And United are were on course to join the trio after reaching a £10million deal with the streaming powerhouse.

That’s according to The Athletic, who claim talks between Amazon and United over the series took place for several “months”.

Red Devils boss Ruben Amorim is said to have voiced his displeasure at the proposed series to the United brass.

And Portuguese’s protestations were ultimately heeded by Sir Jim Ratcliffe and Co, who decided not to greenlight the financially lucrative series.

‘I promised myself I was out’ – Ex-RTE star Joe Duffy lands unexpected new gig just one week after leaving Liveline

FORMER RTE star Joe Duffy has swapped the airwaves for aisles in a new role just one week after leaving Liveline.

The legendary host, who confirmed his shock departure after 37 years at the start of last month, bid a final farewell to beloved listeners last week.

His final show was filled with friends, fans and unforgettable past callers sharing their fond memories and praising Joe for being the “voice of the people”.

But just one week after hanging up his mic – Joe is back.

This time he’s fronting a brand new campaign with supermarket giant Lidl.

Lidl Ireland dropped a sponsored video today with the broadcaster playing a central role in the funny clip.

Dressed in a suit and hat, Joe was disguised as a private detective as he wandered through the shop’s aisles.

As he stepped into Lidl, the title, ‘Value Beyond Belief – Episode 1’, appeared on the screen.

The familiar voice then narrated the video, saying: “I promised myself I was out. No more talk, no more questions. Just an average Joe. But questions – they don’t take no for an answer.”

One shocked shopper exiting the store could then be heard asking: “Is that Joe Duffy?”

In a playful nod to his days championing consumer concerns, Joe explained he’d “received an anonymous tip from a Ballinasloe woman named Margaret Mary O’Brien” and felt he had to take the case.

The ad closed on a cliffhanger, teasing: “To be continued…”

Meanwhile, Duffy has officially ended speculation and ruled himself out of the running to become President.

The former Liveline host, who had been touted as a possible candidate, said he had not been approached by a party to run following his final show.

He put the matter to bed and said: “Thanks, but to be absolutely clear I am NOT seeking a nomination from any politicians, local or national, for the office of President.

“I will not be adding anything further.”

OFF AIR

During Duffy’s final Liveline show, Taoiseach Micheál Martin came on air and gave a tear-jerking tribute saying: “I just want to take the opportunity to thank you sincerely.

“You were and are the voice of the people. You’re authentic and give the people a platform. I think you never left your roots, your working class background stood to you. The values your parents gave to you.

“And on a personal level, going back to my student days, where you taught me a few things when I was a student activist.”

Joe interrupted the politician’s speech and joked: “You forgot them quick enough now.”

Martin told Joe he has touched his family and his “personal acts of kindness” have been “quite extraordinary”.

He spoke about how Joe took photos of Martin holding his daughter Léana during a crab-fishing day out in Cork and Joe sent them to him after Léana’s death, aged 7, in 2010.

Martin said: “That’s something Mary and I have always treasured.”

Beauty influencer left ‘disfigured’ after she was tied up, doused with bleach and ‘raped’ by gunmen in horror burglary

A WOMAN was left “disfigured” after three men allegedly broke into her home in Marseille and savagely attacked her.

Soraya Riffy, a 30-year-old influencer, told French paper Le Parisien how armed intruders beat her and left her unconscious during a terrifying burglary.

Soraya suffered facial fractures and ‘numerous cuts all over her body’, according to her lawyer[/caption]

Three “armed” men allegedly “tied her up, beat her up and sprayed her with bleach” on Friday, according to Le Parisien.

A spokeswoman for Soraya said on Instagram that “she is destroyed psychologically” after the attack, which she said took place after a man arrived at her home posing “as a neighbour who did not have his keys” at around 9.30pm.

The man then stormed into the flat, joined by other armed intruders, she added.

For over an hour and a half, the attackers “tied her up, beat her at gunpoint and with box cutters, and threatened to kill her if she didn’t give them money”, the spokeswoman said,

When she tried to free herself, an attacker put a gun to her head, reports French newspaper Le Parisien.

As a result of tape being placed over her mouth, Soraya suffocated and convulsed, the newspaper adds.

Soraya was left with multiple facial fractures and “numerous cuts all over her body”, her lawyer Tom Michel said.

He said that Soraya lost consciousness during the attack, with the result that she does not know about her attack.

‘Because of the pain and marks on her body, we unfortunately suspect sexual assault, or even rape,” said Michel.

She woke up covered in bleach “no doubt to erase the DNA traces of her attackers”, Michel said.

The men fled the scene, taking with them “a Cartier bracelet, her house and car keys, two luxury bags and a Rolex watch”.

Michel said “they knew very well who she was”, adding that “like many female influencers, Soraya Riffy has a lifestyle on the internet that can appear quite luxurious”.

“She has been racketeered except that, unluckily for her attackers, she has no money,” added her spokesperson.

Soraya posted a video on social media showing her face battered and bruised from the brutal attack.

She said: “I’m so disgusted. What I’ve been through today is horrible.”

She has been interviewed by police officers at the hospital, report French outlets.

Cops have reportedly launched an investigation into armed robbery, kidnapping, death threats and gang violence.

She told Le Parisien: “I’m disfigured, disgusted and frightened. Too much media exposure leads to danger.

“I’m going to leave Marseille permanently, leave social media for the time being, I’m lost.”

One of the latest posts written by her spokesperson on Sunday mentions threatening emails sent to extort money from her.

“She had repeatedly alerted the authorities to the threats against her,” her lawyer said.

Soraya rose to fame in 2016 after appearing on the French TV talk show, Touche pas à mon poste (Don’t touch my TV set).

She’s known for sharing her views on fashion and fitness, as well as promoting body positivity and self-confidence to her one million Instagram followers.

Many fans of Love Island have taken to social media as they claimed there may have been a clique within the Majorca villa.

On a thread titled ‘The Mean Girls trio – Meg, Megan and Helena’ on social media fan forum site Reddit, fans fumed that Meg, Megan and Helena were not being so respectful to the rest of the girls.

One viewer claimed: “I’m really not liking the bully-ish vibes coming from the cliquey trio of Meg, Megan, and Helena.

“They tried it with Shakira at the start, but she knew how to handle them.

“Same with Malisha — there was an attempt, but thankfully Alima and Shakira backed her.”

However, in a new sit-down interview with ITV’s The Rundown, Megan Forte Clarke, 24, has insisted that the divide on-screen was not the same in real life.

Podcast host Daniel Ajose suggested that it seemed that “friendship groups were constantly beating each other.

Megan admitted: “Do you know what? Being in there, it doesn’t feel like that whatsoever.

“Of course, like, the girls have the ones they’d naturally gravitate towards, like, you’re just naturally close to people.

“It’s like school, everyone’s not like sisters holding hands. But that being said, in there doesn’t feel like that whatsoever.”

The star admitted that although she was friendly with the likes of Emily and Helena, she also did sit and chat with the other girls.

She hinted that some of the other chats may have not been shown on-screen.

Megan continued: “Because, I know I’ve been, like, put with Hel [Helena] and Meg, they’re like my girls in there and Emily.

“But I’d sit with Shakira and Toni just as much. And Alima, like we were on, and Yasmin as well.”

The 30-year-old Australian model and YEEZY architect shared a sizzling new snap on Instagram on Sunday.

Bianca could be seen posing for controversial rapper Ye, 48, whom she married in 2022.

She was seen rocking a plunging bodysuit with her breasts and cleavage on full display.

Risking a total wardrobe malfunction, with one move, Bianca was at risk of baring all.

Posing in front of a sheer curtain, Bianca rocked a blond wig and put on a very sexy and sensual display in the process.

‘MODERN DAY MARILYN MONROE’

“Modern day Marilyn Monroe,” swooned one person in the comments section.

“Classy,” added another.

“Gorj,” penned a third.

“Body: 10/10. Outfit: still loading,” quipped a fourth.

Attention quickly turned to husband and his photography skills, with many of his fans praising his Polaroid snap.

“Ye best photographer,” said one.

“Music, fashion, photography, is there anything this guy can’t do?” asked another.

While a third critiqued: “[I] like some of YE’s song BUT WHAT THE F**K DOES HE KNOW ABOUT POLAROIDS?”

Bianca Censori and Kanye West's relationship

Bianca Censori was born on January 5, 1995, in Melbourne, Australia

Before her current full-time job, the 30-year-old started a jewelry company called Nylons after leaving high school.

After working as a student architect for three years, she completed a master’s degree between 2019 and 2020 ahead of moving to Los Angeles.

In a radio interview, a childhood friend of Bianca’s claimed that Kanye slid into her DMs on Instagram.

The rapper reportedly said, “Come and work for me.”

At which point she says the designer moved to LA to join his company Yeezy as the “head of architecture” – and has been since November 2020.

WEDDING BELLS

On Friday, October 6, 2023, The Daily Mail reported Kanye and Bianca wed on December 20, 2022.

The couple tied the knot under a “confidential marriage license” in the state of California.

The two wed in Palo Alto, California, according to the document.

The wedding came just one month after Kanye and Kim Kardashian finalized their divorce.

Bianca posted some more sizzling shots just days ago, where she donned a different blond wig and another very revealing outfit.

KANYE’S VISA TROUBLE

The onslaught of snaps come just days after it emerged Kayne’s visa to her native Australia has been cancelled, as per the Mail.

“He’s been coming to Australia for a long time.

“He’s got family here and he’s made a lot of offensive comments that my officials looked at again,” home affairs minister Tony Burke said to ABC.

“Once he released the Heil Hitler song, he no longer has a valid visa in Australia,” he went on.

Shortly after Kanye’s divorce from Kim Kardashian in 2022, the rapper began dating Bianca, with the pair getting married just days after his divorce from the SKIMS founder was finalized.

Since their nuptials, Kanye and Bianca often step out in sizzling and NSFW displays.

Bianca seemingly has a penchant for wearing very little clothing, and often steps out in public with her breasts and private regions on display.

Moment drug smugglers set fire to own yacht to destroy huge cocaine haul after being chased by cop boat off hols hotspot

THIS is the dramatic moment drug smugglers set their own yacht alight to destroy their gargantuan cocaine haul.

Moments before, the two men had been chased by a police boat just off the coast of holiday hotspot Tenerife.

Cops sprayed the boat to put out the flames

Unbelievable footage shows the tense boat chase, with multiple cop yachts surrounding the drug vessel.

Once the smugglers realised there was no escape it seems, they deliberately set the boat on fire.

The panicked smugglers are seen trying to start a blaze – and are eventually successful.

The pair risk their lives on the choppy sea as the boat quickly becomes engulfed in flames.

The blaze not only put themselves in danger but surrounding cops too, as the vessel could have exploded at any time.

Cops were captured in the footage desperately trying to put the fire out with strong hosepipes.

The drug smugglers, one of French nationality and the other Dutch, jumped into the sea.

One of them was said to be very seriously injured.

The sailing boat was intercepted by the police about 50 miles from the Canary Islands.

The boat eventually sank, taking most of the drugs down with it, but the crew of the police patrol boat “Sacre” managed to recover 25kg of cocaine.

The operation was part of the plan to intensify the investigation, surveillance and control of the cocaine smuggling in the Canary Islands.

A tip-off was received about a boat close to the holiday island, and was said to contain a significant amount of narcotic substance on board.

The plan was to transfer the haul to another boat, a semi-rigid type, which would be take the drugs to the Spanish coast.

A police spokesman said: “The maritime operation was highly risky for Custom’s patrol officers due to the rough seas and the fire intentionally set by the vessel’s crew to destroy the cocaine and the sailboat.

“The swift action of Customs Surveillance Service officers allowed them to initially extinguish the fire and complete the boarding of the vessel.

“They also recovered part of the cargo before the fire reignited, ultimately destroying most of the haul of cocaine and the vessel transporting it, a sloop named Lona.”

The two crew members of the sailboat have been arrested.

The man who was seriously injured in the fire was transported, presumably to hospital, via chopper by Maritime Rescue.

The two Customs Surveillance Service vessels, along with the detainees and the recovered drugs, were brought into Tenerife’s capital of Santa Cruz.

The operation was carried out by the Civil Guard, National Police and Customs Surveillance  in association with the British and American authorities.

Two drivers fined €150 each at popular Irish beach for disrespectful reason as urgent warning issued

TWO drivers were hit with €150 fines each at a popular Dublin beach for using the disabled parking bay without a permit.

Gardai issued the fines to the motorists at Dollymount Beach in Clontarf over the weekend.

Gardai fined two drivers for using disabled parking spots without a permit
X @GardaTraffic

When gardai quizzed one of the drivers, they replied: “I’ll move when someone with a disabled permit wants to park.”

A garda spokesperson said: “Gardai down at Dollymount Beach in Clontarf over the weekend issued both these drivers with fines for using the disabled parking bay without a permit. Please respect disabled parking bays.”

It’s an offence to park a vehicle in a disabled parking space unless the driver has a valid card.

If a motorist illegally parks in a disabled parking space, they will get a parking fine of €150.

This increases to €225 if it’s not paid within 28 days.

The fixed charge amount for misusing a disabled parking badge is €200 and this also hiked to €300 if you do not pay within 28 days.

Traffic wardens and gardai have the power to request and inspect a parking card to ensure it is not being misused.

Operation Enable was launched between An Garda Siochana, Dublin City Council, Dublin Street Parking Services, the Irish Wheelchair Association (IWA) and the Disabled Drivers Association of Ireland (DDAI).

The aim is to remind drivers of the need to respect the Disabled Parking Bays and to remind Disabled Parking Permit holders of the need to respect the conditions attached to the permits.

Award-winning advocate and author, Geraldine Lavelle, shared her personal experiences of navigating daily life as a disabled driver at the Disabled Drivers Association AGM.

She said: ”The ability to drive has had a profound and positive impact on my life, improving my ability to work, to socialise, and to manage my daily activities without relying on others.

“People with disabilities don’t enjoy asking for adjustments. We would just prefer if things were accessible in the first place and that includes having enough accessible parking bays, especially in popular areas.

TEXT ALERT CAMPAIGN

“It is disheartening to arrive somewhere and having to turn around and go home because there are either no accessible bays, there’s illegal parking or what is often worse, the space has been encroached upon, making it impossible for me to use.

“I would urge drivers not to invade any space in an accessible parking bay for this reason.

“I fully support the Association’s campaign for a Text Alert Scheme in every county as a safe deterrent to combat illegal parking.”

People took to the comments on X to share their thoughts on the incident.

One person said: “Unbelievable. Selfish in the extreme.”

Another said: “That is so inconsiderate and I see people doing it all the time then people with mobility challenges cannot park in these bays. Thank you.”

While another added: “Excellent job! The arrogance of that statement to a garda that they’ll move when someone wants to park.

“You can bet this isn’t their first rodeo breaking the rules of the road. I salute you.”

Reading boss Noel Hunt was thrilled to get a deal over the line

But having made his Premier League bow for Brighton at the tail end of the 2023-24 season when he featured as a sub three times, the Seagulls want him to get more experience.

Reading boss Hunt was thrilled to land his fellow Irish man who he believes can play a key role as the Royals look to win promotion from League One.

Hunt said: “Mark is a young hungry striker who wants to come in and develop at our club.

“He’s young and he wants to learn his trade after having a successful loan deal last year at Portsmouth in the Championship.

“He learnt plenty whilst playing at that level, which will stand him in good stead for the upcoming season.

“He’s another player who has come through a really strong Academy, and will be a great addition to our squad.”

Elsewhere, Ex-Ireland star Aaron Connolly has sealed a move to Leyton Orient.

Connolly has agreed a two-year deal with League One side Leyton Orient after stints with Sunderland and Millwall last season.

And Orient boss Richie Wellens is relishing the chance to work with the former Brighton striker.

Wellens said: “I tried to sign Aaron when I was at Swindon a few years ago, but he then scored a hat-trick against MK Dons in the EFL Trophy. Everyone was in for him after that.

“He’s talented, quick, good on the ball and skilful. He’s got an eye for goal, and he scored twice on his Premier League debut for Brighton.

“The ability is all there, and when I met him recently I got a really good vibe off him. I sense that there is a burning desire for him to do well

“If we can get Aaron firing, I have absolutely no doubt in his abilities.”

Calamity club once sponsored by Tyson Fury sack entire board for second time in just five days

MORECAMBE have sacked their board for the second time in just five days amid a dispute over the sale of the club.

Owner Jason Whittingham has released a statement affirming his commitment to selling the club.

But he has sacked the Morecambe board again – just three days after they were appointed after being terminated on July 2.

EFL bosses gave the green light to the Panjab Warriors consortium headed by London-based businessman Kuljeet Singh Momi at the start of June.

The takeover was expected to be completed today but Whittingham announced a delay, saying final details still need to be signed off.

A club statement from Whittingham read: “Bond Group Investments Ltd remains committed to the sale of its majority shareholding in Morecambe Football Club.

“In doing so we also remain committed to ensuring that staff are paid as soon as possible and the Club avoids administration.

“We made significant progress over the past few days, getting legal agreements drawn up and agreed in principle, subject to signing, with various stakeholders involved in the sale.

“Despite the expectation to complete today, unfortunately there are some final items to get signed off and it’s likely we will need tomorrow to complete the sale.”

The consortium initially set Whittingham a deadline of 4pm on July 1 and accused him of not having the funds to meet the club’s salary bill while threatening to call in the receivers.

BEST FREE BETS AND BETTING SIGN UP OFFERS

Whittingham responded by sacking the board for the first time, insisting it was the only way for Morecambe to find a solution to keep the club going while denying he was “stalling” on the sale.

In a statement explaining the move to fans, Whittingham said: “There is no doubt that the Club is in a precarious position and is at a crisis point.

“We also appreciate the stress this is causing for all connected with Morecambe FC.

“As majority shareholder we are making every effort to resolve any issues that have arisen and are working to protect the best interests of the club.”

He added: “Bond Group Investments has started the process to dismiss the board in order that we can take control over the situation giving us the required additional time to ensure that the club has the best chance to avoid Administration.

“We hope the board put the interest of the club before any personal grievances and during this delicate time of negotiation to save the club, refrain from their propensity of issuing negative statements.

“The notion that Bond Group Investments is stalling is not true. We are deeply sorry for the distress and uncertainty this is causing.

“Bond Group Investments need to ensure that any transfer of shares, in a sale, is done in a way that holds no recourse for either the Club or Bond Group.

“The safety of the club’s future is paramount and our focus is to work to find solutions to resolve the matter of staff salary and the sale of the club to avoid administration at all costs.”

Morecambe, who were once sponsored by boxer Tyson Fury, were relegated from League Two last season, ending their ten year stay in the EFL.
