My younger wife wants to go clubbing and have sex every night but I’m no longer up for that… is our marriage doomed?

DEAR DEIDRE: MY wife wants to go out clubbing with her pals, while I just want to stay in and cosy up on the sofa watching TV.

It’s driving a wedge between us, and I’m beginning to realise that our 12-year age gap is a bigger problem than I initially anticipated.

She’s 28 and I’m 40. We met at a party five years ago.

At first, I didn’t think our age difference was an issue. I didn’t look substantially older than her, and we had lots to talk about.

She liked the fact I was more mature than the men her age, and that I was stable, solvent and ready for a commitment.

But, lately, a gulf has been growing between us. She has more energy than me after work, and doesn’t want to stay in. Her friends are mostly single and living a party lifestyle.

Most of my peers have young children and lots of responsibility. I’ve started feeling I want to have kids before I get too old — but I know she’s not nearly ready for that.

She also wants sex every night, sometimes several times a night, but I’m no longer up for that — or always capable of it.

Things came to a head last weekend when we had a big row over the fact she wanted to go to a new club. I wanted to stay in with a bottle of wine and a takeaway.

She told me I was turning into an old bore. I told her she was behaving like a teenager.

She ended up going out without me, then rolling in drunk at 5am. Now, we’re not really talking.

I love her to bits, but I’m starting to wonder if our marriage is doomed to fail.

I've spent €8k on gorgeous escort & dreading day I won't be able to afford her

DEAR DEIDRE

Marrying my long-term partner hasn’t erased pain of his affair…I want to end it

DEIDRE SAYS: All couples go through difficult periods, when they don’t see eye to eye, even when age isn’t a factor.

If you love each other, you can overcome this – but you need to talk about it.

Perhaps, you need to accept you have some different interests now, and compromise.

That means, letting her go clubbing occasionally, and not getting annoyed. And she needs to cuddle up on the sofa with you some evenings, without moaning it’s boring.

And it’s actually healthy for couples to have their own friends and interests.

Wanting children when she’s not ready is a bit trickier to solve. But avoiding the subject won’t bring a resolution either.

My support pack, Looking After Your Relationship, may be helpful. You could also think about having couples counselling, so you can talk in a safe space.

THANK YOU FOR… HELPING ME OVER MY ESCORT SHAME

DEAR DEIDRE: WHEN loneliness drove me into the arms of an escort, I realised I needed help to change my life.

At 30, I’d never had a girlfriend.

I was stuck in a dead-end job, still living with my mum and couldn’t afford to move out.

All I wanted was a partner to share things with, but I felt I had nothing to offer them. I couldn’t even date because how could I bring a girl home to my mum’s house?

One night, I felt so lonely that I ended up paying a woman for sex.

It was so nice to have female attention, to kiss and to cuddle.

But afterwards, I felt even more depressed because I knew she’d only been nice to me for money. You were so understanding and didn’t judge me for living at home or never having had a girlfriend.

You suggested that I talk to an organisation called CALM — The Campaign Against Living Miserably (thecalmzone.net, 0800 585858) and sent me your support packs on Feeling Lonely and Finding The Love Of Your Life.

I took your advice and started seeing a counsellor. I’ve since stopped seeing escorts and joined a dating app.

I’ve also started going out with some work friends, so I feel less lonely. I feel so much more optimistic.

Thank you, Deidre.

DEIDRE SAYS: It’s so easy to get into a rut when you feel lonely and loveless.

Well done on making such positive changes, which will make your life much fuller and happier.

TEENAGE TROUBLES

DEAR DEIDRE: WHENEVER my new boyfriend is busy or doesn’t message me straight back, it sets off my anxiety.

Our first date was magical, but since then he seems to have cooled off.

I’m 19 and he’s 20. We’ve been dating three months.

I asked him why he’s not as keen as at first, and he says he likes me but isn’t sure he’s ready for a serious commitment.

The more insecure I feel, the more I message him. I’m worried my behaviour is pushing him away.

DEIDRE SAYS: New relationships are tricky, as you’re getting to know each other and your feelings don’t always develop at the same rate. If he doesn’t message straight back, it doesn’t mean he doesn’t like you.

Try to distract yourself while you wait. My pack, Living With Anxiety, should help with this.

I’M LEFT SCARED IN OWN HOME BY ABUSIVE LODGER

DEAR DEIDRE: I GOT a lodger to help pay my mortgage, but he’s often nasty to me – and he’s even been violent.

Sometimes, I feel scared to be in my own home.

I’m a 40-year-old man. I’ve had some health problems, which meant I had to leave my job.

As a result, I found it really hard to pay my mortgage and bills.

Someone suggested I take in a lodger, as I have spare bedrooms.

I advertised online and quickly found someone – a guy in his late 20s.

He had a decent job, looked presentable and was charming.

But over the past few months, he’s started to show his true colours. He has an anger problem, and he drinks.

When he gets drunk, he screams obscenities at me and he throws things. He has also violently shoved me.

My stress levels are so high that I can’t sleep, and I find myself hiding in my bedroom, even though it’s my house.

What should I do?

DEIDRE SAYS: Nobody should be made to feel scared to be in their own home. If you ever feel in danger, please call 999.

It’s important that you get support to deal with this, so people know what’s going on and can help you.

Please make contact with Mankind (mankind.org.uk, 0808 800 1170) which helps men suffering domestic abuse.

Also get in touch with the Citizens Advice (citizensadvice.org.uk) which has information on its website about how to get a lodger out of your house legally.

If possible, please ask a friend or relative to come over so that you’re not alone with him.

Also try talking to him very calmly, but when he’s sober. My support pack, Standing Up For Yourself, should help you have this conversation.

THIRD WHEELING IN MY RELATIONSHIP

DEAR DEIDRE: EVEN though I’ve been with my partner for five years, his ex makes me feel like a third wheel in my own relationship.

They have a son. She’s at every family wedding and birthday, and she turns up at our house uninvited!

I’m 38 and my partner is 42. We have a daughter.

While I’m glad they’re on good terms, for his son’s sake, it feels like they’re too close for comfort. I’ll admit I sometimes feel jealous.

The rest of his family are friends with her and I often get the impression they wish he’d get back with her. They make me feel second best.

It’s got to the point where I’ve had enough. I’ve told my partner I don’t want his ex at family events. He says it doesn’t bother him whether she comes or not, but his parents want her there.

I think he’s worried she’ll stop him seeing their son if he stands up to her. I love him but it’s time he put me first. Am I unreasonable?

DEIDRE SAYS: It’s not unreasonable of you to want to feel like you and your daughter are the most important people in your partner’s life.

But his son is also important, and he doesn’t want to antagonise his ex.

Make it clear to him how much this is upsetting you. It may be that he needs to show you more love and attention so you feel more secure around her.

You could try setting some boundaries. Ask him to tell her she can’t turn up to your house without warning.

You could ask if his parents could only invite her to some things, too.

For more advice, contact Family Lives (familylives.org.uk).

Wynne Evans slams BBC again over ‘double standards’ after Naga Munchetty is hauled in over sex jibe

WYNNE Evans has lashed out at the BBC again over its “double standards”.

The axed radio star commented on The Sun revealing BBC Breakfast presenter Naga Munchetty was hauled in over a sex jibe at Radio 5 Live.

Wynne shared today’s front page of the newspaper detailing the programme’s toxicity row, amid claims Naga was reprimanded by bosses over two incidents in three years — including allegations she bullied a junior staffer.

Posting The Sun front page in a now-deleted post, Wynne said: “I really wish Naga well and I hope she doesn’t get hounded.

“But come on @bbc @bbccymruwales what double standards.

“Tim Davie [Director-general of the BBC] promised to protect people on Strictly from being hounded by the press, but he won’t even meet with me.”

Wynne recently sat down with The Sun’s Clemmie Moodie to reveal his side of the story after losing his job following three allegations levelled against him.

The first, dubbed “gropegate”, came when he moved his hand over pro partner Katya Jones’ waist in the Clauditorium.

The other was when The Sun on Sunday revealed he had sent a sex toy to Jamie, which the EastEnders star was caught on camera laughing about.

The third was from a video of him saying “spit-roast” at a Strictly photocall which, it was claimed, was in relation to married pro Janette Manrara

He accused the BBC of abandoning him in the wake of a series of controversies that erupted during and after his time on Strictly Come Dancing.

The corporation said he was offered a dedicated contact at the BBC and was offered “continued” mental health support since his contract concluded.

Director General Tim Davie issued an unprecedented apology, and vowed to clean the show up, after a formal complaint from actress Amanda Abbington into Giovanni Pernice’s behaviour.

A raft of ex-contestants then came forward with their own horror stories. Another dancer, Graziano Di Prima was then fired after a video emerged of him kicking his partner Zara McDermott.

Naga is the first female presenter to be caught up in the series of scandals which have gripped the Beeb.

She was reprimanded by a senior producer over the sex jibe, but no formal action was taken.

As the BBC is now facing questions of double standards, an insider said: “If a male presenter made a sexual comment like that or falsely accused someone of theft, he’d be out the door. But with Naga, it gets brushed off.”

A BBC spokesperson said: “While we do not comment on individual cases, we take all complaints about conduct at work extremely seriously.”

Toni seemingly accuses Emily of being nosey, with the two women going head to head.

“There’s a storm brewing between Emily and Toni,” the Love Island Instagram page penned alongside the teaser clip.

They explained further: “Harry pulls Shakira and says he wants to start spending more time with her, plus Emily catches a scent of tension after Toni calls her nosey.”

In the clip, Toni can be seen chatting to Meg saying: “I can’t listen to her. ‘Little Miss Sunshine’ all the time.”

It then cut to Toni doing her makeup with Emily in the same room.

Emily asked Toni how she was and she told her that she was in a “bad mood”.

Speaking to Meg and some of the other girls, Emily said she wanted to have chat with Toni.

BOMBSHELL RIVALS

Meg then warned her about what Toni had said earlier.

Toni then said “Emily’s just f**king nosey,” in a clip that didn’t show who she was saying it to.

Reacting to the clip, one person said: “Emily is sweet but I agree with toni it can be too much sweetness sometimes.”

“Toni has not been wrong yet……TEAM TONE,” said another.

A third agreed: “Toni is so right about emily bc she joined that mean girl trio of the megans and helena so quickly to pick on yasmin.”

“Emily latched on mean girls just be part of it. Go. Toni,” added a fourth.

But some other fans disagreed.

“Pure jealousy from Toni, no bad vibes from Emily, one of the kindest, most genuine girls around,” declared a third.

TONI’S NIP SLIP

This comes after Toni suffered a rather awkward wardrobe blunder.

Showing off to her fellow Islanders during Thursday night’s episode, the American beauty, 24, did a handstand into a cartwheel as her boob fell out of her bikini.

Toni did the flexible act while donning a skimpy bathing suit, which would later have consequences.

As she did the move, her boob seemingly fell out of her swimsuit.

The wardrobe blunder left her co-stars in hysterics, with one of the hunks begging her to cover up quickly.

Dejon was shouting: “Tone, the boob is out,” repeatedly, as she failed to pay attention.

‘There might be some issues’ – Championship club could be forced to leave beloved 27,111-seater stadium for third time

CHARLTON ATHLETIC managing director Jim Rodwell has not ruled out the club leaving The Valley.

The Addicks are back in the Championship for the first time since 2020 next season.

The club remain uncertain on the future of their home at The Valley[/caption]

Nathan Jones masterminded a charge up the League One table after Christmas, eventually beating Leyton Orient in the playoff final.

But Charlton continue to be dogged by questions over the future of their South London ground.

The Valley is under the control of the club’s former owner Roland Duchatelet.

He sold the club six years ago but retained ownership of the 27,111-seat stadium and the club’s training ground.

A 15-year lease was signed by the club in 2021, with 11 years remaining before it expires.

The EFL require clubs to have at least ten years left on a stadium lease.

Charlton director Rodwell admits talks are ongoing with Duchatelet over an extension.

But he did not rule out the possibility that the club could eventually have to leave the site – home to the club for most of their 106-year existence.

BEST ONLINE CASINOS – TOP SITES IN THE UK

He told talkSPORT: “Yes, Mr Duchatelet, or his company, do still own the stadium and training ground.

“We’ve made no secret of the fact we would like to buy the stadium or enter into a longer term lease on the right terms.

“Those conversations are ongoing. We have a considerable period of time left. I know fans like certainty and so do businessmen.

“It’s always a possibility [we will have to move]. I think the desire would be to stay at The Valley.

“It’s a brilliant ground and great atmosphere. It’s fit for purpose.”

He added: “Our [lease] is getting down to [ten years], so there might be some issues there.”

Charlton left The Valley between 1923 and 1924 for nearby Catford.

They played at the now-demolished Mount Stadium, before a proposed merger with Catford Southend FC fell through.

Charlton left the Valley again in 1985 after the ground fell into disrepair and the club’s debts spiralled.

They ground-shared with Crystal Palace before a triumphant return to a completely renovated stadium in December 1992.

Rodwell continued: “What is The Valley actually worth? It’s worth a lot to Charlton but probably not a lot to a developer.

“What else could you stick on there?

“I’m always a great believer that commercial reality would hit home.

“There’s always a deal to be done there. Talks are ongoing. They have been conducted in the right spirit.”

Watch heartwarming moment Jesy Nelson’s partner Zion dances with tiny daughter after coming home with their baby twins

JESY Nelson’s partner Zion Foster danced with their newborn tiny daughter in a heartwarming moment.

Former Little Mix star Jesy, 34, welcomed twin girls with boyfriend Zion following a high-risk pregnancy.

The girls were born amid a high-risk pregnancy[/caption]

The newborns are named Ocean Jade Nelson-Foster and Story Monroe Nelson-Foster, respectively.

Taking to Instagram, Jesy shared a poignant video of Zion dancing with one of the girls.

With music playing in the background, Zion wiggled the baby’s hands and feet while singing to her.

He also addressed the other twin, saying: “You wanna do some dancing too?”

Last week, Jesy confirmed the baby girls were finally home – after a long hospital stint.

She penned on Instagram: “My babies made it home for my birthday.”

One fan responded: “I knew they would make it home to be with you, precious miracle girls they did it for you.

“They love you so much and wanted to be with mummy on her special day. Happy birthday angel!”

While another shared: “So happy you guys are all home together.”

During her pregnancy, Jesy was diagnosed with twin-to-twin transfusion syndrome (TTTS).

TTTS is a rare but serious condition in which blood flows unevenly between identical twins sharing a placenta – putting both babies at risk.

The diagnosis took Jesy and Zion by surprise and they revealed they had no idea what TTTS was before the diagnosis.

Jesy has already had a successful operation, though didn’t specify the type of procedure, and has been keeping herself busy with a self-care and beauty regime.

Meanwhile Zion ran the London marathon with less than five weeks training, in order to raise money for the charity Twins Trust in honour of their little ones.

What are the different types of twins?

TWINS are when two children are produced in the same pregnancy.

They can be identical or different, and two boys, two girls, or a girl and a boy.

Twins are quite rare, but are usually born completely healthy

What are the different types of twins?

Monozygotic – identical twins (‘one cell’ twins)

Dizygotic – also known as ‘fraternal’, non identical twins. Babies are no more alike than siblings born at separate times, and they can be the same or different sexes

Conjoined twins – identical twins that are joined together. They are extremely rare, and it’s estimated they range from one in 49,000 to 189,000 births, although around half are stillborn, and one third die within 24 hours.

Can identical twins be two different sexes?
Identical twins are always of the same sex because they form from the same fertilised egg that contains either female or male chromosomes.

The single egg is divided into two separate embryos, and they occur in about three in every 1000 deliveries worldwide.

Therefore, boy/girl twins are always fraternal (or dizygotic), as their chromosomes are either XY (male) or XX (female).

What are Di Di twins?
Di Di stands for Dichronic Diamniotic, and they are the common type of twins.

They have their own amniotic sacs and placenta, so are just sharing the womb of the mother, and are therefore not identical.

There are few complications with Di Di twins, so have a good chance of being born completely healthy without intervention from your doctor.

Di di twins are more likely to be non-identical than identical.

As he completed the 26.2mile mission, Jesy watched from her room and declared in a sweet post: “I honestly didn’t think I could love you any more than I already do @zionfoster but you have made me and our babies the proudest!!!!

“You had under 4 weeks to train for the London Marathon and you have worked your absolute bum off to be able to cross that finish line today whilst raising money for an amazing cause @twinstrust and for our babies.”

She added: “Words will never be enough to let you know how proud I am of you.

“The most amazing human and daddy — we love you baby. You smashed the London Marathon!!!!”
