A source said: “Vicky loved watching Pete on the series and was in awe of the detail that goes into every performance.

“She has great energy and will no doubt be a hit with the viewers.

“Vicky’s done plenty of reality shows but is ready to be out of her comfort zone on the dance floor.”

Newcastle-born Vicky found fame in 2011 by drinking to excess and having sex on MTV UK’s Geordie Shore.

In 2015, she was crowned I’m A Celebrity’s Queen of the Jungle, later calling the show the “best thing” she had ever done.

She previously said she would not rule out appearing on Strictly Come Dancing — but admitted she would struggle on the dance floor.

She told The Sun last year: “I’ve done my fair share of reality TV and I’d never say never to anything but I’m not a dancer, at all.

“Like, when I found out Pete was doing Strictly, the first thing I did was ring him and see if he was okay.

“Because me and him are more ‘stand in the corner, drink and have a laugh’ than the ‘centre of the dance floor’ people.”

She added: “He was really nervous, and I think that’s how I’ll be.

“As I’ve gotten a bit older, I just feel like I get out of my comfort zone less and less.

“And I know that’s not a good thing and I should be pushing myself out of it sometimes.”

A source close to Vicky said: “She’s had a continuing rise in popularity and her TV work is going from strength to strength after presenting a serious Channel Four documentary and appearing on Celebrity Gogglebox.

“It’s a no-brainer they want to sign her up.”

The BBC declined to comment.

Vicky’s representative was approached for comment.

RTE legend Joe Duffy rules himself out of Presidential run to replace Higgins as election date to be announced in weeks

FORMER RTE star Joe Duffy has ended speculation and ruled himself out of the running to become President.

Duffy, who retired from the national broadcaster just over a week ago after 37 years, had been touted as a possible candidate.

The LiveLine host had said he had not been approached by a party to run following his final show.

Today he put the matter to bed and said: “Thanks, but to be absolutely clear I am NOT seeking a nomination from any politicians, local or national, for the office of President.

“I will not be adding anything further”

On Friday evening it emerged that Lord of the Dance Michael Flatley was considering a run for the office, although he has yet to comment on the rumours.

The star lives in Monaco, but has a mansion in Castlehyde, Co Cork.

It’s unclear if he was to run if he would do so as an Independent or if he has been nominated by a political party, although sources within Fianna Fail have laughed off suggestion he could be on their presidential ticket.

Leaders of opposition parties are due to meet next week to finalise a decision on whether to run a joint candidate in the election.

Housing Minister James Browne plans to announce the date for polling in the coming weeks as he says the public needs to know when the election will be held.

An election to replace Michael D Higgins in the Aras needs to be held before November 11.

People Before Profit TD Paul Murphy said on Friday that opposition leaders are planning to hold further talks next week as he confirmed the idea of a joint candidate is not dead yet.

He told how he was hopeful of a joint left candidate being put forward.

The Dublin TD confirmed that several names had been discussed but remained tight lipped on who they might be.

He was asked if ex-RTE star Duffy may be among the names, and he laughed: “No comment.”

Coleen Nolan shares how she really feels about Loose Women’s ITV future after channel made major cuts

COLEEN Nolan has shared how she really feels about Loose Women’s ITV future after the channel made major cuts.

In May, The Sun exclusively revealed how ITV bosses had axed Loose Women and Lorraine episodes for 22 weeks of the year, in a brutal shake up of their Daytime schedule.

The plans also included cutting Lorraine episodes by 30 minutes and extending Good Morning Britain.

This Morning and Loose Women were unaffected by scheduling changes and will remain in their regular slots of 10.30am to 12.30pm and 12.30pm to 1.30pm, respectively.

However, Loose Women will broadcast fewer episodes – airing “on a seasonal basis for 30 weeks of the year” according to the network.

Now Coleen – who has been a Loose Women panellist since 2000 – has spoken out about the ‘devastating’ impact the changes will have.

She told The Mirror: “Loose Women isn’t ending, which I’m so thankful for, but it’s changing.

“It’s going to be very different in the respect of the size of the crew, but it’s still running.

“Which it should be – there isn’t another show that celebrates and supports all women of every size, age, whatever.

“But it’s heartbreaking to see some of my colleagues not knowing what they’re going to do. Many of them have young families and mortgages.”

She continued: “You read about it all the time – a chain store’s shutting down and 300 people are affected.

“You go, oh that’s awful. Anyway, what do you want for dinner?’, because it doesn’t directly affect you.

“I’ve never been so close to it. It’s made me realise how much this is happening across the whole country at the moment and it’s devastating.”

Kevin Lygo, Managing Director of ITV’s Media and Entertainment Division, said: “Daytime is a really important part of what we do, and these scheduling and production changes will enable us to continue to deliver a schedule providing viewers with the news, debate and discussion they love from the presenters they know and trust as well generating savings which will allow us to reinvest across the programme budget in other genres.

“These changes also allow us to consolidate our news operations and expand our national, international and regional news output and to build upon our proud history of trusted journalism at a time when our viewers need accurate, unbiased news coverage more than ever.”

Pop star and former X Factor singer reveals he’s cancelled show at Pride nearly a year after boyfriend’s tragic death

AN X Factor star has revealed he has cancelled a planned Pride concert – almost a year on from the tragic death of his fiancé.

Jaymi Hensley, 35, rose to fame as a member of hit boyband, Union J.

He has performed as a solo artist alongside his Union J duties but has revealed that he has cancelled a scheduled appearance at Worthing Pride for undisclosed reasons.

Taking to Instagram, Jaymi typed out a message to his followers to reveal he would no longer be performing as originally planned.

Jaymi said: “Guys I’m really sorry for those who were coming to see me but for personal reasons I’m unable to perform at Worthing Pride tomorrow.

“I really hope you understand I never cancel unless it absolutely necessary.”

Jaymi did not add any further details on why he had pulled out of the performance at the LGBTQ+ event.

Last year, Jaymi’s world came crashing down following the death of his partner, Olly Marmon, 33, who plunged more than 30ft from their second floor hotel suite.

Olly is understood to have fallen through a small open second floor window onto a footpath in Wellingborough, Northamptonshire.

Guests at the Hind Hotel rushed outside to try to save Olly but the stylist was later pronounced dead at the scene.

A source close to the pop star’s family said the tragedy was “unbelievable” at the time.

Union J star Jaymi had been in a relationship with hairstylist Olly since 2009 and they got engaged in 2014.

Emergency services rushed to the three-star Hind Hotel in Wellingborough, Northampton, after Olly fell at around 11.30pm.

Olly’s family shared photos of the star, along with tributes to their “spiritual, gentle soul” who was “beautiful both inside and out.”

Jaymi was one of the founding members of Union J in 2011 – although the group was originally a trio known as Triple J.

They auditioned for the ninth series of The X Factor, becoming Union J after fellow contestant George Shelley joined Jaymi, and bandmates JJ Hamblett and Josh Cuthbert.

The foursome came fifth in the competition, which was eventually won by solo singer James Arthur – beating Rylan into fifth, in the same series as Ella Henderson.

The group signed to Sony Music subsidiary RCA Records, releasing debut single ‘Carry You’ in June 2013.

Their self-titled debut studio album followed in October 2013 and peaked at number 6 on the UK Albums Chart.

They left RCA Records in April 2014 and signed with Epic Records. A second LP, named ‘You Got It All – The Album’ came out the following December.

George left the group in 2016 before Josh walked out two years later – leaving Jaymi and JJ as a duo, before the pair officially disbanded in 2019.

They announced a reunion show at London Palladium in 2022 to celebrate Union J’s 10th anniversary and a comeback tour – only for Jaymi to sensationally quit ahead of the gigs.

On July 4, a young Chinese man met a tragic end when he plummeted from the heights of a six-storey building, nestled along Soi Paniadchang in North Pattaya. This grim incident has since unfurled a narrative shrouded in suspicion, intrigue, and unanswered questions. The fateful building, a hotel cloaked in mystery, is no ordinary edifice. It stands as a seven-storey monument to secrets, offering temporary refuge to both daily and monthly sojourners. However, on that particular day, its corridors echoed with silence as Police Lieutenant Anirut Jehrao received a report that would set off a chain of events. Responding promptly, Lieutenant Jehrao, alongside Police Colonel Ekkachai Sratongyu and the diligent Sawang Boriboon Foundation rescue team, arrived at the scene to piece…

Tragic Tale of Choo in Buriram: A Warning Against Online Gambling Dangers

In a small corner of Buriram municipality, under the enchanting glow of moonlight reflecting off the still waters of a canal, an unimaginable tragedy unfolded—an unforgettable night that serves as a poignant reminder of the perils lurking within digital shadows. It was the evening of July 4th, a day many celebrate with fireworks and festivities, but for Choo’s loved ones, it marked the beginning of a heart-wrenching ordeal. Choo was a bright, hopeful 21-year-old university student who, like many of his peers, aspired to make something significant of his life. However, the past few weeks had been overshadowed by the grip of online gambling, a modern-day menace. The allure of quick, easy money had ensnared him in its web, and the recent loss of over 7,000 baht had cast a shroud of despair over his every thought. Anxiety gnawed at Choo as he wandered along the canal, hand-in-hand with his…

Chon Buri Chemical Truck Incident: Traffic Chaos and Fatigue’s Dangerous Dance

In a twist of fate that left more than just heads spinning, Highway 36 in Chon Buri became an unexpected stage for one truck’s dramatic tumble, leaving impatient motorists gritting their teeth in an extended bumper-to-bumper tableau. It was a late morning scene right out of a chaotic blockbuster film when, around 11am on July 4, a hefty chemical truck took a dive near the entrance to Ban Khlong Yai Monastery in the usually serene Pong subdistrict. The unlikely protagonist of this unscheduled roadside spectacle was an 18-wheeler Hino, cloaked in a white veneer and burdened with the responsibility of carting around a batch of empty yet ominous-looking corrosive chemical containers. The lumbering behemoth, however, met its match as it lost control and began an awkward dance to the asphalt, scattering its hefty cargo across every possible lane of the Rayong-bound stretch. This vehicular conundrum birthed an overwhelming traffic snarl-up…

Drama Unfolds in Pattaya: Thirawat’s Marital Spat Leads to Violent Encounter

One sunny afternoon in the vibrant city of Pattaya, an unfortunate domestic incident unfolded, serving as a stark reminder of the complexities of human emotion and relationships. This tale, fit for a soap opera script but sadly real, took place on Thursday, July 3, around 5 PM. The scene of the drama was a cluster of rental rooms situated opposite Soi Kor Pai 10 in South Pattaya – a place that would witness an incident leaving the locals both shocked and intrigued. The air was thick with tension as a marital spat escalated into violence, all captured in gritty detail by the ever-watchful eye of CCTV. The man at the heart of this storm, known as Thirawat, a 30-year-old, was left nursing two stab wounds – one menacing his left upper back and another gnawing at his left shin. These were not just scratches; they penetrated 1-2 centimeters deep, enough…
