What TV channel is Cork City vs Celtic on? Stream, kick-off time and ticket info as Brendan Rodgers’ men come to Ireland

CELTIC will grace the Pairc Ui Chaoimh pitch this evening in what will be a glamour friendly for Cork City.

Ger Nash’s under-fire troops will get a break from their struggles at the bottom of the League of Ireland Premier Division when this exhibition kicks off at 6pm.

Here’s everything you need to know around how to watch it:

WHAT TV CHANNEL IS CORK CITY VS CELTIC ON?

It’ll be shown live on Premier Sports 2. So subscribers with them or those with a NOW TV package will be able to stream it.

ARE TICKETS STILL AVAILABLE?

There are still plenty of tickets available around the 45,000 capacity stadium.

The cheapest ones on offer on Ticketmaster are set at €31.25 whilst the priciest hospitality suite types are €231.60.

WHAT’S BEEN SAID IN THE BUILD-UP?

Brendan Rodgers wants Celtic striker Johnny Kenny to sign a new contract before a decision is made on his short-term future.

The Parkhead boss spoke with the 22-year-old Ireland Under-21 attacker on yesterday morning about his plans. Kenny’s current deal runs until next summer.

The Sligo man netted the only goal against his former club Queen’s Park on Friday.

He will hope to build on that form against at SuperValu Páirc Uí Chaoimh in their second pre-season friendly.

Rodgers has not yet decided whether Kenny will remain with the squad this season or if a loan move will be arranged.

The Antrim native said: “I’ve been really pleased for Johnny since I’ve seen him close up in January.

“I think he’s improved, he’s developed, and I spoke to Johnny funnily enough this morning about his plan.

“We would really like him to sign another deal at Celtic and then we’ll decide what’s going to be the best for his development, whether it’s to stay or whether we think he needs another step, to go out.

“But he’s got a lot of strength and a lot of qualities, and he’s done very well since he came back in January.”

Rodgers insists that Celtic know where they need to improve in the transfer window, and is confident that they will do so.

The Bhoys have been linked with attackers such as Rapid Vienna winger Isak Jansson, Napoli and Italy Under-21  ace Giuseppe Ambrosino and Japanese striker Shin Yamada.

However, Rodgers was noncommittal when asked if enquiries had been made.

RODGERS COY

He replied: “When you’re a club the size of Celtic, you get linked to so many players and there’s so much gossip and speculation.

“But we’ve signed some really good players. We’ve signed some potential. And we also know we need to sign some players that can affect the team, because we lost some really important players.

“Kyogo in January and Nicolas Kuhn possibly leaving. So we know what we need to improve. And I’m pretty sure we will do over the summer.”

Kieran Tierney’s Celtic reappearance will not come on Leeside despite returning to training with the squad on their Irish tour.

Adam Idah will be back in his hometown for tonight’s game, but the remaining international players will sit out the fixture.

Rodgers confirmed: “Kieran won’t be involved. He’ll be at the game, he’s over, but the international players only started training on Friday.

“We would normally give them a week to train before them playing a game, but those guys will be there.”
