Now, another new food spot has opened in Dublin Airport, and passengers are very happy.

In recent months, the airport has been upgrading their food options, opening a range of new eateries to enjoy before you fly.

And now, the team has added the perfect dessert option, with passengers set for a frenzy.

SOS Cookies has seen a surge in popularity, with many taking to social media to share their opinions on the sweet treats.

Now, the company has announced a new location in Dublin Airport.

The cookie shop can be found in Terminal One.

The team at SOS Cookies shared a short video to TikTok to share a look at the new outlet.

In the caption of the post, the team wrote: “We are SO excited to announce… SOS Cookies has officially landed in Terminal 1, Dublin Airport!

“Your new favourite plane snack awaits.

“Come say hi, grab a cookie (or six), and start your trip the sweet way.”

In the video, an employee can be seen opening the shutters on the shop.

Panning around the premises, a counter full of a variety of cookies can be seen ready to purchase.

There are several different flavours on offer, catering to everyone’s taste.

And viewers were very excited to hear about the new opening, taking to the comments section of the video to share their opinions.

One commenter said: “I’M JUMPING WITH JOY.”

Another person wrote: “Bought two kinder cookies at half six this morning and travelled all the way to Malaga with them, 10/10 with a bag of lays.”

Another commenter joked: “Bad day to be flying Aer Lingus.”

Someone else commented: “Wow that’s fantastic news! Can’t wait to get some treats before my flight next Wednesday.”

NEW FOOD OPTIONS

Another said: “OMG SOOOO excited for this!!!”

In the comments section, the team revealed that the store will open at 5am every day.

It comes after the airport expanded their food options, with the opening of several new eateries.

Two of which include crispy Korean fried chicken from Kimbox, or sushi and Asian fusion from Boxx.

And a new coffee joint, Roasted Notes, also opened in the Terminal Two arrivals area.

Our leafy town is being overrun by fleet of caravan nomads who leave tyre streaks across cricket pitch & REFUSE to go

LOCALS have been left fuming after a fleet of caravan nomads forced the closure of a sports centre used by a top cricket club.

The large group of travellers have pitched up at Taunton Vale Sports Group, a training facility for Somerset County Cricket Club.

It has announced it will be closed for the foreseeable future after the unwelcome arrival overnight on Sunday.

The venue is where Somerset County Cricket Club’s Second XI and County Age Group teams play.

It is also the official outground for Somerset County Cricket Club.

Taunton Vale Sports Group said all cricket related activities have been cancelled “until further notice” with all fixtures needing to be either re-arranged or a new venue found.

Images also show vehicles have driven over the wicket itself – causing damaging tyre marks to the crease.

The sports club also provides a 3G football pitch, tennis courts, and a sports hall.

A spokesperson for Taunton Vale Sports Group said: “Overnight we have had a large group of travellers set up base at the Sports Club.

“All cricket related activities have been cancelled until further notice. The clubhouse will also remain closed.”

TVSC General Manager, Steve Archer revealed that all facilities will be closed, with the earliest reopening date expected to be Thursday, July 10.

Steve said: “The whole site will remain closed due to the Group of Travellers that are pitched up on our main cricket ground.

“This now includes our 3G Football Pitch, Tennis Courts and Sports Hall.

“We are in the process of gaining a court order to serve an eviction notice to the group.

“The earliest we look to have our facilities back operational will be on Thursday, 10th July 2025 if the eviction process runs smoothly.

“We will keep all of our members and venue hirers up to date.”

The centre closure is only only a few days after travellers had pitched up at Leslie Avenue and Greenway in Taunton – but this group has since moved on.

Local sports teams also use the 3G football pitch with an official Soccer Sixes Football League hosting teams at the site every Sunday and Tuesday.

Somerset County Cricket Club and Taunton Town Council have been approached for comment.

‘Most exciting horse in the world’ set for shock new jockey in £1m race with usual rider banned and Oisin Murphy snubbed

THE ‘most exciting horse in the world’ is set for a shock new jockey at Goodwood – with his usual rider banned and Oisin Murphy snubbed.

The awesome Field Of Gold is already odds-on for the blockbuster Group 1 Sussex Stakes at the Glorious meeting at the end of the month.

William Buick is set to ride ‘world’s most exciting horse’ Field Of Gold in the Sussex Stakes at Glorious Goodwood – with Juddmonte’s No1 rider Colin Keane likely to be banned for the huge Group 1[/caption]

But Juddmonte’s No1 rider Colin Keane will miss the race owing to a whip ban he picked up at Sandown last week.

Matt Chapman had argued for Kieran Shoemark to be reunited with the 2,000 Guineas runner-up.

But that looks a long shot with the stunning grey’s only defeat as a three-year-old coming at the hands of the former John & Thady Gosden jockey.

Oisin Murphy is a regular in the famous pink and green silks but it appears the Irishman – who was recently fined £70,000 for drink-driving – will be overlooked.

While Rossa Ryan, another who deputises in the Juddmonte colours, won’t get the chance either.

And, according to the Nick Luck Daily podcast, that has paved the way for William Buick to take the ride.

Buick and Gosden have a long and successful past, including landing this year’s Gold Cup with Trawlerman.

But the legendary trainer didn’t look best pleased in a video of him chatting to Buick after Ombudsman’s shock Coral-Eclipse defeat last weekend.

Godolphin’s No1 rider will get the chance to put that right for one of his employer’s biggest rivals at Goodwood, though.

Irish 2,000 Guineas and St James’s Palace winner Field Of Gold is 8-13 to win the Sussex.

Godolphin don’t currently look like having a runner in the race, with Richard Hannon’s Rosallion the 6-1 second fav and Aidan O’Brien pair Henri Matisse and The Lion In Winter both 10-1.

More to follow.

The UK’s ‘worst city break destination’ is home to the country’s cheapest pint

A CITY in the UK named the worst place for a break is actually home to the cheapest beer.

takepayments has discovered the most affordable cities across the UK, and in Derby, you can enjoy a refreshing pint for £3.60.

The city is the cheapest spot to grab a pint and is over a pound under the UK average[/caption]

The city in the East Midlands has sadly been dubbed as the ‘worst city break destination’ for 2025.

A survey conducted by Which? found that Derby came at the bottom when it came to what Brits want out of a day trip in the UK.

The survey involved 3,967 members assessing lots of cities based on factors like food and drink, accommodation, cultural sights, tourist attractions, shopping, and ease of getting around.

Derby received a score of two stars, with some even describing it as “rundown” and a “dump”.

However, there are plenty of reasons to love Derby – including its affordability when it comes to drinking.

The average pint in Derby costs just £3.60, which is £1.84 cheaper than the country’s average (£5.44).

And in cities like London, the highest average price of a pint sits at £6.50.

Along with the affordable pints, Derby has plenty of attractions too. One Sun Travel writer who lives near Derby proved that you can have a fun day out in the city.

Catherine enjoyed a day out at Moorways Sports Village which has a pool and at the weekend, there’s a huge inflatable on the water.

In the basement level is an indoor splash park with something to keep all ages entertained as well as slides and flumes.

On the outskirts of Derby is the Maze 52 attraction[/caption]

Moorways Sports Village also has a soft play centre and fitness studios too.

Another attraction is Maze 52, which is 7.2 acres in size, it’s not just going through the maze that’s the challenge, there are mini games inside too.

There’s a mini maze for younger visitors too as well as wildflower gardens for flower picking and great photo opportunities.

Maze 52 is seasonal and opens on July 26, 2025.

Another popular spot is Bluebell farm Park which is an Ice Cream Farm where kids can meet cows and there’s lots of play areas too.

The farm has a go-karting track, zip wires and a huge outdoor climbing frame.

Afterwards, get a snack at the cafe, or check out the ice cream parlour that has 26 flavours.

For more play opportunities, head to Markeaton Park which is one of the most-visited parks in the UK – and one of the most popular attractions in the country.

Inside the park you’ll find the Mundy Play Centre with a paddling pool, bouncy castle, mini golf, tennis court and a high ropes course.

Sun Travel also spoke to Ben Aitken, the author of Sh*tty Breaks: A Celebration of Unsung Cities who swapped the popular city break destinations for dupes.

Ben told us: “The worst pizza I’ve ever had was in Venice, so I’d rather go to Wolverhampton. I’d also swap Edinburgh for Dunfermline – given that they’re neighbours.

“I’d also say that Newport’s better than Cardiff – that’s going to get me into trouble. I’ve said it before that Sunderland for me is the best city in the North East, so I’d swap that with Newcastle.

“Limerick is a match for Dublin. I’m not going to say it’s better, but it’s half the price with half the crowds, and the Guinness is better there. And let’s give some love to Preston, I’d rather spend a weekend in Preston than in Lisbon.”

Here’s where to find the most popular UK cities for a holiday according to Which?.

And 17 of the UK’s best hidden gems to visit in 2025, according to our travel experts.

King Charles spotted with painful-looking red eye after suffering burst blood vessel ahead of Macron state visit

KING Charles has been spotted with a burst blood vessel in his eye ahead of welcoming Emmanuel and Brigitte Macron.

It is understood the Monarch’s right eye was affected overnight, and is said to be unrelated to any other health conditions.

It comes as Mr Macron kissed Princess Kate’s hand as the UK rolled out a red carpet to mark the first UK state visit in 17 years.

The French president, and his wife Brigitte, were greeted by the Prince and Princess of Wales at RAF Northolt this morning.

They have now been welcomed in Windsor by the King and Queen.

A carpet lining party, found by The King’s Colour Squadron, Royal Air Force, was rolled out for the arrival earlier.

The visit also comes as a new migration deal with France is set to be signed this week – with fears Labour will send them even more money.

Mr Macron’s three-day state visit will culminate in a summit with Sir Keir Starmer on Thursday, where a proposal would see France agree to take back a small boat migrant in return for Britain accepting one of their asylum seekers.

The PM’s spokesman has not ruled out more cash being handed to Paris in addition to the £480million already paid.

As the doors of the plane opened at RAF Northolt this morning, the president made his way down the steps first followed by the first lady, where they were met by the ambassador of the French Republic, Helene Duchene.

Mr and Mrs Macron were then welcomed by William and Kate.

The president warmly shook the prince’s hand and held onto his arm as they chatted.

Mr Macron then took the princess’s hand and delivered a gallant air kiss towards it.

Kate stepped out in elegant French fashion house Christian Dior and a hat by Jess Collett.

In a touching nod to her late mother-in-law, Kate has worn earrings that belonged to Diana, Princess of Wales.

And, to pay homage to the late Queen Elizabeth, she has donned the pearl necklace was from the late Monarch’s collection.

The Christian Dior jacket is the 30 Montaigne Rose Des Vents Bar Jacket and a piece from the 2024 collection.

It was reimagined by Maria Grazia Chiuri, who was inspired by the original first created in 1947 by Christian Dior himself.

Others in the welcoming committee were Metropolitan Police commissioner Sir Mark Rowley, RAF Northolt station commander Group Captain Jonathan Hough, the King’s ambassador in Paris Dame Menna Rawlings.

Ahead of his visit, the French president said: “This is an important moment for our two nations” as he promised “effective” action on issues including migration.

He said: “The United Kingdom is a strategic partner, an ally, a friend. Our bond is longstanding, forged by history and strengthened by trust.

“Together, we will address the major challenges of our time: security, defence, nuclear energy, space, innovation, artificial intelligence, migration, and culture.

“These are all areas in which we seek to act together and deepen our co-operation in a concrete, effective and lasting way.”

A carriage procession with the royals to Windsor Castle will unfold through High Street and up the Long Walk.

Windsor carriage procession

The King and Mr Macron will travel together through Windsor in the 1902 State Landau.

They will be followed by the Queen and Brigitte Macron in the Semi-State Landau, Buckingham Palace announced.

In the third carriage, the Ascot Landau, will carry the Kate and Wills, who will accompany France’s armed forces minister Sebastien Lecornu and French culture minister Rachida Dati.

The final two Ascot Landau carriages will transport French officials including Helene Duchene, the French ambassador to the UK, and General Fabien Mandon, chief of the military staff.

The processional route, lined through the town by the armed forces, takes in Datchet Road, Thames Street High Street, Park Street, Cambridge Gate, George IV Gateway to the Quadrangle of Windsor Castle.

Moment BBC News star makes bizarre peacock noises live on air – two years after middle finger gaffe

BBC News star Maryam Moshiri has left viewers stunned once again after her latest bizarre on-air stunt.

The popular news presenter is best known for accidentally displaying her middle finger live during a news bulletin two years ago.

It comes two years on from her middle finger blunder[/caption]

The unfortunate gaffe propelled her to viral stardom and she has now become well-known for her unusual antics whilst broadcasting.

Now, she has struck again – this time displaying peacock noises live on her show, The World Today with Maryam Moshiri.

The 47-year-old TV presenter made the noises shortly after a news package about a disruptive peacock causing chaos in one local village.

As Maryam came back into vision in the studio, she revealed how her producer had banned her from impersonating the said peacock.

Not one to be stopped, Maryam went ahead and made the sounds of a peacock anyway before moving swiftly onto the next item.

The telly favourite said: “I’ve been told specifically from my producer to not do an impression of a peacock so I’m going to do it anyway.”

Maryam then proceeded to squawk to replicate the bird.

Seconds later she said: “There we go, how amazing is that.”

Moshiri has become known for her on air gaffes, as in December 2023 her ‘viral’ moment came after camera began rolling and she didn’t realise she was on air as she pulled faces and made a swearing hand gesture to her colleagues.

Apologising on Twitter/X, Maryam told followers: “Hey everyone , yesterday just before the top of the hour I was joking around a bit with the team in the gallery.

“I was pretending to count down as the director was counting me down from 10-0.. including the fingers to show the number.

“So from 10 fingers held up to one.

“When we got to 1 I turned finger around as a joke and did not realise that this would be caught on camera.

“It was a private joke with the team and I’m so sorry it went out on air!”

Despite the error, the BBC backed the star and even handed her her very own show on the BBC News channel.

Some of her other infamous moments include being caught bending a spoon live on air, imitating a bird as part of a report on seagulls, forgetting she was live on air for a Eurovision special and being shouted at for attempting to expose a tattoo on her hip.

BBC News' Biggest Blunders

The Beeb has suffered a number of gaffes recently, here we take a look at the biggest, and funniest, mishaps to date:

Novak Djokovic appears in agony and gets into worrying position after ‘struggling with breathing’ at Wimbledon

NOVAK DJOKOVIC battled past Alex de Minaur to book a quarter-final spot at Wimbledon for the sixteenth time.

But the Serb was made to work for the victory after being hammered 6-1 in the opening set, before coming back to win all of the remaining sets 6-4.

And during the match he looked visibly uncomfortable as he crouched down holding his head during a break between games.

It was even thought that Djokovic may have been suffering from stomach pains as he was seen massaging himself heavily.

But Djokovic insisted after the match: “No, no, it was all good.

“It was just trying to manage, sometimes, the breathing after thirty-plus-shot rallies from the back of the court.

“You need a breather and you don’t have much time, so that was the case [with the massaging].”

Djokovic’s win set up a quarter-final with Italian 22nd seed Flavio Cobolli.

And he is still on course for a semi-final with world no.1 Jannik Sinner, who had to rely on an unfortunate injury to his opponent in order to keep up his end of the bargain.

Bulgaria’s Grigor Dimitrov was two sets up against the Australian and US Open champion and dictating proceedings before screaming out “my pec, my pec”.

Following that injury, Dimitrov was forced to retire from the match leaving Sinner to face America’s Ben Shelton in the quarter-final.

And Djokovic and Sinner remain on course for a grandstand finale against Wimbledon champion Carlos Alcaraz should they win through their half of the draw.

Irish holidaymakers warned over little-known beach rule that can lead to major €750 fine in top sunshine spot

IRISH holidaymakers are being warned about a little-known rule in a top sunshine spot that could land you a hefty €750 fine.

In a bid to prevent antisocial behaviour, some Portuguese towns have introduced fines for peeing in the sea in an effort to improve the quality of their white sandy beaches.

Toilets are available for free or for a small charge in most public beaches in Portugal[/caption]

The measure will fine Irish tourists as much as €750 if they are caught peeing in the sea.

Portuguese authorities have introduced the rule in a bid to protect their “ocean’s biodiversity and coral reefs.”

Irish tourists are advised to use toilets which are available for free or for a small charge in most public beaches in Portugal.

And public urination is also banned on land too.

Peeing in the sea is also banned in some areas in Spain as part of broader efforts to combat over-tourism.

Popular resort towns, including Marbella, have also implemented strict rules to protect their sea life.

The new measure which was approved last month will fine tourists as much as €750 if they are caught peeing in the sea, according to local media.

The measure makes up part of the new ordinance for the use of the area’s beaches.

It’s not the only beach in Spain that has banned people from peeing in the ocean.

In 2022, Vigo introduced the new rules which ban urinating “in the sea or on the beach.”

Anyone caught – despite not being clear how it is enforced – could also be fined €750.

Another crackdown on Spanish beaches is the use of beach sunloungers.

Anyone caught trying to save a space with an umbrella or lounger could be fined up to €250.

Irish holidaymakers could also be fined up to €1,000 for using phones while driving or even idling at traffic lights.

Lake Como region in northern Italy have also rolled out stricter phone use aimed at limiting any distraction while walking.

And the new measure has been introduces as a safety measure as the use of mobile phone when walking and not using a pedestrian crossing when there is one can led to serious incidents.

And it can land you fines up to €500.

Elsewhere, tourists heading for Spain are being warned of sizzling temperatures and thunderstorms set to blast the country.

Temperatures soared as high as 46.6C across Europe last week as a blistering heatwave shut schools and workplaces and recorded multiple deaths last week.

A number of holiday hotspots in Spain are expecting severely high temperatures of 40C this week, while other areas will be hit with thunderstorms.

Spain’s State Meteorological Agency, AEMET, has warnings in place for a number of popular holiday spots including Seville, Alicante, Mallorca, Madrid and Girona.

A “severe high-temperature warning” has been issued for Seville, the Córdoba Countryside, Guadalquivir, Morena and Condada.

Katie Taylor’s dad Pete shares childhood pic as boxing icon, 39, prepares for ring return vs Amanda Serrano

KATIE Taylor’s father Pete shared a brilliant throwback photo as she prepares to return to the ring once again.

Having turned 39 last week, The Bray Bomber will fight Amanda Serrano for a third time in New York on Friday night/Saturday morning.

As fight week is upon us, Pete paid tribute to his trailblazing daughter.

Alongside the image of them posing with their fists clenched, Pete captioned it with a prayer.

It read: “God arms her with strength and keeps her way secure. He makes her feet like the feet of a deer; he causes her to stand on the heights.

“He trained her hands for battle; her arms can bend a bow of bronze.”

KT believes she gave one of her greatest ever performances last November when she defeated Serrano for a second time.

And the Bray bruiser is keen to dish out more punishment when the old rivals meet for the third time on July 11 at Madison Square Garden.

The so-called trilogy fight will headline the first-ever all-female card at the legendary boxing venue.

Taylor leads the series 2-0 after judges unanimously found in her favour against the Puerto Rican at AT&T Stadium last November.

Taylor also won via a split decision when the pair first fought at MSG in April 2022.

The 2012 Olympic gold medallist — who fought her first fight as an amateur in 2001 — said: “It was definitely one of my best performances.

“I love the way I was able to push her back and outfight her. I think I outboxed her in the first fight. I actually outfought her in the second.”

That view is at odds with Netflix commentary team of Mauro Ranallo, ring legend Roy Jones Jr and actress Rosie Perez. Ranallo and Perez claimed the judges had got it wrong. Jones Jr sided with the winner.

Throughout the broadcast — viewed by 75 million fight fans worldwide — Ranallo and Perez had controversially suggested it was a one-sided contest in favour of Serrano.

Taylor, however, has long since shrugged off the pundits’ objections.
She added: “I recently looked back at that fight and if you turn the commentary off, it’s actually a very, very clear win for me.

“There was no controversy whatsoever. The commentary made it controversial but I was very happy with that performance.

“But there’s still more I can do as well, which is very positive for me. It was a great performance but I feel like I still haven’t shown my best. That’s very, very exciting for me.”

The first fight between the pair, was the first women’s bout to headline the Garden. But with Taylor two-up, what is her motivation for a third contest?

The 39-year-old replied: “I just want to be involved in the biggest fight possible. After the last fight, I knew this was still the biggest fight that people were talking about.

“People were interested in seeing a third fight. Because of that, I wanted to step back in there again. I don’t need this fight, she does. And so I just want to be involved in these big fights.

“So to have a chance to be a part of an all-female card in Madison Square Garden again, live on Netflix, this is a one-in-a-million kind of opportunity. I feel very, very privileged and blessed to be in this position, really.”

Taylor’s professional boxing record stands at a remarkable 24-1 and she has reached the pinnacle of her sport in the amateur and pro ranks.
