THE 2 Johnnies have been revealed as a headline act at a huge Irish festival this October – and tickets go on sale this Friday.

The iconic Puca Festival will take place for a second year in a row in Co Meath in a spook-tacular Halloween extravaganza.

Working in partnership with Irish artists, seanchai storytellers, and the local community, Puca Festival 2025 will offer four unforgettable days and nights of music, myth, food and folklore.

And Ireland‘s favourite funny lads will be fronting the festival alongside a lineup of impressive acts.

The 2 Johnnies will take to the stage at the festival for a special set, as well as Blindboy, Emma Doran, Dublin comedian Jason Byrne and podcast favourites Young Hot Guys.

Festival goers will also be treated to a stunning performance from The Dublin Gospel Choir in their Moonlight: The Philip Lynott Enigma show.

As the sun sets and the ceremonial fire is lit on Friday, October 31 visitors will gather at the Fair Green in Athboy to join the Lighting of the Samhain Fire to honour their ancestors.

The heritage town of Trim will host four nights of supernatural spectacle, music, and comedy, set against the stunning backdrop of Trim Castle, including the The Púca Procession: The Gathering of the Spirits on Saturday, November 1.

And as Halloween historically marked the end of the harvest season, the Puca Festival embraces the quality of the local produce on its doorstep in Boyne Valley.

Visitors can expect to indulge in traditional barmbrack, colcannon and baked apples as they immerse themselves in the local offerings at the Harvest Market.

New for 2025, on Halloween night, the Puca Festival Samhain Banquet will also take place at the Darnley Lodge. 

This year’s festival theme is Connecting with Our Roots which draws on the physical and emotional ties to Ireland and our ancestral past during Samhain.

While Trim and Athboy are serviced by a strong public transport network, there are plans to add a number of Puca Bus services to bring visitors from Dublin, Drogheda and Kildare.

In addition, there will be regular shuttle buses running between Trim and Athboy throughout the festival.

Many more acts will be added to the line up over the coming weeks, and festivalgoers are advised to keep an eye on www.pucafestival.com for news.

Tickets for the Halloween spectacular event are set to go on sale this Friday, July 11 at 10am on the Puca website.

Their music mogul father, 55, was acquitted of the most serious charges of racketeering and sex trafficking this week after a weeks-long trial in Manhattan, New York.

But he was found guilty of two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution and remains behind bars ahead of his sentencing hearing.

His family are now trying to move on with their lives as Combs faces sentencing which could leave him imprisoned for years.

Twin 18-year-olds Jessie and D’Lila have now announced the launch of their clothing line – with the bizarre name 12Twinty1 – in a post to Instagram.

They said: “We’ve been waiting our entire lives for this moment – and it’s surreal to finally share it with you.

“This isn’t just a brand. It’s our story. Our bond. Our roots.

“@12twinty1 was created with purpose, built from who we are, not just what we wear.

“The name reflects our birthday, December 21st, but it means so much more:

The pair have a whopping 780,000 followers on Instagram and the post has quickly racked up tens of thousands of likes.

But they have not shared any pictures or drawings of their clothes yet.

Their father Combs had his own clothing line called Sean John, which is still owned by the disgraced rapper.

But he won’t be making too many sales from the brand anytime soon after he was found guilty of two counts of transportation for purposes of prostitution.

Each charge has a maximum sentence of 10 years in prison, but they have no minimum punishment.

That potential sentencing could have been a lot longer if he had been convicted of racketeering conspiracy and sex trafficking.

Combs and his family appeared elated at the news, and the rapper said “I’ll be home soon” to his mom as he walked out of the courthouse.

However, legal experts have warned that he shouldn’t celebrate too soon, as they speculate that the rapper will likely have to spend some time behind bars.

BUSINESS EMPIRE

The star was running multiple businesses before his scandal, including Revolt TV, which he founded, and his fashion brand Sean John, which vanished from Macy’s.

Combs also reportedly lost a Hulu reality series deal. 

However, his music catalog remains intact for the time being.

Combs kept his label Bad Boy Records relevant before he was arrested and backed the likes of Machine Gun Kelly’s ‘Mainstream Sellout’ in 2022.

In 2023, he also dropped The Love Album: Off the Grid, his first solo album in nearly two decades.

The same year, singer Janelle Monae also released her celebrated record The Age of Pleasure through Bad Boy.

Asked if he thinks he could build his empire back up, Faddis said, “It’s not unheard of in America for folks who have, you know, been formerly disgraced to kind of make a comeback.

“I think he’s going to try [but] whether America has the stomach for that at this point is an open question.

“I think, legally speaking, it is certainly a victory for Diddy, but I think we [have] to be careful, because there are a lot of sensitive issues at play here, just because the jury found that he was not guilty. That’s not the same as finding that he was innocent.

“What the jury found was that the Government couldn’t meet its burden with respect to those charges. That’s not the same as saying those things didn’t happen.”

Combs was previously forced to apologize to fans after previously denying physically assaulting ex Ventura when CNN published an exclusive hotel surveillance video from 2016.

The footage showed Combs appearing to grab, shove, drag, and kick the singer in a hotel hallway.

“My behavior on that video is inexcusable. I take full responsibility for my actions in that video,” he said in a video statement posted on Instagram.

“I was disgusted then when I did it. I’m disgusted now,” he added. “I went and I sought out professional help. I got into going to therapy, going to rehab. I had to ask God for his mercy and grace. I’m so sorry. But I’m committed to be a better man each and every day. I’m not asking for forgiveness. I’m truly sorry.”

Combs fell to his knees on Wednesday when the verdict was read out in a Manhattan courtroom, and he was acquitted of the most serious charges in his criminal case.

The U.S. Sun obtained a letter from the prosecution sent to Judge Arun Subramanian regarding the star’s sentence for two counts of engaging in prostitution, which is yet to be decided.

They say the guideline sentence for him is just 51 to 63 months [five and a half years maximum], and he has already been behind bars for nine months.

It reads, “The Government notes, however, that the Guidelines applicable at sentencing may be higher than this preliminary calculation.

“The Government has not had adequate time to carefully
consider all potentially applicable Guidelines provisions.”

RENTERS will be forced to pay €3,000 a month for “dark shoeboxes” following a rule change to shrink the minimum size of apartments, it has been claimed.

The Government has been accused of bending over backwards to entice developers to get back to building apartment blocks as the Housing Minister today dropped rules around the standards of homes that can be built in Ireland.

Minister James Browne issued new guidelines which reduced the minimum size for a studio apartment from 37 square metres down to 32 square metres.

He also scrapped a rule where only 50 per cent of a development could be one bed or studio apartments.

The new rules also allow for apartment blocks to have fewer windows and elevators and end the need for community or communal spaces in developments.

Minister Browne said he was dropping the standards “to ensure apartments are viable to build” as international investment in Ireland’s housing market has dried up in recent years.

The move came under fire from across the Dail today as TDs accused the Minister of enabling developers to build shoebox apartments to boost their profits.

Social Democrats TD Rory Hearne said the measures will only serve to increase the profits for developers and won’t do anything to reduce the price of rents or buying a home.

He said: “There are a number of extremely concerning aspects to this in particular the reduction in size of studios that were already really, really small.

“We’re going to see young people in this country facing the option of moving out of their childhood box rooms into dark shoeboxes for €3,000 a month.

“This isn’t a future for our young people. This isn’t housing that will provide homes and futures for families or individuals.

“It is simply about increasing the profits of investors.”

EMERGENCY MOTION

Dublin City Councillors this week passed an emergency motion accusing the Government of “gutting” the provision of community and cultural spaces in apartment complexes.

Opposition parties also questioned the motivation behind the changes as they asked to see what evidence was available to prove that reducing the size of apartments would mean that more homes would be built or prices would fall.

Labour’s housing spokesman Conor Sheehan said: “This is another set of changes that have not been modelled by the Minister.

‘NO EVIDENCE’

“He has no evidence other than what developers have told him.”

Minister Browne claimed that the ability to squeeze more apartments into complexes will cut building costs by between €50,000 and €100,000 per apartment.

He said: “If you effect the viability you don’t get the apartments built at all and that’s simply not the way to address this.

“We’re in an housing crisis. I’m treating it as a housing emergency.”

“I had a great relationship with the manager before, I would have had a lot of say in a lot of meetings, I would have taken a lot of meetings.

“So in a way a lot has changed, but in a strange way nothing really has changed, if you know what I mean.

“I pick the team now, I suppose, but again I’m picking the team with the staff and previously I was helping the manager pick the team.

“I’ve obviously got a personal relationship with the manager, he’s a friend of mine, so as I said before, I think we’ll be friends forever.”
