Truth behind mysterious ‘lie’ that has haunted Meghan Markle for 8 years after telling ‘swipe’ on her podcast show

THE truth behind a mysterious “lie” that has haunted Meghan Markle for years has been revealed, experts claim.

The Duchess of Sussex, 43, opened up on a podcast this week with entrepreneur and CEO Emma Grede.

Experts have been speculating over what the “lie” is[/caption]

She sat down to speak with the founding partner of Kardashian brand Skims, on her show Aspire.

The mum-of-two was asked by her host: “If you could rewrite your public narrative from scratch, is there anything you would do differently?”

Meghan replied: “Yes. I would ask people to tell the truth.”

Grede came back: “You’re very measured about it, I would just get so angry if I felt like everyone was lying about me all the time.”

“Peaks and valleys,” said the Duchess.

“Of course, I’ve gone through those chapters and you do a lot of work, you do a lot of self work and go, ‘What’s the why?’ It’s happening for a reason.”

The mum-of-two also said her “dear friend” Serena Williams told her “a lie can’t live for ever”.

“Eight years is a long time, but not for ever,” she added.

Experts have been speculating over what the “lie” is, and suggested Meghan was referring to the Royal Family when she said “people”.

They highlighted Meghan and Harry’s 2021 Oprah interview, during which the Duchess said: “I don’t know how they could expect that, after all of this time, we would still just be silent if there is an active role that The Firm is playing in perpetuating falsehoods about us.”

She added: “It was only once we were married and everything started to really worsen that I came to understand that, not only was I not being protected, but that they were willing to lie to protect other members of the family.

“They were not willing to tell the truth to protect myself and my husband.”

Prince Harry and Meghan met on a blind date in July 2016, before going official later in the year.

The Sun published exclusive first pictures of the couple in December as they were spotted hand-in-hand, while out on a date in London.

The in 2017, Meghan was on the cover of Vanity Fair for their October 2017 issue and talked publicly about their relationship for the first time.

It was later announced that the pair were engaged to be married in spring 2018.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle wed at St. George’s Chapel in Windsor in front of their family, friends and the world on May 19.

They welcomed Prince Archie in June 2019 and stepped down as senior working royals in 2020, quitting the UK.

The couple have since been embroiled in a bitter feud with the Firm.

Harry, alongside his wife, has continued to drag his family name through the mud, from their 2021 Orpah interview to his 2023 memoir Spare.

And, the latest blow to their fractured relationship came when the Duke of Sussex dropped some extraordinary bombshells in a BBC interview last month.

He filmed a rare sit-down chat after losing his appeal against the decision to remove his taxpayer-funded security.

Royal author and broadcaster Hugo Vickers and news commentator Samara Gill also spoke to The Sun’s royal editor Matt Wilkinson this week about Meghan’s podcast comments.

On Royal Exclusive, Matt noted how he was stunned at Meghan’s latest podcast interview where she asked people to “tell the truth about her”.

Samara said: “The fact is she is a constant liar and her whole brand is built on a spin of lies.”

“I don’t trust a word that woman says. I think it is very, very low for her to insinuate that we should listen to her truth or that the royal family should tell the truth.

“The lack of authenticity in that interview is palpable.”

Samara added that perhaps the “revolving door of staff” the Sussexes have employed may shed more light on “truth”.

Countless staff members have joined a long list of people who over the years no longer wish to associate with the mum-of-two.

Samara also referenced bullying allegations levelled at her from staff during her time at Kensington Palace.

The royal expert added: “I don’t want to listen to this woman about truth.

“The fact of the matter is that she is a constant liar.”

Hugo agreed with Samara on the issue and questioned how accurate Meghan’s accusatory comments actually were.

He said: “I think Samara and I, as well as others, do tell the truth about her and I don’t think she likes it very much.”

The royal expert added: “No one would actually listen to Meghan Markle if it wasn’t for the fact she married Prince Harry.

“It’s because she’s married to Harry it gives the soap opera quality that seems to appeal to everyone.

“Otherwise would not really care about her, a lot of other people are doing stuff similar to her on social media anyway.”

This comes as Meghan has now has added Rosé wine to her range of As ever products – which is her first alcoholic beverage.

The 2023 pink booze from Napa Valley, California, will be sold via her As ever website from July 1.

It has been announced alongside two new spreads now available including a Limited-Edition Orange Blossom Honey for $28 (£20).

And she has also restocked six of the original products including $15 flower sprinkles.

But there is no new raspberry spread available after Meg admitted she may never restock the infamous jam spread.

Hypocrite Meghan CAUGHT OUT playing major power game – she knows exactly what she’s doing

By Leanne Hall, Fabulous Digital Writer

ROYAL experts have said Meghan Markle has been caught out playing a power game after she was caught calling herself ‘Her Royal Highness’.

Meghan was caught using the royal title in a recent podcast interview, which showed an image of a gift basket the Duchess sent to Kern Lima a year ago.

The present was filled with ice cream and jam and came with a note on monogrammed paper, signed: “With the compliments of HRH the Duchess of Sussex.”

Both Meghan and Harry agreed not to use their HRH title at the Sandringham Agreement five years ago amid fears they would use their royal titles to make money after leaving the working royal family.

Sources have said that while Meghan and Harry do still have their titles, they agreed not to use them for “commercial purposes”.

The source said the note was a “personal gift” but the couple don’t publicly use HRH.

However, The Sun’s Royal Editor Matt Wilkinson has said she was ‘caught out’ by the inclusion of the picture.

He said: “She’s kind of almost been caught out because I have a theory on this that maybe she hadn’t seen the edit or she wasn’t aware this picture was going to be shown or maybe her staff didn’t realise the gravity or we’d end up talking about it lots.

“Is there a danger that it could be, and we don’t know, but I’m just guessing, that if she’s sending cards to friends, private gifts with HRH, Duchess of Sussex, there are also emails or contacts that we don’t see publicly, she could be speaking to Netflix bosses, Spotify bosses using this title.”

Public Relations Consultant Mark Borkowski also agreed the image caught Meghan out for using the title for leverage.

He said: “It’s clearly social capital. I mean, I think that I’m sure her PA uses it to ensure that she gets that top table at a restaurant.”

He went on to add: “Of course it adds weight and she knows it adds weight. And it gives that sort of subliminal aura that she still has links with the British Royal Family, which is a very, very, very powerful brand globally, particularly in America.

“And the fact is, if you are disconnected from that, of course, you lose your social capital, you lose your weight in terms of sort of some of these deals that she’s trying to do.

“I’m sure she is using that, when it’s important, when she has to land something to remind the people the power that she possibly has.

“This is a power game. And no more than in America where that status is so important because without that status, she’s just another sort of B-lister in a continent absolutely populated with celebrities.”

WiFi alert issued to all UK homes to check routers NOW over ‘mass blackout’ risk

TEMPERATURES are soaring across the UK this weekend with Brits enjoying the sunshine.

Although hot weather is great for BBQs and tanning, your internet connection might suffer.

Hot weather could slow down internet connectivity by 25 per cent

UK homes could experience connectivity issues with 25 per cent slower WI-FI.

According to Broadband Genie, high temperatures could overheat your router with upload speeds dropping by 27 per cent.

These black boxes, just like most devices, don’t like being too hot and could completely shut down.

In order to avoid a total blackout, it is advised to keep your router away from the direct sunlight.

The Broadband Genie team told Mirror: “Broadband companies design and test their equipment to operate in and around temperatures up to 40°C.

“If users can keep their broadband router below this, we’ll avoid a wave of mass broadband blackouts.

“Customers should check their router isn’t placed in an unsuitable spot, such as next to any sunny south-facing window or a sweltering loft space.

“A couple of minutes taken here will save your broadband grinding to a halt, avoiding any broadband-related frustrations.”

But don’t tuck away your router inside a cabinet either as that could block the signal.

It is recommended to place your black box at least 30cm off the floor on a flat, hard surface.

Broadband Genie also warns pet owners to keep their fur babies away from the router.

Your fluffy friend’s fur could congest the air ducts which will prevent ventilation.

If your router is too old and is struggling to keep cool even with all precautions taken, you might want to consider an upgrade.

Experts say households should replace their router once every five years, at the very least.

The newer models run cooler and aren’t as perceptive to the temperature, and they could cost you only £50.

If all else fails and the temperatures reach 40+ degrees, it is best to disconnect from the internet and bask in the Sun while giving your devices a break.

You might enjoy chatting to family and friends over BBQ or reading a book on a patio or in the park in the meantime.

Every baby in England will get new health test under £650million NHS plan

EVERY newborn baby in England will receive a fresh health test following a hefty £650million investment.

The scheme will see babies’ DNA mapped in order to assess their risk of contracting hundreds of diseases.

Newborn babies in England will receive a fresh health test to assess their risk of contracting certain diseases

More than half a billion pounds will be pumped into the move, The Telegraph reported.

Gene technology will be instrumental in “leapfrogging disease, so we’re in front of it rather than reacting to it”, Health Secretary Wes Streeting said.

The tests will sequence newborn’s DNA by extracting blood samples from their umbilical cords shortly after they have been born.

The move is part of a 10-year health plan, due to be published early next month, which will put an emphasis on personalised medicine.

It is hoped that the change will catalyse the end of blanket screening for issues including high cholesterol and blood pressure after the problem has become entrenched in patients.

The Department for Health and Social Care said that genomics – the study of genes – and AI would be used to “revolutionise prevention” and provide faster diagnoses and an “early warning signal for disease”.

Mr Streeting said: “The revolution in medical science means that we can transform the NHS over the coming decade, from a service which diagnoses and treats ill health, to one that predicts and prevents it.

“Genomics presents us with the opportunity to leapfrog disease, so we’re in front of it rather than reacting to it.

“With the power of this new technology, patients will be able to receive personalised health care to prevent ill health before symptoms begin, reducing the pressure on NHS services and helping people live longer, healthier lives.

“Our 10-year plan will build on the founding promise of the NHS, so that it provides health care free at the point of risk, not just need.”

It comes after hospitals began screening of newborn babies for genetic illnesses in a world-first NHS study last year.

Thirteen clinics in England now carry out blood tests on more than 500 infants, ahead of plans to roll it out to 40 hospitals nationwide.

Heel-prick tests check for nine rare but serious illnesses. The new DNA study aims to identify 200 more.

NHS chief exec Amanda Pritchard said: “If we can diagnose and treat children for rare genetic conditions years earlier, we have the power to help stop debilitating conditions.

“This will be life-changing for families.”

Plus, a new test could detect prostate cancer in 15 minutes or less, experts have claimed.

The “breakthrough” blood test was able to diagnose men with prostate cancer with 90 per cent accuracy in a new study.

Scientists from Aston University, Birmingham, developed a new method that analyses crystal-like structures in dehydrated blood.

Professor Igor Meglinski said the non-invasive technique can detect prostate cancer before symptoms appear with up to 90 per cent accuracy.

“This breakthrough opens new avenues for cancer diagnosis and monitoring, representing a substantial leap forward in personalised medicine and oncology,” he said.

Arsenal icon Santi Cazorla tried to play for free and is forced to use weak foot – now he’s set for ultimate swansong

ARSENAL legend Santi Cazorla will write one of football’s greatest fairytales if he leads boyhood club Oviedo to victory in Spain’s second division play-off final.

A home win in front of 30,000 fans on Saturday will return the club to LaLiga after a 24-year-absence and complete an extraordinary swansong for the 40-year-old former Gunner.

Cazorla played 180 games for Arsenal and has been linked with a return as part of the coaching team of his great friend Mikel Arteta.

But first he has what he called on Thursday: “The biggest game of my career, the most special.”

That’s some statement from a player who has won two FA Cups and two Euros with Arsenal and Spain.

Cazorla might even have retired nine years ago had he listened to medics who told him to just be grateful if he could kick a ball around in his back garden with son Enzo.

He ignored that doomsday prognosis and after an operation to rebuild his Achilles he returned to playing after a 22-month absence.

Eventually he signed for Oviedo – vowing to lead them to promotion.

They are 1-0 down against Mirandes from the first leg but any win, including a 1-0 after extra-time, will send them up.

It’s Cazorla who put them in the final with a left-footed free-kick against Almeria four minutes after coming on at half-time in the semis.

He said: “I’m still right-footed, but I’ve lost a lot of power in my right because of all the operations.”

Cazorla is from Oviedo in northern Spain and joined the club as an eight-year-old in 1995.

The team back then were in the middle of a 13-year stretch in the top flight and had Robert Prosinecki in midfield.

But they developed financial problems and sold the 18-year-old to Villarreal before he’d ever played for them.

By 2003, when Cazorla made his La Liga debut at Villarreal, Oviedo had slipped down to the fourth tier and almost went bust in 2012.

That was the year Cazorla joined Arsenal, scoring in the FA Cup final win in 2014, and winning the cup again the following year.

It was in 2016 when his injury nightmare began. He formed a bond with Arteta because he was also injured and the pair would watch and analyse games together.

He recalls: “I would look at him pausing and rewinding the action and think: this guy has already started being a coach.”

Cazorla’s injury hell lasted almost two years. A bacterial infection had eaten a 10cm chunk out of his right Achilles and attacked his ankle bone leaving it so soft Cazorla said: ‘The doctor could put his finger into it.”

A bit of his hamstring and some muscle from his arm was used to rebuild the tendon, and some of his thigh was used to patch-up his arm.

“I’m like a jigsaw,” he said of the surgery that left half of the tattoo of his daughter India’s name on his arm, and the other half grafted on to his ankle.

When he finally made his return, it was back at Villarreal and then in Qatar playing for his old Spain pal Xavi, before signing for Oviedo in 2023.

I would play for free but league rules mean you have to accept the minimum wage,” he said of an 80k-salary deal that includes 10 per cent of any shirt sales going to Oviedo’s academy.

The club had originally made him a lucrative offer but he admitted: “My wife said: ‘You’re not going to Oviedo to earn, you’re going home to enjoy it’.”

He enjoyed it last season playing 24 games but the club were beaten in the play-off final.

This season he has played almost double the number of minutes and there is a sense that they can go one better and win promotion.

Cazorla said: “Going up with Oviedo would be at the same level as winning the Euros.

If they are promoted the club will urge him to sign for a final season in Spain’s topflight.

But he’ll be 41 and 10 operations have taken their toll. He says “games don’t hurt” but there is daily discomfort.

Retiring on the high of promotion seems more likely and there would be no shortage of coaching opportunities.

He said last year amid talk that Arteta would welcome him into his staff: “Arsenal have never closed the door to me.”

This week he wouldn’t be drawn on his future, asked what plans he had if Oviedo win promotion, he would only answer: “I’ll celebrate.”

Man Utd target Victor Osimhen suffered tragic loss of mum and sold sachets of water on streets before breakthrough

VICTOR OSIMHEN is the man of the moment.

His name, which means “God is good” in his local Edo dialect, is fitting for someone whose journey reflects faith, grit and perseverance.

Osimhen could soon be heading to Manchester United as SunSport revealed last week.

Talks with Viktor Gyokeres collapsed after the striker was not happy with the Red Devils’ offer and now wants to move to Arsenal instead.

United are still in need of a striker and will now turn their attention to Osimhen.

The move would cap a remarkable rise for the Napoli striker, who spent last season on loan at Galatasaray .

The Nigerian began life selling sachets of water on the streets of Lagos to survive.

Watching him play today you can feel that hunger, a drive forged in the hustle of one of the world’s toughest cities.

For years his WhatsApp profile photo carried the words: “Focus, hustle, and believe.” It’s a mindset he still lives by.

Even as global interest in him soars, Osimhen remains grounded in the values that shaped him into a world-class striker.

His first coach, Chinedu Ogbenna, told SunSport in an exclusive interview from his base in Nigeria about how it all started for the striker

Ogbenna said: “I lived in the same compound where Victor was born.

“His father was a friend. I literally witnessed his first days on earth.

Victor Osimhen with his mother.

“The house was a shared compound filled with kids. Even as a toddler, Victor would cry uncontrollably if the ball was taken from him.

“He could barely kick but he just needed the ball near him. That’s where his love for football began.

“Life was hard, he lost his mother before he turned one. That’s the kind of start he had, it tells you everything you need to know about his journey.”

Breakout moment in Chile

Osimhen first grabbed international attention when he won the Golden Boot at the FIFA U-17 World Cup in Chile in 2015.

Nigeria had only narrowly qualified after finishing fourth in the African Championship.

Team media officer Morakinyo Abodunrin told SunSport how he witnessed first hand the growth of the man who will now become one of the best in the world.

He said: “He wasn’t the finished product when he joined, but something shifted in Chile.

“He asked the team manager for Nike boots and promised to score goals in them. I didn’t even think we had any but he insisted.

“True to his word he dominated the tournament in those boots, scoring 10 goals and helping us lift the trophy.”

His pace, power, and clinical finishing stood out but it was his mental toughness that truly separated him.

Losing his mother early and watching his father struggle without work gave him a resilience beyond his years.

Osimhen opened up to France Football  in 2019 about his tough upbringing.

He said: “I lost my mom in October, I do not even remember the year.

“I was small. Three months later, my father lost his job. It was very hard for our family.

“My brother sold sports newspapers, my sister, oranges in the street and me, bottled water in Lagos in the middle of the traffic.

“We have to survive so we stick together.

“In the evening, we were all together and we gathered the money on the table.

“We gave everything to our big sister and she made food and organized everything.

“Part of my life has been a struggle to survive. But that’s all I am today in the end. It’s hard to classify all that but each event has created my personality.”

The tough beginnings have given him the resourcefulness to survive through the harder times in his career.

Former Barcelona player Emmanuel Amuneke, who coached Nigeria’s U-17 team to victory, explained how Osimhen’s strong character shone despite a slow start.

He said: “You know how we Africans are with our mothers and he didn’t have his so I think he channeled that void.

“To be honest when he first came to us for trial I didn’t see much in him in the first set of games he played.

“But one of my assistants said, ‘Coach, that boy in green could have something.’ So I gave him another shot in the second game.

“That’s when it clicked, tall, strong in the air, quick feet, and raw hunger. You could tell he could go far.

“Normally when someone is that tall you don’t expect them to be that good with their feet but he had it all.”

German setback

Following his U-17 triumph, Osimhen signed for Wolfsburg in Germany.

But he played just 14 games without scoring, overshadowed by experienced forwards like Mario Gomez and Divock Origi.

He was loaned to Belgian side Charleroi, where he found his form, scoring 20 goals in one season.

Speaking to The Nationonline, he said:“I wasn’t shaken by the criticism at Wolfsburg. I believed in myself.

“Moving to Belgium proved that difficult times can be blessings in disguise.

“Many Nigerians had come to Belgium before me and succeeded. I’m proud to be among them.”

A star at Lille

Charleroi exercised their option to buy him for just £3million, but that same summer, Lille swooped in, using funds from Nicolas Pepe’s sale to Arsenal to bring in Osimhen.

He made an immediate impact, scoring twice on his debut and later finding the net against Chelsea in the Champions League.

Then-Chelsea manager Frank Lampard was full of praise after watching him closely for the first time: “He’s a striker with everything, fast, strong, and technically sound.

“I’d watched clips before the game, but seeing him live was different. He’s impressive and his story is inspiring.”

Osimhen finished as Lille’s top scorer with 18 goals across all competitions attracting attention from Europe’s elite. He chose Napoli.

Superstardom in Naples

In 2020, Napoli signed Osimhen for a club-record £70million making him the most expensive African player in history.

After two solid seasons, he exploded in 2022/23.

He had missed AFCON with a facial injury and had to wear a mask which prompted the Italian media to dub him the ‘Masked Assassin’.

Osimhen scored 26 goals in 32 league games as he led Napoli to their first Serie A title in 33 years.

He also broke George Weah’s record to become the league’s top-scoring African ever and won the Capocannoniere as Serie A’s top scorer.

In 2023, he placed 8th in the Ballon d’Or the first Nigerian ever in the top 10.

But even at the height of success, tragedy struck again when his father, his biggest supporter, passed away during the COVID-19 pandemic.

A fallout with Napoli followed, derailing a dream move to Chelsea. From being the club’s icon he suddenly found himself sidelined, training alone, staring down six months without football.

King of Istanbul

Then Galatasaray called and Osimhen accepted and rediscovered his spark in Turkey.

He scored 26 goals in 30 games leading Galatasaray to the league title.

Since the transfer window opened he’s turned down four offers from Saudi clubs including one that was offering wages of £40million-a-year.

Where he goes next remains uncertain but one thing is clear, Victor Osimhen has fought through unimaginable odds.

He didn’t just climb the ladder, he built it one step at a time.

He’s earned his place among the best strikers in the world.
