Over the years, Jennifer Garner and Jennifer Lopez have gotten to know each other through Ben Affleck, who is now their mutual ex-husband. When the Argo star married J. Lo, the blended family put their kids above all else, often going on group outings together with Garner. In fact, the 13 Going on 30 star would even hang out with Lopez’s kids without their mom around — and vice versa! Now that J. Lo and Affleck have divorced, the Kiss of the Spider Woman star and Garner are reportedly still as close as ever.
An insider told PEOPLE that Garner and Lopez are still “friends” thanks to their kids. Garner shares Violet, 19, Seraphina, 16, and Samuel, 13, with Affleck, who were married from 2005-2015, and Lopez is mom to 17-year-old twins Max and Emme with ex Marc Anthony. (She previously dated Affleck from 2002-2004, reunited in 2021, got married in 2022, and divorced in 2024.)

“Jennifer Garner reaches out to Jennifer Lopez about her kids. Jennifer Lopez reaches out to Jennifer Garner about her kids. They’re friends,” the source told the outlet. “They have really found a great female support system and communicate.”
That’s amazing! I love how these strong mamas aren’t letting a man get in the way of their friendship and relationship with each other. Because if there’s one thing I know about motherhood, it’s that it definitely takes a village!
The insider also noted, “We’re always pitting women against women. In this case, it’s just not the truth.”
A different source told PEOPLE that the Jennifers “have been on good terms for a while now and seem to enjoy chatting and hanging out” when they’re with the kids. Good for them!

It makes sense that these moms want to continue their friendship because of all the work they put into it. Prior to Lopez’s split with the Accountant 2 star, Garner and Lopez were making it a priority to bond with their kids.
“They communicate rather frequently when it comes to their kids, scheduling plans, etc,” an insider dished to Us Weekly in Jan. 2024. “They know the ones who benefit the most are the children and that’s all they care about. They have a mutual respect for each other as parents and know how well all their kids get along.”
The source added, “They want to foster and nurture those relationships and will do whatever it takes to show their support.”
It’s nice to see that nothing has changed!
