A FASHION fan has tried on a glam pair of trousers from Dunnes Stores – and they’re on sale for just €15.
The retailer has a range of summer essentials currently on sale in its stores across the country.
And shoppers have been racing to pick them up.
The Gallery Jacquard Trousers have a striking gold foil floral design throughout.
Dunnes Stores bosses said the pants shape the legs.
They said: “From Gallery, these tailored trousers play with proportion, balancing a structured silhouette with voluminous shaping through the legs.”
The navy barrel leg trousers were originally priced at €30.
One Irish shopper took to social media to show off the “gorgeous” navy and gold trousers.
Deirdre Treanor snapped up the stunning trousers on sale for only €15.
The fashionista, who uploads under the user @theconfidenceandstyleceo, shared a clip of her new bargains with her followers.
Deirdre said: “I actually tried these on weeks ago when I did a try, I just thought they were trying to spot. I got them yesterday.
“Navy just seems to be gorgeous on a nightlife and they were reduced to €15.
“Cut from crisp fabric that holds its form, they feature a subtly elasticated waistband, side pockets, and dramatic pleating for added dimension.”
The trousers have hit the shelves in Dunnes Stores a couple of months ago but are only available in some stores.
Deirdre also picked up the Kitten Heel Slingback which she described to be a “favourite” as it offers a “really dressy” outfit.
This chic pair of kitten heels was originally priced at €20 but the fashionista bagged them for only €10.
‘REALLY NICE’
She said: “I love a kitten heel. They’re really nice because they were really dressy. I love that.
“You can adjust the strap at the back. They were reduced from €20 to €10.
“They’re a lemon colour. It kind of looks like a nude, but they are a lemon colour.”
The Kitten Heel Slingbacks are still available online and in stores.
They come in sizes 36 to 41 and are available in three colours: blue, lemon or black.
Dunnes Stores chiefs added: “This chic pair of kitten heels is designed with a low heel, a slingback strap with an adjustable buckle, and a pointed toe.
“They are perfect for adding a sophisticated touch to your everyday wardrobe.”
The cute pair of kitten heels can be worn with dresses, skirts, jeans and trousers.
Why police were called to first Dunnes Stores opening
BETWEEN the weekly food shops and bargain fashion - Dunnes Stores is a staple retailer in Irish households.
But this wasn’t always the case, and when the initial branch of the shop opened its doors in 1944 it caused quite the stir
On March 31 of the year, Ben Dunne opened the first ever Dunnes Stores on St Patrick’s Street in Co Cork.
Locals quickly learned of the grand opening and flooded into the store in what the retailer’s archives recall as a “shopping frenzy.”
The bargain clothing on sale inside the new store at “pre-war prices” was one of the factors cited for the buzz.
During the chaos a window was forced in and Gardai were called to the scene.
Cops worked to deal with the eager crowds and keep shoppers calm and safe before they made it into the store for their first Dunnes experience.
Fast forward some 80 years, the business now employs over 18,000 people and although an opening of a Dunnes branch hasn’t caused quite as much stir since the very first one, it has cemented its place as one of the nation’s leading retailers.
Dunnes Stores now has 138 stores across Europe:
- 118 in the Republic of Ireland,
- 15 in Northern Ireland
- Five stores in Spain.
Shocking moment female tourist is bashed in the head with a CHAIR while another topples into pool in Ibiza hotel brawl
THIS is the manic moment a female tourist is clobbered in the head with a flying chair during a violent poolside brawl in Ibiza.
The dramatic footage was captured when a fight broke out between raging tourists at the Marco Polo hotel in the Spanish holiday hotspot.
In the dramatic video taken in San Antonio, a group of tourists are seen yelling at each other, with one woman dropping to the floor after being struck.
She appears to remain on the floor injured for the rest of the shocking clip, only moving briefly when staffers try to help her up.
The fight ramps up when one of the tourists who was also caught in the crossfire steps back before falling into the water.
Suddenly, his pal is then hit by a soaring white chair and also falls backwards.
The two tourists continue to tread water – until the same holidaymaker that hurled a chair moments before goes in for seconds.
He lifts up another poolside chair and proceeds to slam it down into his victim’s bald head.
A group of lifeguards and security attempt to intervene, but their efforts amount to nothing as the chair-hurling man seemingly ignores them.
The two hurt holidaymakers then stay in the pool surrounded by foes, while their opposition continue to shout at and taunt them.
One of the men is even seen mocking the victims as he dances by the side of the pool.
A seemingly ironic sign, which reads “Good Vibes Only”, can be seen by the side of the pool.
Online users pointed this out when watching the chaotic clip, with one user saying: “Good vibes only sign does it for me.”
The account that posted the viral video captioned the brawl: “The chaos was temporary. The memories? Permanent.”
Other viewers seemed to find the mayhem absolutely hilarious, and heavy speculation suggested the men were all British.
One user commented: “Can smell the Stella, Joop and British passports from here.”
Another said: “Typical British behaviour.“
But some viewers were outraged by the fight.
One account said: “Doesn’t look like good fun happening there. Looks too intimidating and aggressive. No thanks.”
While another said: “Embarrassingly British.”
It is unclear if the men were British nationals, and the hotel have not commented on the brawl which left one woman lying on the floor.
In 2022, two people ended up in the sea when a mass brawl erupted in Ibiza after Brits were reportedly banned from a party boat.
The fight saw brawlers punching each other and rubbish bins being used as weapons in the popular resort of San Antonio.
The chair-throwing fight also comes after an EasyJet passenger on board a flight to Ibiza was left petrified after a group of rowdy “drunk” Brits turned her journey into a “nightclub”.
Furious Spaniard Erika Barrachina claimed she suffered a “panic attack” after having to cope with “scum” passengers.
The Ibiza resident blasted that these type of tourists should never have been allowed to board the plane in the first place.
Shocking footage showed a packed plane with passengers appearing to bang on luggage compartments and yell: “Come on Ibiza!”

Love Island’s ‘secret romance’ exposed as fans spot islanders chatting in the back of garden scene – did you spot it?
THINGS kicked off in the Love Island villa last night – but eagle-eyed fans have spotted something else intriguing.
They noticed two islanders chatting in the back of one garden scene.
The pair were spotted in the background during a tense chat between American Islander Toni and Emily.
Toni and Emily clashed in fiery scenes with the former accusing her costar of being nosey on the ITV reality dating series.
Toni – who arrived as the first bombshell of the series – got annoyed after hearing a conversation between Emily and Conor.
The row then started after Emily accused Toni of talking behind her back and was warned by Meg that Toni had said she was being “nosey” and described her as “Little Miss Sunshine.”
Toni was also seen talking about Emily to Shakira, who agreed with Toni’s views.
Following their row, an exasperated Emily said she thought Toni was “just trying to cause a problem,” and “she’s f****g nuts.”
But amidst the drama fans couldn’t help notice Shakria, 22, and scaffolder Shea, 25, getting cosy on the daybeds.
The pair were spotted laughing together despite the unfolding drama and fans think a new romance could be brewing.
Taking to X (formerly known as Twitter), one user said: “Toni and Emily arguing and all I could focus on was Shea making Shakira LAUGH in the background??? Oh my ship has potential to sail and I’m here for it.”
“Okay, love the Toni drama and all but did anyone notice Shakira and Shea in the background. They looked so cute together,” chimed another.
A third penned: “I peeped shea and shakira chatting in the background today.
“You also have to realize that they haven’t showed us all of the conversations. We know Shae and Shakira have chatted for example bc when Shae was fighting for his spot he said he’d like to continue getting to know her even though we haven’t seen them talking at all yet.”

The Mancunian beauty is now open to getting to know more people after she called things off with model Ben.
Their relationship was rocky from the outset as Shakira was left constantly questioning their chemistry.

Who is Damien Duff’s wife and how long have they been married?
Duff has been married to spouse Elaine since 2010. Their wedding took place in Somerset, England.
They live in a secluded part of Wicklow. Ballyboden native Duff often cites how Elaine is a valuable sounding board for him to vent after a match or training session hasn’t gone according to plan.
In a revealing 2024 interview with former Ireland teammate Richie Sadlier he acknowledged she occasionally has to “put him back in his place” when he carries work-related stress into their home.
Speaking on the Second Captains production Episodes, he conceded: “Maybe sometimes I did take it home here and Elaine would have to put me back into my place.”
Expanding on the impact that results on the pitch were having on his home life, Duff recalled a draw with Dundalk early in his tenure.
The 46-year-old explained that his inability to process the result in a healthy manner led to an argument with his wife.
He added: “I won’t go into too much detail, but I remember, it would have been a live game and it was drawn. It was on RTE but it wasn’t a great game. I think the next couple of nights, not a lot of sleep.
“I work more efficiently but back then it was working on not a lot of sleep and you’re driven by anger.
“I remember having a right barney with Elaine and it was probably a turning point in my personal life and professional life that, no, that’s not right.
“Elaine got the brunt. You always take it out on the people you love most. That was a big wake up call for me.”
Asked if he got help, he revealed: “Yeah, I had to. I went and spoke to the doc and I went and spoke to people and doc even noticed.
“When he’d seen me speak or live interviews that I didn’t look right, that I looked really angry. That I wasn’t Damien Duff.
“I like to think I’ve a good heart and believe it or not I’m a softly spoken guy. I know people are probably shocked by that when they see me on the sideline.”
How many children do they have?
Duff generally lives a very private life with no social media presence to glean insights into his home life with Elaine and their two kids, Woody and Darcy.
But we do know that Woody is the eldest of their two children having been born in 2011 while daughter Darcy came along in the years afterwards.
Woody was born with a hole in his heart which led to him having surgery at just six months. Damien has spoken about how the hours in the waiting room of the hospital were the toughest of his life.
Thankfully, the procedure was a complete success and Woody’s life hasn’t been inhibited from it.
In 2014, Damien told The Irish Times: “When they first diagnosed it they said: ‘Well, he mightn’t be a professional footballer but he’ll live a long and healthy life.’
“But when we go back now, the same professor says he’ll be grand, that he can do whatever he wants. So it’s obviously going well.”
He has since regularly supported Children’s Heart Ireland and while coaching at Shamrock Rovers, donated his reported €150,00 salary to the charity as well as Temple Street Hospital.
