Boy, 14, hit and killed by car towing trailer as man, 24, arrested over ‘drug driving’

A TEENAGE boy has been killed by a suspected drug driver towing a trailer.

The 14-year-old pedestrian sadly died at the scene.

Cops are appealing for information and dash cam footage following the crash in the Waterlooville area of Portsmouth, Hampshire, at around 9pm yesterday.

A local 24-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of causing death by careless driving whilst unfit through drugs and has been released under investigation.

Cops said the boy was hit by a car “towing a trailer”.

His family have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.

Police said: “As part of our investigation we would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the collision or anyone who has relevant dash cam footage capturing the incident or the moments leading up to it.

“Were you on Lovedean Lane around the time of the incident? Did you see the vehicle or pedestrian in the area before the collision?”
