‘I destroy him, that’s it?’ – Moment Wimbledon ball kid is clattered by tennis star as huge row erupts with umpire

WIMBLEDON star Jaume Munar fumed at an umpire after colliding with a ball kid during his third round clash with Marin Cilic.

The Spaniard took on Jack Draper‘s conqueror on Court 18 for a place in the fourth round.

Trailing by two sets to one, Munar’s frustrations were on show for all to see.

With Cilic leading 6-3 3-6 6-2 3-2, Munar faced a break point that would go on to effectively seal the match.

When the Croatian pummelled a forehand down the line, his opponent scrambled several yards behind the baseline to try to retrieve it.

After looping a backhand lob, Munar couldn’t stop himself from accidentally clattering into a ball kid stood dutifully at the back of the court.

Having watched his lob land harmlessly long, the Spaniard angrily pointed at the ball kid.

And having had his serve broken, Munar confronted umpire Mohamed Lahyani about the incident.

The world No55 fumed: “He has to stay? I hit him with the racquet and he has to stay?”

Lahyani responded: “If he’s in his position, nothing I can do.”

Not content, Munar ranted on: “He cannot move? If if I’m running and I hit him, I hit him and that’s it?

“And we follow, that’s it? Not let, nothing? I just destroy him and that’s it? I hit him with the racquet.”

Thankfully the ball kid was not hurt in the incident.

Having gone 4-2 down after that point, Munar did not recover – eventually going down 6-3 3-6 6-2 6-4.

Cilic, 36, will face Flavio Cobolli for a place in the quarter-finals.

The Italian No22 seed comfortably dispatched of Jakub Mensik yesterday.

Dressed in beautiful white matching outfits and holding celebratory champagne, the happy couple beamed from head to toe.

Fans were quick to share their thoughts and one wrote: “Awh congratulations to you both absolutely beautiful wishing you many happy years together.”

Reality star Gemma Collins added: “Congratulations” alongside a series of red love hearts.

A third added: “Congratulations to you both what a beautiful family & you deserve this happiness x”

“Congratulations guys, hope you had the best day. Dani you looked amazing (Brian not bad either)” joked another.

Another said: “Congratulations to you both . You all look amazing. Beautiful.”

Brian started dating high school PE teacher Danielle in 2016 after being introduced by crooner Cole Paige.

Danielle used to compete in the heptathlon for Rochdale Harriers at Under 21 level and dreamed to making the Olympics as a teenager.

However she ended up teaching PE at Matthew Moss High School in Rochdale, where she was said to be popular with the pupils.

Brian moved to Rochdale to be with Danielle shortly after they started dating.

However, the couple were forced to postpone their wedding previously due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The couple welcomed their baby daughter, Ruby Jean, into the world back in 2021.

But the pair had suffered two devastating miscarriages before announcing her pregnancy.

Brian also shares Molly Marie, 23, and 21-year-old Lilly-Sue McFadden with his ex Kerry Katona.

Brian wed childhood sweetheart Kerry in 2002 before divorcing four years later. He then married Vogue Williams in 2012 for four years.

Kerry recently revealed an insight into her relationship with Brian’s partner Danielle, and said: “I get on really well with his fiancée.

“I think I might have a girl crush on her. I always go off of what my girls say for a stepmum, and she’s the best stepmum.

“On Mother’s Day, I sent her a message. I went, Happy Mother’s Day, Danielle. I think she’s lovely and they’ve got a beautiful little girl, Ruby.

“I wish them nothing but joy and happiness.”

Boot’s mega summer sale includes 50% off a skincare product that promises to protect against premature skin ageing and a half price buy that gives users a natural-looking tan.

The health and beauty retailer has slashed the price of over 3,000 products, including a number of “five-star” buys perfect for summer holidays.

50% off Garnier Sun Spray

Garnier Ambre Solaire SPF 50+ Sensitive Advanced Dry Mist Sun Spray has been reduced from £16 to just £8, a saving of 50%.

The sun cream promises “very high protection” against sun-induced skin damage and sunburn, and the spray bottle makes it super easy to apply to hard-to-reach areas.

The bargain buy is suitable for all skin types, and is hypoallergenic, so is unlikely to cause any allergic reactions.

Garnier said: “This protection mist has an ultra-light texture that absorbs quickly, without leaving white marks, and gives a bare skin feeling that is non-greasy.

“The spray format allows you to protect all parts of the body quickly and easily.

“This water resistant suncream offers advanced protection against immediate sun induced skin damage, caused by UVB rays, as well as protection from long-term damage and premature skin ageing caused by UVA rays.”

The summer essential has over 100 five-star reviews from satisfied customers, including one person who said: “I thought I’d try it out as I’m a full time wheelchair user with limited mobility and hand strength and was hoping to be able to reapply and reach awkward areas during the day.

“I was able to reach most areas, it was easy to press and spray, and whilst clear, it’s fairly obvious where it looks shiny.”

Also in the sale is Dove Summer Revived Light to Medium Gradual Tanning Lotion, which has been slashed from £4.19 to £2.09, a saving of 50%.

The budget cream aims to give a natural-looking holiday glow, for hardly any effort.

The tanning product works like a normal everyday moisturiser and creates a long-lasting natural tan.

Over time, it builds up to a light to medium colour, but don’t forget to add sun cream over the top to protect your skin.

Dove said: ” This streak-free tanning lotion is ideal for everyday use, creating a long-lasting, natural-looking self-tan.

“Its moisturising power keeps your skin hydrated, while the 100% naturally derived DHA subtly adds colour for a buildable glow that you control.

The importance of sun cream in your skincare routine

Dermatologist and skincare enthusiast Andrea Suarez - known as Dr Dray - revealed why you should wear suncream.

The one thing you can do that will make the biggest difference – and this matters for all ages – is protecting your skin from the sun, Andrea stressed.

“The vast majority of external aging is due to exposure to ultraviolet radiation,” she continued, not because you’re “not using some jazzy serum or layering 90 different things on your face everyday”.

“If you’re not doing in your 20s, get on that now.”

But she said the use of sun cream alone doesn’t go far enough. Andrea urged that you also wear sun-protective clothing like broad-brimmed hats and long sleeves, on top of not staying out too long in the sun.

Doing this over your lifetime – and all year, not just during the summer or on sunny days – “will reduce the visible signs of photoageing”, Andrea said.

Those are wrinkles, muddled pigmentation and sagging skin.

“The gradual tan builds up to a light to medium colour, leaving your skin with a natural-looking, sun-kissed glow.”

Over 300 shoppers have given the product a five-star review, including one fan who said: “I’m using this tanning lotion for about three years.

“I usually apply in the evening and can see a beautiful golden tan next morning.”

A second person said: ‘I Was amazed by how good this is.

“I’ve never used fake tan before, but my daughter showed me the results, and I gave it a try.

“My legs take forever to tan, and usually look like two milk bottles, but not anymore.”

Shoppers can also snap up countless other offers on essential products, such as half price on Soap & Glory Face Soap & Clarity Facial Wash, and Oral-B Pro-Expert Professional Protection Toothpaste.

Cork GAA hero Patrick Horgan shares tender moment with son Jack, 3, after All-Ireland semi-final drubbing of Dublin

PATRICK HORGAN shared a tender moment with his son Jack after Cork’s rampant win over Dublin on Saturday.

Pat Ryan’s men booked their place in another All-Ireland hurling final with a 20-point drubbing of the Dubs at Croke Park.

Horgan chipped in with 0-8 as he and fellow Rebel inside forwards Brian Hayes and Alan Connolly ran up 5-11 of Cork’s total of 7-26.

Amid the celebrations on the pitch after the game, the 37-year-old was joined by his three-year-old son Jack.

And the Glen Rovers basked in his child’s adulation, hoisting him into the air.

The Leesiders were cheered on by a raucous and boisterous Cork support at GAAHQ.

Indeed, to the naked eye, the red jerseys in the stands appeared to outnumber the blue of Dublin.

This seemed to irk RTE veteran Des Cahill, who took to Twitter to insist that Niall O Ceallachain’s men deserved better.

The Cuala man said: “Fair play to the #Cork hurling fans-incredible support today. I’ve never seen anything like it! A great team to follow.

“But I was disappointed for the #Dublin hurlers – they deserved much bigger support.

“I also felt they battled to the end with great honesty and determination.”

Going into Saturday, Dublin’s route to the last four was aided by avoiding the concession of goals.

However, they could not hold back the Rebels, as Alan Connolly netted a hat-trick alongside goals from Brian Hayes and Tim O’Mahony (two each).

It will further enhance Cork’s status as favourites to go all the way, with one of Tipperary or Kilkenny facing them in the decider.

And boss Ryan revealed that goals are the Leesiders’ priority.

Ryan said: “We’re targeting goals all the time and we’re targeting fast starts all the time. That’s the goal and that’s the game. Our lads were really clinical today.

“I thought we left an awful lot of scores behind us for points but that’s me being a bit critical, maybe over-critical. They’re some things we’ll go after.

“But delighted with our fellas. For us to get back into a final shows the character and strength of commitment to the jersey that the lads have.”

TRIPLE THREAT

The inside forward trio of Patrick Horgan, Alan Connolly, and Brian Hayes proved to be too much to handle.

When asked if he could have provided extra protection to his full-backs, Dubs boss Ó Ceallacháin said: “It’s a fair question when you concede seven goals.

“I’ll tell you straight out that we intentionally didn’t.

“I’ve been proven wrong now so I can be fairly criticised, but the way we see it is there’s just no point in going with a zonal back six against a team like Cork.

“You won’t concede seven goals so you won’t see a scenario like that, but you will lose the game.

“Is it a risky set-up? It absolutely is. Should I be criticised? Absolutely. It didn’t work. They were very sharp and they were excellent.

“But what I would say is with the alternative, you won’t lose by 20 points but you will lose the game.”

EastEnders’ Samantha Womack reveals stark warning from fans as she’s targeted in street over boyfriend

EASTENDERS star Samantha Womack has said she gets stopped in the street and ‘warned’ about her Emmerdale actor boyfriend.

The actress was utterly beloved by fans of the BBC One soap when she played the role of Ronnie Mitchell.

Now, Samantha’s Emmerdale star boyfriend Oliver Farnworth is the one making waves in the soap world.

So much so, that the actress admits she actually gets warned about her boyfriend when she’s out and about, because he plays the role of a serial killer.

Oliver plays the role of Emmerdale killer John Sugden on the long-running soap, and he’s been up to all sorts of dastardly deeds since arriving in the village.

Sharing an insight into her relationship with Emmerdale’s prolific murderer, Samantha told The Sun: “I do get warned about him.

“But Oli is actually so strict about confidentiality. So he comes back every few days and he won’t tell me what’s happening with anything.

“He’s like ‘I just can’t let you know,’ and I’ll say ‘come on I’m not going to tell anybody.’

“But I really think this is one of his favourite jobs to date. I visited the set and it’s beautiful. They have rolling hills and cute cottages. It’s very different to EastEnders

“And what is funny is he gets a lot of attention when he goes up north, but when we go down south everyone knows me from EastEnders so it changes where we go.”

Samantha and Oliver live in Spain together, after first growing close in 2019 while working on The Girl on the Train.

The star recently admitted to feeling ‘rejected’ by EastEnders boss Sean O’Connor, as she admitted that it was not her decision to leave.

She told The Mail: “It was really hard for us because it wasn’t in our hands. We didn’t make the decision to go.

“I don’t really understand what happened, one producer was leaving and another was coming in, I don’t know what went on.”

Before her time on the soap, Samantha, 52, represented the UK in the Eurovision Song Contest.

However, she admitted that leaving Walford took a toll on her, as she felt like she was losing ‘a family.’

The actress told the publication: “At the time it felt like bereavement, it felt like losing a family member. It was like losing family and losing stability.

“But the thing that was the most painful – and it really was painful – was that me and Rita loved feeling like we belonged there.

“Then to be rejected, and I know that’s emotional but that’s what it was, it hit us both so hard.”

However, the star admitted that she is now thankful to events in hindsight as it allowed her to do other things.

Authorities arrived at Victoria Park in Canton, Cardiff, after the man allegedly approached several children at the leisure centre.

Some parents were concerned the man had been taking photographs or recording children at the park.

But officers found he was not in possession of such devices after searching him.

According to South Wales Police, the 34-year-old was arrested on Thursday (July 3).

The man, of no fixed abode, has been charged with attempted kidnap and two public order offences and remanded in custody.

Police are now appealing to witness for more information.

A spokesperson for the South Wales force said: “Just before midday on Thursday, July 3, officers attended Victoria Park, Cardiff, following a number of calls which raised concerns about a man’s behaviour in the splash park area.

“Moynul Janu, 34, of no fixed abode has been charged with two counts of attempted kidnap and two counts of public order and has been remanded in police custody.

“Some people were concerned he had been taking photographs or recording children, but we can confirm when officers searched him, he was not in possession of any such devices.

“Anybody who may have information about the incident or who noticed something suspicious is urged to make contact.

“Please give reference 2500210810.”

Located in a Grade II-listed park in Canton, the Victoria Park splash pad first opened in 2016 and has since become a firm favourite with families.

Its water features are spread across three zones for toddlers, juniors, and families.

Premier League clubs should fork out for police at matches, top cop says – as he slams £70million costs

FOOTBALL clubs should foot the bill for the £70million cost of policing matches, Britain’s top cop has demanded.

Met chief Sir Mark Rowley slammed the system where taxpayers pick up the tab to keep Premier League games safe.

He called for a “polluter pays approach” – warning local communities lose out on frontline policing while forces are stretched covering football.

Sir Mark told the BBC: “Policing of football matches across the country, mainly Premier League, cost policing £70 million it doesn’t get back from football clubs. In London, it’s more than a third of that.

“If you’re running a profit making event that because of the nature of it, requires security, requires policing to support your security because of the criminality that is going to be experienced, why isn’t the organiser paying for that, rather than local communities who lose their resources to go to football matches?”

The Met boss also blasted Britain’s outdated 43-force policing model – saying it’s been “not fit for purpose for at least two decades” and urgently needs ripping up.

He warned that with disappointing funding from Chancellor Rachel Reeves, forces face brutal cuts – with 3,300 cops and staff already slashed.

Sir Mark added: “We’ve cut 1,600 over the last couple of years… 1,700 officers and staff this year, that 3,300 out of an organisation just over 40,000 is a big hit.”

He’s now pushing for radical reforms and bigger regional forces, saying: “We need to reduce the number of forces by two-thirds… making better use of the limited funding available.”

And he warned unless urgent action is taken, overstretched cops will be forced to stop investigating some crimes altogether.

Tadhg Beirne reveals ‘most frustrating part’ of sloppy win over Waratahs that Lions ‘will have to look at’

TADHG BEIRNE could not disguise his frustration after leading the Lions to an underwhelming victory over Waratahs.

Scotland centre Huw Jones crossed twice as the tourists were forced to battle hard in grinding past a second-string Tahs side in Sydney.

But it was less than convincing against a side — missing a slew of Australia players — that had lost five of their last six Super Rugby games.

Ireland lock Beirne was switched to blindside flanker after England’s Henry Pollock was pulled from the XV with a tight calf. Scott Cummings came into the second row.

And Lions skipper Beirne said: “A lot of dropped balls, a lot of turnovers, the ball was a bit slippery out there.

“It was a bit frustrating in terms of not being very clinical.

“That cohesiveness we’re looking for wasn’t probably there, so that’s the most frustrating part.

“We probably lacked physicality. That’s something we’re going to have to look at.”

After scoring 16 tries and 106 points in their opening two games, the Lions lacked invention and physical presence, missing rested playmaker Finn Russell and regular skipper Maro Itoje.

They took a 14-5 lead into the break, but it was a mediocre first half, with too many mistakes and poor decision-making.

Waratahs captain Hugh Sinclair said: “The game was scrappy. The Lions would be disappointed by that but we showed they’re beatable.

“They’re 15 blokes on a field, put some pressure on and things can happen.”
