I bought a £103 sofa from Shein and it arrived in a tiny box but now it’s built it looks stunning and so much bigger
WHILE many of us will buy holiday clothes, bags and even shoes from Shein, one woman has revealed that she took a risk and bought herself a brand new sofa.
A bargain hunter named Martha spotted a gorgeous two seater sofa on the global e-commerce platform and decided to make an order.

Eager to share her thoughts on her bargain buy, which cost her just over £100, Martha took to social media to show off her new living room purchase.
Posting online, Martha gave her followers a close-up look at the tiny box her sofa arrived in, as she wrote: “What I ordered VS What I got.”
Viewers then saw the content creator reading instructions and putting the sofa together.
But before long, her new sofa was built and ready to be used.
While the “comfy” loveseat, which also has two storage pockets, was originally priced at £164.68, Martha managed to nab it for only £103.35, thanks to a 37% off discount.
Now, the two seater velvet couch is priced at £123.48, as a result of a 25% off discount.
Thrilled with her sofa, Martha furnished the living room buy with two spotted cushions and put it on top of a fluffy white rug.
Moments later, she shared: “I actually waited for two weeks of use before posting to be sure it was good…”
This Shein sofa is available in six different colours – flannel green, flannel grey, flannel blue, linen light green, linen grey and Martha’s choice, linen beige.
For just £103.35 (or £123.48 if you purchase it now), we think it looks great and is a real bargain.
And it’s clear that many others do too, as Martha’s TikTok clip, which was posted under the username @doo_ronald, has quickly racked up 471,200 views.
Not only this, but it’s also amassed 10,600 likes, 19 comments, 1,467 saves and 1,801 shares.
What is Shein and is it legit?
Shein is an online-only fast-fashion retailer, based out of China, that has become a number one shopping destination for many around the world.
The company was valued at $66billion in 2023, dwarfing that of popular high street brands Zara and H&M.
The fashion retailer was founded in late 2008, by entrepreneur and marketing specialist Xu Yangtian, also known as Chris Xu.
Shein is a legitimate selling website and is not a phishing scam.
But you may receive a disappointing order or run into shipping issues if you order from the site, according to reviews.
There have been swathes of quality complaints, which makes sense when looking at the price tag.
Social media users loved the sofa and eagerly raced to the comments to express this.
One person said: “It’s lush.”
Another added: “This is nice.”
To this, Martha wrote back and responded: “It really is.”
A very beautiful and big sofa, bigger than my expectations
Shein shopper
And it’s not just those on social media that are loving the affordable sofa, as Shein shoppers have eagerly flocked to the website to share their praise for the purse-friendly homeware buy.
The sofa has amassed an average rating of 5 out of 5, as one shopper beamed: “Great quality, fast delivery!”
Meanwhile, a second wrote: “A very beautiful and big sofa, bigger than my expectations.”
Whilst someone else simply shared: “Just what he wanted.”

Dunelm's top interior design trends for 2025

Maximalism
Maximalism is about unleashing your creativity and bringing joy to everything around you, day in and day out. Bold pattern combinations of florals, checks and geometrics set the tone with a bright joyous colour palette that holds everything together.
Don’t mistake Maximalism for having loads of stuff, it’s about mixing and matching florals, layering key pieces and storytelling throughout your home, and ultimately doing things your own way. Dunelm’s new collaboration with Sophie Robinson is all about that.
Minimaluxe
The interiors world has witnessed the evolution of “minimalism” into a richer, more luxurious iteration. The goal is quiet luxury – simplicity with a sense of sophistication.
Minimaluxe focuses on creating spaces that are pared down yet warm, elegant, and inviting. Gloriously tactile textures, in a palette of warm neutrals, with hints of caramel and gold, complete the look. Introducing softer forms and round edges to avoid a space feeling overly stark
The Edit
Built on the philosophy that having fewer thoughtfully designed and well-made things helps us leave a lighter imprint on the earth. Interior design is shifting to be inspired by the natural world, and all its perfect imperfections.
Take Dunelm’s The Edited Life collection, it focuses on natural materials like wicker, jute and linens – as well as décor pieces and hand-thrown pottery vessels that feature forms dictated by the artisan’s mark. Soft relaxed fabric textures mixed with uneven wood grains help bring this neutral, look together.
New Nouveau
Blending 19th century inspired maximalism with a contemporary colour palette this collection takes inspiration from the ornamental art form from the Nouveau era. Rich and luxurious, blending a little bit of history with a more modern aesthetic you can mix and layer into your home.
Stylised Lily motifs adorn sumptuous textiles and wallpapers mixed with marbling & stained glass vintage style lighting for a vintage inspired look, with a modern twist.

Paddy Tally departs as Derry manager after only one year in tenure that was snakebitten from the start
DERRY are beginning another managerial search after announcing last night that Paddy Tally has stepped down.
The Tyrone man left his role in the Kerry backroom last November when he was given a three-year term on Foyleside.

But the reign of Derry’s fourth gaffer since 2023 has come to an end.
A brief comment from Tally in a Derry GAA statement said: “I want to thank my management, backroom and medical team and most importantly the players for their commitment and dedication over the past season.
“Thank you to Derry county board and the staff in Owenbeg and Celtic Park for their hospitality and support.
“I wish the Derry senior footballers the best for the future.”
The record will show that Tally oversaw a winless spell at the helm.
But as well as dealing with a glut of injury absentees, his hopes of a successful year were hindered as the Oak Leafers were behind the curve in installing a new gaffer.
They were the last county to fill a managerial vacancy for 2025, with his appointment coming 129 days after Mickey Harte stepped down.
Derry entered the National League as reigning champions but suffered relegation to Division 2.
The only point yielded came in a draw against Galway and Tally’s side also failed to record a victory in a Championship campaign that began with an Ulster SFC quarter-final loss to Donegal.
And despite showing considerable improvement in the All-Ireland group stage, Derry finished bottom of their group, losing to Armagh and Dublin as well as playing another draw with the Tribe.
Speaking after the defeat to the Dubs that ended his side’s interest in the Championship, Tally said: “We didn’t have the time to get going early enough.
“We didn’t get our work done and we’re only starting to show now what we can play.”
Tally was credited with having a say in the defensive improvements that helped Kerry claim the 2022 All-Ireland SFC title.
The Derry gig was his first as an inter-county manager since his three-year term as Down gaffer came to an end in 2021.
Derry GAA chairperson John Keenan, said: “We’re grateful to Paddy, his selectors and wider backroom team for the time and dedication they’ve given to Derry football over the 2025 season.”

Jon Jones leaves UFC fans in a tizzy three-word U-turn after Dana White’s lying claim over Tom Aspinall fight

JON JONES has left UFC fans in a tizzy following an apparent U-turn on a fight with Tom Aspinall.
The former pound-for-pound king walked away from the biggest payday of his career and a historic heavyweight title unification bout with the Brit last month when he announced his retirement.

Jones’ retirement, however, lasted less than two weeks as he has re-entered the UFC’s drug testing pool.
And he’s seemingly now entertaining the prospect of fighting Aspinall, which he repeatedly poo-pooed ever since the Brit became the interim king of the heavyweights in November 2023.
After seeing an AI-mocked-up photo of himself on the cage and a fallen Aspinall on the octagon canvas at Donald Trump’s proposed UFC White House card, Jones commented: “I like this.”
Jones’ comment sent MMA fans into a frenzy, with one saying: “He don’t want to fight, [he] just likes the attention.”
Another said: “Nobody cares anymore, you refused to fight. Enjoy your retirement.”
And another said: “This fool has wasted enough of everyone’s [time]. Ignore him.”
One remarked: “This man is relentless in pushing the limits of delusion lol.”
Another chimed in: “That’s cool, he can troll as much as he wants WITHOUT the belt.”

Jones’ vacating of the heavyweight title and subsequent retirement led to Wigan warrior Aspinall being elevated from interim to undisputed champion.
In the immediate aftermath of Jones’ retirement, UFC supremo Dana White doubled down on claims that the Hall of Famer “agreed” to fight Aspinall.
Jones denied that notion, insisting he retired LAST NOVEMBER after his title defence against Stipe Miocic and told the UFC brass of his decision.
White hit back at that claim late last month when asked by SunSport, saying: “That’s not true.
“I’m telling you the truth. Believe who you want to believe.”

Just hours after Jones’ hanging up of the gloves, it emerged that the former two-division champion had been charged with fleeing the scene of an accident in New Mexico in February.
An “intoxicated” woman, who was “lacking clothing from the waist down”, found at the scene claimed Jones was the driver of the vehicle.
Jones, who allegedly alluded to threats of violence while on the phone to police at the scene, has vehemently denied the allegation and insisted the woman found in the car drove away from his house while intoxicated.
