Michelle Keegan’s parenting style is causing havoc in Essex – as jealous local mums tell us why they’re fuming

MICHELLE Keegan is basking in joy since the birth of her beautiful baby girl – but cruel whispers could trouble her happiness.

It is claimed that “jealous” locals are reportedly unimpressed with her seemingly effortless postpartum journey, which she’s been documenting online in the weeks since her and hubby Mark Wright’s daughter, Palma, was born.

Michelle, who recently bagged herself a six-figure sum to become the new face of Sky, has been excitedly sharing snaps of her living it up at the Cannes film festival, on holiday in Spain and showing off her incredible post-baby figure in tiny swimsuits from her own fashion range.

But a source claims that fellow Essex mums are turning on the star because they believe Michelle, 38, is “rubbing people up the wrong way” by not showing the ‘reality’ of life with a newborn.

“Local mums seem to be pretty jealous that Michelle has bounced back from having a baby so quickly and so effortlessly,” a source told Fabulous.

‘Pretty jealous’

“It has rubbed them up the wrong way that she’s showing off her incredible postpartum figure on lavish holidays just weeks after giving birth.

“A lot of them – like most new mums – are struggling to form a sentence, they’re so tired, so to watch as Michelle goes and secures a six-figure deal with a huge company, with barely a hair out of place, well they can’t get their heads around it.

“These are women who pride themselves on looking good and presenting themselves in the most glam way possible, and they can’t believe Michelle is walking the walk while they struggle with sleepless nights and screaming babies.”

Sources claim that Michelle’s seemingly ‘easy’ postpartum journey has been the talk of mum and baby groups in the Ongar and Epping Forest area of Essex, where she and Mark, 38, have lived since 2019.

While some women are in awe of Michelle and celebrate the fact that she appears to be smashing motherhood, others are scratching their heads as to why the former Corrie actress isn’t showing the downsides of postpartum life.

The source claimed: “Everybody’s journey is different, so it’s weird why some people are so fixated on Michelle and how well she’s doing.”

“Some mums are complaining that she should use her platform as a celeb to show how difficult these first few months can be, to make other new mums feel better, but instead she’s showing off her holidays and going to award shows in expensive outfits.

“They say she’s not being real, which is strange, as a lot of these women don’t actually know Michelle or her experience. It’s up to her what she does and doesn’t share on social media.”

Indeed, Michelle has always been very careful not to share anything negative with her 7.5 million Instagram followers, preferring to focus on successful professional achievements and fun family adventures.

Recent posts, shared since Palma’s birth on March 6th, have included shots of her showing off her figure in her Orfila Bee swimwear range, walking the red carpet at Cannes as an ambassador for L’Oreal, images of her modelling her Very clothing collection, stills from her hit Sky show Brassic and snaps of her in a bikini on holiday in Spain with her daughter.

‘Winding them up’

But envious local mums believe Michelle is out of touch, an insider claims.

“The complaint is mainly that she’s showing off a life which is so unattainable to most people, especially struggling new mums, that it’s winding them up,” the source continued.

“Where’s the tired eyes, the wobbly belly? I think the bitterness comes from the fact that a lot of them expected her to be a regular at the baby groups in town, but she’s actually very busy and selective right now.

“Perhaps that annoys people who thought they might get to befriend her.”

According to our insider, Michelle is well-liked around Ongar but is relatively private due to her busy schedule.

Many mums thought that having Palma would automatically make Michelle a stay-at-home mum who would fully integrate herself into the community.

The source added: “Everyone in Essex would love to be friends with Mark and Michelle.

The complaint is mainly that she’s showing off a life which is so unattainable to most people, especially struggling new mums, that it’s winding them up

“But the reality is, she’s flying in her career right now and doesn’t appear to be slowing down, so I doubt she’ll be filling her days at the local playgroup.

“I think a lot of women are disappointed they won’t actually be spending much time with her.”

Michelle’s mum, Jackie, has reportedly been staying with her and Mark to help with Palma, which is no doubt another reason why Michelle has been able to juggle motherhood, work and getting back into shape.

And it hasn’t gone unnoticed by fans, many who have been quick to heap praise on Michelle.

“How does anyone look that amazing after just having a baby?” asked one gobsmacked follower in response to Michelle showing off her range with Very.co.uk, which included plunging bodycon dresses.

Another joked, “You look absolutely stunning…I am still trying to get my post-baby figure back, and my baby is 17 this year!”

Mark and Michelle have been careful to keep Palma out of the limelight, opting to secure her face in any public social media posts.

However, they have shown the back of the little one in various pics with her family, including Mark’s sister Jessica and mum Carol

The clan have been sunning themselves in Spain while Michelle celebrates the incredible Sky deal, which will see her share a screen with actor Idris Elba in new promo ads, to be broadcast across the world.

A source previously told The Sun: “Landing this ad is huge for Michelle, as she’s fast becoming a brand in her own right. Everything she touches seems to turn to gold.”

Watch incredible moment elderly dog Doodle bravely fights off BEAR after beast smashes into house while owner slept

THIS is the heart stopping moment a dutiful pup is caught squaring up to a bear after it broke into a Californian home.

Footage shows the 17-year-old dog named Doodle watch the beast smash through the door before trying to fend it off with his barks.

All this while the dog’s owner, Zoe Cadman, lay fast asleep.

The nail-biting moment, which saw the hairy intruder roam around the house for almost half an hour, was caught on Zoe’s home security cam.

Unprovoked, the bear is then seen wandering over to the fridge and raid its contents before making its way out – leaving both Zoe and Doodle unscathed.

Fit with a massive collar, it’s not clear whether the bear was being monitored or if it belonged to anyone.

But neighbors suggest the enormous creature is a frequent visitor.

One local told NBC Los Angeles: “It’s part of living up here. We’re really close to the mountains and they were here first.

“But luckily, knock on wood, they’ve all been really friendly coming through here.”

This isn’t the first time nosy bears have come up close and personal with humans.

Last year, disturbing footage showed the moment a man was savagely attacked by a raging 40st bear at a zoo.

The man climbed the 13ft enclosure and jumped into the bear pit before the beast tossed him around like a rag doll.

Footage shot by shocked visitors shows the bear pouncing on the man, said to be in his mid-20s, before grabbing him and clamping its jaws around his shoulders.

He was seen bleeding from the head, arms and left hand after the brutal attack while the emergency services scrambled into action.

Around 40 bear attacks take place around the globe every year – and some of them turn out to be fatal.

Last year, a massive brown bear fatally mauled a father and son after the raging beast broke into their home.

The man-eating bear broke into the house in Luchegorsk, Primorsky region in eastern Russia, killing and eating the pair, aged 87 and 56.

Meanwhile, another man was savagely mauled to death by a wild brown bear as he picked mushrooms in a forest in Slovakia.

The beast tore one of the victim’s main arteries with just its paw, the rescuers’ report claims.

Despite an emergency chopper being able to locate the man in the tricky terrain, they were too late and couldn’t save him.

Another woman was left dead and five others injured after two separate bear attacks just hours apart in Slovakia.

Meanwhile, a Belarusian woman was found dead in the Low Tatras mountains while five others were injured by a rampaging bear just eight miles away in Liptovsky Mikulas.

In a shocking case, a hoverboard-riding circus bear attacked its handler during a cruel show in front of screaming families in Russia.

The raging female bear suddenly became agitated and lunged at the circus performer during a show packed with kids and parents in Biysk.

The captive animal launched itself at Sergei Prichinich, 48, after she seemed fed up of having to perform on the hoverboard.

‘Galloping all the way to the bank’ – Irish punter wins five-figure sum after placing €15 Royal Ascot bet

AN Irish punter is set to “gallop all the way to the bank” after bagging a five-figure sum off a €15 Royal Ascot bet.

The Irish Mirror report the lucky gambler won in excess of €20,000 based off a €0.50 each-way Lucky 15 bet.

A major upset in the Ascot Stakes sealed the deal for the Irish punter[/caption]

They shrewdly managed to predict four winners across the opening day of this year’s Festival.

16/1 shot Docklands, 9/2 price Gstaad, American Affair at 14/1 all initially did the business for him/her.

That meant ‘all’ they needed was 22/1 outsider Ascending to emerge victorious in the Ascot Stakes at 5pm.

Sure enough, the Henry de Bromhead-trained six-year-old upset the odds and the punter was a cool €20,747.60 richer.

Lawrence Lyons, spokesperson for BoyleSports, commented: “Hats off to our Galway customer who is galloping all the way to the bank after turning their savvy Ascot selections into such a handsome windfall.

“We hope they have a right royal celebration and enjoy the rest of the week knowing they conquered one of the crown jewels of the racing calendar.”

Ascending’s ascension came at the expense of favourite Reaching High – who is owned by none other than King Charles.

The British monarch could only watch on in shock from the Royal Box as the 11/4 chance failed to dazzle in the sun and finished a distant ninth.

Thousands of revellers who were enjoying a scorching day at the Berkshire racecourse and had backed the favourite were also left stunned.

Charles, 76, and Queen Camilla, 77, had been cheering from the Royal Box but were seen leaving shortly after the loss — even with two more races to go.

Despite being trained by legendary Willie Mullins and ridden by top jockey Ryan Moore, the horse got stuck in the pack and never hit the front.

Mullins said: “Ryan just said he got no run. He’s finished full of running, but just got no luck in running, so it’s disappointing.

“Their Majesties are very easy, lovely people to train for and it’s a pleasure.

“There’s a bit more pressure when you train one for them at this meeting, but to bring one here with a real chance is what we like to do.

“Hopefully this fellow will show us how good he is at some stage later in the season.”

King Charles, whose only Ascot win was Desert Hero in 2023, is set to attend every day of the five-day festival after The Sun revealed he was surprised at how much he enjoyed the occasion.

He had taken over his mum Queen Elizabeth II’s stable of horses. She had more than 20 Royal Ascot winners during her 70-year reign.

Earlier, Charles had written in the official racecard: “Having experienced the thrill of victory at Royal Ascot ourselves in 2023, we can only wish all those competing this week the very best of luck and that everyone watching has a most enjoyable five days.”

Britain’s worst airport for flight cancellations revealed – are you flying from there this summer?

THE British airport with the most flight cancellations has officially been named.

New data revealed the amount of flights axed at all major UK airports across 2023 and 2024.

The new study was conducted by flight compensation specialists at AirAdvisor and analysed scheduled departures from 20 of the busiest airports by passenger traffic across the UK.

Hubs in England, Scotland, Wales, and the North of Ireland were studied over the last two years.

The research found that the average flight cancellation rate in 2024 was 1.46% across the UK airports.

This was a slight decline from the 1.78% recorded for 2023.

Southampton emerged as the UK’s worst major airport for cancelled flights.

The location was followed by Belfast City, London City, Aberdeen, and Glasgow airports.

Punctuality statistics from the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) cited that 3.57% of flights from Southampton were cancelled in 2024.

According to the CAA, cancelled flights are defined as “the non-operation of a previously planned flight, announced less than 24 hours before or after its scheduled departure time”.

Meanwhile, London’s major airports, consisting of Heathrow, Gatwick, Stansted, Luton, and London City, saw the number of flights cancelled fall by almost 15% between 2023 and 2024.

Belfast City Airport saw 3.31% of scheduled flights axed, which was down from 3.5% in 2023.

Cancellations at London City Airport stood at 3.13%, a decrease from 4% the previous year.

Aberdeen Airport saw 2.7% of flights cancelled in 2024, while Glasgow Airport rang in at 2.15%.

On the other hand, the findings also revealed the five UK airports with the lowest cancellation rates in 2024.

Bournemouth took the top spot for the second year running with a rate of just 0.08%.

East Midlands International came in second at 0.39%, followed by Belfast International at 0.41%, Luton at 0.58%, and Bristol at 0.66%.

The UK's worst airports for flight cancellations

  • Southampton – 3.57%
  • Belfast City – 3.31%
  • London City – 3.13%
  • Aberdeen – 2.7%
  • Glasgow – 2.15%
  • Cardiff – 1.93%
  • Heathrow – 1.73%
  • Leeds Bradford – 1.69%
  • Gatwick – 1.53%
  • Edinburgh – 1.19%
  • Newcastle – 1.03%
  • Manchester – 1%
  • Birmingham – 0.82%
  • Stansted – 0.78%
  • Liverpool John Lennon – 0.7%
  • Bristol – 0.66%
  • Luton – 0.58%
  • Belfast International – 0.41%
  • East Midlands International – 0.39%
  • Bournemouth – 0.08%

“The UK aviation industry is still in something of a recovery mode post-pandemic, however there is light at the end of the tunnel,” said Anton Radchenko, CEO of AirAdvisor.

“This is reflected by the average cancellation rates at most major airports decreasing, which is promising to see.”

He revealed that several airports across the UK have cancellation rates that are more than double the national average.

“These airports and their airline partners simply must do better. And passengers deserve better,” he continued.

“Fortunately, British air passengers are protected by comprehensive legislation that entitles you to up to £520 in compensation if your flight to or from the UK, or with a UK or EU-based airline is cancelled with less than two weeks’ notice, depending on the circumstances that led to the cancellation.”

And for customers whose journeys have been affected by cancelled flights, he advised using a free compensation calculator to figure out what you are owed.
