Arsenal ‘close in on Viktor Gyokeres transfer after Andrea Berta flies to Portugal for face-to-face talks with Sporting’

ARSENAL are close to securing the long-awaited signing of Viktor Gyokeres.

The Gunners have been desperate for a centre-forward and now appear set to get their man.

Gunners’ sporting director Andrea Berta flew to Portugal for talks at the end of last week to push the deal through, according to CNN Portugal.

SunSport revealed that Sporting feared Gyokeres would push through a reported threat to go on strike this week.

And the striker has now been given extended leave from pre-season as talks intensify.

However, Sporting are still not willing to buckle on their £68.9m (€80m) asking price.

Currently, Arsenal have indicated they are prepared to pay £56m up front and £8.6m in add-ons, which is a total of £64.6m.

But it seems certain that eventually, the Londoners will end up paying the £68.9m which Sporting want for a player they signed for just £20m from Coventry two years ago.

Ideally, Arteta would like Gyokeres at the club before Arsenal head to Singapore for their pre-season tour on July 19.

There have also been reports that Gyokeres is ready to pay a portion of his own transfer fee to push through the move.

Record claim that Gyokeres is willing to pay £1.7m (€2m) to meet Sporting’s demands.

Gyokeres had been heavily linked with Man Utd after a successful spell playing under Ruben Amorim when he was manager of the Portuguese champions.

But the Swede is said to have made clear that he is now only interested in a move to Arsenal.

Love Island Casa Amor boy Ty is secretly related to show star from previous series – can you guess who?

NEW Love Island Casa Amor hunk Ty is related to a villa beauty from a past series.

Tonight, the 23-year-old site engineer will make his show debut alongside with five other bombshells all vying to woo the girls and cement their place in the main villa.

Ahead of the episode, Ty’s cousin from the 2022 series took to TikTok to reveal their connection.

Cheyanne Kerr raised her hand to her mouth in surprise as the Love Island theme played, and she wrote: “POV: Your cousin just walked into the villa.”

One follower commented: “so excited for him. he’s the best boy on there.”

Another agreed, saying: “Best one out them all.”

When a fan asked Cheyanne who she thought Ty would go for, she replied: “I haven’t been watching it so I haven’t a clue who people are but from what I’ve seen I think Shakira maybe???”

She told another: “He likes a brunette tbh.”

Ahead of the series, Ty confirmed his type, saying: “I go off energy, if we vibe. I’ve typically dated brunettes, tanned, nice teeth with a nice smile.”

He added: “I’ve got my eyes on Shakira – she needs a Northern lad in there, our personalities would be the most matched I think.

“Emily seems like a really sweet girl, someone you could take home to your parents. Helena is really good looking but she needs taming! I reckon I’m the man for the job.”

Barnsley bombshell Cheyanne had been single for six months when she entered the villa.

She said at the time: “I am not wanting to upset anyone or hurt anyone’s feelings purposely but I am going in there for a reason and they’re going in for a reason as well.”

The blonde stunner hit it off with rugby league lad Jacques O’Neill in Casa Amor but ultimately left the show when he decided to stick with Paige Thorne.

Ferrari is building a 100-foot YACHT that can ‘fly’ over the water – and it won’t have an engine

FERRARI is building a 100ft yacht that is able to “fly” over the water with no engine.

The Hypersail project – designed by French naval architect Guillaume Verdier – uses foils to stay afloat rather than fuel.

The Hypersail project – designed by French naval architect Guillaume Verdier – uses foils to stay afloat[/caption]

Underwater wings are installed in the stunning design to lift the boat out of the water, reducing drag and increasing speed and allowing it to “fly”.

The monohull yacht Hypersail of Ferrari – while sailing – is able to balance itself on three points.

One is a foil attached to a special canting keel – a moving part under the yacht that helps it keep upright whilst adding speed at the same time.

The second is a foil on the rudder which helps steer the incredible vessel, and the third is one of the two side foils – depending on which direction the boat is turning.

The Ferrari boat is to measure 98ft in length, 65.5ft in width and 131ft height – making it the biggest fully foiling monohull to ever exist.

And Ferrari has even said it is st to be the first of its size in the world to be entirely energy self-sufficient.

No fuel or combustion engine will be used – but it will rely on renewable sources like solar power, wind power and kinetic energy, or even the energy created by the vessel’s movement due to the foils.

Architect Verdier is behind the design of the incredible vessel, and is responsible for the overall concept of stabilising the boat’s flight on the three points of contact.

Ferrari is yet to decide what kind of events the Hypersail would be entered for when it’s ready, according to Yachting World.

The company’s chairman John Elkann said: “[The] America’s Cup is regulated and this boat is thought to go beyond rules.

“This project gives us the chance to experiment in new areas.”

The Hypersail is currently being built in Italy.

Ferrari is hoping to finish the prototype by some point of 2026,

After that, it will be taken out on the water for sea trials.

These tests will be crucial in understanding how the yacht behaves and how the systems work together.

They will also show just how well the vessel can handle long trips using just renewable energy and its foils.

The team at Celebrity Hunted seem to love dipping into the Strictly Come Dancing talent pool for contestants.

But on this show he is competing against Welsh wonder Amy, as she is also taking part alongside her Strictly pal, Carlos Xu

It comes after the last series featured Kai Widdrington and Giovanni Pernice going on the run — and eventually getting caught.

Former Royal Marine and Paralympian JJ will be partnered with Sophie Morgan, which will be a Celebrity Hunted first as the presenter is a wheelchair user.

A TV insider said: “JJ and Sophie will prove an interesting pairing because when they’re forced to move around the country using various forms of transport it’s going to highlight lots of accessibility issues.”

Comedians Laura Smyth and Jen Brister complete this year’s line-up.

I exclusively revealed yesterday how Amy and Carlos were taking part in the upcoming series, which is set to air early next year.

They are up against former EastEnders star Brian Conley and his daughter Lucy as well as Love Island hunks Chris Taylor and Toby Aromolaran

At the weekend Scarlette Douglas and her brother Stuart — hosts of Channel 4’s Worst House On The Street — were also announced as contestants via Channel 4’s Sunday Brunch.

There is no hiding the fact that filming is already underway.

Chris and Toby have been snapped on the run by a fan, who took a selfie and posted it on Instagram.

But as anyone who watches the show will know, it is probably a red herring to throw the hunters off their scent…

The CBeebies Bedtime Story sofa has hosted some great guest stars over the years – but this week it gets its very first Superman.

Hollywood hunk David Corenswet, the latest actor to wear the iconic blue-and-red-caped suit for the big screen, will deliver a tale to help us all get off to sleep this week.

He will be delivering words from the book What Does Daddy Do? by Rachel Bright, which sees little girl Daisy wonder what her father does all day while she is at nursery.

Of course, David, who makes his debut as Superman in cinemas on Friday, isn’t the first superhero actor to deliver a bedtime story.

Others have included Chris Hemsworth who is famous for playing Thor, as well as Chris Evans who was Captain America and Jason Momoa who has portrayed Aquaman.

CBeebies Bedtime Story is on weekdays at 6.50pm on CBeebies and BBC iPlayer. David’s story airs on Friday at 6.50pm.

But I’ve a feeling this will be another one of those where more mummies tune in than kids…

Jodie Whittaker, Jason Watkins and Daniel Ryan are to join the BBC’s Dear England, a drama about Gareth Southgate’s career[/caption]

The BBC has revealed three more big names for its adaptation of the stage play Dear England, which chronicles the career of Gareth Southgate.

Former Doctor Who star Jodie Whittaker, The Crown actor Jason Watkins and Passenger’s Daniel Ryan have been added to the cast of the four-part drama.

They join Shakespeare In Love’s Joseph Fiennes who has already been announced as playing the former England manager.

Filming has started and it will air next year on BBC One.

Jodie plays the England men’s team psychologist, Jason is FA chairman Greg Dyke and Daniel is former assistant manager for the team, Steve Holland

Writer and exec producer James Graham said: “I’m so grateful to the world-class cast and creative team we’ve assembled.”

Madge ignores Sir Bob

Madonna has snubbed Live Aid At 40 documentary — meaning fans won’t see the star interviewed despite her two iconic appearances[/caption]

If you caught the first two episodes of Live Aid At 40 on Sunday, you’ll know the documentary is a fantastic celebration of this landmark event.

There’s a third and final episode to come on Sunday night on BBC Two – or you can watch them all on iPlayer now.

But the one thing you won’t see on there is an interview with Madonna, even though she appeared at both Live Aid in 1985 and Live 8 in 2005.

Other megastars who took part did agree to interviews and they include the likes of Bono and Sting

But even Sir Bob Geldof, who organised the original extravaganza four decades ago, couldn’t get the veteran singer to come on the documentary.

Producer Tanya Shaw told Broadcast magazine this week: “His email to ‘Madge’ sadly went unanswered.”

Perhaps he made the mistake of calling her Madge in the request?

Jared Harris has cider-restricted memories of when man first landed on the moon[/caption]

He’s very much a child of the 20th century space age, yet Jared Harris says he can’t remember much about the landmark moment man first landed on the moon in 1969.

The actor, who is about to hit screens in the third outing of sci-fi epic Foundation, told the Radio Times: “My older brother had discovered a bottle of cider and persuaded eight-year-old me to drink some.

“Only it wasn’t cider, it was paraffin.

“So we were having our stomachs pumped when Neil Armstrong was walking on the Moon.”

I think he can be reasonably excused from missing the historic feat.

Jared, son of the late hellraising actor Richard Harris, resumes his role as mathematician Dr Hari Seldon in the latest instalment of Foundation, which drops on Apple TV+ on Friday.

The show, which first aired in 2021, is based on Isaac Asimov’s novels.

GREAT British Sewing Bee judge Patrick Grant has revealed the BBC One show, which is back next Tuesday at 9pm, has a celebrity fan in the form artist Grayson Perry.

Patrick said: “I know he’s watched it – I’ve spoken to him about it and Philippa, his wife, certainly is a fan.”

Inside Sabrina Carpenter’s massive gigs at BST Hyde Park with huge special guests and private dining room backstage

TWO Duran Duran stars thrilled fans after turning up as surprise guests at Sabrina Carpenter’s huge BST Hyde Park show on Sunday night.

And insiders told me the Espresso singer personally asked Simon Le Bon and John Taylor to join her on stage.

A source said: “Sabrina is a massive Duran Duran fan and reached out to them herself to see if they’d come on board.

“It was kept a huge secret and people only found out when they came to rehearsals on Sunday morning.”

Sabrina, left, pulled a massive celebrity crowd for her second night of the event, with Spice Girls star Emma Bunton, models Cara and Poppy Delevigne and singer Fred Again all spotted dancing like mad in the crowd.

I’m told that all the stops were pulled out for Sabrina backstage, with a private dining room erected so she could eat in peace before going out on stage.

But while her team stayed to enjoy the after party, Sabrina was whisked away in a blacked-out 4×4 to go back to the posh Corinthia Hotel.

My mole added: “Sabrina’s team was massive but while most people stayed to party after the show, she headed straight to her hotel.

“These were two huge gigs for her and Sabrina put so much effort into getting it right for her fans.

“The moving platform, for example, she personally requested that it go right into the crowd because she wanted to get as close as she could to her fans.

“Both her sets went down a storm.

“Sabrina is one of the best bookings for BST and those shows will be remembered for a long time.”

Liam, pictured alongside brother Noel, has turned his back on booze and fags to keep his voice in check[/caption]

HE was the poster boy for bad behaviour in the Nineties but on the Oasis reunion tour Liam Gallagher has really cleaned up his act.

I’m told he has turned his back on booze and fags in favour of water and early nights to keep his voice in check for his shows with brother Noel, with Liam.

And given how good he sounded during the band’s first night at Cardiff’s Principality Stadium, Liam’s virtuous new lifestyle is clearly working a treat.

My tour insider explained: “Liam arrives 45 minutes before he goes on stage and leaves immediately afterwards.

“At Cardiff he had a car driven into the stadium to take him back to his hotel immediately. Liam is being a total professional and is laser-focused on giving Oasis fans the best show he can.

“It’s incredible to see how well behaved he is being. It’s like he’s properly grown up now.”

The brothers will kick off their run of five shows at Manchester’s Heaton Park on Friday night.

And while Liam might be teetotal, I don’t think the hundreds of thousands of fans who are due to see them perform will be doing the same.

I’ll certainly be having a skinful when I see the lads at Wembley later this month. I’ll have one for you, Liam.

BEYONCE appears to be channelling Kylie Minogue as her Cowboy Carter tour arrived in Washington DC.

The singer wore a veil – just like the Aussie singer in the video for her 2001 smash Can’t Get You Out Of My Head – as she posed backstage in a glittery dress.

Beyonce – on stage in Washington, – will now play four huge shows in Atlanta, starting on Thursday, before the last two dates of her tour in Las Vegas on July 25 arrive, Bey will have played to more than 1.2million fans across the globe.

It will be time for her to put her feet up for a bit before she gets back to work on her next album.

OLIVIA RODRIGO paid for her entire band and crew to have free therapy on her Guts world tour.

Opening up about the kind move, Olivia’s guitarist Daisy Spencer said on The Stage Left podcast: “Olivia and our tour manager Marty Hom made therapy accessible and free for all of the touring personnel.

“I have never had anything like that.

“And that reignited the importance of therapy to me because I had just kind of fallen off for so long.

“And then suddenly I had this free resource of incredible therapists, and I utilised the crap out of that.

“I was going, you know, once a week, once every other week, whenever I could.

“And it was even during the off time, we also still had access to this resource.

“So honestly, that was one of the coolest things that has ever happened on tour.

“It’s not very heard of. It was the coolest thing ever.”

Of Olivia, Daisy added: “She literally is the dreamiest boss of all time.

“I feel like she just has handled the upward trajectory of her career in the most amazing way that most human beings wouldn’t be able to do.

“She’s done it so gracefully and so effortlessly.”

STEREOPHONICS fans are in for an amazing Christmas, after the group announced an eight-date arena tour in December.

The group, fronted by Kelly Jones are playing the gigs off the back of their sold-out show at Finsbury Park last Friday.

Stereophonics will kick off in Nottingham on December 4 before playing in Newcastle, Sheffield, Aberdeen, Glasgow, Manchester, Birmingham and Liverpool.

They will finish with a huge gig at London’s O2 Arena on December 18. It’s been a huge year for the lads, after 13th studio album, Make ’Em Laugh, Make ’Em Cry, Make ’Em Wait, went to No1 earlier this year.

Tickets for the gigs go on sale on Friday at 9.30am, ahead of their two massive sold-out homecoming shows at Cardiff’s Principality Stadium this weekend.

JOHN LYDON has blasted his former Sex Pistols bandmates for censoring their lyrics to avoid causing offence.

Steve Jones, Glen Matlock and Paul Cook have reformed with Frank Carter instead of John as singer and have changed words to their punk anthems to play live.

John said he found it “appalling.”

He added: “They’re cutting down lines. The excuses are coming out. ‘You can’t say that in modern times.’ They’re offending me, they don’t seem bothered about that.”

John insists he will never play with the Sex Pistols again after they fought him in court over Danny Boyle’s Disney+ series about the band.

And he rejected a comeback for the 50th anniversary of their debut 1977 album Never Mind The B*ks.

When asked about a 2027 reunion, he said: “No. Why would I?”

LAUREN’S TITANIC HIT AS CELINE

Production photo of a musical cast performing on stage.
Mark Senior
Titanique is one of the most ridiculous and hilarious things you will ever see on the West End[/caption]

THE original Titanic moviemovieis a tear-jerking masterpiece, but Titanique turns that on its head.

The bonkers musical puts Celine Dion – who wrote the movie’s theme tune, My Heart Will Go On – at the centre of the story with the Canadian superstar claiming that she was actually on board the fateful ship.

From there, pandemonium ensues, with a camp and outrageous retelling of the classic love story, set to the music of Celine, all while leading lady and breakout star Lauren Drew does a spot-on impression of the notoriously quirky diva.

Packed with memes, an improvised section and even a Drag Race-style lip sync, this one-part show isn’t groundbreaking or heart-shattering.

It is one of the most ridiculous and hilarious things you will ever see on the West End but will guarantee you a bon voyage and send you sailing off home with a smile on your face.

Watch steamy moment Casa Amor heats up as Islanders snog newcomers in raunchy races game

CASA Amor is finally heating up, with both of the villas now filled to the brim with sexy singletons.

Single and ready to mingle, the villa girls have now met the hunky Casa Amor boys, almost 24 hours after the villa boys headed to the second villa to meet the sexy new girls.

And things are due to heat up with a game of Raunchy Races taking place in tonight’s episode.

Raunchy Races sees both villas play identical games, with the fastest villa winning a lavish party.

With questions like “lick the toes of the tallest Islander” and “snog the Islander with the most tattoos” – Raunchy Races is always a game that is surefire to cause a stir.

In a first look clip for tonight’s episodes, some of the Islanders can be seen locking lips with the newbies.

Yas could be seen smooching with a new hunk, while Harrison could be seen locking lips with a brunette beauty.

But it was the question involving “the most tattooed Islander” that left OG villa girl Meg reeling.

“Who’s got the most tattoos? D?” she said after hearing the question.

“Trust me, you don’t wanna see her when D comes back off a date,” Shakira said to the new guys in the main villa.

“Scary,” she chuckled.

“What?” Meg asked, seemingly confused and feeling attacked.

“No, it’s not,” she added in a defensive way.

Shakira then burst out laughing, leaving Meg even more fuming.

“I’m not laughing Shakira,” she said sternly.

“So it’s ok for Meg to laugh at the other girls expense but not the other way around?” said one person in the comments section.

“Unnecessary comment from Shakira tbh in my opinion,” added another, disagreeing.

Meanwhile, other fans were excited for the girls to meet new hunks.

“I hope there is a man for Toni Shakira and Yas,” penned a third.

“Queen’s Toni, Yasmin and Shakira deserve some real men,” said a fourth.

This comes after The Sun revealed that one lad bedded a Casa girl on the first night of the mid-series relationship test.

A source said: “Let’s just say they all followed that lad’s lead and on Sunday night things got feral – in the main villa AND in the Casa villa.

“There was multiple duvet tents with loads of them getting down to it and doing bits.

“The crew are all gobsmacked. It’s already the best Casa ever and we’ve not even had the brilliant recoupling showdown yet.

“Bosses will be deciding whether to air saucy Sunday at all but it isn’t likely to come to screens til Tuesday as there’s so much drama to fit in.”

Inside chilling sex robot factory in China pumping out legions of next-gen AI-powered $3,000 ‘love dolls’ for lonely men

CHINA is pumping out hoards of futuristic AI-powered “love dolls” at $3,000 a pop for lonely men.

The sex dolls have become creepily realistic – and China’s robot factories are at the centre of the revolution.

WMDoll, one of China’s leading sex doll makers, is expecting a 30 percent leap in sales this year, as men unable to find partners refuse to stay celibate.

Part of the uptick in interest comes from the enhanced “user experience” – which now makes use of the latest AI tech.

Founder and CEO Liu Jiangxia told South China Morning Post: “It makes the dolls more responsive and interactive, which offers users a better experience.”

WMDoll, based in based in Zhongshan, a city in southern Guangdong province, implants its dolls with its cutting edge “MetaBox” brains.

These boast an AI element which is connected to the cloud.

The dolls fire off signals to Large Language Models (LLMs), like ChatGPT, which process the incoming data.

Instructions bounce back to the dolls, telling them how to move and interact.

The next-gen dolls are built from synthetic flesh stretched over a metal skeleton, weighing roughly half the weight of real humans.

The skin is formed from silicone or a similar material to create a feel as realistic as possible.

Traditional sex dolls are limited to simple, mechanical responses.

WMDoll thinks their dolls’ ability to be more expressive gives them the edge.

The company says it can make dolls with roughly a whopping eight different “personalities” to choose from, which are able to continue a conversation that could have started a few days earlier.

WMDoll also gives its dolls an AI tool which works in pandering to its partner’s ego, with the ability to ask questions about their so-called “relationship” as well as how they’re feeling.

Founder Jiangxia said: “In the past, these dolls’ primary function was to satisfy users’ sexual needs.

“But as their physical features such as head and joint movements and skin became more realistic, our customers started to seek emotional companionship in the dolls.”

The company began to use AI in its dolls back in 2016, with the tech constantly improving due to open source AI.

The dolls are usually made with thermoplastic, which is heated to 37C – a human’s body temperature – to be as realistic as possible, with developers saying the creations have body sensors that also make them realistic.

A fellow doll manufacturer, Shenzhen Atall Intelligent Robot Technology, said previously that most of its doll buyers are 40 to 50-year-old men from Europe and the US.

Users can order custom-made AI dolls, priced at roughly £2,000 each, with soft and elastic skin made from rubbery plastic.

According to the company, US customers prefer dolls with darker skin and large breasts, buttocks and genitals.

While customers in China opt for Asian features.

China has been previously estimated to make roughly over 80 per cent of the world’s sex toys, with more than a million employed in the country’s booming $6.6 billion industry.

Chinese feminist Xiao Meili has said she believes that some men will always have outdated expectations of women – and “sex housewife robots” could help with this.

She said: “A lot of men want the same for women: sex, housework, childbirth and filial piety. They don’t think of women as individuals.

“If every nerd buys a sex doll for himself, […] that would free a lot of women from these kind of men.”
