Dad-of-five Peter Andre opens up about vasectomy fears as he reveals wife Emily is ‘done’ with having kids

PETER Andre has revealed he “freaked out” over having a vasectomy as he rules out having more children.

The dad-of-five is adamant both he and wife Emily, 35, are done with having kids, nine months after the birth of their youngest, Arabella.

Though he remains partially open to getting the snip in the future, he said the idea fills him with dread in a new interview with the Netmums podcast.

Admitting he was naive before reading up on it, Peter, 51, assumed the minor op changed the sound of a man’s voice.

He said: “I then went and started asking people who’ve had it done, and they were like, ‘It’s horrific. It’s this, it’s that’.”

Pressed on whether or not he’d now go ahead and get it done, he continued: “Probably not now. Look, I’m not gonna lie, I’ve completely bottled it. It’s freaked me out.

“Then again, if it means that she doesn’t have to do anything to prevent it, I will do it.

“But it’s going to take some guts to do and I need to man up. I need to actually just go, you know what? Get over it and do it. But I’m just struggling a bit at the moment with the thought.”

Peter and Emily got married in 2015 and have Amelia, nine, Theo, seven, and Arabella.

The Mysterious Girl singer is also dad to Junior, 19, and Princess, 17, from his previous marriage to Katie Price.

Speaking exclusively to The Sun at last year’s Pride of Britain Awards, Peter gushed that his family is complete.

“She has honestly made us complete, she really has,” he said.

Emily added: “It’s the first time I’ve really left her at home…”

Peter chimed in, “it’s taken a lot to get her out,” as Emily continued: “I had a bit of a wobble, but we’re fine!”

When asked how they’ve been coping, Emily added: “It’s a juggle – but we’ve got helping hands [points at Junior and Princess].”

WHAT TO EXPECT IN A VASECTOMY

GP Janine David answers some questions about the proceedure . . .

WHAT IS A VASECTOMY? The simple surgery, usually done at your GPs’ practice, involves removing a 1-2cm section of the tube that carries sperm and ejaculatory fluids from the testes to the “outside world”.

DOES IT HURT? The anaesthetic stings, but just for seconds.

We need to locate the tube (called vas deferens) and getting hold of it can be uncomfortable, but not for very long.

The whole procedure takes about 20 minutes.

IS IT EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY? No. You’ll be asked for a semen sample 16 weeks after surgery to make sure it’s clear of sperm.

Be sure to use extra protection until you get a clear result.

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO RECOVER? About two weeks, but you’ll feel much better after a few days.

The stitches take six weeks to dissolve and GPs recommend waiting seven days before having sex.

There may be some blood in your ejaculation – it’s normal.

WILL MY SEX LIFE BE AFFECTED? The op has no effect on testosterone or sex life.

People often find sex better, as there’s no pregnancy worry.

The failure rate is one in 2,000 or less.

WHAT ARE THE RISKS? The same as any surgery with local anaesthetic.

You may experience bruising, bleeding and swelling.

There is a small chance of infection or chronic pain.

And they completed a hat-trick of victories by stuffing helpless Leicester.

Doucoure got the party started with just 10.18 seconds on the clock.

He latched on to Jordan Pickford’s big punt upfield and fired in the fastest home goal in Premier League history.

Beto had just one league goal this season heading into Leicester’s visit.

He doubled that tally on six minutes when he got in behind.

And he trebled it just before half-time, latching on to James Garner’s through ball to slot in.

Iliman Ndiaye made it 4-0 as the clock hit 90 minutes – thanks to more shambolic defending from the Foxes.

Tickets cost £15, which includes a Chinese supper.

Promoting the opening, Cheryl said: “Hi everyone, now then, first and second of February you know where you need to be.

“The Dragon Lounge in Cleveleys, 120 Victoria Road West, it’s a new business, I’ll be hosting all weekend, it’s Chinese New Year.”

She added: “I’ll be hosting both events, it will be a singing, karaoke and quiz. Oh yeah, general knowledge quiz, fantastic.

Cheryl recently begged her fans to “keep asking” TV bosses to hire her.

One of her followers had suggested she could work on Coronation Street.

Paul Townend ‘privileged to have him’ after Galopin Des Champs wins THIRD Irish Gold Cup at Dublin Racing Festival

GALOPIN DES CHAMPS maintained his Leopardstown dominance after winning his THIRD Irish Gold Cup at the Dublin Racing Festival.

The Willie Mullins-trained powerhouse ran up a seventh win from seven races on the chase track with Paul Townend on board.

Speaking to RacingTV, the jockey said: “There is a lot of pressure going out on him. Thankfully he is so simple to ride.

“I have ridden a lot of times around Leopardstown. When I jumped the last ditch I could hear the crowd.

“You can often pass in front of them and you don’t hear them. I was in the zone and I couldn’t believe how much of a roar it must have been to make it that far down the ride.

“The reception he got here the last day was really good and you saw here today.

“The crowd that come racing in Ireland, they really do appreciate a good horse, no matter who trains it.

“And they appreciate a foreign horse coming as well once it is a good horse.”

It was his third consecutive Gold Cup, having previously won it in 2023 and 2024, thus becoming the first since Florida Pearl to do the three in a row.

Paul Townend beat out Grangeclare West (66/1) and Fact To File (100/30).

And Galopin Des Champs is now priced at 8/13 favourite to win a third Cheltenham Gold Cup next month.

Townend added: “He obviously has huge talent. His appetite for it is the one. He puts his head down and he gallops.

“It is rare that you can turn in and it is a privilege to turn in at Leopardstown and you look at the last fence and you ride at it like it is not here.

“You know when you land you are going to go to the line. If one goes by you, they go by you but they would have to be very good

“He loves it around here. He takes to it and we are just very privileged to have him I think.”

Bournemouth 0 Liverpool 2: Reds extend lead at top of Premier League to NINE through Salah double after VAR controversy

MOHAMED SALAH ensured Liverpool stretched their lead at the top of the Premier League to nine points after a 2-0 win at Bournemouth.

However, the Reds were helped by a controversial penalty decision that set them on their way to the win.

Cody Gakpo won a penalty in the 28th minute after appearing to be tripped up by Lewis Cook.

Referee Darren England awarded a spot-kick, which VAR confirmed, despite it appearing as though Gakpo had actually tripped up on his own legs.

But another angle seemed to show the offending incident with Cook clipping Gakpo’s rear leg in the area.

Bournemouth were on top for the majority of the game, but were wasteful and were unable to beat in-form Allison.

Salah then curled his second goal of the afternoon into the top corner late in the second half to confirm the three points and move Arne Slot’s side to an unbeaten run of 19 games.
