Shoppers with a Boots Advantage Card can access the free offers through the Parenting Club.

Posting pictures of her free breast pads, dummy and milk bottle on the Facebook group, the shopper said: “Both on the Boots app if you’ve signed up to the Parenting Club.

“Bottle and dummy should have been £15.”

Hundreds of shoppers have commented on the post unaware they could snap up the freebies.

Dozens have been left confused by how the scheme works too.

How does the Parenting Club work?

The Parenting Club is open to new parents and those with children aged up to five and entitles you to free gifts at specific times.

You also get eight Advantage Card points for every £1 spent on baby products.

To gain access to the Parenting Club you have to sign up to the Advantage Card scheme first.

You can download the app for free onto your smartphone via the Google Play Store of Apple App Store.

Once you have done this, you can then sign up to the Parenting Club via the app.

After this, free gifts land in your account at specific times based on your stage of pregnancy or child’s age.

For example, customers who are 12-40 weeks pregnant can get Aveeno Baby Daily Hair and Body Wash or Aveeno Baby Kids Bubble Bath for free.

Customers between 12 months pregnant to those with a child aged up to two months can get a Tommee Tippee bottle and soother.

To redeem the freebies, you have to activate the offer in your app and scan it at the till in-store.

Any freebies can’t be redeemed at the self-serve checkout or via the Boots.com website while items are subject to availability.

Not all stores stock the freebies either, so it might be worth calling your closest shop to see if it does.

You also have to be at least 14 years old to join the Parenting Club.

The full list of freebies available and terms and conditions can be viewed via www.boots.com/shopping/advantage-card/parenting-club.

It’s also worth bearing in mind, it can take up to two weeks to receive a welcome email from the Parenting Club after signing up.

If you are left waiting for more than two weeks, you can contact boots.customercare_team@boots.co.uk.

How to bag a bargain

SUN Savers Editor Lana Clements explains how to find a cut-price item and bag a bargain…

Sign up to loyalty schemes of the brands that you regularly shop with.

Big names regularly offer discounts or special lower prices for members, among other perks.

Sales are when you can pick up a real steal.

Retailers usually have periodic promotions that tie into payday at the end of the month or Bank Holiday weekends, so keep a lookout and shop when these deals are on.

Sign up to mailing lists and you’ll also be first to know of special offers. It can be worth following retailers on social media too.

When buying online, always do a search for money off codes or vouchers that you can use vouchercodes.co.uk and myvouchercodes.co.uk are just two sites that round up promotions by retailer.

Scanner apps are useful to have on your phone. Trolley.co.uk app has a scanner that you can use to compare prices on branded items when out shopping.

Bargain hunters can also use B&M’s scanner in the app to find discounts in-store before staff have marked them out.

And always check if you can get cashback before paying which in effect means you’ll get some of your money back or a discount on the item.
