Supercomputer predicts 2025/26 Premier League table as Man Utd shoot up table and Arsenal have record breaking season

A SUPERCOMPUTER has predicted the final table for the 2025/26 Premier League season after all fixtures were released today.

And while it spells good news for Manchester United, it will also see Arsenal break an unwanted top-flight record.

Ruben Amorim and Mikel Arteta’s men have already been left reeling from the fact they will face each other on the opening weekend of the new campaign.

United’s Old Trafford clash against Arsenal was the pick of the bunch when fixtures were released by the Premier League on Wednesday morning.

But while both sides have several tricky patches throughout their campaign, a boffin supercomputer from AceOdds called BETSiE reckons United and Arsenal are on course for top-half finishes.

Despite coming 15th last season, the Red Devils are expected to shoot up the table to a ninth-place finish.

While not in the mix for the title, United are only expected to finish around two points off European football — a marked improvement from last term where seventh place evaded them by 23 points.

As for Arsenal, they are once again backed into Champions League football.

But the supercomputer reckons there will yet again be no title heading to the Emirates, with Arsenal expected to finish second once more.

Should they claim another silver medal under Mikel Arteta, it would see the Gunners create an unwanted record of becoming the first team in Premier League history to finish second FOUR times in a row.

BEST FREE BETS AND BETTING SIGN UP OFFERS

May saw them already match the record for three consecutive runners-up finishes — again set by Arsenal between 1999 and 2001.

And Arteta will be hoping to avoid picking up a permanent bridesmaid tag in his quest for title glory.

Elsewhere in the table, Liverpool are tipped to successfully defend their Premier League title — but only by a single point.

In fact, after finishing the most recent campaign with 84 points — the lowest winning total since Leicester’s 81 points in 2016 — Arne Slot’s men are only expected to pick up around 77 points next season.

That places them two points just ahead of Arsenal, with Man City also in the mix with a third-place finish on 74 points.

Coming in fourth are Chelsea on 69 points, around eight points clear of fifth-place Newcastle and 11 ahead of sixth-place Aston Villa — thus mirroring last term’s top six positions.

Tottenham are expected to make up for finishing 17th by moving 10 places up the table into seventh and sealing a spot in the Conference League.

While Bournemouth and Crystal Palace are predicted to sandwich ninth-place United.

The bottom half of the table sees Brighton finish above Nottingham Forest, who are not expected to repeat their heroics from the previous season that sealed a Conference League finish.

Brentford, Fulham and Everton are next in line, with West Ham finishing a disappointing 16th — two places lower than a year before.

Finally, Wolves are expected to be the final team to survive, nine points ahead of Championship winners Leeds.

Burnley are tipped for 19th spot, while Sunderland are expected to go straight back down with 29 points — a higher tally than any of the relegated teams from the pervious campaign.

Man Utd announce FURTHER increase in ticket prices despite suffering worst Premier League season in club’s history

MANCHESTER UNITED have announced an increase in ticket prices despite finishing 15th in the Premier League last season.

That was their worst Prem finish in history, yet non-season ticket holders will be forced to dig deeper into their pockets for the upcoming campaign.

United have also introduced match categorisation for the first time for 2025/26.

That sees Prem fixtures split up into three categories, with cup tickets in a separate, and cheapest, slot costing £32-£52.

The three league categories are A, B and C, with the most expensive option costing £97.

That ticket falls under Category A which will be in place for six Prem matches, although the club state less than one per cent of tickets will cost £97.

The majority of matches will be included Category B, priced between £57-£86.

While just two league games, against Sunderland and Wolves, will be selected for the cheapest category, C, where prices range from £37 to £60.

The six Category A fixtures are Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester City, Newcastle, Tottenham and Leeds.

The new pricing model means the average cost of a general admission match ticket is £46.51, compared to £41.41 for the 2024/25 campaign.

That clash has already been selected as one of the TV games and will feature on Sky Sports’ Super Sunday.

The broadcaster will also show the first Prem game of the season between Liverpool and Bournemouth, as well as Aston Villa vs Newcastle for the lunchtime kick-off.

Wolves vs City is Saturday’s evening kick off, while Sunday will see Chelsea take on Crystal Palace at Stamford Bridge in front of Sky cameras.

World Pool ambassador Ryan Moore talks through his rides on day two of Royal Ascot

THE sun is out and Love is in the air on Day Two.

My afternoon kicks off with TRUE LOVE (2.30)  in the five-furlong Queen Mary.

Ryan Moore talks through his rides on day two at Ascot[/caption]

She has finished second on both starts so far but she is  by No Nay Never and is a big, strong filly who will be suited by a strong pace over this trip.

SHACKLETON (3.05) needed the run over a mile and a quarter at the Curragh last time and it was a messy race. He will take a step forward for that. You must stay the trip round here and my horse will.

Some people out there still doubt LOS ANGELES (4.20) but that doesn’t bother me. He’s rock solid and I wouldn’t swap him for anything.

The stiff mile and a quarter at Ascot will suit him well. Anmaat won the Champions Stakes in October and ran well when we fended him off at the Curragh last month. He’s an obvious threat.

See The Fire has been supplemented at a fair cost and was impressive at York. She  is a lovely filly but maybe she is better suited to the Knavesmire rather than here.

Map Of Stars was a little unlucky when second in the Prix Ganay and Ombudsman is a talented horse who I’ve ridden a couple of times. He might not want the ground as quick as it will be today.

I’m on THE LIFFEY (5.00) in the Royal Hunt Cup, who has been very well backed. He finished fourth on his first start for Joseph O’Brien  in a Listed race at Navan.

That form has been franked, as the winner has gone on to win a decent race in France. There’s plenty to like about The Liffey, but it’s  very competitive and lots of yards will think they have a well-handicapped horse.

I close with FIRST APPROACH (6.10) as Kansas is a non-runner. He was too keen last time and didn’t stay the six furlongs so dropping back in trip is the right move. It looks wide open.

I went on fat jabs but the hair loss was unbelievable so I quit – I’d rather be chubby with hair than skinny and bald

A WOMAN who went on Mounjaro to lose weight has been forced to quit after suffering horrendous hair loss.

Carrie initially took to TikTok to bemoan how much her hair has thinned out since starting on the fat jabs, as she said: “No one tells you this, but if you’re thinking about going on Mounjaro think again.

She started losing hair in her second month on the fat jabs – when she was on 5mg[/caption]

And by her fourth month, when she’d moved up to 7.5mg, her hair loss was at its worst[/caption]

And she made the decision to quit after the hair loss became too much to bear[/caption]

“Because you have to choose between your hair and your weight.”

She added that she’s “chosen to be chubby with hair rather than skinny and bald”.

“Just because I don’t suit being bald. I tried that TikTok filter and it’s just not…”

“Chubby with hair,” she captioned her video.

And the comments section was immediately filled with people weighing in, with many agreeing with Carrie.

“Mounjaro left me with 3 strands of hair!!” one wrote.

“I’ve been on it 3 months and I’ve been taking vitamins from the doctors,” another added.

“I’ve still got really bad hair loss, I’m hoping it gets better.”

“I said this!!!! I said my hair is thin and not growing anymore!” a third admitted.

“I lost almost half my hair, I started taking collagen and bought expensive ish shampoo and conditioner,” someone else wrote.

“Barely lose hair now!”

“I hear you girl, I lost so much hair. But now I’m skinny and trying to grow it back,” another added.

However, others accused her of “scaremongering”, with one insisting they’d lost five stone and “not one hair”.

“Not true. I have lost 140lb and I have LOADS of hair – ungodly amounts,” another added.

“Stop spreading misinformation!” someone else commented.

“Not only do I work in the pharmaceutical industry but I’m on Mounjaro.

Everything you need to know about fat jabs

Weight loss jabs are all the rage as studies and patient stories reveal they help people shed flab at almost unbelievable rates, as well as appearing to reduce the risk of serious diseases.

Wegovy – a modified version of type 2 diabetes drug Ozempic – and Mounjaro are the leading weight loss injections used in the UK.

Wegovy, real name semaglutide, has been used on the NHS for years while Mounjaro (tirzepatide) is a newer and more powerful addition to the market.

Mounjaro accounts for most private prescriptions for weight loss and is set to join Wegovy as an NHS staple this year.

How do they work?

The jabs work by suppressing your appetite, making you eat less so your body burns fat for energy instead and you lose weight.

They do this my mimicking a hormone called GLP-1, which signals to the brain when the stomach is full, so the drugs are officially called GLP-1 receptor agonists.

They slow down digestion and increase insulin production, lowering blood sugar, which is why they were first developed to treat type 2 diabetes in which patients’ sugar levels are too high.

Can I get them?

NHS prescriptions of weight loss drugs, mainly Wegovy and an older version called Saxenda (chemical name liraglutide), are controlled through specialist weight loss clinics.

Typically a patient will have to have a body mass index (BMI) of 30 or higher, classifying them as medically obese, and also have a weight-related health condition such as high blood pressure.

GPs generally do not prescribe the drugs for weight loss.

Private prescribers offer the jabs, most commonly Mounjaro, to anyone who is obese (BMI of 30+) or overweight (BMI 25-30) with a weight-related health risk.

Private pharmacies have been rapped for handing them out too easily and video calls or face-to-face appointments are now mandatory to check a patient is being truthful about their size and health.

Are there any risks?

Yes – side effects are common but most are relatively mild.

Around half of people taking the drug experience gut issues, including sickness, bloating, acid reflux, constipation and diarrhoea.

Dr Sarah Jarvis, GP and clinical consultant at patient.info, said: “One of the more uncommon side effects is severe acute pancreatitis, which is extremely painful and happens to one in 500 people.”

Other uncommon side effects include altered taste, kidney problems, allergic reactions, gallbladder problems and hypoglycemia.

Evidence has so far been inconclusive about whether the injections are damaging to patients’ mental health.

Figures obtained by The Sun show that, up to January 2025, 85 patient deaths in the UK were suspected to be linked to the medicines.

“Any kind of weight loss can make your hair go into Telogen phase (the resting and shedding stage of the hair growth cycle).

“It’s only temporary not permanent and taking vitamins will help!”

Carrie further opened up about her hair loss to Fabulous Online, as she said it began in her second month of being on Mounjaro, when she was on a dose strength of 5mg.

And when she moved up to 7.5mg in her fourth month, she saw the most hair loss.

“I have come off it and hoping my hair grows back but I would never take it again,” she sighed.

“I’ve always had good hair, nails and gums.

“It affected all three of those near enough instantaneously.”

Not only that but Carrie “only fluctuated by a few pounds the whole time” she was on it.

“I’m not the only one by far that this has happened to, thousands of women agree with me,” she said, adding: “But I understand the treatment works for some.”

Four items drivers should NEVER leave inside their car in blazing sunshine as heatwave ‘likely’ this weekend

MOTORISTS are being urged to think twice about what they leave behind in their vehicles, as forecasters warn that a heatwave is “likely” to hit parts of the UK later this week.

With temperatures expected to climb to a scorching 34C in some areas, certain everyday items could pose serious risks if left in the car.

Battery-powered electronics such as smartphones, tablets, laptops and even portable chargers should also be removed from the car during sunny weather[/caption]

Getty
The inside of a car can quickly become much hotter than the outside air, especially when parked in direct sunlight[/caption]

In counties such as Surrey, where high temperatures are expected, drivers are being encouraged to clear their vehicles of particular items that may react dangerously to heat.

The Met Office defines a UK heatwave as a period of at least three consecutive days in which temperatures reach or exceed a specified threshold.

In the South East, including Surrey, Greater London, Buckinghamshire, and neighbouring counties, that threshold is 28C – the highest classification in the country.

While many motorists may already be planning ahead for warm weather, experts say that failing to remove common items from inside a parked car could result in damage, safety hazards, or even health risks.

The inside of a car can quickly become much hotter than the outside air, especially when parked in direct sunlight.

One item to be particularly wary of is bottled water.

Although staying hydrated is essential during hot weather, leaving plastic bottles in the car can be dangerous.

When plastic is exposed to intense heat, it can release harmful chemicals into the water, making it unsafe to drink.

What’s more, if the bottle is left on a seat or dashboard, sunlight magnified through the bottle could potentially start a fire by focusing rays on flammable materials.

Another unexpected hazard is sun cream.

While it’s a must-have during sunny spells, the packaging of sun cream isn’t designed to withstand extreme heat for prolonged periods.

Heat can cause the contents to expand, potentially bursting open and leaking onto seats or other surfaces, leaving difficult stains.

Beyond the mess, high temperatures can also degrade the ingredients in the cream, making it less effective at protecting your skin from UV rays.

Medicines are also at risk in sweltering conditions.

Many over-the-counter treatments, including common painkillers like paracetamol or ibuprofen, can lose their effectiveness if exposed to heat.

Although the tablets might look unchanged, their chemical structure could be compromised.

Medical professionals recommend that drivers always read the storage instructions included with any medication and avoid leaving them in a hot vehicle unless clearly stated otherwise.

Battery-powered electronics such as smartphones, tablets, laptops and even portable chargers should also be removed from the car during sunny weather.

These devices contain lithium-ion batteries which are sensitive to heat.

When exposed to temperatures above 40C – which can easily be reached inside a closed vehicle – batteries can malfunction, drain faster, or in rare cases, overheat to the point of catching fire.

Even if they don’t ignite, long-term exposure to high temperatures can shorten a device’s lifespan significantly.

There are other heat-sensitive items that drivers should avoid leaving behind.

Aerosol cans, for example, are extremely sensitive to heat and can explode when internal pressure builds up in high temperatures.

Items like make-up, particularly lipsticks and foundations, can melt and seep into seats or fabrics, leaving behind stubborn stains and strong smells.

Food should also be cleared from the car – not only because it can spoil quickly in the heat, but also because it can attract pests or leave unpleasant odours.

Plastic toys, particularly those left by children on back seats or dashboards, can also warp or emit fumes if left in the sun for too long.

These toys may not pose an immediate safety threat, but they can easily become deformed, sticky, or unusable after just a few hours in the heat.

‘Murdered’ mum’s kids were ‘at a sleepover’ when she was stabbed to death before house exploded in ‘gas blast’

THE CHILDREN of a mum who was stabbed to death before the house exploded are understood to have been at a sleepover when the tragedy unfolded.

Charity worker Annabel Rook was discovered in the London home after the street “shook” from a suspected gas blast.

The 46-year-old mum was a “truly kind and gentle soul”, her neighbours said.

A friend of the family said her two sons were at a sleepover on Tuesday when she died.

They told The Standard: “We know them well. Our kids are in the same class. The school is on the corner. We are all here because of the school.

“They have two little boys. The kids were out at a sleepover. We know the family from birthday parties, everything.”

A mother-of-two, Annabel supported women who are survivors of gender based violence, female migrants and child refugees for two decades.

A 44-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder.

He was taken to hospital with slash wounds where he currently remains. His condition is not life-changing or life-threatening.

Some 40 firefighters scrambled to the scene to put out a blaze which started an hour after neighbours heard “massive bangs” from the peaceful family home in Stoke Newington, North London.

Two children, aged seven and nine, were taken to hospital as a precaution, but are not currently believed to have been in the building during the explosion.

Cops said: “We do believe this to be a domestic-related incident.”

Ms Rook was the co-founder and head of the refugee and women’s charity MamaSuze, and had worked with “marginalised and displaced people” for more than two decades.

Neighbours in the leafy London suburb told The Sun they heard a “massive bang” before paramedics attempted to resuscitate Ms Rook on the street outside her £1million home.

One said: “I knew them and their kids very well. We are in complete shock. Our daughter was their babysitter.

“Smoke was billowing around the street and we had to shut all our windows.

“It is lucky nothing happened to nobody else.”

Ms Rook was the head of several special projects at the accomplished charity including its well-regarded theatre productions.

In a post on social media, she had written: “I have been working with marginalised and displaced people for over 20 years.

“I believe the ability to play and create should be a fundamental human right and in my work I aim to enable people to be creative and help them find their voice.

“At MamaSuze, we strive to create a joyful, inclusive space dedicated to enhancing the lives of women and children who are survivors of forced displacement and gender based violence.

“We build a strong community through offering diverse workshops in different art forms that nurture creativity, foster social connections and rebuild confidence and identity.”

Detective Chief Superintendent Brittany Clarke, who leads policing in the local area, said:  “This is an extremely tragic incident and our thoughts are with the victim’s family at this very difficult time.

“Our officers arrested a man on suspicion of murder at the scene and will be conducting interviews as soon as possible, to establish the full circumstances that led to Annabel’s death.

“While enquiries continue, at this early stage we do believe this to be a domestic-related incident.

“We understand what happened will cause concern within the Hackney community and residents can expect to see an increased police presence in the area, along with a crime scene, as we carry out the investigation.

“We are working closely alongside our partners at Hackney Council to help support those residents locally who have been impacted by this.”

The Metropolitan Police said: “A woman aged 46 was found inside the property with stab wounds.

“Despite the efforts of paramedics, she was sadly declared dead at the scene.

“A 44-year-old man was arrested at the address on suspicion of murder.

“He was taken to hospital with slash wounds where he currently remains. His condition is not life-changing or life-threatening.

“Two children aged nine and seven have also been taken to hospital as a precaution but are not believed to have been inside the property at the time of the gas explosion.”

LFB station commander Darren McTernan said: “Motorists and pedestrians are advised to avoid the area for most of this morning while investigations into the cause of this incident are carried out.

“There are road closures in place on Stoke Newington Church Street from the junction of the A10 to Defoe Road.

“Residents should also note that Kersley Road is completely shut at this time.”

Crews from Stoke Newington, Islington, Homerton and Holloway fire stations were called to the scene.

The Met and London Fire Brigade (LFB) are investigating the cause.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call police on 101 quoting CAD 926/17June or to remain anonymous call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

Timeform boffins have picked out these tips on day two at Royal Ascot including big fancy for Aidan O’Brien

THE boffins at Timeform reckon punters should side with Karl Burke in the opening race on Day Two, the 25-runner Group 2 Queen Mary over five furlongs.

The bookies do too as they have North Yorkshire trainer Burke’s ZELAINA (2.30) as the 9-4 favourite after her visually impressive debut win at Nottingham.

Three horses racing in the Tattersalls Gold Cup.
PA
Los Angeles is well-fancied in today’s Prince Of Wales’s Stakes[/caption]

Timeform have her on a rating of 90P, the large ‘P’ denoting a horse expected to show significant improvement.

If she does, it could take her past the current top-rated filly in the race True Love who is also expected to improve from her rating of 93p.

Punters should also note canny Burke has won two of the last three editions of this race.

LOS ANGELES (4.20) is not just the top-rated runner in the Prince Of Wales’s Stakes, Timeform make him the second-best horse currently in training in Britain and Ireland.

The form gurus were particularly taken by his win in last month’s Tattersalls Gold Cup which earned him a rating of 126, 2lb less than stablemate Jan Brueghel.

What Los Angeles may lack for in true superstar quality he makes up for with his never-say-die attitude which was too much for Anmaat at The Curragh who looked as if he was going to win but waved the white flag when gritty Los Angeles eyeballed him and battled back.

However Timeform have Anmaat just 1lb behind on 125. See The Fire has a rating of 120 but her 3lb fillies’ allowance edges her closer on 123.

ROGUE LEGEND (6.10) is worth the wait. Timeform reckon he has the best form in the race and they believe a repeat of his win in a conditions race at Tipperary would be good enough today.

He is on a rating of 105p – a whopping 15lb clear of his rivals in this.
