Former Manchester United boss Ralf Rangnick has been rushed to hospital for emergency surgery – after a first op on the 67-year-old went wrong.
The German spent six months as Red Devils interim manager after Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s dismissal in November 2021.

Rangnick has since worked as Austria’s national coach, and aims to lead them to the 2026 World Cup finals.
Wear and tear to his ankle caused him to undergo a routine operation last month.
Former Stuttgart, Schalke and RB Leipzig boss Rangnick returned to his home near Salzburg soon afterwards.
But the wound caused by the surgery became seriously inflamed, forcing the veteran coach to go back under the knife.
Rangnick is still in hospital, but hopes to return home on Friday.
Austrian FA spokesman Thomas Trukesitz insisted: “Ralf Rangnick is doing well.
“Nobody needs to have any concerns about his health.”
Rangnick’s first duties when he returns to fitness will be to prepare the Austria side for World Cup qualifiers against Cyprus and Bosnia & Herzegovina in early September.

A MOUNJARO user has candidly opened up on what happened after she used fat jabs for just four weeks.
Despite being “really happy” with losing two to three lbs a week on the injections, Megan Craze, who is from Wales, recently shared all on her most embarrassing side effect.
Tiktok/@megancraze01A fat jab user had opened up on her recent “disaster” experience[/caption]

Mounjaro is used to treat type 2 diabetesGetty
Not only did the brunette find herself on the loo in a local corner shop where the staff could hear everything, but that wasn’t the worst of it.
Posting on social media, Megan, who has lost over 16lbs in four weeks on fat jabs, claimed that bowel movements on Mounjaro are “no joke,” as she opened up on “the worst experience on Monjaro.”
Being brutally honest, Megan said: “I was out driving like I normally do, I was about half an hour away from home and I had no warning and oh my god, I needed to s**t.
“It was one of those s***s that if you don’t go, you’re gonna s**t yourself.”
Mounjaro, which is known as the King Kong of jabs, is now being prescribed on the NHS in the first anti-obesity rollout of its kind.
It is said to suppress the appetite, making people feel fuller for longer.
Such injections are licensed for patients with type 2 diabetes and to assist those who are clinically obese – with a Body Mass Index of 30 or over.
One jab is administered each week but the duration is dependent on a person’s weight.
Many Mounjaro users have been candid on experiencing diarrhoea whilst using the jabs – and this is exactly what happened to Megan.
After experiencing a strong urge to go to the toilet whilst driving, the content creator admitted that she pulled over and desperately ran into the first corner shop she could see.
And after begging a staff member if she could use their loo, thankfully he agreed.
But what happened next left Megan mortified, as she confessed that the staff member could hear everything.
I felt so awkward, I could have literally swallowed the ground up
Megan Craze
She explained: “No joke – the toilet of the corner shop was literally right next to the counter and he could hear me s******g.
“I felt so awkward, I could have literally swallowed the ground up.”
But that wasn’t the worst of Megan’s embarrassing experience, as just moments later, she found herself in a very similar, but somewhat worse situation.
She shared: “After that, I got back in the car, travelled another 10 minutes and I had that feeling again – I had to pull over and run into a pub and what made it even worse about the pub was the toilets were so close to the bar, the bar could hear me s******g and they were laughing at me.”
Reflecting on the awkward “disaster,” Megan begged her followers to not “laugh” at her.
Mounjaro users react
The TikTok clip, which was posted under the username @megancraze01, has clearly left many open-mouthed, as it has quickly racked up 52,500 views.
Not only this, but it’s also amassed 534 likes, 100 comments and 200 shares in just two days.
But it’s not just Megan suffering with unfortunate bowel movements, as numerous Mounjaro users raced to the comments to share their similar experiences.
That can not be healthy for you, I’d stop using it and try different ways to lose weight
TikTok user
One person said: “This is me!!!! It goes ALL DAY.”
Another added: “I had this so badly I passed out, fell off the toilet and smacked my head on the floor.”
A third commented: “Ahh this happened to me Sunday and today!! And I’m not joking, the smell! I’ve also got sulphur burps!”
Meanwhile, one user wrote: “That can not be healthy for you, I’d stop using it and try different ways to lose weight if that’s your goal. Healthy diet in a calorie deficit and exercise will help you.”
But to this, Megan fumed and clapped back: “Why don’t you mind your business and leave me to do my own thing? You’re a literal stranger, why are you so bothered?”
Everything you need to know about fat jabs
Weight loss jabs are all the rage as studies and patient stories reveal they help people shed flab at almost unbelievable rates, as well as appearing to reduce the risk of serious diseases.
Wegovy – a modified version of type 2 diabetes drug Ozempic – and Mounjaro are the leading weight loss injections used in the UK.
Wegovy, real name semaglutide, has been used on the NHS for years while Mounjaro (tirzepatide) is a newer and more powerful addition to the market.
Mounjaro accounts for most private prescriptions for weight loss and is set to join Wegovy as an NHS staple this year.
How do they work?
The jabs work by suppressing your appetite, making you eat less so your body burns fat for energy instead and you lose weight.
They do this my mimicking a hormone called GLP-1, which signals to the brain when the stomach is full, so the drugs are officially called GLP-1 receptor agonists.
They slow down digestion and increase insulin production, lowering blood sugar, which is why they were first developed to treat type 2 diabetes in which patients’ sugar levels are too high.
Can I get them?
NHS prescriptions of weight loss drugs, mainly Wegovy and an older version called Saxenda (chemical name liraglutide), are controlled through specialist weight loss clinics.
Typically a patient will have to have a body mass index (BMI) of 30 or higher, classifying them as medically obese, and also have a weight-related health condition such as high blood pressure.
GPs generally do not prescribe the drugs for weight loss.
Private prescribers offer the jabs, most commonly Mounjaro, to anyone who is obese (BMI of 30+) or overweight (BMI 25-30) with a weight-related health risk.
Private pharmacies have been rapped for handing them out too easily and video calls or face-to-face appointments are now mandatory to check a patient is being truthful about their size and health.
Are there any risks?
Yes – side effects are common but most are relatively mild.
Around half of people taking the drug experience gut issues, including sickness, bloating, acid reflux, constipation and diarrhoea.
Dr Sarah Jarvis, GP and clinical consultant at patient.info, said: “One of the more uncommon side effects is severe acute pancreatitis, which is extremely painful and happens to one in 500 people.”
Other uncommon side effects include altered taste, kidney problems, allergic reactions, gallbladder problems and hypoglycemia.
Evidence has so far been inconclusive about whether the injections are damaging to patients’ mental health.
Figures obtained by The Sun show that, up to January 2025, 85 patient deaths in the UK were suspected to be linked to the medicines.
At the same time, other Mounjaro users opened up about experiencing constipation whilst using the jabs.
One user admitted: “I can’t even poop on mine.”
A second confessed: “I wish I had this!!! I’m completely backed up! Have been since I started!”
Whilst someone else acknowledged: “I’m the opposite. Haven’t gone in over a week.”
The reality of fat jabs
Not only have many dealt with mortifying side effects whilst using Mounjaro, but last year it was revealed that Scots nurse Susan McGowan, 58, died after taking low-dose injections of Mounjaro over a fortnight.
A probe also found that nearly 400 people have gone to hospital after taking weight loss drugs.
What are the other side effects of weight loss jabs?
Like any medication, weight loss jabs can have side effects.
Common side effects of injections such as Ozempic include:
Nausea: This is the most commonly reported side effect, especially when first starting the medication. It often decreases over time as your body adjusts.
Vomiting: Can occur, often in conjunction with nausea.
Diarrhea: Some people experience gastrointestinal upset.
Constipation: Some individuals may also experience constipation.
Stomach pain or discomfort: Some people may experience abdominal pain or discomfort.
Reduced appetite: This is often a desired effect for people using Ozempic for weight loss.
Indigestion: Can cause a feeling of bloating or discomfort after eating.
Serious side effects can also include:
Pancreatitis: In rare cases, Ozempic may increase the risk of inflammation of the pancreas, known as pancreatitis, which can cause severe stomach pain, nausea, and vomiting.
Kidney problems: There have been reports of kidney issues, including kidney failure, though this is uncommon.
Thyroid tumors: There’s a potential increased risk of thyroid cancer, although this risk is based on animal studies. It is not confirmed in humans, but people with a history of thyroid cancer should avoid Ozempic.
Vision problems: Rapid changes in blood sugar levels may affect vision, and some people have reported blurry vision when taking Ozempic.
Hypoglycemia (low blood sugar): Especially if used with other medications like sulfonylureas or insulin.
The common side effects include nausea, vomiting and diarrhoea, which can lead to severe dehydration.
And if that wasn’t bad enough, doctors say they have also seen “life-threatening complications”, including seizures, bowel obstruction and inflammation of the pancreas.
The makers of Mounjaro, Lilly UK, said patient safety is its “top priority”.
Lilly UK stressed: “Regulatory agencies conduct extensive independent assessments of the benefits and risks of every new medicine and Lilly is committed to continually monitoring, evaluating, and reporting safety data.
“If anyone is experiencing side effects when taking any Lilly medicine, they should talk to their doctor or other healthcare professional.”

LOVE Island has been rocked by a mass dumping with SIX singles being dumped from the villa after Casa Amor.
After the raunchiest midway break yet, the recoupling more than delivered with a wave of explosive decisions.
Love Island will be rocked by a recoupling and mass dumpingErotemeAlima and Ryan were the most recent Islanders to leave the villa last weekErotemeShakira and Ty have formed a new connection – but will they survive the dumping?Eroteme
Whilst The Sun is keeping shtum on the results of last night’s recoupling – which will air on screen tonight – we can reveal that the switch-up left six Islanders single.
And they’ve already left the villa.
A source said: “The Casa Amor recoupling is always hotly anticipated and this year the Islanders have been quick off the mark.
“Bosses were left gobsmacked by how far some of them were prepared to take it to ‘test their connection’, as they always like to say.
“It’s been the raunchiest break ever, with lots of bedroom scenes not even making it to air.
“It’s all led to spicy recoupling and six Islanders have bitten the dust.”
Tuesday’s episode saw Dejon flirt up a storm with Andrada, which left viewers baffled.
And Harry made fans “feel sick” after he was heard telling a Casa Amor girl he’ll give her an orgasm despite being coupled up withHelena.
At the end of last night’s programme, the Islanders were seen looking incredibly serious and tense as they stood and sat around the firepit.
Helena looked tense, Harry looked worried, and Meg looked upset as the recoupling was teased.
Meg and Dejon face a particularly tense reunion after the Casa Amor segment of the show.
The stunning couple, who have been coupled up since the start, have faced their tests – but nothing compared to Casa.
Things looked to be on the right track for the pair as Dejon opted to sleep on the day beds.
Last night’s installment saw him flirt up a storm with Andrada, which left viewers baffled.
Dejon told Andrada that she was his “favourite bombshell” while also expressing how he “missed” Meg.
He also alluded to how he wants to take her back to the main villa.
Reacting to the teaser trailer for tomorrow night’s recoupling, fans were quick to predict what will go down with Meg and Dejon after his antics.
“Meg and dejon are not recoupling,” predicted one person.
“I need Meg to recouple and Dejon come in aloneeeee,” added a second.
“Meg is gonna recouple and leave Dejon hanging,” agreed a third.
“All the boys except for Dejon will recouple,” penned a fourth.
The recoupling will air on Wednesday night, as the OG Islanders pick if they want to recouple with a Casa hunk or beauty, or remain in the couples they were in prior to Casa Amor.
Love Island continues tonight at 9pm on ITV2 and ITVX.

LOVE Island viewers have noticed that one of the Casa Amor boys has “disappeared” from the villa.
New Islander Chris, 29, has laid low so far in the villa, which has led fans to think he has “quit” the show.

Chris arrived on the show on MondayEroteme
The Commercial Real Estate Asset Manager from Manchester joined Love Island on Monday as part of the Casa Amor boy line-up.
Before going in the villa, he said: “If I meet the right person, I do fall fast.
“The issue is I very rarely meet the right people! I lose interest quickly.”
The hunk in trunks also revealed who he had his eye on.
“I’m physically most interested in Shakira, she’s had a bit of a rough time so I think I could go in and make a difference for her,” Chris told ITV
“I like Emily and Yasmin as well, Yasmin has quite an interesting personality, we’d be quite funny together. Emily is very attractive and seems to be very sweet personality wise.”
But despite his best intentions, Chris has failed to make a connection with the OG girls and has all but “disappeared” from the show.
Fans have been speculating about his lack of screen time on Reddit, and fear he may have “quit” Love Island.
One wrote: “I’m wondering where Chris has gone? Does anyone else think he has quit?”
While another added: “There’s always one of them that kind of blends with the background and becomes invisible during casa, seems like Chris is this year’s victim.”
This one said: “Feel bad for Chris with no screen time. Seemed like a good bloke.”

AN Aidan O’Brien horse punters are certain is ‘banker material’ has been backed off the boards for his next race – after being banned from Royal Ascot.
Two-year-old colt Italy is all the rage for Saturday’s Superlative Stakes at Newmarket.
Ryan Moore usually waits until the last minute to decide who he rides – but he has picked an Aidan O’Brien horse out days early, signalling the pair’s huge confidence behind himPA
Italy was hugely impressive when overcoming inexperience to score at 4-9 on debut at Leopardstown in May.
Those who watched said at the time they were confident the horse ‘wins wherever he goes’ next time out.
The form has been boosted massively too, with 16-1 runner-up Thesecretadversary finishing second in the Chesham at Royal Ascot.
Italy was blocked from running in that race because it is only for two-year-olds whose sire won over 10f.
Italy, who cost 200,000 guineas and is by Wootton Basset out of a sister to O’Brien’s Derby winner Serpentine, hasn’t run since his awesome debut.
But he is all set to tear up the Superlative – and follow in the hoofsteps of former O’Brien superstars City Of Troy and Gustav Klimt.
O’Brien said Moore doesn’t make his mind up on who he will ride until five minutes before the cut-off time of 1pm.
But in an unusual move, Moore has already been jocked up on Italy for the 7f Group 2.
It is a particularly interesting development because O’Brien also has £350,000 Dorset in the race too – although he is unlikely to run.
Bookies initially went 11-10 Italy but he has been backed off the boards since and is now as short as 8-13.
Italy is already 12-1 favourite for next year’s Derby but that price could collapse if he demolishes rivals this weekend.
Godolphin’s No1 trainer Charlie Appleby has fired some good ones at the Superlative in recent years as well.
Former champion two-year-old and Irish 2,000 Guineas winner Native Trail and Breeders’ Cup Mile winner Master Of The Seas are among the winners.
He is set to run Saba Desert this year – a winner at Sandown on debut last month.
But the son of Dubawi out of a Sea The Stars mare is nowhere near as strong in the market as Italy.
Speaking after his first run, O’Brien was clearly trying to temper expectations but couldn’t hide his delight.
He said: “He won his maiden very well at Leopardstown and he is a colt that we always liked at home.
“We have been happy with him since then.
“He was green when he ran at Leopardstown, but we liked him before the race, and he will improve again from that. I was more than happy with the performance.
“The form has been given a boost as the runner-up put in a good solid run to finish second last time out in the Chesham at Ascot.”

KATIE TAYLOR helped inspire a generation of female fighters – but her own boxing career only started by pure chance.
The Irish icon quite literally fought for women to compete at the Olympics after performing in front of officials in showcase bouts.

It was only when Taylor’s running training got rained off did she take the chance to wander down to her local St Fergal’s Boxing Club and try it out for herself.
By the time her dad found out, Taylor was already in the ring sparring with the boys in the gym.
Taylor looks back with a wide smile and tells SunSport: “I couldn’t wait to spar, I already had the headgear on.
“I just remember going to the gym and my dad looked around and I was already sparring.
“I always knew how to throw a punch, maybe it was just after years of watching my dad shadow boxing helped but obviously much coaching was needed as well.
“I always had good raw material there and I just couldn’t wait to get in there and fight.
“I think it was always part of who I am, it’s in my blood to be a fighter.”

Taylor was just 12 when she first started boxing and immediately got the backing of her dad.
Her team even had to pretend she was a boy – pushing her ponytail into her headguard and going by the alias K.Taylor.
Her future was determined from the moment she walked into the gym – maybe accidentally on purpose – and fell in love with everything she found, including the SMELL of the club.
Taylor, who also played football for Ireland’s national team, added: “I don’t think I ever really thought I was ever really going to be a boxer.
“I just always knew how to fight and how to throw a punch, where to put my hands, where to stand.
“I think that was just part of my make-up. But I don’t think my parents or anyone in my family really thought I was ever going to be a fighter.
“But the minute I stepped foot into a boxing ring, that first day, I just fell in love with the sport and fell in love with the boxing gym.
“Just the atmosphere in the gym, seeing the guys in sparring and hitting the bags, I just fell in love with that whole concept.
“That was the start of the journey for me.”

Taylor made history in 2001 at 15 when she boxed Alanna Audley in what was the first officially sanctioned female boxing match in Ireland.
But still a problem lingered for Taylor and so many other girls – there was no room for boxing at the Olympic Games.
In a bid to change the landscape of the sport forever, Taylor was selected to box in front of the International Olympic Committee.
The inspired pioneer travelled to Chicago in 2007 and St Petersburg two years later – with the hopes of every young female fighter on her shoulders.
And after impressing IOC officials women’s boxing was officially added into the London 2012 Games – where Taylor won gold.
But earning the right for females to box at the Olympics meant much more than the 18oz medal or any world title Taylor has won as a professional.
She said: “People talk about the pressure today but it’s nothing in comparison to the pressure I felt back then where I’m not just fighting for myself but fighting for every female fighter for boxing at the Olympic Games.

“This was to fight for women’s boxing to have a right in the Olympic Games.
“So, those fights were huge pressure fights and what I’m experiencing today is nothing in comparison to what I felt all those years ago.”
Taylor qualified for the 2016 Olympics as a hot favourite – but was stunned in defeat to Finland’s Mira Potkonen in the opening bout.
She turned pro just months later to embark on the next chapter of her already illustrious story.

But perhaps the opponent who will define Taylor’s career more than anyone will be Puerto Rican great Amanda Serrano.
Now they meet back at New York’s famed MSG on Friday one last time – in a trilogy fight which would seem almost impossible to top.
But Taylor said: “The nature of both our styles, it’s always going to produce epic fights, so it’s just who we are.
” I can’t imagine the third fight will be much different than the first two.
“The fights just keep getting better and better between us two so I imagine the trilogy will be as exciting – hopefully not too exciting.

In the wake of the ongoing situation between Thailand and Cambodia, an unsettling calm has fallen over the once bustling Chong Chom checkpoint. Where the seamless transfer of emergency patients through this vital crossing used to be commonplace, it has now come to an indefinite halt. Recently, Cambodia mysteriously declined the receipt of essential medication, intended for its ongoing patients, despite Thailand’s efforts to facilitate the process.
