Alison, 51, posted a funny video of her riding a tractor in a corn field on social media and captioned it: “Rolling into my holidays.”

But sadly, a comment from a 77-year-old who called himself Peter left her nearly speechless.

Peter’s comment said: “Any time we see you are on TV we switch channels as you turn our stomachs being so fat and repulsive with a huge mouth.”

Alison then obviously upset, retweeted his comment with a single word – “Wow”.

But fans were quick to support her and one said: “Alison you know how special and fantastic you are.

“One of life’s gems always wanting to make people smile and these disgusting people are not worth giving airtime too you keep being you xx love you bab.”

“I’d just laugh at them babe, you’re beautiful and they obviously are ugly on the inside”, wrote another.

Another added: “Extremely mean and rude. I love watching you, you bring a sparkle to Bake Off and look after the bakers when they are feeling a tad stressed and upset.

“Plus the fall off the counter was epic.”

“That was harsh. Personally I think you are a great TV personality.

“Problem with people like that, they insult others to make themselves feel better,” explained another fan.

Another said: “Keep on flooding his TV, WE LOVE YOU.”

Others wondered why the individual was even commentating because his comment was replying to her pinned video, posted in 2021.

“Why he commenting on your 4 year old post,” asked one fan.

Alison Hammond's rise to stardom

SHE graces our televisions every Friday, as she co-hosts This Morning with Dermot O'Leary.

But just how did Alison Hammond first find fame?

2002 – Alison competed in Big Brother, and was the second housemate to be evicted . She won over viewers with moments such as when she broke the table in the garden by jumping up and down on it.

It was this year that she also started presenting for This Morning in a guest capacity.

2003 – Alison had a small acting role on TV drama Doctors.

2004 – This was the year that Alison returned to reality television, starring in shows including Celebrity Fit Club and Celebrity Stars in their Eyes – for which she performed as Nina Simone.

2010 – After several years of presenting gigs and reality show appearances, Alison was signed up to appear on I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! She came in 10th place.

2014 – This was a busy year for Alison as she competed on both Celebrity Masterchef and Strictly Come Dancing, coming in 10th in the latter.

2020 – Alison appeared on The Great Stand Up to Cancer Bake Off – her first, but not last, time in the famous tent.

2021 – Alison co-hosted This Morning for three episodes alongside Phillip Schofield.

It was later announced that Alison and Dermot would be replacing Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford as presenters of This Morning on a Friday.

2023 – Alison was announced as the new co-host of The Great British Bake Off, replacing Matt Lucas to present alongside Noel Fielding.

2024 – Following the death of Paul O’Grady, Alison stepped in as host of For The Love of Dogs.

2025 – An eight-part series titled Alison Hammond’s Big Weekend will premiere on BBC one next year, as she spends 48 hours with a celebrity in a bid to really get to know them.

While many more went on to comment how beautiful Alison was.

Alison recently showed off her huge “baby bump” as she hit back at pregnancy rumours with her toyboy lover.

The This Morning host, who is dating Russian masseuse David, 27, joked her “50-year-old womb couldn’t take it” as she recreated Meghan Markle’s viral pregnancy video.

It came after the Duchess of Sussex published a video showing her twerking in a bid to induce daughter Lilibet’s birth in 2021.

Of course, it wasn’t long before Alison’s followers rushed to post in the comments.

We built our dream home from scratch in Irish countryside on budget – our smart approach means we’re €175k better off

A SAVVY young couple’s smart approach to building their dream home in the Irish countryside has seen them €175,000 better off.

Newlyweds Jodi and Philip Kerr were “first time buyers and builders all in one” when they started their new home project on a tight budget.

And they’ve now shared all of their tips to other couples looking to follow suit[/caption]

But thanks to tight cost control and smart budgeting the young couple are just weeks away from living happily ever after in their dream pad – and it’s already worth €175k more it cost them.

As house prices continuing to skyrocket in Ireland, self-building can be a practical way to cut costs and have complete control over the design decisions.

Statistics show that the average price of a three-bed semi in Ireland was over €397,000 in 2024 – the most expensive at any point in Irish history.

And the number of self-build mortgage approvals has also grown steadily, with over 1,300 approved in Ireland last year alone.

Many of these are young couples choosing to build their own pads from the ground up.

And one such savvy couple is Jodi and Philip who are in the final weeks of building a breathtaking home in the Northern Irish countryside.

And after two years of building, the couple, who are only in their 20s, have revealed how they went about their bargain dream build.

Jodie said: “We got engaged in February 2023, and we went straight to an architect.

“My husband had a plot of land near where we were living and that’s what we wanted to start working on.

“We had no experience at all. Both of us were only 24 when we first started the process and we were just thrown in there – first time buyers and builders all in one.”

Now only weeks until it is finished, building the pad cost the couple €408k – but it will have a market value of a whopping €584k.

The couple chose to build near Philip’s family land that was inherited from his grandfather, which helped reduce the overall cost of the project.

Since teenagers, Jodi and Philip also saved money in a Help to Buy ISA.

And while this did not directly apply to funding their self-build project, it still gave them a strong start and helped them build good savings habits early on.

The pair also secured a self-build mortgage through Ecology Building Society in the UK.

ECO COST-SAVING

To qualify for this mortgage, their home had to meet environmental standards such as installing solar panels and an air source heat pump – both of which will also save them money in the long run on utility bills.

However, despite being their last resort, it turned out to be a suitable option for their stunning pad.

Jodi said: “So we had a lot of savings to start off, and then we got a self-build mortgage with Ecology Building Society based over in England.

“When going with them we had to have an ecological house – heat pump, solar panels, and a different septic tank to make sure that everything’s economical.

“We had to prove all of that on our plans and that they were going ahead, and then they accepted us.”

CASH BACK

At the time they began their project, there were no government grants available specifically for self-builders in Northern Ireland.

However, they now will be eligible for a £500 (€584) eco-friendly home grant once the build is complete and the house is signed off due to their choice in mortgage.

“We had no experience at all. Both of us were only 24 when we first started the process and we were just thrown in there – first time buyers and builders all in one.”

Jodie Kerr

Up next was sourcing an architect that fit all of their needs while sticking to a budget – and they happened to find their ideal match on Instagram.

Their architect provided a lot of advice on both the design and budgeting, and helped them find ways to reduce overall costs.

What’s more, they also sourced cheaper materials where possible and adjusted some design features along the way without compromising quality.

FLEXIBLE PLAN

And whenever costs went over budget in one area, they cut spending in other areas to stay within their overall financial plan.

Jodi said: “We’ve been able to kind of reel it in in different places, splurge and cut back on different things.

“But we’ve been so happy with our architect, he was able to guide us to stay within the budget.

“There’s no point getting stressed with spending more money in one area because it’s always possible to save on other things along the way.

“It just kind of weighs itself up. You can stay in your budget with good advice and planning.”

COST CHALLENGES

However, there building experience was not without its challenges – such as the cost of building insurance and worker absences, which caused some setbacks.

But living close to the building site allowed the couple quickly solve any problems that came up – only delaying their move-in date by a few weeks.

The couple also admitted that managing the budget required a lot more of their time and effort than they could have imagined.

And to help, they even hired a quantity surveyor who kept a close eye on pricing and costs.

But despite the difficulties, building their home from scratch did also come with a surprise benefit – it brought the newlyweds even closer together.

ADVICE FOR OTHERS

The experience also taught the savvy couple many lessons about planning and patience.

And they are keen to share their insight with others as they are sharing their building journey on TikTok, offering tips and encouragement to others thinking of taking on a similar project.

Her advice to other young couples is to work with a reliable and trustworthy team throughout the process to alleviate stress.

It is also essential to be clear and realistic about your budget from the start as costs can add up quickly and unexpected expenses are almost guaranteed.

“There’s no point getting stressed with spending more money in one area because it’s always possible to save on other things along the way.”

Jodie Kerr

What’s more, patience is crucial because delays and changes are almost inevitable in any self-build project.

And finally, make sure you listen carefully to the professionals, such as architects and builders, as it will save you time and money in the long run.

‘BE CLEAR ABOUT WHAT YOU WANT’

Jodi added: “Make sure that you’re working with a team that you trust, and then your builder and your architect are trusting and listening to you too.

“Be clear about whether you want an energy efficiency house or whatever sort of design elements you want while making sure you’re set in your budget and don’t run off on it.

“Be patient within the whole situation, we’ve waited two years for our house to come together, and it finally feels like it’s coming home straight.

“And just listen to the people that you employ – take their advice on board, and you’ll be 100 per cent.

“If you just kind of go off with your own ideas and think that you know better, then that’s where you come into problems.”

A RAID on a business premises in Dublin has resulted in the seizure of €2 million worth of cannabis herb.

The search was carried out on Saturday at a business in Ballyfermot.

Gardai from the local station, detectives from the Serious Crime unit, and Clondalkin Community Engagement Area were involved in the search, carried out as part of Operation Tara.

The seized drugs will be analysed by Forensic Science Ireland.

This seizure forms part of Operation Tara, an enhanced national anti-drugs strategy launched by Garda Commissioner Drew Harris in July 2021.

The focus of Operation Tara is to disrupt, dismantle, and prosecute drug trafficking networks at all levels – international, national, and local – involved in the importation, distribution, cultivation, production, local sale, and supply of controlled drugs.

A spokesperson said: “As part of Operation Tara, Gardaí have seized €2m of suspected cannabis herb during the course of a search of a business premises in the Ballyfermot, Dublin 10 area, today, Saturday 21 June 2025.

“The searches were carried out by Gardaí from Ballyfermot Garda Station, Clondalkin Community Engagement Area, and Detective Gardaí from Serious Crime South.

“The drugs seized are now subject to analysis by Forensic Science Ireland.

“Investigations are ongoing.”

Separately, two people have been arrested in Northern Ireland after police found drugs, paraphernalia, and money, during a search in Tyrone.

Detectives from the PSNI Organised Crime Branch recovered a quantity of suspected Class A controlled drugs with an estimated street value of approximately £420,000 (€490,434).

The search was conducted at a property in the Gorestown Road area of Dungannon under the Misuse of Drugs Act on Friday, June 20 shortly after 5.20pm.

As part of the ongoing investigation two men, aged 39 and 24 years old, were arrested on suspicion of a number of drug-related offences.

Both men are currently in police custody at this time.

Detective Inspector Stickland said: “The drugs, as well as a sum of money and drugs paraphernalia, have been taken away for further forensic examinations.

“Our officers will continue to protect communities from the harm of illegal drugs.

“As a result of this excellent police work, a large quantity of suspected dangerous controlled drugs are now safely off our streets.

“Drugs have no place in our community and I am making a direct appeal to anyone with information about the illicit supply, possession or misuse of drugs to contact police on the non-emergency number 101, or submit a report online using the non-emergency reporting form via www.psni.police.uk/makeareport/.”

Martin Odegaard marries stunning partner Helene with Arsenal pal Bukayo Saka and girlfriend Tolami among guests

MARTIN ODEGAARD married partner Helene Spilling in front of the Arsenal captain’s teammates and pals during a ceremony in Norway.

Odegaard, 26, and Helene, 29, said ‘I do’ in front of their loved ones, months after reports claimed they had already secretly tied the knot.

Norwegian newspaper Verdens Gang reported last November that Odegaard had changed his status to married in the national register.

While Helene had updated her name to Helene Spilling Odegaard.

But now the pair have invited their nearest and dearest to Oslo to watch them officially become husband and wife.

That list of exclusive attendees included Arsenal stars Bukayo Saka, Kai Havertz and Leandro Trossard.

Saka, 23, was looking sharp in a tuxedo as he was pictured arm in arm with his girlfriend Tolami Benson.

Tolami, who wore a classy black dress to match the England winger, is thought to have started dating Saka back in 2020.

Havertz was also in attendance to show up for Odegaard since the pair have become close following his move to the Emirates Stadium in 2023.

Havertz and Odegaard have already jetted away on holiday together and their partners are often seen spending time with one and other too.

While Leandro Trossard and his wife Laura Hilven were also seen at the ceremony.

Helene is always supporting Odegaard in the stands at Arsenal’s games and it appears the pair have made close friends with the midfielder’s teammates since his Real Madrid switch.

Helene is a star in her own right too, having won Norwegian dance show ‘Skal vi Danse’ in 2021 – a show similar to Strictly Come Dancing.

And her impressive moves go much further than the TV screen, boasting 17 gold medals in the Norwegian national championship for ballroom dancing.

Odegaard and Helene have been public with their relationship since mid 2023 and welcomed their first child last year.

In a post on Instagram in December, the couple shared a photo of their son’s hand alongside the caption: “We love you so much, our little baby boy.”

Moment fare dodger tells rail inspectors ‘don’t touch me’ in tense clash after ‘falling £1.30 short for his ticket’

THIS is the tense moment a fare dodger told ticket inspectors to not touch him after falling short of being able to afford to travel.

The passenger was confronted by revenue protection inspectors at Weybridge station in Surrey after using a discounted ticket for under 15-year-olds, despite being older.

South Western Railway inspectors were alerted after the ticket – which provides half-price travel for children aged five to 15 compared to a full adult fare – pinged at the gateline.

The incredible moment was captured by film crews for the latest episode of Channel 5’s Fare Evaders: At War with the Law.

Shocking footage shows how the young fare dodger refuses to present his ticket after being asked to do so by inspectors.

When asked if his ticket was a child ticket by revenue protection officers Sharon and Carlos, the fare dodger brazenly admits to having a ticket but rejects multiple requests to show it.

As the tense moment begins to boil over, the young fare dodger exclaims: “You can’t actually physically touch me.”

Then, he begins to make his way along the walkway over the tracks at the station, heading towards one of the platforms.

Despite other officers stepping in to try and help stop the cheat, he appears insistent to make it to his train without showing a valid ticket.

Finally, officers manage to block him at the top of the staircase of one platform, confronting him continuously to present his ticket.

At one point, an exasperated ticket checker asks: “Why don’t you just show us your ticket?”, to which the fare dodger replies: “Because I don’t need to.”

Despite his continued protest, the young fare dodger eventually gives in, admitting he had bought a child’s ticket, despite being over the age of 15.

Sharon explained that the traveller had been short of buying the adult fare by around £1.30 and had therefore opted to buy the cheaper child ticket instead.

As a result, the fare dodger was issued with an “unpaid fare notice”, which is the lowest penalty enforced in these situations.

It means the young passenger was able to travel without a ticket on the day but he would need to pay the fine within 21 days.

Sharon explained: “A colleague’s been really fair with him.

“He’s issued an unpaid fare notice, which is the lowest penalty we can give and it’s just the price of the ticket that he should have bought.”

However, if he failed to pay it within the time frame, he would have faced the risk of prosecution.

Inspector Sharon explained he had been around £1.30 short of buying the adult ticket and so had opted to buy the cheaper child fare[/caption]

The show explained that there had been a “huge rise in passengers trying to get away with using half-price tickets they’re not entitled to”.

Another inspector filmed for the show said how sometimes he and other staff are abused verbally by travellers.

He said: “Sometimes we get bad language towards us, they will just push through and then we’ve got to stop them.

“We do get that level of abuse from them. And these are kids that are between 14 and 16 and they’re effing and jeffing at us.

“And I’m like, well, hang on.”

He added: “You do get people who are unhappy about being spoken to.

“No one wants trouble. You hope that everyone is going to be nice, but not everyone is the same, are they?

“But then you get customers who do actually appreciate it as well.”

Just last month, South Western Railway revealed it had recovered a total of £3.4 million from revenue protection work last year.

Unpaid fares cost the railway nearly £240 million each year – with South Western Railway estimating roughly 4.6 per cent of users of its network travel without a valid ticket.

A recent poll by YouGov found 68 per cent disapproved of deliberate fare evasion, adding they believed it was a serious problem that should be penalised.

Barcelona and Bayern legend’s son, 20, has two-minute nightmare at U21 Euros and leaves pitch with head in hands

A BARCELONA and Bayern Munich legend’s son had a nightmare couple of minutes at the Under-21 Euros.

Ruben van Bommel – son of Mark – started for Holland in their quarter-final clash with Portugal.

But he was sent off before the midway point of the first half in Slovakia.

Van Bommel Jr, 20, picked up his first yellow card for a shove on 19 minutes.

And in the 21st, he made a cynical tackle on Chelsea new-boy Geovany Quenda as the teenage winger tried to launch a counter attack.

That left Georgian referee Goga Kikacheishvili with a decision to make.

And he brandished a second yellow to send Van Bommel for an early bath.

The AZ youngster was evidently gutted.

He trudged off the pitch heartbroken with his head buried in his hands and covered by his shirt.

The 6ft 3ins star had a brief conversation with a member of the Dutch coaching staff before heading down the tunnel.

CASINO SPECIAL – BEST CASINO BONUSES FROM £10 DEPOSITS

His captain Devyne Rensch remonstrated with the official but his protests came to nothing and Holland had to play three-quarters of the quarter-final with ten men.

Van Bommel – whose dad Mark was one of eight Dutchmen booked in the 2010 World Cup final – must have feared he had ruined his country’s chances of European glory.

Especially when, just ten minutes after the red card, Rensch conceded a penalty.

But Quenda stepped up and sent the goalkeeper the wrong way… only to see his spot-kick cannon off the post and away.

The Dutch defence – featuring Ian Maatsen – stood firm for the remainder of the tie before substitute Ernest Poku grabbed a dramatic late winner for Holland to send them into the semis.
