Two first-half goals from Palmer were topped off by Joao Pedro‘s calm finish two minutes before half-time in New Jersey.
But tensions first boiled over in the final minutes of the game as the Parisian giants were clearly frustrated with themselves and the scoreline.
Neves, 20. was handed his marching orders after tugging on Cucurella’s hair as he ran towards goal from the edge of the box.
Referee Alireza Faghani had initially missed the scuffle, but he was soon summoned to the VAR monitor.
Replays showed how Cucurella and Neves had clashed off the ball, with the pair going shoulder to shoulder.
But, the enraged PSG star the lashed out at the Spaniard, pulling his long locks and pulling him to the ground.
The ref didn’t take long to brandish out a red card to the Portugal midfielder in the 85th minute.

GettyMOT vehicle certificate[/caption]
DRIVERS are being warned not to ignore a key warning during MOT to avoid paying thousands later.
An expert has also warned they may face legal issues if it isn’t tackled straight away.
GettyIgnoring brake warnings can lead to serious financial and legal issues[/caption]
GettyAdvisories can develop into far more dangerous problems[/caption]
A motoring expert has warned that ignoring a braking advisory during an MOT could have dire financial consequences.
Head of Digital Content at Auto Express, Steve Walker, warned: “Ignoring MOT advisories on brakes is a serious risk that too many drivers take lightly.”
“If left unchecked – as 15 per cent of drivers admit they do – these minor issues can quickly escalate into major, costly repairs.
“Worse still, if a fault causes an accident and it’s found you ignored a brake advisory, you could face significant financial liabilities – and potentially legal consequences.”
Problems with breaks are hardly uncommon, as they make up 16 per cent of all advisories during MOTs.
Worse still, 30 per cent of brake advisories are categorised as “dangerous.”
Advisories in MOTs are early warnings of car faults.
If left unchecked, they can develop into serious problems which will make your car unsafe and unable to pass its MOT.
” It’s vital to address brake advisories promptly to keep yourself and others safe on the road,” Walker added.
Beyond just financial and legal problems, braking problems can leave you in the extremely dangerous situation of driving while at serious risk of brake failure.
If you find yourself driving without the use of your brakes, the first action to take is to put on your hazard lights to alert other drivers that you have a problem.
Then, Walker has explained that there are some actions you can take to help your car slow down.
He said: “You’ve got more options than you think – from engine braking to the handbrake – but the most important thing is not to panic and never make any sudden moves.
“If you’re calm, deliberate and aware of your surroundings, you’ll give yourself the best chance of getting the car safely stopped – and avoiding injury to yourself or others.
At the moment, vehicles above the age of 40 are not legally required to undergo the annual safety check.
This is provided that the motors have not been substantially modified from when they were new.
But more than two in five who responded to a Department for Transport (DfT) public consultation agreed that safety checks should be introduced for cars more than 40 years old.
The consultation, which had just over 1,000 respondents, asked whether MOTs or similar checks should be made mandatory for classic and historic cars.
Although no decision has been made, it is a sign the older vehicles could in future be subject to the checks.
Full MOT checklist
THIS is the one-stop checklist that will make sure you are prepared to pass your next MOT.
Tyres and wheels – Look out for damage to the sidewall of your tyres and make sure they’re sufficiently inflated.
Use the 20p coin test to make sure your tyres have the right tread depth, which should be 1.6mm all the way around across the central three-quarters of the tread pattern.
The outer edge of a 20p coin will be completely obscured if the tread is deep enough.
Also, be careful space-saver spare tyres could catch you out in the test, so replace them with standard tyres of the right type and size that fit properly before the test.
Lights – Check all of the car’s lights are working properly and are the right colour to pass an MOT test.
Have someone walk around the car and make sure they don’t flicker when tapped which could mean they need tightening or replacing.
This includes headlamps, parking lights, reversing lights, indicators, registration plate bulbs and, on more recent vehicles, daytime running lights.
Wipers and windscreen – Replace wipers that smear because they are probably worn out and top up the washer bottle.
Number plates – Registration plates legally have to be in good condition, tightly fastened to the car and easily read from 20 metres away, so checking these is a must if you want to pass your MOT test.
Doors – Fix any broken doors or ones that don’t stay properly closed.
General condition – Make sure the exterior of your car is up to scratch.
Any sharp edges or pieces of metal sticking out could cause a danger to other road users and will definitely fail the MOT test.
Inside a car – Your dashboard will pop up with flashing warning lights if anything needs to be fixed under the bonnet like power-steering or brake-fluid warnings.
Make sure you have a fully functioning speedometer or you will fail the MOT test

COLE PALMER sent a chill down the spine of Champions League winners Paris Saint-Germain as he put their hopes of being named world champions on ice.
The Chelsea star was a cold front that swept into the MetLife stadium on a hot summer‘s day in New Jersey, USA, for the Club World Cup.
GettyCole Palmer was a cold front sweeping into a hot summer day in New Jersey[/caption]
Shutterstock EditorialPSG had no answer for the midfielder who has put himself in the Ballon d’Or conversation[/caption]
GettyJoao Pedro could also hold his head high after a superb display up front[/caption]
There was a lot of talk before the game about how many red-hot PSG might put past their London rivals as they were watched by US President Donald Trump and Fifa chief Gianni Infantino.
But two goals and an assist before half-time against Luis Enrique’s PSG super team ensured Blue was the colour as Enzo Maresca‘s side were crowned world champions.
Palmer’s first and second goals came from almost the exact same area of the pitch after he picked it up on the right side of the penalty area before striking the ball into the bottom left.
Yet for all of Palmer’s excellence, he was simply the main cog in a team you now have to back to challenge for the Premier League title next season. Here’s how SunSport’s Tony Robertson rated the Blues in the final.
Robert Sanchez – 8
GettyRobert Sanchez had a superb game on route to a clean sheet[/caption]
Great save down to his left to deny Desire Doue in the 19th minute. Moments later it was his pass which found Gusto for the opening goal.
And was sharp after the break with a wonderful reflex save to preserve the Blues clean sheet before adding another save stretching down to his right.
He’s come in for his share of criticism since joining Chelsea, but credit where credit is due, his performance was stellar.
Malo Gusto – 7
Provided the width down the right to allow Palmer the freedom to roam and provided the assist when he raced past Nuno Mendes.
BEST ONLINE CASINOS – TOP SITES IN THE UK
Also had the better of Khvicha Kvaratskhelia in their battle but did pick up a yellow just before half-time for his enthusiasm in one tackle.
Trevoh Chalobah – 6
Made a tackle which got the crowd roaring right before the first cooling break but was seldom involved in much real defensive work aside from nodding long passes back into Sanchez’s grateful arms.
Levi Colwill – 6
They say when a defender has a quiet game that’s usually a good thing and was exactly the case for Colwill today.
A pretty nonchalant performance in many respects, but one that deserves its share of praise.
Marc Cucurella – 6
GettyMarc Cucurella got in Joao Neves head before the PSG star was sent off[/caption]
Made a superb interception in the 16th minute in the penalty area which would have been a certain goal for PSG otherwise. Conducted the half-time interview and was visibly knackered from running around.
Bizarrely got picked up by Joao Neves while clutching his ankle for some clever time wasting in the closing stages. Neves was later sent off for pulling the Spaniard’s hair, so Cucurella clearly seemed to have him rattled.
Reece James – 6
Maresca opted for James in midfield to partner Caicedo and worked a treat with the Englishman more involved on the ball than his team-mate.
Saying that, his game was composed if not remarkable. Went down in the 70th minute
Moises Caicedo – 6
Put out a good number of fires in midfield and showed some classy shoulder faints to get away from opponents. Picked up a harsh yellow for a push in the first half.
Enzo Fernandez – 4
GettyEnzo Fernandez had a quiet game against PSG[/caption]
Played as the No10 but had a quiet game. Did more rolling around on the floor complaining about injury than he had touches of the ball.
Hooked in the 60th minute for Andrey Santos through injury.
Cole Palmer – 9
Should have scored inside eight minutes after whipping a shot around the goal post from a Pedro lay off but made up for it by slotting home the opener in minute 21 after combining with Gusto and opening up the goal on his left.
His second was almost a carbon copy of the first, jinking inside and beating two players before angling a shot into the bottom left corner. Exquisite pass to assist Pedro for the third of the game.
The Manchester lad is certainly making a case to be included in the conversation amongst the best players in the world. Might he even be a late outsider for the Ballon d’Or (and would have been a perfect 10 out of 10 were it not for that early miss).
Deja Vu Vibes! See his second Cole Palmer goal from ALL ANGLES
First real act of note was to pick up a yellow card in the 35th minute, oddly after he had been fouled. Had a great chance to produce something in behind the PSG defence after a classy volley forward by Pedro, but his cross was nothing short of shocking.
Put in the hard yards but was found wanting in terms of quality.
Joao Pedro – 8
Expertly laid off a pass to Palmer early on which somehow did not end up in an assist. Led the line well by stretching the play and certainly justified his selection ahead of Liam Delap and Nicolas Jackson.
Superb chip to score Chelsea’s third with a curved run into the penalty area. Arguably could have had a penalty after the break following a shirt pull inside the area, but the ref ultimately waved play on. Subbed for Delap.
Seconds after coming in he tried to chip Gianluigi Donnarumma from miles outside of the box, but the cheeky effort was saved by the Italian – not that he was too happy with the audacity to even attempt it based on the verbals he gave the English attacker at the resulting corner.
Relentless pressing almost saw him sneak in to grab a goal only for him to be denied by Donnarumma again.
Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall (on for James, 77 mins) – N/A
Going through the motions after coming on so didn’t have the chance to impact the game.
Christopher Nkunku (on for Neto, 78 mins) – N/A
Same for Nkunku.
