Israel bombs hijacked Brit ship Galaxy Leader seized by Houthis in devastating wave of airstrikes against terror group

ISRAEL has bombed the hijacked Brit ship Galaxy Leader seized by Houthis in devastating wave of airstrikes.

The car carrier was snatched by the terror group when crack troops swooped onto it with a helicopter in November 2023.

The Galaxy Leader is owned by a British company, which is partially owned by Israeli tycoon Abraham Ungar.

The militants had celebrated its capture as a war trophy – with Yemeni influencers visiting the vessel to show it off.

The brutal attack on Sunday night involved around a whopping 50 missiles and bombs, according to the IDF.

The Force added the attack was in response to relentless Houthi attacks on Israel.

The IDF said: “The Houthi terrorist regime’s forces installed a radar system on the ship, and are using it to track vessels in international maritime space in order to promote the Houthi terrorist regime’s activities.”

The strikes were also said to have hit the ports of Hodeidah, Ras Isa and Salif, alongside the Ras Qantib power plant on the coast.

A mere few hours later, two retaliation missiles were launched from Yemen, Israel said.

Attempts were made to intercept them but the results were still under review.

The Houthi group has continued to fire ballistic missiles at Israel since the tense ceasefire with Iran was reached.

But the firing attempts are – most of the time – blasted singly, meaning Israel’s Iron Dome is usually able to down them.

In October, Houthi rebels forced hostages on board a hijacked British cargo ship to party on live TV as new satellite images reveal the vessel’s movements.

Footage shared on Yemen TV channels shows the captives watching a traditional knife dance as the guests of honour on the ship where they are being held hostage.

Exclusive images provided to The Sun also showed the boat being brought back and forth from the shore by the Houthis.

Satellite pics taken by company Maxar show the ship tied with its back to shore last April.

The condition of the crew is dire as they face “significant health issues” including malaria, a report claims.

Most of the crew are from the Philippines, with three from Ukraine, two each from Bulgaria and Mexico, and one from Romania.

The Houthis have sought to portray themselves as treating the hostages generously and have welcomed visits from the Red Cross and a top naval commander.

But Filipino diplomatic sources have previously said they do not expect the captives to be released until Israel’s war in Gaza is over.

For about a dollar per trip, male-only groups of visitors can board wooden boats five times a week to marvel at the hijacked carrier.

The Houthis, designated a “global terrorist” group by Washington, have previously draped it in Yemeni and Palestinian flags and anti-American and anti-Israeli banners.

They have continued their campaign to disrupt trade in the Red Sea for almost a year now.

Footage from earlier this month shows them sending an explosive-laden drone at a British oil tanker.

They shared the clip of a big explosion near the side of the Cordelia Moon, which damaged its port side tank and covered it in clouds of smoke.

Around 12 per cent of all global trade normally passes through the Bab el-Mandeb Strait, the now-under-attack 20-mile-wide stretch of the Red Sea also known as the “Gate of Tears”.

Who are the Houthis?

THE Houthi rebels have spent months terrorising the Red Sea by launching persistent missile and drone attacks on vessels and warships – but who are they?

The Shia militant group who now controls large swaths of Yemen spent over a decade being largely ignored by the world.

However, since the outbreak of the Israel-Hamas war, they sprung from relative obscurity to holding roughly £1trillion of world trade hostage – turning one of the world’s busiest shipping lanes into an active warzone.

Their warped battle cry is “Death to America, Death to Israel, curse the Jews and victory to Islam”.

Why are they attacking ships?

Last October, the rebel group began launching relentless drone and missile attacks on any ships – including warships – they deem to be connected with Israel in solidarity with their ally Hamas.

In reality, they targeted commercial vessels with little or no link to Israel – forcing global sea traffic to largely halt operations in the region and sending shipping prices around the world soaring.

The sea assaults added to the carnage in the Middle East tinderbox as intense ripples from Israel’s war in Gaza were felt across the region – with Iran accused of stoking the chaos.

The Houthi chiefs pledged their Red Sea attacks would continue until Israel stopped its offensive in Gaza.

The group’s chiefs have previously said their main targets are Israel, and its allies the US and Britain.

And despite repeated threats from the West and joint US and UK strikes blitzing their strongholds in Yemen – Iran’s terror proxy appears undeterred.

The UK and US have hit Houthi bases as recently as this month after the terror group once again targeted boats in the shipping lane.

Israel has also hammered the group with airstrikes, reportedly hitting oil storage tanks at the port in Al Hudaydah

THIAGO SILVA admits he has been spying on his beloved Chelsea to help wreck their dream of becoming world champions.

The legendary defender is now with Brazilians Fluminense, who face The Blues on Thursday evening in the semi-final.

There is £97 million for the tournament winner and veteran Silva will find it tough to play against the team with whom he won the Champions League and became a cult hero with the fans.

Silva, 40, said: “I’m trying to help the coaching staff with small details, things that will stay between us.

“I was in London not too long ago visiting my kids and went to some training sessions, you know.

“I know a lot of the players there, and I talk to them pretty much every week, some of them are really close to me.

“I’m happy to have this matchup, and it’s going to be a special day for me, but it will be even more special if we manage to go through.

“I’m just really grateful for everything I went through there. It was a very special team in my life, where I won one of the biggest titles of my career, and facing them now definitely won’t be easy.

“I know how strong they are, but at the same time, we’re going to try to play our game in the best way possible, respecting our opponent but fighting for our dream — the dream of our fans and the club.

“I don’t think even the most optimistic fan could’ve imagined we’d be here, in the semifinals of a Club World Cup.

“We’ve earned our place with hard work, and now we need to stay fully focused for tomorrow’s match so we can try to reach the next round.”

Silva was a free transfer from French giants Paris St.Germain and signed by former Chelsea boss Frank Lampard.

He was an inspirational character as part of the squad that was crowned kings of Europe by beating Manchester City 1-0 four years ago.

Silva is still going strong in his fifth decade and is an icon in his homeland with 113 caps for Brazil.

He said: “People always talk about the gap between Europe and South America. I was just saying recently how much respect they have for us.

“If you look at most European teams, they have top players from our continent, and that shows the respect they have for us — and it will be the same tomorrow.

“The expectations are huge. The nerves are there, the excitement is there, the anxiety too, going into a Club World Cup semifinal against them.

“At what you could call the final stage of my career, I’m still living important moments and trying to help in the best way I can.

“It would be special to eliminate Chelsea, even with all the love I have for them, but when you’re on the pitch, you have to focus on your own team.

“After the tournament, my support for Chelsea and PSG will always be there.

“I’m forever grateful to those clubs, I did everything I could while I was there, and I’ll keep doing the same for Fluminense.

“Hopefully, we can get this qualification.”

Elon Musk blasts FBI after axing Epstein probe — raging ‘It’s no-one-has-been-arrested-o’clock again’

DONALD Trump’s ex-pal Elon Musk lashed out yesterday after a leaked memo said the FBI was ready to end its Jeffrey Epstein probe — with the Tesla tycoon declaring: “It’s no-one-has-been-arrested-o’clock again.”

The document showed federal investigators and the US Justice Department found no evidence the paedophile financier had a client list or blackmailed powerful figures.

And CCTV footage taken outside his cell — finally released six years after his death — proved he was not murdered, officials claimed.

Many within the US President’s Make America Great Again movement — including FBI chief Kash Patel and his deputy Dan Bongino — repeatedly called for all Epstein files to be publicly released and other abusers to be brought to justice.

Critics accused the US government of a new cover-up, weeks after Musk claimed the President was “in the Epstein files”.

Billionaire Musk led the attacks yesterday, posting on X: “What’s the time? Oh look, it’s no-one-has-been-arrested-o’clock again…”, above a meme of “The Official Jeffrey Epstein paedophile arrest counter” — which was at zero.

He added: “Man, this is heavy”, and referring to Epstein’s British socialite madam, serving 20 years for sex trafficking, said: “What is Ghislaine Maxwell in prison for? Stuff like this does not improve people’s faith in government.”

Maxwell was pictured with Prince Andrew and his sex abuse accuser Virginia Giuffre

One of the main claims by conspiracy theorists was that Epstein was murdered in 2019 to hush him up and protect senior figures.

In the run-up to yesterday’s revelations, US government officials suggested shocking revelations.

When asked if Epstein’s client list would be released, Attorney General Pam Bondi said in February: “It’s sitting on my desk right now to review.”

She had also said the FBI was reviewing “tens of thousands of videos” of Epstein “with children or child porn”.

Trump supporter Alina Habba, the acting US Attorney for the District of New Jersey, had said: “It is incredibly disturbing. We have flight logs, we have information, names that will come out.

“I don’t see how it’s not shocking there were so many individuals that were hidden and kept secret and not been held accountable.”

Epstein watchers keenly anticipated a string of powerful people being outed as clients, with up to 1,000 FBI agents on the case.

But there was anger when a two-page DoJ/FBI memo revealed investigators had found no evidence of a cover-up.

It’s claimed new CCTV of Epstein in jail, circled, proves the convicted paedophile was not murdered in his cell

It was published by US news website Axios and picked up by ABC News.

The US government made no official comment.

The memo said there was “no incriminating ‘client list’”, “no credible evidence Epstein blackmailed prominent individuals,” and “no evidence could predicate an investigation against uncharged third parties”.

The memo said Epstein harmed “over one thousand victims” and “each suffered unique trauma”.

It said “sensitive information relating to these victims is intertwined throughout materials” it reviewed, but warned: “Much of the material is subject to court-ordered sealing.

“Only a fraction would have been aired publicly had Epstein gone to trial, as the seal served only to protect victims and did not expose any additional third-parties to allegations of wrongdoing.”

Investigators checked the original film from cameras near Epstein’s cell, as well as an enhanced version from 10.40pm the night before he died to around 6.30am, when he was found.

No one else enters that area of the prison, officials said.

The memo states: “After a thorough investigation, FBI investigators concluded Jeffrey Epstein committed suicide in his cell.”

Protest group Republicans Against Trump said: “Hey Donald, if you’ve got nothing to hide, release all the Epstein files just like you promised. What are you afraid of?”

Mr Musk made his claims about Trump being in the Epstein files when they fell out after the Tesla boss left government.

The world’s richest man later said he “went too far” — but posted repeatedly about the case yesterday.

The President earlier hit back at the claims saying: “That’s called ‘old news.’ Even Epstein’s lawyer said I had nothing to do with it.”

Trump and Epstein attended the same parties in the 1990s and in 2017 Epstein claimed he was “Donald Trump’s closest friend”.

Trump had said he was “not a fan of Epstein” and had not spoken to him in years.

Footballer Harrison, 22, has wasted no time getting close to bombshell Lauren, spending the first night in bed together and sharing lots of kisses.

But now a new set of boys have arrived to meet the girls, viewers believe Slovenian hunk Boris is the man Toni needs after they got to know each other in the garden.

Toni complimented Boris’s tattoos and the gem on his teeth, while he cheekily joked that his homeland is known for “big snakes”, raising a giggle from Toni.

Viewers loved the chemistry, with one writing on X: “Toni and Boris are my winners.”

A second said: “Ok I’m ready to declare Toni and Boris the winners.”

A third posted: “I hope Toni picks Boris, they look great together.”

Another wrote: “I genuinely need Toni to bring back Boris so I can’t see Harrison get humbled expeditiously.”

Harrison wasted no time making moves on new girl Lauren after the villa split into two, telling her: “Obviously me and Tone, we’re decent, but I feel like, I don’t know if I get that, like, spark, you know what I’m saying.”

Lauren replied: “Obviously I’m attracted to you.

“Do you get that with me?”

Harrison admitted: “Yeah, no, it’s massive. It’s huge. I don’t even know if I can fight it honestly.”

Bond Girl, 70, looks unrecognizable 35 years after starring in 007 film – can you guess who it is?

A BOND Girl from the beloved franchise looks completely different from her role in 1989 flick.

35 years ago, this lady starred in 007 film Licence To Kill and made a lasting impact on viewers.

When the lady, who is now 70 years of age, starred in the movie, the franchise was fronted by Timothy Dalton.

Aside from her role as a beautiful bond girl in the hit flick, she played Terri Alden in the ABC sitcom Three’s Company between 1981 and 1984.

She also appeared in films, including A Vacation in Hell, Stepfather III, The Crossing Guard, Mallrats, The Devil’s Rejects and The Visitation.

You’ve guessed it, it’s Della Churchill star Priscilla Barnes.

Stepping out in Los Angeles and making a rare appearance, Priscilla looked laid back after a trip to the grocery store.

Seen arriving home after getting her groceries, Priscilla wore a casual outfit that made her look years younger than she is.

Looking youthful, the stunning New Jersey-born beauty wore some distressed jeans and a simple t-shirt.

She seemingly ditched wearing a bra for the occasion, too, and wore some simple sneakers in a navy and white colorway.

Priscilla, who has been married to Ted Monte since 2003, wore her blond locks down and tousled.

Ditching makeup for the occasion, the former Bond Girl also sported some brown sunglasses in some of the snaps.

Carrying multiple totes and shopping bags, Priscilla looked weighed down with her purchases as she made her way indoors.

She then later emerged carrying a glass and holding an empty bag.

Though Priscilla is known and loved as an actress, she began her career as a model.

Her first break came when American comedian, actor, entertainer and producer, Bob Hope, saw her in a local fashion show.

He then invited her to join his troupe for a 1973 performance at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington.

Spellbound by her brief brush with the world of showbiz, Priscilla moved to LA and began acting.

Then, while she was working as a hostess at a Hollywood nightclub, she made a slight career U-turn.

Priscilla adopted the pseudonym of Joann Witty and posed completely nude for the Pet of the Month photo layout in the March 1976 issue of Penthouse magazine.

The magazine later wanted to republish the photos under Priscilla’s real name.

They wanted to do so in 1982 after she shot to stardom for her work on Three’s Company.

Emma Munro also revealed he was sending her an apology note back in February[/caption]

On tonight’s episode of the long-running ITV2 series, the pair sat down for a catch-up chat.

During the conversation on Love Island, Emma made Harry Cooksley admit to several huge revelations that came up.

She claimed that he cheated when he brought girls into the home they previously shared together.

“The fact of the matter is, you’ve brought girls into our home, and I wouldn’t do that to you, because that was the rules, and you think the rules don’t apply to you.

“It’s my house, Harry. You think as soon as there’s a boundary in place, cross it?

“You think, ‘oh yes, let me just f*** this up’, like there’s just no need for any other woman to be in my house.”

As he tried to assure her that he would ‘be there’, she later corrected his version of the timeline of their relationship.

He told her: “You don’t have very high thoughts of me, or you don’t think a lot of me, but I am here. I think I said that in the letter to you years ago.”

To which she replied: “Years ago? You mean in February?”

Adding: “We make the choice not to be together because we know that you can’t give me what I need, and that’s why it’s not because we don’t love each other, we have to like, be strong enough to like, stand on that decision.”

Fans of the show took to social media in droves as they were left completely flabbergasted by the semi-pro footballers past behaviour.

Writing on X – formerly known as Twitter – one viewer fumed: “Bringing another woman into her HOUSE to cheat on her ?!?!”

Britain unites to remember victims of 7/7 bombings on 20th anniversary as Royals, PM and survivors vow never to forget

PRINCE William led tributes to 7/7 Tube and bus bomb victims as the nation came together to mark 20 years since the 7/7 bombings.

Survivors, families who lost loved ones, first responders, the Royal Family and senior politicians united to remember those who died in the terror which gripped the capital.

On July 7, 2005, four suicide bombers hit London’s transport network, killing 52 people and injuring more than 770 on three London Underground trains and a bus.

The attacks were the first suicide bombings on British soil and changed the country’s response to terror forever.

In a statement issued to mark the anniversary, Sir Keir Starmer said: “Today, the whole country will unite to remember the lives lost in the 7/7 attacks, and all those whose lives were changed forever.

“We honour the courage shown that day — the bravery of the emergency services, the strength of survivors and the unity of Londoners in the face of terror.

My heartfelt thoughts and special prayers remain with all those whose lives were forever changed on that terrible summer’s day.

King Charles

“Those who tried to divide us failed. We stood together then, and we stand together now — against hate and for the values that define us of freedom, democracy and the rule of law.”

Prince William met survivors and relatives of victims to lay flowers at the permanent memorial in Hyde Park yesterday afternoon.

William, 43, joined up to 500 survivors of the bombings and families of the victims for a moving service.

He spoke with Thelma Stober, one of the survivors, and Gerald Oppenheim, chairman of the London Emergencies Trust.

Jill Foulkes, sister of victim David Foulkes, said that grief never got easier but that the loss and the pain changed over the years.

Her brother died on his first visit to London on his own.

His father, Graham, said: “For many people, nothing was the same again and yet everything was the same — because the good which is in Londoners and the countless visitors whom they host at any given moment is not erased by hatred or threat.

“But rather it is fostered to produce a harvest of hope for each generation.”

June Taylor, whose daughter Carrie died aged 24 at Aldgate station, told those gathered: “Don’t take for granted what you have but treasure every minute.”

Earlier in the day, Sir Keir and London Mayor Sir Sadiq Khan laid wreaths at the memorial at 8.50am, to coincide with the moment that the first bomb went off.

The Prime Minister left on top of white flowers a handwritten note, which read: “Our thoughts are with all those who lost their lives and to the survivors of 7/7.

“Twenty years on, we grieve and we remember them.”

Officials including Metropolitan Police Commissioner Sir Mark Rowley and Chief Constable of British Transport Police Lucy D’Orsi also laid floral tributes.

In a poignant memorial service at St Paul’s Cathedral yesterday morning, 52,000 white petals rained down from the ceiling while a list of victims was read out.

Saba Edwards, the daughter of victim Behnaz Mozakka, read out the names of those killed on the Piccadilly line service between King’s Cross and Russell Square.

The attack was the deadliest of the four launched that day, with 26 people killed by Germaine Lindsay when he blew himself up by detonating his bomb just after the train left the station at 8.49am.

Ms Edwards’ voice cracked slightly as she got to her mother’s name among the list of victims.

I remain angry. Laura was denied the opportunity of a life that me and my brother have been lucky enough to have.

Rob Webb

Survivor Ms Stober then read out the names of the seven killed on the Circle Line train between Liverpool Street and Aldgate, the six who died at Edgware Road, and the 13 who lost their lives on a bus at Tavistock Square.

Shehzad Tanweer detonated his bomb on the Circle Line between Liverpool Street and Aldgate at 8.49am, with ringleader Mohammad Sidique Khan doing so on a Circle line train near Edgware Road.

Confusion initially led to the attacks being perceived as a power surge before it became clear that it was a bombing attack, carried out by home-grown terrorists.

The last of the attacks took place on the number 30 bus not far from King’s Cross, at about 9.47am.

Edward and Sophie, the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh, represented the King during the service yesterday.

Charles issued a statement, highlighting comfort could be taken from the “spirit of unity” in London and the country, which allowed the nation to heal.

He said: “My heartfelt thoughts and special prayers remain with all those whose lives were forever changed on that terrible summer’s day.

“We remember with profound sadness the 52 innocent people who were killed in senseless acts of evil — and the enduring grief of their loved ones.

“We should also remember the countless stories of extraordinary courage and compassion.

“We recall, too, the hundreds more who carry physical and psychological scars, and pray that their suffering may ease as the years pass.

“The selfless bravery of emergency services, transport workers, and citizens who rushed towards danger to help strangers reminds us of the very best of humanity in the face of the very worst.”

Senior politicians in attendance included Leader of the Opposition Kemi Badenoch, Health Secretary Wes Streeting, and former PMs Tony Blair and Theresa May.

Rob Webb, whose younger sister Laura was killed at Edgware Road, called 7/7 “an attack on all of us” that should never be forgotten.

He added: “I remain angry. Laura was denied the opportunity of a life that me and my brother have been lucky enough to have.”

Bishop of London the Rt Rev Dame Sarah Mullally said the message was one of hope, adding: “The good that is in Londoners is not erased by hatred or threat.

“Hope presents itself as a survival tool for the tenacity of the spirit that’s in us all.”

Home Secretary Yvette Cooper vowed to “always confront the threats facing this country”.

London Mayor Sir Sadiq said Londoners “will always choose hope over fear and unity over division”.

He added: “We remember the 52 people whose lives were stolen and our thoughts and prayers remain with their loved ones, and the more than 700 people injured by these cowardly acts of hatred.”

MANILA, Philippines — The Supreme Court has affirmed the conviction of a man for parricide but reduced his penalty after finding that his sudden outburst of uncontrolled emotions, triggered by years of abuse from his father, qualifies as passion or obfuscation—a mitigating factor that can reduce the punishment for the crime. “The Court deems the
