MEGHAN Markle has come a long way since being a Deal or No Deal briefcase girl – and has since starred in Suits and bagged a prince.
However, royal experts have claimed that the Duchess of Sussex is “social mountaineering” herself to the top but has a lack of “authenticity.”
This follows the Duchess of Sussex being interviewed by “self-made” Emma Grede, co-founder of Skims with Kim Kardashian and podcast host for Aspire.
The two women sat down for a chat, covering family life for Meghan and Prince Harry as well as her ventures after leaving the royal family.
Speaking on The Sun’s Royal Exclusive show, news commentator Samara Gill said: “It was like the lack of authenticity in that interview was really palpable.
“Emma Greed, who was the interviewer, she’s such a self-made East Londoner who actually really fought for what she has.
“She’s really the brains behind a lot of big brands, the Kardashians etc, which is a little bit tawdry, but you know she really is someone who worked her way to be there.
“Meghan on the other hand really socially mountaineered her way to the top.
“So it’s very difficult to take this authentic side that Emma was giving and this complete lack of authenticity that Meghan was showing in the interview, it was very hard to watch.”
Royal author and broadcaster Hugo Vickers agreed, saying: “The thing is, would nobody ever listen to Meghan Markle if it wasn’t the fact she’d married Prince Harry?
“I mean the social mountaineering – because she’s married to Prince Harry – it gives it a soap opera quality which seems to appeal to everybody otherwise no one would care about.
“I mean a lot of other people doing the sort of things that she does – I mean sprinkling petals over salads and stuff.”
Starting out in the world of acting, aged 25 Meghan landed a role as one of the briefcase girls on gameshow Deal or No Deal.
The show first aired in 2005, but Meghan joined the following year for season two after successfully passing an audition.
Filming up to four episodes a day, sometimes the girls took home more than $23,000 (£17,526) a week, and the intense schedules followed by weeks off allowed her time for auditions.
Meghan then played Rachel Zane for seven seasons of Suits after she made her debut back in 2011.
The Duchess Of Sussex starred in over 100 episodes of the popular show before joining the Royal Family in 2018.

And since you only need a miniscule amount of baking soda, this hack will only total around 25p each time you try it out.
In the clip, which amassed 1.2 million views, Laura began by slicing her lime in half and dipping it in baking soda.
She waited for it to start sizzling, showing her audience the bubbles that formed.
The TikToker described the hack as “the best and better than any soap you will ever find”.
She advised her followers to use it “to get rid of any stink”, revealing that she rubs it on her armpits and “everywhere else”.
According to Laura, this process helps to “get rid of any stench” but also has other beauty benefits.
“It also exfoliates with the little grains of baking soda and for all of my stink girls, it will really help you get rid of that stink,” she explained.
Laura pointed out that it not only eliminates smells but also leaves you smelling like citrus afterwards.

OLEKSANDR USYK has made a major change to his team for the first time in 12 YEARS, less than a month before his rematch with Daniel Dubois.

IN DEVON is a beautiful 13th century inn with a unique beer garden that actually floats.
Picnic tables bob up and down on a floating pontoon that literally sits out on the Restronguet Creek in Falmouth and it goes up and down with the tide.
Of course punters can access the pub on foot or by car, but for anyone wanting to go in style, you can even access The Pandora Inn by water on the pub’s own mooring pontoon.
Directly outside the Inn is a slip for ‘parking’ and there are access points along the creek.
One is the popular Loe Beach, which is approximately 2 miles from The Pandora Inn over water.
The ‘floating’ pontoon has picnic tables in the summertime which is a real hit with visitors who get to eat and drink on the water.
In 2023, The Pandora Inn was included among eight pubs listed by The Times for its wonderful setting to enjoy a pint or two.
Speaking about the pub, The Times wrote: “Thatched and whitewashed, this is the quintessential Cornish pub — and it has a wonderful setting beside Restronguet Creek, a tributary of the River Fal and a yachtie’s favourite.
“Inside it’s all old beams, low ceilings, maritime memorabilia and ships in glass cabinets; outside the “garden” is in fact a big riverside pontoon.”
The Pandora Inn serves food throughout the day starting breakfast with a full menu from 12 noon until 9pm.
On Sundays hungry visitors can indulge in a traditional roast dinner which will change in the summertime.
As it’s a pub, of course there are all sorts of drinks too, and it serve beers from St Austell Brewery, the Westcountry’s leading brewer.
They serve ales, stouts, beers, cider and a have wine list of 21 from reds to white, rosé and sparkling.
It’s popular with guests too, one visitor wrote on Tripadvisor: “We ate upstairs – a really tasty pub lunch – before exploring outside along the jetty – the views were spectacular and well worth a visit – booking in advance would probably be advisable.”
Another added: “Great place to stop off if you have a boat as jetty/pontoon leads to nearly front door.”
A third wrote: “Great atmosphere, sitting on the jetty, drinking ‘on the water’. And a brilliant spot for the children to entertain themselves crabbing!”
The Pandora Inn is a historic gem with parts of it dating back to the 13th century.
However in 2011, the pub made headlines after it was almost fully destroyed in a fire.
The whole of the first floor of the ancient inn was destroyed and afterwards, it underwent a refurbishment – but still maintains its original look.
As reported by Cornwall Live, the inn is now run by two friends who both previously worked there 15 years ago.
The pub is now owned by Tom Milby and John Calland who joined forces to take on the old Falmouth inn.
They said: “Our new venture together just feels right – it feels like coming home.”
