Horse racing tips: ‘She relishes every yard of this trip’ – Templegate’s 3-1 NAP can land a quickfire double

TEMPLEGATE tackles Wednesday’s racing confident of building the bank for a huge few days at Newmarket’s July Festival.

Back a horse by clicking their odds below.

LADY MARIKO (5.10 Yarmouth, nap)

There was a lot to like about the way she got her head in front at Wetherby last time. She came from a good way back and battled right to the line, relishing every yard of this distance. The handicapper has been fair with a 2lb rise in the weights and she looks capable of improvement. Noisy Music looks the main danger after a good run on the all-weather at Southwell last time out.

BEACH POINT (5.50 Kempton, nb)

He made it six places from his past seven races when second at Leicester last time. This looks a good chance to get his head back in front with the step up in distance likely to suit. He has a top pilot in Mason Paetel on board in this apprentice race.

ROGUE ENDEAVOUR (7.10 Ffos Las, treble)

He went down in a tight finish over a similar trip at Bath 14 days ago. He likes to go from the front and his capable claimer Elizabeth Gale is full value for her 7lb.

TOMMY’S PROMISE (4.10 Yarmouth, Lucky 15)

He has few miles on the clock and just over half a length away when second here last time. He is proven over this trip and looks dangerous again from his basement handicap mark of 49.

Thugs, thieves and drug dealers could avoid court under radical plans to ease justice system backlog

THUGS, thieves and drug dealers could avoid going to crown court under plans to overhaul the clogged justice system.

Offenders may avoid a criminal record and instead be sentenced to do unpaid work or get rehabilitation, it is proposed.

Criminals could avoid going to crown court under plans to overhaul the clogged justice system

Sentences could be cut by 40 per cent, up from a third now, with an early guilty plea.

Jury trials would be scrapped for some drug dealers and sex offenders with a judge and two magistrates presiding instead.

They could impose sentences of up to three years’ jail.

The maximum penalty JPs could hand down would double to two years.

The shake-up, proposed in a report for the Government by retired judge Sir Brian Leveson, is an attempt to tackle the current backlog of 77,000 crown court cases.

It has seen trial dates pushed back as far as 2029.

Sir Brian said without the reforms there would be a “breakdown in law and order” with “society taking things into their own hands”.

Shadow Justice Secretary Robert Jenrick said “criminals like burglars and some killers will serve just a fifth of their sentences. That makes a mockery of our justice system.”

Victims’ Commissioner Baroness Newlove warned higher guilty plea discounts and out-of-court disposals “will feel like justice diluted again”.

Justice Secretary Shabana Mahmood has yet to announce which recommendations she will accept.

But now the Chelsea boss is sweating over his fitness ahead of Sunday’s final against Paris Saint-Germain or Real Madrid.

Caicedo twisted his ankle when battling for the ball in a nasty-looking incident.

He received treatment but was able to complete the match though he is now a doubt for the final.

Maresca was asked about his potential availability but could not give a definitive answer.

He said: “I told Caicedo he has to do everything to be on the pitch on Sunday.

“We will see.”

Chelsea have multiple midfield options available with Andrey Santos and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall both coming off the bench against Fluminense.

Joao Pedro was the hero for Chelsea with two terrific goals either side of half-time on his first start for the club.

Love Island’s Casa Amor recoupling revealed as Meg and Dejon face tense reunion

LOVE Island is set for a very tense recoupling tomorrow night – and fans are already freaking out over the repercussions of Casa Amor.

This year’s Casa Amor is about to come to an epic conclusion with the bombshell recoupling teased at the end of Tuesday night’s episode.

At the end of the programme, the Islanders were seen looking incredibly serious and tense as they stood and sat around the firepit.

Helena looked tense, Harry looked worried, and Meg looked upset as the recoupling was teased.

Meg and Dejon face a particularly tense reunion after the Casa Amor segment of the the show.

The stunning couple, who have been coupled up since the start, have faced their tests – but nothing compared to Casa.

Things looked to be on the right track for the pair as Dejon opted to sleep on the day beds.

But Tuesday’s episode saw him flirt up a storm with Andrada, which left viewers baffled.

Dejon told Andrada that she was his “favourite bombshell” while also expressing how he “missed” Meg.

He also alluded to how he wants to take her back to the main villa.

Fans were confused by this and quickly took to social media.

“How can Dejon go from ‘I’m missing Meg so much’ to ‘your my favourite bombshell’?” asked one person on X.

“I don’t even care if the editing is not in his favour, because how do you go from ‘I’m really missing Meg’ to ‘I hope you come back to the villa so we can get to know eachother’ – to Andrada?” said another.

A third then wrote: “Hold up, Dejon wants to spend time with the Andrada but is also going on about missing his Meg???”

While a fourth penned: “Really missing Meg to hope you make it back into the villa?!?”

Reacting to the teaser trailer for tomorrow night’s recoupling, fans were quick to predict what will go down with Meg and Dejon after his antics.

“Meg and dejon are not recoupling,” predicted one person.

“I need Meg to recouple and Dejon come in aloneeeee,” added a second.

“Meg is gonna recouple and leave Dejon hanging,” agreed a third.

“All the boys except for Dejon will recouple,” penned a fourth.

The recoupling will air on Wednesday night, as the OG Islanders pick if they want to recouple with a Casa hunk or beauty, or remain in the couples they were in prior to Casa Amor.

Love Island will continue on Wednesday night at 9pm on ITV2.
