Incoming PGA Tour CEO Brian Rolapp has received an early vote of confidence from top players Rory McIlroy and Scottie Scheffler.
The news of the appointment came ahead of this week’s Travelers Championship at TPC River Highlands in Connecticut.
Brian Rolapp is set to take the reigns as PGA Tour CEO by the end of the yearAnd he’s been backed by the word”s number one and two pleyers – Scottie and Rory
Rolapp, who brings over 20 years of experience from the NFL where he served as chief media and business officer.
He will officially take over from current commissioner Jay Monahan in 2026.
Monahan, who has held the role for a decade, is expected to assist with a smooth transition.
The Grand Slam champion said: “He’s certainly said all the right things and he has an amazing background with two decades in the NFL.
“He’s helped them expand internationally and help them become the behemoth they have become.
“For him to bring that experience, I think it will be amazing and it’s great that Jay is there to help with the smooth transition.”
Rolapp addressed the PGA Tour membership earlier in the week before world number one Scheffler was left encouraged by the appointment.
The 2025 PGA champion said: “I think it’s exciting to have some new leadership. The first time I heard him speak was yesterday, so I really don’t know much about him.
“I liked what I heard yesterday. Our board and Jay have put a lot of research into finding his successor and to get someone from high up in the NFL is pretty cool.
“He has a lot of experience and some new thought processes he can bring to the tour. I think it’s exciting.”
Rolapp’s focus is expected to centre on strengthening the Tour’s commercial model and global reach at a time of unprecedented change within professional golf amid the ongoing LIV Golf divide.

InstagramEric opened up about his recent procedure with fans[/caption]
InstagramThe star was glowing after his ‘bbl’[/caption]
Today, Eric took to his Instagram to give fans an insight into how he is able to get his face TV ready.
The dad-of-one was in a local cosmetic clinic in Donegal, where he sat down in the doctor’s chair to begin his procedure.
Eric showed off to his fans a 3D print of his face that the doctor had on her iPad, which allowed Eric to see the full results of the procedure before he had even started it.
Once he was happy with the potential results, Eric leaned back into the chair – where the doctor began his ‘bbl’.
She explained that bbl stands for: “Broadband light.”
Eric continued: “It’s going to make me look youthful.”
His doctor added: “It [the procedure] is going to target some of the redness and we are also going to use the X to tighten up the pores.”
And Eric was quick to rebut, joking: “I don’t have that many pores.”
The doctor agreed and started on the presenter’s face by placing some goggles on his eyes to keep them safe.
Next she scanned Eric’s face with a red light and began the micro needling procedure the only invasive part of his procedure.
Before he knew it, the procedure was over and Eric was enjoying his face mask.
His face was now notably glowing and looked completely refreshed as he showed off the results just hours after getting it done.
Giving his fans a final update, he said: “That’s me done, my face is a little redder and it might swell over the next day or two. It might get a bit flakey, but then I’ll be glowing.”

TOMMY FREEMAN is ready to relish the roaming role handed to him by Andy Farrell.
Freeman will make his Lions debut against Argentina on Friday after being named on the right wing.
Andy Farrell’s Lions face Argentina on Friday night in Dublin before jetting off to AustraliaBritish and Irish Lions’ Tommy Freeman starts on the wing at Aviva on Friday
The Northampton Saints player has been rewarded for a season which saw him help his club reach the Champions Cup decider, bagging a hat-trick in the semi-final win over Leinster at Croke Park.
That was after he had become the first England player to score in every round of the Six Nations.
And Freeman believes the style of play Farrell wants from his combined side – with wingers getting involved in-field and playing heads-up rugby – will suit him down to the ground.
Freeman said: “Without giving away too much, hopefully we’re going to see a lot of tries and instinctive playing.
“We’re not going to be there to set stuff up and go through phases for the sake of going through phases.
“We want to score off the back of anything we can. The guys we’ve got in the backline, there are threats people have to offer and the ballplayers can put us in those spaces. It’s going to be a lot of fun and dangerous, I think.
“It’s rugby at the end of the day and it’s about finding space and seeing opportunity. If you see the opportunity, you call it and you get the ball there. We’ll be measured on that.
“We don’t want to be missing phases and getting there one phase too late. We want to be playing heads-up rugby.
“You’ve got the set-piece and some structure, but outside of that it’s about seeing space and doing what you can to put pressure on.”
The 24-year-old reckons the biggest challenge is learning the vocabulary, with different names for the same calls that he might already be used to for club and country.
And being asked to contribute in-field by Farrell is not much of an adaptation for Freeman.
He said: “He’s very clear, very precise with his messaging. He’s been awesome. He’s been a massive deciding factor in how quickly we’ve learned and how we want to play the game. He’s been brilliant and easy to work with.
”I think that’s the way I play anyway but I also think it’s the way a winger has to be these days.
“You don’t want wingers staying on the wing and going quiet for phases of games. You want them popping up to inject a bit of pace and power and create that extra number.
“If you’re standing on your wing and being a bit lazy, that’s where you miss some opportunities.”
Assistant coach Richard Wigglesworth admitted there would be some benefits to having nine England players in the starting XV
LION HEARTS
But he stressed: “This is a whole new calling system, it is the Lions way of playing so cohesion will take time in the Lions environment
“But you know Fin Smith and Tommy Freeman have a great connection in terms of finding each other and knowing where each other are but that is in Northampton and England, this is Lions.
“We want them to find a connection quickly in a Lions shirt.”
And Wigglesworth dismissed Australian coach Joe Schmidt’s description of Ireland’s Bundee Aki and Sione Tuipulotu as a ‘Southern Hemisphere centre partnership’.
Aki is from New Zealand and Tupulotu from Australia and are two of seven players in the squad who are playing for Ireland or Scotland through residency.
Wigglesworth said: “Everyone has earned the right to pull on the Lions jersey. They are, to a man, incredibly proud to be here,
“It is not your background or how you have got here, it is what sort of player are you and what sort of man you are, and we have got great men and great players.”
The game is sold out with remaining tickets – the cheapest of which was €148 – snapped up yesterday.
Quizzed about the cost, Wigglesworth said: ” I’ve got my hands full with that without getting involved in ticket prices
“All I know is that everyone you talk to, whether they’re friends, family or strangers on the street, is incredibly excited about the Lions playing here in Dublin.”

UNDER-FIRE BBC Breakfast boss Richard Frediani has taken an “extended period of leave” in the wake of bullying allegations.
The show’s Bafta-winning Editor, who stands previously accused of shaking a female colleague and aggressive behaviour, has stepped back following The Sun’s revelations about toxicity on the programme earlier this week.

BBCEmployees have been approached about sharing their experiences, according to people familiar with the process[/caption]
There have also been a series of top level crisis meetings held within the corporation on how best to contain the developing crisis on one of its staple formats.
In an email to internal staff, Director of Programming John McAndrew thanked colleagues for their “positivity” during this “stressful time” – and informed them of Frediani’s decision.
Last night a source said: “It’s been an incredibly challenging past few months for everyone involved with BBC Breakfast – from crew to on-screen talent.
“Fredi was already taking a break because obviously the allegations against him have been pretty damning, and he needed time to reflect.
“He’s devastated by some of the claims and has also had a lot of behind the scenes support from colleagues, many of whom think he’s a brilliant boss.
“BBC executives have ensured duty of care measures and he is still in touch with a few of the team.
“Right now, it’s imperative that the BBC gets its house in order and ensures everyone is happy.”
He needed time to reflect.
It is understood Frediani had been on holiday but mutually decided to take an extended break.
Earlier today, meanwhile, Deadline confirmed The Sun’s story concerning the internal review about the culture on the show.
The battling Corporation has drafted in an external lawyer from top firm PwC to help speak to staff.
Employees have been approached about sharing their experiences, according to people familiar with the process.
The fresh claims emerged as Beeb bosses urged any member of staff with concerns to raise them.
A source said: “The probe into Fredi’s bullying is the tip of the iceberg when it comes to BBC Breakfast.
“In reality, the smiles on the red sofa mask growing tension and an increasingly toxic culture, driven from the top down, with its unwitting presenters at the heart.
Series of scandals
EX-BBC News presenter Huw Edwards got a suspended jail term after admitting last July that he made indecent images of children. He had been suspended on full pay for five months. The Beeb said it should have acted faster when the scandal emerged in July
Graziano Di Prima was sacked last July after we revealed he kicked his Strictly dance partner Zara McDermott in 2023. It came after Giovanni Pernice was accused of bullying by Amanda Abbington, who requested footage of their rehearsals in early 2024. Complaints of verbal abuse against him were upheld, but physical aggression claims were not. He quit amid a probe.
Former footballer Jermaine Jenas was axed from Match Of The Day last August after sending inappropriate messages to female colleagues. He insisted “nothing physical ever happened”, but wife Ellie later divorced him.
Other controversial Strictly celebs include opera singer Wynne Evans, accused of an “inappropriate” sexual remark about Janette Manrara in January. Despite clearing his name in The Sun, the Beeb did not renew his Radio Wales contract. This month, the BBC suspended actor Jamie Borthwick over a slur against disabled people made on the Strictly set.
“Naga is incredibly approachable and friendly to everyone on set. Charlie is very professional and tries to disengage from any politics. But some stars, like Sally Nugent, are loved by Fredi, whereas others, like Naga and Charlie, are not.
“Frankly, he can be mildly terrifying if you’re on the wrong side of him.”
She is known for working backstage to support younger journalists, especially women, and is believed to be frustrated that others accept the “toxicity as the status quo”.
Meanwhile, it is claimed Charlie, 62, takes a more laidback approach and “finishes filming then leaves”.
The duo present the daytime show together from Thursday to Saturday, while Jon Kay and Sally Nugent cover the rest of the week.
A source added: “Naga finds the whole situation frustrating and is at the end of her tether, particularly with Fredi and his draconian ways.
“She is passionate about speaking up if she believes something is wrong, has spoken to people who are unhappy — and is always trying to help others behind the scenes.
“Everyone feels like unless you’re in Fredi’s circle of favourites, you’re likely to get a rough ride.”
In a recent interview, Naga insisted she and Charlie were “good friends”, amid reports they had fallen out.

A THREE-MONTH-OLD boy was fatally crushed when his dad suffered a heart attack while cuddling him in bed.
Little Muhammad Nur Daniel Nurul Effendy and dad Nurul Effendy Ibrahim, 35, were found dead at their family home in Malaysia.

The tragedy has shocked MalaysiaNewsflash
Dad Nurul was found unconscious by his wife, Azura, with their baby lying under his arm on Thursday.
At first, Azura thought there had been a gas leak in the family’s home in Melaka, in southern Malaysia, local media reports.
She told media: “I knew something was wrong even though there was no blood.
“My husband was unconscious and our baby, who was still breathing at that time, was pinned under his arm. However, our baby looked very weak and pale.”
The tot, who had turned blue from the lack of oxygen, was rushed to hospital but died while receiving treatment.
Relatives said that the night before, Nurul had complained of chest pains.
The couple had reportedly waited 15 years for Muhammad, their third child.
Cases of infants dying from asphyxiation while sleeping or cuddling with a parent are sadly not unique.
Unintentional suffocation is the leading cause of injury death among infants under the age of one in the US, according to the National Institutes of Health.
It is not recommended to co-sleep with babies, especially if they were born premature or with a low birth weight, as per guidance from the NHS.
Falling asleep with a baby on a sofa or chair is said to greatly increase the risk of sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS).
Jordan, 25, from Southport, was last seen at a bar in capital Kuala Lumpur but then vanished – sparking a frantic search from family and police.
Jordan had been travelling around south-east Asia while working remotely for an American software company.
Malaysian police confirmed on June 5 that a body was found at the base of a lift shaft, and had been identified as Jordan.
Kuala Lumpur police chief Rusdi Mohd Isa said the force had “received information that a man was found lying on his back in the lift [shaft] on the ground floor of a construction site”.
He added that the post-mortem examination revealed “the cause of death was a chest injury sustained from a fall from height”.
The death is not being treated as suspicious.
A FCDO spokesperson said at the time that the Foreign Office was “supporting the family of a British man who died in Malaysia”.

Jay even got her date to film her for Instagram, before they sat down and clinked glasses.
The former reality star then told fans that the date went “really, really well”.

“At the time I would have liked to have completed the experience with Luke but on reflection I’m grateful that I didn’t because it showed me that not every relationship is meant to last and that me and Luke weren’t right for each other.”
After leaving the show Jay and Luke went on holiday but she says things between them quickly changed when they returned to their respective hometowns.
Jay continued: “When we left the experiment we went on holiday, everything was good and we were really strong but then things changed when we came home.
“He went back to Essex and I came back to Accrington. I felt like he changed and he couldn’t be bothered to put in the effort.”

ALL parents want to create a magical birthday for their little ones, but the truth is costs can quickly add up, especially if you want a posh cake.
That’s why one mum decided to take matters into her own hands instead of forking out hundreds for a professionally made character cake.
Facebook/Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK groupThe mum showed off her epic creation on Facebook[/caption]
Facebook/Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK groupThe cake ended up looking so posh, and for a bargain price[/caption]
AlamyShe picked up the extras to go on the cake from Tesco[/caption]
The glorious cake looked like it could’ve cost a fortune, but thanks to a few savvy supermarket buys the entire thing came to just £25.
And amazingly, she didn’t even have to bake anything, so her DIY creation is perfect for a baking novice.
First, she snapped up the pink drip cake from Asda for just £14.
Although the trendy cake looked great on its own, the mum decided to go all out with her DIY cake design, so headed to Tesco to bag some more bargains.
To surround the main cake, she bought cupcakes for £4, as well as a cake base for £1.50.
To add to the base and main cake she snapped up loads of pink and blue sweets, which she piled high.
And the cherry on top was a Stitch cake topper, which she ordered from eBay for £5.
After a little time sorting everything out, the finished cake could’ve fooled anyone into thinking it took hours and cost a fortune.
So, it’s no surprise other Facebook users were amazed by the creation too.
One commented on the viral post: “We do this every year for our sons birthday! Buy a plain birthday cake and decorate it with whatever he’s into that year.”
“Clever clogs!!! It’s fabulous!!!” another wrote.
And a third chimed in: “Looks awesome, well done!”
Meanwhile, other parents revealed they’ve been giving the same money-saving hack a go and have made some stunning cakes in the process.
One mum showed off a cake she had decorated to fit a Barbie theme, complete with pink glitter, butterflies, and gold stars.
Another showed off a spitfire-themed cake she made for her son using a supermarket cake and some fondant.
And someone else revealed they used the hack for their wedding cake.
“My wedding cakes [from] M&S, all four cakes you can personalise on there website. £150 for all 4. The toppers cost £50 in total from eBay,” she said.
How much do experts advise spending on a child’s birthday?
A study by major toy retailer TK Maxx revealed that one in three parents admit to spending less on presents for their own children and their children’s friends compared to five years ago.
Average Spend: Parents spend an average of £175 on birthday gifts for their kids, while presents for their children’s friends can cost up to £95 a year, adding extra strain on household finances.
Gifts and Parties: Children receive around 12 presents per birthday, and parents take their kids to an average of four birthday parties annually.
Top Five Gifts Parents Buy for Children:
Clothes: 49%
Books: 46%
Technology: 39%
Traditional Board Games: 38%
Remote Controlled Toys: 26%
Dolls: 25%
How Much Should You Spend on a Child’s Birthday?
Experts generally suggest keeping birthday spending reasonable and within the family’s budget. A common guideline is to spend around £10 to £20 per year of the child’s age. For example:
5-year-old: £50 to £100
Remember, the focus should be on creating memorable experiences rather than adhering strictly to a spending rule.
Simple, thoughtful, and creative celebrations can often be just as enjoyable and meaningful for the child.
