MOROCCAN-born producer and multi-instrumentalist Ahmed Spins has gone from sending out demos under fake names just a few years ago, to lighting up stages at Coachella, EDC Las Vegas and Electric Forest.
Ahmed was also one of only a few up-and-coming DJs invited to play the opening party of Ibiza’s new hyper club, [UNVRS], cementing his reputation as one of the most exciting new rising stars in house music.
Now, fresh from those huge sets and ahead of his set at London’s Junction 2 on July 25, he teams up with French-Moroccan rising star Ankhoï on ‘Mood’ -a sun-soaked, funk-tinged anthem featuring Caroline Byrne (Gorgon City, Ferreck Dawn) and live guitar from Neyl. Out now on DHB Records and premiered at the Giza pyramids, ‘Mood’ is full of warmth, groove, and radiant energy.
We caught up with Ahmed this week and he’s curated an exclusive playlist that mirrors that feeling, featuring his new track alongside high-vibe cuts from Ankhoï, Jazzy, Carlita, Cameron Jack, Audiojack, Dennis Cruz, Midland, and ANOTR.
It’s a go-to summer soundtrack, whether you’re poolside, on a road trip chasing the sun or setting the tone for a long night ahead.
My new track – it’s the feel-good summer song you needed to brighten your day! The uplifting melodies and warm grooves will instantly put a smile on your face.
The perfect road trip song that sets the tone for any adventure. There’s something about the bassline and vocals that makes every drive feel cinematic.
This one gets everyone’s hands raised on the dance floor and is made by my close friend Carla, which makes it even more special. It’s a perfect example of her unique style and artistry.
Cameron Jack – Red Light
This track is such a good grove. Play this in my sets a lot and it always gets the crowd dancing and good vibes going.
An instant mood uplifter that brings a rush of good energy every time. It channels the nostalgia of classic house with a modern twist that feels both fresh and familiar.
My favorite club track because it never fails to light up the room. The driving percussion and infectious hooks create an atmosphere that’s impossible to ignore.
It’s a universal tune that will last for generations thanks to its timeless vibe. It’s a track you can play in almost any setting and trust it will hit the mark.

Duff walked out on the reigning Premier Division champs on June 22
Throughout the five-minute post-match chat, O’Brien was at pains to point out that too much of the media focus in the run-up to this lucrative tie has been on him rather than the club as a whole.
But upon repeating that point, Shels legend Byrne quipped: “You can tell us to feck off if you want to!”
The League of Ireland champions were dominant against their northern counterparts at Tolka Park but it took changes off the bench for them to clinch the win.
One of the substitutes, Seán Boyd, got the better of two opponents to set up Mipo Odubeko who scored for the third game in a row.
But O’Brien – in his first European game as manager – said: “I thought in the first half, it was a really good performance.
“We attacked the game really well and we created a lot of chances.
“In a European tie, it’s four halves of football. Sometimes you don’t get what you deserve but it was about resetting. I thought we had chances again and we were happy to get the winner.
“It was a tough team to pick because I know how important these games are for players but I said the bench would be important.
“And Boydy was a handful when he came on. He did brilliantly. But the game is well alive and it’s all to play for next week.
“Going up there, we’re going to attack the game, play on the front foot, try to dominate and look to win the tie. The game is still in the balance, everything is to play for, I can’t wait for next week.
“They’re at home so it’s going to be difficult with their support. I’m sure the place up there will be rocking as well.”
That was echoed by Harry Wood who said: “It’s a tough place to go, we know only 50 percent of the job is done. We know we have work to do but it is good to go there with a win.
“Our mindset is to go and try to win the game. Whatever the score was here, we were going to try to go there to win.
“This is what you want to be playing in when you’re a kid. It’s the biggest competition in world football, especially club football, and you want to be playing in these, high-pressure moments.”
A delighted Odubeko added: “The first half was really frustrating. I don’t think I really touched the ball so to see the ball bobble into the bottom corner I’m really happy.
“I think we put on a good show. I love playing at Tolka Park, I love playing for Shels and most importantly scoring goals for Shels.”

A fan asked Lana: “What surprised you the most about your time in the villa?”
To which she replied: “How hard work it was,” followed by a string of laughing emojis.
She went on: “I was just after a free holiday and a cheeky flirt.”
Lana’s comments come as a very dramatic Casa Amor recoupling hit the villa on Wednesday night.
Lana posed in the tiny top and matching bike shorts outside a gym while wearing a cafe coloured headband and tortoiseshell glasses.
She shared the photos to Instagram, including a pic of her posing happily in a polaroid and pouting to the camera while sitting in a car.
“From today,” she captioned the post.
Lana announced she’d had breast surgery during a Get Ready With Me TikTok video filmed in Sydney, Australia, in February.
“I will address my boobs,” she said. “Yes, I have had my boobs done. For myself and myself only. I will talk about it in due course.”
In a later video, Lana explained how the process had been a long time coming.
She explained: “Not only did I feel small chested but I also felt one boob was bigger than the other. That is actually due to my spine, believe it or not.
“I have a condition called scoliosis, which is when your spine isn’t straight. You probably won’t be able to tell because mine is mild, but I can tell, I can see it.
She then explained how it is normal and natural to have one boob bigger than the other, but she felt hers was more noticeable than average.
Lana first booked to have surgery three years ago and revealed she began thinking of having a boob job 10 years ago.
She postponed her first booked surgery after getting a new job and then Love Island pushed it back further.
Lana said: “In life you do have to do things that make you happy and this is something I wanted to do.”
The reality TV beauty split from her Love Island partner Ron Hall three months after last year’s winter edition of the show.
The couple blamed distance and their busy schedules for the split, but maintain they are still good friends.
