BENFICA’s stormy Club World Cup clash with Auckland City has suffered a huge hold-up – as fans ran for cover from predicted lightning.

Organisers warned there could be a delay of more than an hour – with the Portuguese giants 1-0 up on the brink of half-time.

One warning predicted “excessive lightning” in the area of the Inter & Co Stadium in Orlando, Florida.

And supporters were spotted hiding in concourses amid heavy rain and thunderstorms.

‘Open their arms & iconic gates’ – Lord Henry Mount Charles family in touching Slane Castle move after gig icon’s death

THE family of Henry Mount Charles will open the gates of Slane Castle this weekend for fans to pay their respects.

The legendary Slane host died on Wednesday, aged 74, following a brave battle with cancer.

Henry’s son Alex revealed that a book of condolence would be available to sign for those who wished to pay tribute to the rock ‘n’ roll peer.

The castle will be open tomorrow and Sunday between 10am and 6pm.

Alex said: “With this profound sense of gratitude and in recognition of the shared affection for Lord Henry, the Mount Charles family would like to open their arms and the iconic gates of Slane Castle this weekend to people who would like to pay their respects and celebrate Henry’s life by signing a book of condolence.”

He added: “We have been truly touched by the strength of public sentiment and are deeply grateful for the countless expressions of sympathy and shared memories.

“Dad’s warmth, spirit, and dedication to Slane, its people, and its legacy forged friendships that extended incredibly far and wide.

“The memories created within the walls and on the grounds of Slane Castle over the decades hold a uniquely special place in so many hearts, reflecting Lord Henry’s own passion for heritage, culture, Slane Castle and its community.”

Pals have revealed that Lord Henry never stopped thinking about the next big concert at his beloved Slane Castle, even in his final days battling illness.

MCD co-founder Denis Desmond, who collaborated with the aristocrat on a string of massive concerts at Slane Castle, joined in the tributes.

The music supremo said: “Even while in hospital battling poor health during his later years, he stayed connected to what was happening in the live music business, always thinking of what was coming next and which emerging acts or established artists he’d most like to see at the castle.”

Hailing Henry as a “visionary with an enormous sense of fun and a tremendous work ethic”, Denis added: “The phrase ‘rock ‘n’ Roll Icon’ can sometimes be used too lightly but Henry Mount Charles truly was one who earned the title.

‘ENORMOUS IMPACT’

“Over more than 40 years, he put and kept Slane Castle on the map as an iconic global music venue.”

He continued: “He was a visionary with an enormous sense of fun and a tremendous work ethic. Onsite morning, noon and night, he was across so many details and always the last man standing when the lights went out and the show was over.

“Henry had an enormous impact on the acts who played at Slane. Long after the final note sounded, world-class performers would talk about him and the spectacular home he opened out to music lovers.

“Hundreds of thousands of fans from Ireland and abroad made lifelong memories at shows in Slane over the decades and so much of the credit for that is due to Henry and his hospitality. He wanted everyone to have a great time, stay safe and come again.

‘BRILLIANT MANNER’

“He had a brilliant manner and style – almost always getting his way but also always treating people with respect. His laugh was infectious and he had a sense of humour that was often at its best in darker moments when the laughs were harder to come by but more important than ever.”

Top promoter Desmond also highlighted the hurdles that Henry faced trying to hang on to his ancestral home on the banks of the Boyne.

Denis explained: “His wasn’t an easy life and there were huge setbacks, like the terrible fire in 1991, but he never let these grind him down and always worked towards a better tomorrow.

“To his loving family, especially his wife Iona and children Alexander, Henrietta, Wolfe and Tamara, as well as his extended family and wide circle of friends in Ireland and far beyond, we send our sympathies.

“Truly, we will not see his likes again and the world is a poorer place for his passing but also a better and brighter place for his life.

“Ireland has lost a real rock ‘n’ roll legend.”

Man Utd ‘keen on Europa League winner to replace Andre Onana as Monaco consider shock transfer move for under-fire star

MANCHESTER UNITED have identified Europa League-winning goalkeeper Marco Carnesecchi as a possible replacement for Andre Onana, reports suggest.

Goalkeeper is a position Red Devils chiefs want to address following an error-strewn season from No. 1 Onana.

Having signed the Cameroon international for £47million two summers ago, his high-profile mistakes have continued to cost Man Utd.

And Ruben Amorim is said to be willing to cash in on the goalkeeper to shore up the defence.

Onana, 29, has attracted interest from Ligue 1 side Monaco, according to Gianluca Di Marzio.

However, Man Utd have wasted no time lining up a replacement in the form of Italian goalkeeper Carnesecchi.

The 24-year-old has been the No.1 in Bergamo under Gian Piero Gasperini since his arrival at the club in the summer of 2023.

He has kept 28 clean sheets in 76 games and was part of the squad which won the Europa League in 2024 as Ademola Lookman scored a hat-trick against Bayer Leverkusen to secure the club’s first-ever European trophy.

However, he could now follow Gasperini in leaving the club after Man Utd made contact with his representatives about a switch to England.

The Old Trafford outfit have not made contact with Atalanta yet, and the Serie A side will need a substantial offer to sell.

Meg ‘is copying celebs AGAIN & they won’t be happy – she’ll get in trouble if she doesn’t do something original’

MEGHAN Markle has been accused of copying celebrities again with her new wine.

The Duchess of Sussex, 43, has added Rosé wine to her range of As ever products – which is her first alcoholic beverage.

Hugo Vickers is a royal expert, known for his books on the Windsors and their ancestors.

The expert kicked out against Meghan’s new drink which is part of her brand As Ever, which includes her jam range.

However, Hugo issued an urgent warning to the Duchess, advising her to make sure that her rosé is different enough to the slew of celebrity alcohol brands which have been released in recent years.

Hugo said: “And that’s where you’ve got to be jolly careful.

“Because if you start just sort of taking other people’s products and putting your name on it – I’m not saying that she’s absolutely exactly done that – if you do something even by accident, then you’re going to get into trouble.

“Because people who are less successful, who are selling them or the same thing and seeing them going out under her name, they won’t like that definitely.”

He added: “If you like rosé wine, you’ll probably find that you’ve got a particular one that you like, and I must admit I wouldn’t be tempted to go for hers.

“I don’t know what hers is, how hers is going to be so different from anybody else’s.

“It’s probably going to be more expensive because it has a sort of brand on it.”

He also claimed that much of her popularity can be attributed to her famous husband.

Hugo said: “Prince Harry gives it a kind of a soap opera element which would otherwise be lacking, because, as you say, there are numerous other celebrities launching products, and you know you see them here and there, and you may be interested in them.

“You may like the star who’s put their name to it, and you might buy it for that reason.”

The expert added that Meghan’s new product won’t “concern” the Prince greatly.

He said: “I don’t think it’s going to concern him very much.

“I think he’s probably much more interested in getting to Ascot and seeing whether one of his horses does well.”

Meghan’s new wine follows her jam brand, which went viral on social media.

She also went viral for her remark that every “failure” is actually a “success”.

However, Hugo slammed the comment – saying: “She must have been doing an awful lot of winning recently, because quite a lot of the things that she’s done have not been wildly successful.”

He added: “I think you do better actually by winning than failing.”

Hugo also had a great tip for readers who are in the market for a new rosé.

He said: “Buy the palest kind of rosés that you can find, and those do tend to be rather more expensive, and don’t buy the ones that look like syrup, because they’re horrible.

“But there is a huge different range of rosés, so I don’t entirely blame her for having a go at that one especially.

“Listen, we’re talking on probably one of the hottest days in England, and a glass of ice cold rosé wouldn’t go amiss.”

The Sun has approached Meghan and Harry’s representatives for comment.

The 2023 pink booze from Napa Valley, California, will be sold via her As ever website from July 1.

It has been announced alongside two new spreads now available including a Limited-Edition Orange Blossom Honey for $28 (£20).

And she has also restocked six of the original products including $15 flower sprinkles.

But there is no new raspberry spread available after Meg admitted she may never restock the infamous jam spread.

‘COPYCAT’ BEHAVIOUR

It comes after Pamela Anderson fans accused Meghan of “copying” her Cooking With Love show with her own Netflix cookery programme With Love Meghan – released last month.

And in February, the mayoress of Porres in Majorca complained the logo for the Duchess’ lifestyle brand, As Ever, resembled her town’s historic coat of arms.

The town’s mayor, Francisca Mora Veny, was considering taking legal action against the royal and has asked Meghan to remove the logo.

Ms Mora told The Sun: “We don’t want our coat of arms to be perverted because it belongs exclusively to Porreres.

“The only difference with their logo and our coat of arms is that theirs shows two hummingbirds and in ours are either swallows or pigeons — historians cannot agree.

“We will ask Meghan to remove the logo from their website.”

Even before Meghan became a member of the British Royal Family, she appeared to be looking to others for inspiration.

In her speech for International Women’s Day at the UN in 2015, she was accused of lifting whole chunks from one delivered by former First Lady of the United States Eleanor Roosevelt.

The Sun previously compiled a list of seven times, in fact, that Meghan has been accused of being a “copycat“.

Body of man discovered at popular Irish beach as police seal off scene and urge public to ‘avoid the area’

A POPULAR beach has been cordoned off in Derry after the body of a man was discovered earlier this afternoon.

It is understood the man got into difficulty swimming in the sea at the beach during the scorching weather.

The PSNI, Northern Ireland Ambulance Service, and the air ambulance attended the scene of the incident today.

The assistance of the RNLI was also requested as the PSNI asked the public to avoid the scene

A PSNI spokesperson said: “Police are currently in attendance after a body was found on the beach in Castlerock today, Friday 20 June.

“Cordons are in place and the public is asked to avoid the area at this time.”

The Northern Ireland Ambulance Service confirmed the alarm was raised via an emergency call at 3.35pm today.

They said: “The Northern Ireland Ambulance Service received a 999 call at 14:35 on Friday 20 June following reports of an incident at Castlerock Beach.

“NIAS despatched a Rapid Response Paramedic, 2 Emergency Crews, 1 HART Crew and an Ambulance Officer to the scene.

“Ambulance Control also tasked the Charity Air Ambulance, with HEMS Team on board, to attend.

“Following assessment and initial treatment, no patients were taken from the scene.”

It comes as tributes continue to pour in for a teenager who drowned in a separate incident in Carlow earlier this week.

Peter Byrne tragically died in a swimming incident at Cloghristick, Milford, Co Carlow at around 6.30pm on Tuesday evening.

The young player for New Oak FC passed away after getting into difficulty in the water at Cloghristick, Milford, Co Carlow at around 6.30pm on Tuesday evening.

The teen, who had just finished Transition Year in the local CBS secondary school, and his pals were at a local gym earlier in the evening and then went swimming.

New Oak FC took to social media to pay a heartfelt tribute to the young player, describing him as a “pocket rocket in the team” over the last number of years.

‘LIFE AND SOUL OF THE DRESSING ROOM’

They wrote on Facebook: “It is with a very heavy and broken heart that we share the devastating news of the passing of our much beloved youths player Peter Byrne who tragically passed away this week.

“Peter was a pocket rocket in the team over the last number of years.

“Small in stature but big in personality. He was a huge character with a touch of Roy Keane about him, not afraid of anything or anyone.”

They continued: “Peter was the life and soul of the dressing room and training and will be sadly missed by his coaches Ernie, Danny and all his teammates who have not only lost a fellow player but a friend.”

Love Island star’s girlfriend accidentally reveals they had their first date BEFORE he split with All Stars ex

The 28-year-old returned for All Stars last year and placed runner-up alongside Jess Gale.

Although Callum entered the All Stars villa on Day 1, Jess arrived on Day 22.

Following their split after the final, Callum confirmed his new romance with stunning model Myna Amor.

Posting on her Instagram story, Myna has seemingly revealed she and Callum had their first date before he’d split from Jess.

A fan had asked her: “How long has it been since you and Callum have dated?”

Myna replied, sharing snaps of the pair to her followers: “We met last year in March.

“I find it crazy that these photos were taken on our first date.”

However, Callum and Jess themselves parted ways in late March 2024 – having reached the All Stars final that February.

The Sun has approached Callum’s reps for comment.

Last July, Myna broke her silence on her and Callum’s relationship while they attended the Magnum Pleasure Pass party in London

She exclusively revealed: “It’s been really hard to keep their relationship under wraps for such a long time – it’s been just over 5 months.

“It’s been so crazy seeing everyone online try and guess who Callum is in a relationship with, knowing it’s been me the whole time.”

Speaking exclusively to The Sun at the time of their break-up, Jess said she was left hurt by Callum after finding out something prior to their split.

She said the incident happened around the time of Molly Smith’s party to celebrate a lucrative new clothing deal.

Jess told The Sun: “It didn’t fizzle out, things happened and there was this thing at Molly [Smith’s] clothing event.
