Dani Dyer brands husband Jarrod Bowen a ‘d******d’ as she reveals what he got up to on the night before their wedding

DANI Dyer has branded her husband Jarrod Bowen a ‘d******d’ as she revealed what he got up to on the night before their wedding.

The former Love Island star and the West Ham forward tied the knot back in May.

She tied the knot with England footballer Jarrod Bowen in a lavish ceremony last month[/caption]

They recited their vows in front of their nearest and dearest at the five-star £500-a-night Langley Hotel in Buckinghamshire.

However, Dani, 28, was less than impressed with her new spouse’s behaviour in the night before the wedding ceremony.

She revealed that whilst staying in the luxury retreat, her then-fiance and his friends took their playstations to the venue.

It seems that England footballer Jarrod, also 28, has a penchant for video games, which left Dani far from excited.

On the most recent episode of the Live and let Dyer podcast with her actor father Danny Dyer, she said: “He said he ain’t staying with me the night before.

“He went, ‘No, I don’t want to stay with you’. They were all taking, him and their mates, their PlayStations to the hotel.

“I was like, “You’re all a bunch of d***s. Why are you all excited over playing PlayStation when you’re going to be a husband?”

Despite her pleas, the podcast personality was still left alone with her bridal squad as the lads opted for their controllers.

She continued: “He went, “Yeah, that don’t change nothing, I’m still playing”.’

To make matters worse, after the star-studded ceremony, the footballer opted for more gameplay on the popular games console.

Danny fumed: “Then he said to me, ‘What are we doing on the Sunday after the wedding?’

“I said, ‘I don’t know, we’ll probably just be hanging, like, we’ll come home”.

He went, ‘Oh, no, I just didn’t know if I could play football champs on the Sunday’.”

She added: “I went, ‘Yeah play football champs, that’s fine Jarrod, absolutely.”

How Dani Dyer transformed her reputation

The daughter of everyone’s favourite EastEnders geezer Danny, is currently living the high life.

But Dani has had a rollercoaster few years, from her Love Island win back in 2018, to watching her son’s father Sammy Kimmence go to prison for fraud, and now navigating her glamourous new life as a WAG and mother of twin babies.

In recent years, Dani has completely shaken off the ‘chav’ persona, and has become one of the most well-known of the current England WAGs.

Fabulous spoke to celebrity PR expert Ed Hopkins to find out the key steps Dani has taken to reinvent herself, including the tips she has borrowed from iconic WAG Cheryl Cole.

Ed revealed that Dani’s ability to navigate personal challenges, such as the scandal involving Sammy, has greatly played a crucial role in her reinvention.

Ed said: “By openly discussing her struggles and triumphs, she has built a strong, relatable persona.

“Her transparency about her personal life, including solo parenting and dealing with public scrutiny, has garnered significant public support and empathy.”

He also shared that Dani’s openness in discussing the challenges of motherhood, has helped to transform her reputation.

Ed said: “This openness has made her more relatable to a broader audience, particularly young mothers. She balances her public image by sharing both the joys and hardships of parenting, creating a more nuanced and authentic brand.”

Dani is often seen supporting West Ham winger Jarrod, including during England’s devastating loss to Spain in the 2024 Euros.

Her unwavering support for her partner, has cemented her as one of the most well-known WAGS of this generation, according to Ed.

He said: “Her active support for Jarrod, including attending football matches and engaging with fans, mirrors the strategies used by high-profile WAGs like Cheryl Cole and Victoria Beckham, who also stood by their partners publicly and built their own identities alongside them.”

Not only this, but Ed revealed that Dani has been able to stay relevant over the years due to her candid use of social media.

He said: “Dani has consistently used media platforms to share her narrative, from interviews to social media updates.

“She has managed to stay relevant by engaging with her followers through candid posts and professional collaborations.

“This approach is reminiscent of how Victoria Beckham transitioned from pop stardom to a respected fashion designer, using media to reframe her public image.”

The pair soon moved on from the incident as they later splashed out on a £3k a night exclusive resort in Italy for their honeymoon.

Together, the loved-up duo checked into stunning five-star resort Villa d’Este in Lake Como.

On social media, they shared photos from their stay, with snaps of them looking smitten as they admired the picturesque lake views.

Dani later showed off more of the jawdropping scenery from their £5,000 suite, which boasted a balcony and a separate living area.

‘I’m praying for a miracle’ –  Ben Askren’s wife reveals ex-UFC star might need lung transplant after battling pneumonia

BEN ASKREN’S wife is “praying for a miracle” as the former UFC star might need a lung transplant.

His partner Amy said she “never could have expected” such an “awful situation” as her 40-year-old husband is “the healthiest guy I know”.

She issued an update on his condition via Facebook after he was moved from a hospital in Vegas to Wisconsin.

Amy explained that Ben’s “critical” condition has seen so many ups and downs that doctors have begun the “evaluation process” for a possible lung transplant.

She praised the support he has been receiving from the MMA world and beyond.

And she said: “I’m still praying for a miracle with his current lungs.

“I know transplants are such a blessing and I’m overwhelmed at the thought of him receiving a gift like that.

“No one would take better care of that gift than Ben.

She also asked fans of her partner – aka “Funky” – to join her in praying for him.

Amy added: “Thank you for every message and all of the support.

“Despite this awful situation, I’m feeling so blessed by the community we’re surrounded by.”

And she urged everyone to appreciate their health – but also be prepared.

Amy said: “Give your loved ones a hug today.

“And make sure you’re prepared [for] situations like this.

“Ben is the healthiest guy I know and I never could have expected this.”

The ex-welterweight fighter was taken to hospital earlier this week after developing a lung problem and pneumonia following an infection.

He was briefly “unresponsive” and has been on a ventilator as well as extracorporeal membrane oxygenation, which is like an artificial lung.

Askren’s friend, former two-division UFC champion Daniel Cormier, has also spoken anxiously about his podcast host.

He said: “Pray for Amy, guys. Pray for the kids. Ben, we love you, buddy.

“We are constantly thinking about him every single day.

“I cannot wait for the next ‘Funky and the Champ’ because we’ll talk about that so much more.”

Last week Amy shut down unwelcome false rumours on social media that her husband had died

She stressed to TMZ he was “definitely still fighting”.

Askren retired from MMA in 2019 after one win and two defeats.

However, two years later he returned to ring action for a boxing match with YouTuber Jake Paul which he lost on a first-round KO.

Jeremy Clarkson reveals new health concern after recent heart op following stressful ‘disasters’

JEREMY Clarkson has revealed a new health concern after his recent heart operation, following stressful ‘disasters.’

Last October, Jeremy first revealed he had faced a hospital dash before undergoing an emergency heart operation.

Jeremy shared his health concern while discussing one of his passions[/caption]

He said he experienced worrying symptoms such as feeling “clammy”, “tightness in my chest”, and “pins and needles in my left arm”.

Now, the Clarkson’s Farm star has opened up on a new health concern.

“I have a trapped nerve in my back at the moment,” Jeremy has revealed.

Talking about cars in his Sunday Times column, the telly star continued: “It’s fine but I’m doing anything, but in the G 580 (a Mercedes motor), not doing anything is impossible because it pitches and rolls all the time, and you never have any idea what it’s going to do next

“So you can’t ever brave yourself. Getting out of this and back into Lisa’s Range Rover was like getting out of an economy seat on a new airline called Air Turbulent and into a bed at the world’s most peaceful hotel.”

Last month, Jeremy opened up to The Sun about his ailing health which is shown on the new series of Clarkson’s Farm.

“You can see me becoming more and more ill as the days go on, because I just lose my sense of humour, lose my ability to stay calm. I get in a proper old panic.

“I didn’t know at the time. I knew I wasn’t being me. Because if you don’t sleep, it very quickly has an effect,” he said.

Revealing how he was under immense pressure amid his health issues, Jeremy said: “I was trying to get the pub open for the August Bank Holiday weekend, and at the same time doing the harvest on the farm.

“And it’s very well documented I ended up in hospital with a heart problem, when you see how stressful it was trying to do those two things – there’s simply no sleep.

“I was coming back knackered from a day trying to get the pub open, and having to get straight into the tractor to do grain carting through the night.

“You can’t make the harvest wait, if it’s dry, ready and fit, as they say in farming I’ve discovered, if the wheat and barley fit you’ve got to get out there. God it was knackering.”

Jeremy also revealed how things going wrong and last-minute “disasters” also took its toll, with the former Top Gear star now admitting he was ‘silly’ to attempt to do as much as he did across the two days.

Jezza continued: “The amount of things that went wrong in the two days in the opening weekend.

“I know everyone’s going to say you made that up, it can’t possibly be that disastrous. But it was.

“It was one thing after another after another, it was incredibly stressful.

“That was idiotic to try and do what I tried to do over those weekends.”

Jereemy revealed in his Sunday Times column an ambulance rushed him to Oxford’s John Radcliffe Hospital where tests ruled out a heart attack.

However, further examinations revealed one artery was fully blocked and another was nearly blocked, putting him at serious risk.

However, further examinations revealed one artery was fully blocked and another was nearly blocked, putting him at serious risk.

A stent was inserted into the blocked artery to keep it open and restore blood flow to the heart.

He wrote: “It wasn’t especially painful. Just odd,” and said he thought at the time, “Crikey, that was close.”

UK waters could see surge in shark numbers scientists say, as they seek out new habitats

BRITISH waters could soon see a surge in shark species as they seek out new habitats, scientists say.

These include increasing numbers of basking and spurdog sharks – which can grow up to 1.6 metres – and thornbacks, a type of stingray with spines.

Scientists have mapped out how those at threat of extinction will migrate for a better chance of survival as sea temperatures rise.

The research – undertaken by the Centre for Environment, Fisheries and Aquaculture Science (Cefas) – showed native oysters will be amongst the biggest winners.

Experts say mobile species will cope best, but static creatures could struggle to adapt – with fears the sea pen could lose as much as 40 percent of their habitat by the end of the century.

The ocean quahog, a type of clam that can live more than 500 years, is also predicted to find it harder to adapt.

Bryony Townhill, marine scientist at Cefas, told BBC News: “As an island nation, we’re hugely reliant on the sea for our food and for jobs.

“Any changes that we see in our seas are particularly impactful.”

She added that movement of the 19 species could result in bigger catches for fishermen in coastal communities.

Professor John Pinnegar, director of the Cefas Marine Climate Change Centre, said the biggest surprise from the findings was the possibility of native oysters thriving.

“They’ve been declining and disappearing for 100 years – and yet the climate model suggests they should be doing fine and perhaps even thriving,” he explained.

Prof Pinnegar said although there is potential for new habitats, the vulnerable species still need protecting from the likes of fishing equipment, disease and pollution.

Basking sharks are the second-largest living shark after the whale shark, and can grow up to 10 metres, or 32ft.

They are not, however, a threat to humans, and live on plankton.

Thanks to these iconic Lily plants, which are known for their vibrant blooms and strong fragrance, your garden is sure to glow this summer.

The perennials are a striking addition to any garden and are said to be relatively low-maintenance, often returning year after year.

Such plants thrive in sunny to partially shaded locations, with well-drained soil.

Gardening enthusiasts should note that Lily bulbs are recommended to be planted about 12 cm deep and 20 cm apart.

And in order to keep your Lily plants looking good, deadheading faded blooms and ensuring proper watering is recommended.

Emma’s post has clearly impressed many, as it has quickly amassed 221 likes and 50 comments in just 21 hours.

Not only were many stunned by the “pretty” plants, but others were desperate to bag themselves some.

One person said: “Beautiful.”

Another added: “I’ve had mine for 4/5 years now. They always come back beautifully every year.”

8 must-have plants to brighten up your garden

Nick Hamilton owner of Barnsdale Gardens has shared his favourite plants and flowers you should consider adding to your garden, borders and pots.

Tricyrtis

A spectacular plant that gives a real exotic feel to any garden with its orchid-like, spotted flowers giving the impression that this plant should be tender but it is “as tough as old boots!”.

Penstemon

I love this plants genus of because most will flower all summer and autumn. They’ll grow in sun or semi-shade in a well drained soil and produce a non-stop display of tubular flowers in an array of colours and colour combination to suit all tastes.

Luzula sylvatica ‘Marginata’

With the evergreen leaves edged with yellow it’s great asset is that it
will grow in sun or shade in any type of soil and is great as groundcover in the hardest spot to fill – dry shade.

Eryngium x zabelii ‘Big Blue’

A stunning, nectar-rich plant that will feed the beneficial insects in your
garden. Leave the flowerheads once they have turned brown because they look stunning with winter frost and snow, extending the plant’s interest period.

Sarcococca hookeriana ‘Winter Gem’

If you need winter scent then look no further than this compact, evergreen shrub. The scent is stunning and the evergreen leaves create an excellent backdrop for the summer flowers.

Cornus sanguinea ‘Anny’s Winter Orange’

A dwarf version of ‘Midwinter Fire’ the very colourful stems create a stunning winter display, particularly on sunny days.

Rosa ‘Noisette Carnee’

A very well-behaved climbing rose that is perfect for training over an arch, pergola or gazebo. The small, “noisette” flowers are blush-pink and produce the most amazing clove scent constantly from June to November.

Sanguisorba hakusanensis ‘Lilac Squirrel’

I’ve never seen a squirrel with a drooping, shaggy lilac tail, but this variety will give your garden an unusual and different look throughout summer. It does need a moisture retentive soil but will grow in sun or semi-shade.

A third commented: “I need some!”

Meanwhile, someone else beamed: “They’ll grow back every year.”

At the same time, another gardening enthusiast wrote: “How pretty.”

While another user thought the lilies looked “gorgeous”, she also shared a stern warning for cat owners, as she advised: “Don’t forget to cut the stamen out so you don’t poison your kitties.”

€2 buy changed Dolores McNamara’s life but dark side forced Ireland’s most famous Lotto winner to hire security

MUM-of-six Dolores McNamara was on a night out with friends back on July 30 2005 when she realised her life had changed forever.

The Limerick native had just become Ireland’s first EuroMillions winner, nabbing a €115million prize.

And Ireland’s newest millionaire has catapulted themselves straight to the top of our exclusive Lotto hall of fame with our biggest ever prize.

The country is rife with speculation over who’s bagged themselves a cool €250million, with Lotto bosses confirming the golden ticket was sold in Munster.

The punter joins a long line of mega Irish prizewinners, with mega Irish EuroMillions wins recorded in 2005 and 2019.

Dolores McNamara became the most famous of those Irish winners when she collected a cheque for an eye-watering €115,436,126 from National Lottery headquarters on August 4, 2005.

Just days earlier, she’d been out with pals at the Track Bar in Garryowen, five minutes outside Limerick city.

The part-time cleaner, along with her bricklayer husband Adrian, had raised six children in a modest semi-detached home on the Patrick’s Road in Limerick.

Dolores and her friends copped the EuroMillions draw was playing out on the TV in the bar, and after the numbers were pulled, Dolores asked a pal to check her ticket.

Her €2 QuickPick buy had just netted her €115million.

Dolores burst into tears, realising she had just become a multi-millionaire and landed what was at the time the largest-winning Lotto sum in Europe.

A friend of Dolores’ pulled out a camera during the whirlwind celebrations and snapped some famous snaps of her just as she became a millionaire.

Bar staff working in the pub that night detailed exactly how the celebrations got underway.

One said: “The drink started flowing and the champagne was poured and we had a great night celebrating.

“Dolores is a real nice woman and none of her friends believe this will change her drastically.”

Dolores caused a frenzy when she arrived at the Lotto headquarters to collect her winnings just before the August bank holiday that year.

Like a celebrity, the Limerick mother made her way through a sea of reporters and photographers to get inside the building to start her new life.

Dressed in a classy white ensemble and wearing the same heart-shaped necklace she wore on the night she won, Dolores made her way to the door with a smile on her face.

She didn’t address the crowds dying to get a look at Ireland’s big winner and instead her lawyer shared a message.

The lawyer said: “She is absolutely determined that her feet and the feet of her family, will remain firmly on the ground.”

FIRST BIG PURCHASE

Six months after the monumental win, Dolores purchased a mansion in the Limerick countryside.

The €1.7million buy sat on 38 acres outside the scenic waterfront village of Killaloe, just mere miles from her own home.

After buying the property, Dolores bought additional houses nearby for her six children.

Later in 2012, the family bought Tinarana House for over €3million and her son recently obtained planning permission for this site.

Dolores’ husband Adrian invested in racehorse Carraig na gCapall before he passed away in 2021.

ONLY PUBLIC INTERVIEW

Despite making headlines across the country in 2005, Dolores has kept a low profile out of the public eye.

She has only spoken publicly about her win once – to local newspaper The Limerick Leader.

She told them: “The question that has been asked of me most frequently was how I felt about my win and my answer is still the same. I feel disbelief and shock.

“Buying a ticket for that Euro jackpot was a spur of the moment decision.

“I’d actually gone into the shop to buy a top-up for my phone and just asked the lady for a Lotto ticket.”

DARK SIDE OF THE WIN

Despite winning such an incredible amount the family, including Dolores’ children Dawn, Gary, Kim, Kevanne, Dean, and Lee, were subject to multiple security threats after winning such a large sum of money so publicly.

Dolores was also required to keep 24/7 security measures in place at her mansion.

A mysterious family syndicate from north Dublin claimed a whopping €175.4million in the EuroMillions draw on Tuesday February 19, 2019.

The Naul syndicate as they became known, made up of nine siblings, broke records to become Ireland’s biggest winners at the time.

The majority of the family remained anonymous after the record-breaking win, but Kathleen Sheridan told us: “We’re still in shock, we just can’t believe it.”

Kathleen’s daughter Emma added: “They’re going to share it between everyone…that’s what they’re like, a real tight-knit family.

“They meet in their house every Sunday and it’s only in the last few weeks they’ve started playing the EuroMillions, because two of their brothers died quite close together last year, so they do that every Sunday.”

Multimillionaire Kathleen and her sister Christine Rogers joined their jackpot-sharing siblings for a family lunch on the week of their win, celebrating their loot with a €12.50 carvery.

The EuroMillions winners first held an hour-long meeting at the Bracken Court Hotel in Balbriggan, north Co Dublin, as they discussed their financial bonanza.

The family went on to claim their prize privately, with syndicate spokesperson Gerry Brown saying the family were “thrilled” and now looking forward to getting on with their lives.

He said: “This is life-changing for all of the family and we are absolutely thrilled.

“We have spent the last week getting independent legal and financial advice, and our win is slowly sinking in.

“We are a very close family and this is a dream come true for us. We want this win to change our lives in a positive way.”

The ticket was sold in Reilly’s Daybreak in Naul and shop owner Les Reilly was “over the moon” at the time of the win, having landed a €25,000 bonus himself for selling the lucky slip.

He said: “I’m over the moon, it will put the place on the map. We will have a shindig.”
