John Cena’s promo and his confrontation with WWE champion Cody Rhodes had everyone amazed. It got rave reviews from fans all over the globe. In the segment, we saw a whole new side of Cena. Rhodes, too, in just a few words expressed his disgust over the justifications Cena gave. It was a long segment but got to the point pretty nicely. A lot of people were impressed but Vince Russo(former WWE writer) wasn’t all that happy with Rhodes’ performance.
Vince Russo thinks Cody Rhodes could have done more
During the latest episode of his show, Russo remembered the last time both John Cena and Cody Rhodes were in the ring.

He pointed out that Cena brutalized Rhodes and all the latter did was call him names. He, then, compared Rhodes’ actions to what Stone Cold Steve Austin would do.
What would Austin do? Guys, let’s not forget. The last time Cody saw Cena, he kicked him square in the nuts. And Cody’s gonna go out there and have a conversation with him? And Cody’s gonna get over on him by saying he’s a whiny b*tch. No bro, he kicked you in the balls and you did nothing. He kicked you in the balls and he was standing in front of you and the best you could do was call him a whiny b*tch. Again, I say this all the time put Austin in that spot. Can you imagine what would happen?
Russo was the head writer of WWE from 1997-1999 when Steve Austin was at his peak. Russo had the help of Vince McMahon to filter out his ideas. It was peak crash TV.
Russo left the company in 1999 for WCW and could not repeat the same success anywhere else. His writing style was heavily criticized, especially in TNA.
Russo becoming an on-screen character was the cherry on top of the cake. He won the WCW Heavyweight Championship in a move that accelerated the death of the company. The fall of a rising TNA can also be mostly attributed to him. His style of “blurring the lines” and unneeded swerves have no audience mostly.
John Cena posts his reaction to the segment with Cody Rhodes
Since the segment, John Cena has posted a picture of Ross and Rachel from the sitcom Friends, who are known to have had marital problems of their own, to illustrate his connection with the fans.

John Cena has now expressed more ideas on his relationship with WWE fans, but this time he has chosen to utilize words rather than images.
In a recent post on his personal X account, Cena was in his usual pensive state and discussed a lack of comprehension, writing:
Expect no one to understand your point of view, especially when it calls for them to look within themselves.

On April 19 and 20, John Cena will compete against Cody Rhodes for the WWE Championship at WrestleMania 41. It will probably be the main vent of the entire PLE.
In response to Cena’s recent behavior, Rhodes said he was sad that he would not be competing against the “real” star at the WWE PLE in Las Vegas. It would be interesting to see how Cena reacts to Cody’s barbs this week. Will Cena brutalize Cody again or will the American Nightmare get his revenge?
