Not known, clear with picture deskChery Tiggo 7[/caption]
A LEADING car brand has launched a new SUV that looks just like a Land Rover and is easier on the wallet.
The Chinese car firm have obviously taken inspiration from one of the biggest SUV brands on the market but for a fraction of the price.
David ShepherdThe Chinese model is eerily similar to a Land Rover[/caption]
Chery’s 2026 Tiggo 7 Sport and Tiggo 7 Plus have been unveiled with both designs looking almost identical to Range Rover’s hugely popular Evoque.
But it has one major advantage over its European competitors as its set to hit the roads for £9,000.
Pricing for the new Tiggo 7 Sports starts at 87,900 yuan in Asia, or around £9,100.
The higher end Tiggo 7 Plus is priced slightly higher at 91,900 yuan or £9,400.
Compare that to a brand new Evoque and you’re looking at an eye-watering £44,000 with costs even exceeding the £50,000 mark in some instances.
It’s still not as cheap if you purchase a second-hand Evoque which come in at around £20,000.
The new Tiggo is not yet sold in Europe and prices are likely to be higher when the model is eventually made available due to importing costs.
But British motorists will be happy to hear that, because of the lack of tariffs on brand-new Chinese cars, they will likely pay considerably less than their US or EU counterparts.
In Australia, the Tiggo 7 Super Hybrid has been made available with models hitting the market for $39,990.
That would equate to around £19,000 in the UK but this is still cheaper than many Western-build SUVs.
The Tiggo 7 is available in a range of fuel types including mild hybrid, plug-in hybrid and fully electric options.
But those keen on getting their hands on one may have to wait a while as Chery intends to first expand to Eastern European markets.
Eastern European nations could see a launch in the second half of this year with an initial focus on midsize plug-in hybrid models.
The Tiggo 7 Sport comes with a 1.5 litre turbocharged engine variant delivering 115 kW with a six-speed dual clutch transmission.
The model also comes with a mesh grille, concealed door handles and 18-inch alloy wheels.
Inside, buyers will find a 13.2 inch screen and a multifunction steering wheel.
Spend a bit more for a higher-spec model and you’ll see higher end features included such as a panoramic sunroof and ventilated front passenger seat.
Chery, the largest exporter of cars from China for the past 22 years, exported 1.14 million vehicles globally in 2024.

EX-PREM boss Bruno Lage has been embroiled in an astonishing touchline spat with his OWN player.
The Benfica boss watched his side see off Auckland City 6-0 in the Club World Cup on Friday night.

GettyThe ex-Wolves manager was seen shushing his player during the row[/caption]
Benfica struggled to break down the Kiwi minnows, taking almost an hour to find the opener.
Lage decided to shuffle his pack in the Orlando heat, replacing Orkun Kokcu with ex-Swansea City midfielder Renato Sanches.
But Kokcu was furious at being subbed, refusing to shake Lage’s hand as he skulked from the field.
Portuguese outlet A Bola claims Kokcu turned and shouted “f*** you” at his manager before taking his place on the bench.
A furious Lage confronted Kokcu and was seen shushing him by placing a finger on his lips.
And after Sanches netted Benfica’s third, the boss headed back to the bench to carry on the feud.
Kerem Akturkoglu was seen holding Kokcu back, preventing the incident from escalating as Lage again shushed his own player.
Lage claimed after the match that Kokcu was guilty of only wanting to “win and score goals”.

He said: “We decided that Renato should come on.
“Regardless of the players’ form, I make the decisions.
“In the last game, we started with Renato, and Kokcu came on later and helped us.
“That’s how it was today, too. I saw the behaviour of a consistently professional athlete. That was a unique experience.
“He has always behaved very well both on and off the field. He has the desire to help the team.
“I make the decisions I have to make, no matter who it is. I’ve proven that many times.
“I look at the player’s current situation and make my decisions calmly.”
Lage, 49, took charge of Wolves in the Premier League between June 2021 and October 2022.
He won just 19 of 51 games at Molineux, but was hampered by an injury crisis to his strikers.
Julen Lopeteguireplaced Lage in the Midlands, with the Portuguese taking charge of Botofago in Brazil before joining Benfica for a second stint last summer.

A COUPLE shared a glimpse into the abandoned Italian mansion they purchased for less than half the asking price.
And while the stunning property was definitely a steal, they revealed one major downside to their plans.
TikTok user Jordan Kamelleri showed his followers the Italian mansion he purchased with his partnerTiktok/@jordankamelleri
TikTok user Jordan Kamelleri (@jordankamelleri) and his partner Emmanuele are no strangers to rennovating old buildings and transforming them into high-end properties.
Their latest purchase is an “abandoned Italian palace” which hasn’t been inhabited in 40 years.
The couple have been documenting their rennovation work on the 14-bedroom space, amassing eight million views on one of their clips.
“When I was younger, I would have dreamed of a place like this,” Jordan told his followers, revealing that features such as the property’s armoury immediately sold him.
They have been working to renovate various properties together since 2018, eventually leading them to their most restoration yet.
Their new estate was built sometime in the 1500s and has over 21,500 square feet of living space.
With years of experience navigating Italy’s real estate market, the couple were able to negotiate the purchase price down to roughly half the original listing.
They revealed that they ultimately paid the equivalent of £557,000 for the property, plus additional fees and taxes.
The pair are now focused on clearing out the vast spaces and salvaging what they can.
However, the long-abandoned property comes with one major drawback.
They revealed that they have had to deal with “decades of decay” in their efforts to do up the space.
But there are significantly more pros than cons with this property, as well as being a steal with magnificent views of the Italian countryside, it remarkably also has functional plumbing.
While the current plan is to convert the space into a private property, the couple are remaining flexible and allowing for the possibility of opening one wing to guests as a vacation rental.
They added that they are also considering opening parts of the palace for events such as weddings.
5 Tips to Get on The Property Ladder
Saving for your first property is tough, but it is possible. Here are a few steps for first-time buyers.
1. Cut back on luxuries and start saving
Consistent monthly saving is the best way to accumulate enough money to get on the ladder, for a deposit and purchase fees. To do this, you need to take a look at your monthly outgoings and think about what can be cut out – holidays, new clothes, weekly takeaway.
Using a savings calculator can help you to establish how long you will need to save for a deposit. Based on your income, you can figure out a realistic amount to save each month.
2. Have a realistic property search
Set a budget for the property price you would like to buy, and think realistically about the location and size of your property. While we all may want that house with a view or extra bedroom, can you afford it?
3. Research Help To Buy and Shared Ownership schemes
The government has introduced a few ways to help first-time-buyers get on the property ladder and they’re great for those on lower incomes or to buy a property in more expensive areas like London.
4. Consider buying with another person
Investing with somebody else you know is a sure way to get onto the property ladder. You only need to save half the amount you would otherwise, so you can work towards getting your property sooner.
You can invest with a friend, family or partner. Naturally, it is a big step and a huge commitment so be open and honest about what you expect from living together — if you haven’t already.
5. Talk to a mortgage broker and get your documents in order
A mortgage broker can tell you exactly how much you can borrow for a mortgage, what you will need to pay monthly and in upfront costs.
The vast property has an array of indoor-outdoor spaces, a favourite feature for the couple.
These include several verandas, loggias, and panoramic atriums offering exposure to the Italian sun throughout the day.
TikTok users shared their thoughts on the stunning property in the comments section.
“This has SO MUCH potential as not only a home but also a wedding venue,” wrote one viewer.
“I’ve never been so jealous in my entire life,” said another impressed follower.
“People are really out there living my dream,” commented a third person.

Van Nistelrooy, 48, came in but endured a nightmare campaign which included a run of 17 defeats from 19 matches.
Leicester also managed to go nine home top-flight matches in a row without scoring a single goal – and losing all nine.
Van Nistelrooy remained in post until the end of the season and insisted there had been no discussions about his future right up to the final game – despite relegation being confirmed on April 20.
More than two months later, and now just seven weeks until the start of the 2025-26 Championship campaign, there has been zero communication from the club on the managerial situation, leaving fans furious.
But SunSport understands the King Power side have decided to axe Van Nistelrooy.

However, they are waiting until after June 30 so that there are not two managerial sackings and pay-offs in the same financial year.
There will also be a restricted budget but that should not put off Dyche, 53, either.

His funeral takes place on Wednesday at midday at St Patrick’s Church in Slane.
It’ll also stream online, with his family warning: “Due to very limited space inside the church, seating will be reserved and allocated for the family, with provision made for those outside.”
The chapel is being reserved for his family and guests because it is so small but the public are also invited to come and pay their respects.
In his online death notice, Lord Mount Charles’ family paid tribute to the staff at St James’ Hospital in Dublin who cared for him during his long and brave battle with cancer.
They said: “The Conyngham family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the exceptional staff at St James’ Hospital, where Henry received stellar care over the past decade and to all those who supported him with compassion, kindness, and humour throughout his illness.
“They are also deeply moved by the outpourings of love and support following Henry’s passing.
“Henry will repose at the Castle on Tuesday 24 and those wishing to pay their respects are invited to do so between 3 to 7pm.
“The funeral will take place on Wednesday 25 at noon in St Patrick’s Church of Ireland, Slane.
“Due to very limited space inside the Church, seating will be reserved and allocated for the family, with provision made for those outside.
“The family thanks you in advance for your understanding and would like to welcome those attending to sympathise after the service in Slane Castle.”
PUBLIC CONDOLENCE
Today, people have called to Slane Castle to sign a book of condolence set up in a marquee in front of the impressive building.
Many were villagers who had known Henry all their lives.
One couple told how they had moved to Slane in 1981 – the year of the first concert there – and had attended every gig since, including the recent Harry Styles show with their grandchildren.
‘DEARLY LOVED’
They said: “Lord Henry was a man of the people who was dearly loved and he will be missed.”
All of the visitors wrote personal messages to the family recalling their great memories of the Slane concerts and how they admired Lord Henry so much.
His son Alex told how his family were overwhelmed by the kindness and sympathy shown to them by the people of Ireland and it is helping them cope with their loss.
Henry Mount Charles is survived by his wife Iona and children Alex, Henrietta, Wolfe and Tamara.

BBC HOSTS Naga Munchetty and Charlie Stayt were seen leaving the Breakfast studio this morning amid claims the workplace was like ‘the Hunger Games’.
Naga, 50, sported a pair of sunglasses and was seen wheeling a suitcase as she made her exit following this morning’s broadcast.
Naga Munchetty seen leaving BBC Breakfast Studios at Media City in Salford this morningStephen FarrellBreakfast co-host Naga Munchetty has become embroiled in a bullying scandalStephen FarrellThe presenter was alleged to have bullied a female junior staff member
The presenter was stony-faced following damning claims she bullied a female junior staff member.
Naga was also alleged to have used a slang term for a sexual act off-air.
It comes after claims that Naga was reprimanded by bosses over two incidents in three years — including allegations she bullied a junior staffer.
The star, 50 — at the centre of a BBC Breakfast toxicity row — was also hauled in over a sex jibe made at Radio 5 Live.
Naga is said to have used a crude slang term for a sex act during an off-air break — before asking a colleague if they had done it.
The alleged remark stunned the Radio 5 Live studio and led to Naga being hauled before bosses.
She was reprimanded by a senior producer but no formal action was taken.
A source said: “Breakfast is no longer just divided, it’s been ripped apart.
“Some workers back Frediani’s tougher, more traditional journalistic approach and think the ‘softies’ need thicker skin.
“Others find him to be a bully and have welcomed the investigation into his behaviour. That already created two camps on the show. But the revelations about Naga have thrown a new twist on the scandal.
“Some find her a passionate advocate of people behind the scenes, while others find her as difficult as Fredi.
“This explosive mix has led to a deluge of revelations from both sides, creating a huge headache for the BBC as it scrambles to mop up the mess. It’s everyone for themselves like the Hunger Games.”
RexLove Island star Casey O’Gorman has revealed what he’s spent his £25k All Stars winnings on[/caption]
Gabby and Casey have now gone their separate waysRexSplashThe couple managed to bag £50k – £25k each – after becoming victorious on the popular dating series in February[/caption]
The following year, he returned to the villa for the show’s first All Stars series, and then again this year, where he ended up winning with then-girlfriend Gabby Allen.
The couple, who have since split, managed to bag £50k – £25k each – after becoming victorious on the popular dating series in February.
Now, speaking to Heart Bingo, Casey revealed what he’d spent his £25k winnings on, four months later.
He said: “Nothing in particular, I know that’s really boring.
“I took my parents out for a lovely meal and I treated my mum to something nice, but not myself.
“Me and Gabby went on holiday to Dubai, which was really nice too.”
Last month, Casey, who is single again after splitting with his girlfriend Gabby Allen, has dropped a big hint that he is going back in.
He was the first to ‘like’ Love Island’s official 2025 trailer when it dropped onto Instagram.
And once he had shown his approval, Casey’s Love Island pal Ronnie Vint stirred the pot further.
The ad features a letter from host Maya Jama announcing the brand new series.
Viewers of the ITV show are told Love Island is “coming soon” and that “attendance is mandatory”.
Casey didn’t miss a beat when the trailer dropped and immediately liked it.
Love Island winners - where they are now
EVERY year Love Island opens its doors to more sexy Islanders who are hoping for a holiday romance that could turn into more.
Here we take you through all of the Love Island winners so far and what their relationship statuses are now:
2022 –Davide Sanclimenti and Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu’s time in the villa was anything but a smooth ride, but they managed to win the public’s hearts – and the ITV2 reality show. STATUS: Broken up.
2018 – It wasn’t surprising fan favourites Jack Fincham and Dani Dyer won the show, as they were strong throughout. But sadly things didn’t last. STATUS: Broken up.
2016 – Nathan Massey and Cara De La Hoyde were together from the start of the series, and since they won the show they’ve had two kids and are married. STATUS: Still together.
Ronnie, who starred in the All Stars villa with Casey earlier this year, then tagged him in and wrote: “@caseyogorman HERE WE GO!!!!!!!.”
Fans immediately spotted the interaction and were quick to comment.
“No way !” one replied.
But Casey tells us that his pals are actually just teasing Love Island fans.
He said: “I think Tom, Ronnie, Chuggs all the boys comment on pretty much every single Love Island post being like ‘when’s Casey going back,’ but it’s all just banter and to be honest.”
He’s also since opened up on his split from co-star Gabby, after fan speculation as to why they went their separate ways.
Casey told us: “It just wasn’t working from either side unfortunately – but we are still friends, we ended very, very amicably.”
On Sunday night, Maya Jama quizzed Gabby on their split, during her appearance on Love Island After Sun.
