Phuket Power Outage: Bang Tao Prepares for July 4th Blackout Transformation

As the sun rises over the stunning coastline of Phuket, a different kind of surge is about to sweep through the Bang Tao area—not of the tides, but of silence as the hum of electricity fades away. On Friday, July 4, hundreds of homes, hotels, and businesses are bracing themselves for a planned power outage, all in the name of progress. From 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., the area will witness an unusual tranquility as the Provincial Electricity Authority (PEA) Thalang Branch rolls out high-voltage upgrades and sets up new poles along Srisoonthorn Road, carving a path towards the magnificent Surin Beach. This blackout represents a significant infrastructural facelift, affecting a strip starting from the Thalang Power Station 3, stretching all the way to Laem Singh Viewpoint. Nestled within this zone are Moo Baan 2, 3, and 5 in Cherng Talay, each preparing for a day off the grid. Soi…

Trolls call me ‘entitled’ because I drive a Range Rover but live in a council house – I don’t care, haters are jealous

A MOTHER has been slammed by trolls because she drives a Range Rover but lives in a council house.

The first-time mum, who posts online under the username ‘Life With RM’, has been accused of being “selfish” and “entitled”.

But the content creator, who is on a mission to increase her followers, isn’t bothered by what the haters say and believes that keyboard warriors are just “jealous”.

Posting on social media, the mother responded to a rude remark from a hater that read: “You have a council house and a Range Rover. Something is wrong here.”

But eager to clap back and set the record straight, the young woman mimed along to Billy Joel’s 1978 song ‘My Life’.

Looking at the camera, she carefreely sang: “I don’t care what you say anymore, this is my life.”

The mother then pointed to the comment, shook her head and wrote: “That sounds like a you problem mate.”

The TikTok clip, which was posted under the username @life.with.rm, has clearly left many open-mouthed, as it has quickly racked up 21,700 views.

Not only this, but it’s also amassed 357 likes and 155 comments.

Big divide

But social media users were left totally divided by the woman’s clip – while some were eager to support her and questioned the unjust response from trolls, others didn’t agree and called her “selfish”.

One person said: “This is why council houses should be means tested, if you’re earning that much you don’t need a council house like those who don’t work or or a low income.”

Another added: “The fact is you wouldn’t be able to buy the Range Rover if you were renting on the open market.

“Social rent allows you to do this. After you earn a certain amount you should give the property back.”

A third commented: “This is exactly the entitled culture nowadays. Subsidised rent and keeping the true poor out.

“Selfish but to be honest I’d expect nothing less.”

But at the same time, one woman wrote: “Some people are so jealous, they lack common sense, live your life darling.”

The reality of living in a council house

LEANNE Hall, Digital Writer at Fabulous, has discussed what it was like growing up in a council house, and why those living in such properties are often judged...

When I was a child I grew up in a council house, and was blissfully unaware of the discrimination that came with that, until I became an adult.
My younger years were spent running up and down the stairs of my flat, meeting with other friends who lived there and making the most of the communal garden.
But now, it seems no matter your circumstance, everyone has something to say about why you shouldn’t be there.
Living just outside of London like I did, rent prices are still high, and as my mum was at home raising three kids at the time, it wasn’t easy to find a job that fit around that.
People in council houses are often labelled as ‘scroungers’ or ‘lazy’ but it’s nothing of the sort.
Most families in council homes experience overcrowding, and let’s not even mention the horrendous amount of damp and mould that comes from living in old social housing that hasn’t had work done to them in 50 or so years.
It’s not ideal for many, but it does provide a secure home without the fear your rent will shoot up every single year, which I would argue is vital to children growing up on the poverty line.

A second chimed in: “It’s just jealousy! You can have both! Enjoy it and shove your fingers up to the haters.”

Whilst someone else questioned: “What’s the problem with having a council house and the car you want?”

To this, the TikTok creator wrote back and alongside a crying emoji, replied: “Apparently we’re not allowed to.”

A person wrote in the comments section: “Oh noooooo the lips have been done.”

The teen replied: “No they haven’t? x”

Plenty of her other followers rushed in to defend Princess and told her she looked gorgeous.

“Actually they haven’t been touched with anything other than a lip liner and a good gloss!” wrote one person.

And another added: “Ignore it hunny. Some people have nothing better to be doing than putting comments like that up. Hope you had a lovely birthday.”

Princess is the daughter of singer Peter Andre and Katie Price, the latter of which has undergone countless procedures over the years including veneers, filler, Botox, BBL, facelifts and boob jobs.

But Princess has insisted she will stay natural, but did not judge anyone for the choices they made for their own body.

“I feel like everyone is entitled to do what they want to their body. But I personally don’t look at [cosmetic surgery] and think: ”Oh, yeah, I want to do that’,” she previously told The Sun.

“I think it’s important, especially for the younger generation on social media, to embrace natural beauty. My sisters are 10, and I want to set an example to them that they’re amazing how they are.”

Katie sparked an uproar when she posted a birthday tribute to Princess two days before her actual 18th on June 29 and then posted another tribute on the wrong date.

Getting her dates mixed up two days previously, Katie wished her daughter and “best friend” happy birthday before swiftly deleting the post.

Dad Peter’s tribute to Princess warned her to “be careful in this crazy world.”

The Parkside Plant Watering Spikes can be set up easily[/caption]

Lidl’s Parkside Plant Watering Spikes are tiny devices which can be easily planted in the soil, through its ergonomic stand.

All you need to do is fill the container and choose from one of the device’s eight settings.

The settings range from one, which gives a slow release of water, and eight, which allows water to flow freely.

Continuous watering whilst you’re away

Over time, the devices dribble water into the ground – allowing for a continuous irrigation of your plants

They can be used indoors and outdoors too and have a capacity of 0.5L, which is roughly equivalent to a store-bought bottle of water.

The watering spikes also come in green, allowing them to easily blend in with your lawn.

The clever creations cost just £1.99 and will be available from July 6.

Lidl often goes viral for its low-cost, high-quality products.

The German retailer’s plant range is a firm-favourite amongst shoppers, with many of its products selling for £1.99.

What else is in store?

Plants like the beautiful Hibiscus are available to buy in the store’s popular middle aisle, where it keeps homeware and discount items.

On July 7, a new range of plants will become available – at the same time as the watering spikes.

British bedding plants are only £1.99 for six plug plants, whereas garden hydrangeas are £8.99 each.

If you prefer a fragrant plant, why not add English lavender into a pot or border – only £3.99.

There’s also an assortment of clematis hitting stores on the same day for £4.99.

Mini roses and campanula are £2.99.

Interest in products like the watering spikes and its plant range has surged after the UK sizzled in roasting heatwaves.

Temperatures in the South East have soared in recent days, with highs of 33.6C being recorded in Kent.

The Wimbledon Championships had its hottest start on record, with temperatures of 32.9C being detected at the nearby Kew Gardens.
