I make £8k a month selling gear I found in BINS – I’ve bagged a Dyson Airwrap, food in date until 2027 & Apple gear
A WOMAN who scavenges in bins has revealed how she has taken home upwards of £80,000 worth of brand new goods for free.
Her impressive haul includes Dyson Airwraps, Calvin Klein outfits, and Apple items.
Content creator Ella Rose shares hauls that she picks up from the bins outside retail shops[/caption] Ella managed to pick up a Dyson Airwrap, which usually retails for around £400[/caption]What started as a curious teenage hobby for Ella Rose has transformed into an online phenomenon, captivating millions with her unique content about her finds.
At just 13 or 14 years old, Ella Rose, now 23, discovered a passion for uncovering discarded treasures.
Since then the Texas-based content creator has found a gold mine of items she has either sold, donated, or kept from shops such as Sephora and Victoria’s Secret.
Her top hauls from her daily – and sometimes nightly – trips behind stores include a £480 Dyson Airwrap salvaged from a Sephora dumpster, and a £400 pair of Valentino trainers from Saks.
“I started actually watching other creators dumpster dive on YouTube, and I asked my mum to take me to try it,” Ella said.
She explained that she “ended up really liking it” and a few years later, she began documenting her finds on her own YouTube channel.
“I just shared the content where I find things, just like how I got started watching it. A lot of people enjoyed it,” she said.
Over time, she expanded to TikTok, Instagram, and other platforms, amassing two million followers.
“A lot of supporters tell me they’ve tried dumpster diving because of my videos and found some really good stuff,” she said.
For others who can’t physically go out — whether due to illness or other circumstances—her videos offer a window into what stores throw away, she says.
“About a year ago, I was dumpster diving at Sephora and found a bag full of high-end makeup, perfumes, and even a Dyson Airwrap,” she said.
“That was crazy — probably one of my favorite and most expensive finds.”
“A couple of years ago at PetSmart, I found live fish, like goldfish, in the dumpster,” she recalled.
“They get shipment containers, and I guess they thought the fish were dead, so they threw the entire bag away.
“I just happened to check the bag, and they were still alive.”
Is dumpster diving legal in the UK?
Thinking of trying your luck rummaging through bins? Here’s what you need to know
Dumpster diving is not illegal in the UK as any rubbish isn’t considered private property.
You are able to dumpster dive if the bins are out in the open and on public land while not being locked.
However, you may be asked to move along.
Seasonal items, often thrown away after the festive period, have also provided opportunities for giving back.
“PetSmart throws away things like seasonal dog clothing, toys, and treats after Christmas,” she said.
“I feel like these could all be donated to animal shelters, but instead, they’re thrown away.
“At Five Below, I recently found a dumpster full of food that was not expired.
“Everything was labelled for Christmas and the expiration dates are valid through 2027.”
I also found a huge bag from a Nike store. There were a few items lightly damaged but the majority was able to be saved.

Other notable discoveries include items from Victoria’s Secret and TK Maxx, such as name-brand clothing, lotions, and decorations.
“I’ve dumpster dived at Apple and found a few things in their trash,” she added.
“We had a tornado hit our area and ended up damaging a nearby mall and Saks threw away a lot of name brand and designer items that were ‘damaged’ in the storm.
“I also found a huge bag from a Nike store. There were a few items lightly damaged but the majority was able to be saved.”
Sometimes Ella sells £8,000 worth of items on her website. During slower months, she rakes in around £400.
While Ella keeps some items for herself, donations remain a big part of her mission, she said.

CORONATION Street has revealed the fate of Max Turner as a suspect is arrested for the blaze.
Fans have watched as the Weatherfield home was set ablaze on Monday night in dramatic scenes.
Max Turner awoke from his coma in tonight’s Corrie[/caption] During the show fans watched as Nick was convinced his brother David was to blame for the fire[/caption] David wasn’t at Max’s bedside as he was formally interviewed at the police station[/caption]A dark-hooded figure had poured petrol through the letter box of No.8 before starting the inferno.
The inferno fire came after David Platt stole money from the notorious gangster Harvey Gaskell.
Harvey’s thugs were out for David after taking money which belonged to him – putting his whole family in danger.
While Lilly and Max eventually made it out, Max’s life was left hanging in the balance.
But in Wednesday’s third and final visit to the cobbles, the youngster – who was in an induced coma – opened his eyes.
However, his dad David wasn’t able to be at his bedside as he was detained at the police station.
His brother Nick Tilsley turned him in to the authorities, believing he was behind the blaze.
David was arrested by Kit and questioned as he pleaded for an update on Max’s health condition.
Meanwhile, Abi was released after Kevin provided evidence showing she was at the garage.
The episode ended as Leanne Battersby was the next resident to be hauled in by Kit, after previously asking Steve McDonald for an alibi.
Coronation Street continues on ITV1 and ITVX.
Corrie cash crisis: shock exits for 2025
ITV bosses are locked in a battle to save the cash-strapped soap.
This means that a number of stars have either been axed from or have abandoned the long-running serial drama.
Colson Smith – Craig Tinker
The character of Craig Tinker has been axed by bosses after 14 years. After he was told of the news in Autumn 2024, Colson Smith confirmed that would be written out of the show with scenes to air later this year. Craig’s on-screen mum, Beth Tinker, also left the show in the summer when actress Lisa George was written out from the role.
Sue Cleaver – Eileen Grimshaw
After 25 years playing Eileen Grimshaw, former I’m A Celebrity campmate Sue Cleaver will quit the show. The Sun on Sunday reported in January that she’s already begun to film her exit scenes. However the character will not be killed off in case Sue opts to make a return in the future.
Luca Toolan – Mason Radcliffe
Bosses decided to axe the teenage character after just 16 months after he first joined the show. Recent scenes saw Mason stabbed by his criminal brothers after his pal Dylan brought a knife in an attempt to defend him.
Sue Devaney – Debbie Webster
In November 2024, we revealed that Debbie Webster is set to be killed off after 40 years on the cobbles. The character will die as part of a heartbreaking long-running dementia storyline.
Charlotte Jordan – Daisy Midgeley
The actress became the fifth star to leave Coronation Street in just one month. We revealed that she will bow out of the ITV soap later this year after four years on-screen. Charlotte told sources that she’s hungry to see what other opportunities await.
Shelley King – Yasmeen Metcalfe
The actress has played Yasmeen Metcalfe on the cobbles for the past 11 years and we revealed in January that she finished filming her final scenes. This follows the departure of her on-screen partner Stu Carpenter.
Meghan Markle’s Billie Eilish video feels off – the moment she acts like a Love Islander made me realise it’s contrived
MEGHAN Markle has channelled a famous Love Islander for her latest Instagram video, according to a body language expert.
The Duchess of Sussex, 43, shared a clip with her 1.6million followers explaining how she lent on Hollywood pals to gather T-shirts from Billie Eilish for a young fan whose home was lost in the LA wildfires.
Meghan Markle uploaded a video showing items she was giving to a fan who had lost their home in the LA fires[/caption] Meghan filmed a short video inside what appeared to be her home sharing the story[/caption]“Bare-faced” Meghan tries to come across as “authentic”, according to Judi James, but there were “influencer” style elements which gave it a “contrived feel”.
The video showed Meghan in her £12million home sharing how A-list pals Behati Prinsloo and Adam Levine managed to get merchandise from singer Billie for the young fan.
While it was undeniably a kind gesture, Judi said: “This body language and performance is in a social media influencer style known as ‘contrived naturalness’.
“It’s Meghan channelling her inner Mollie-Mae Hague. She’s dropped the ring lights, filters and perfect grooming to appear bare-faced in front of the camera. This aims to signal brand honesty.
“She enforces this by forgoing professional camera-work. The video is all about the immersive amateur look with odd angles, unframed shots and the act of picking the camera up and carrying it into scenes while also talking in a chatty, unrehearsed-sounding way.
“It is a technique that creates feelings of intimacy and friendship-style collusion.”
While the video appeared to be filmed “off the cuff”, Meghan gestured to the carefully arranged piles of Billie Eilish stash on the table.
The body language expert said that we seem to be getting the “real” Meghan in the video, who is chatting to us “like a bestie.”
Judi added: “Meghan breaks all her usual communication ‘rules’ here, looking away as she is talking but then throwing her eyes to the camera in several powerful asides that suggest she’s sharing secrets.”
Meghan explained how she got in touch with a mother and her 15-year-old daughter who were affected by the raging LA wildfires.
The Duchess of Sussex sadly revealed that the teen was badly missing a prized Billie Eilish T-shirt after it was reduced to ash in the tragedy.
The 43-year-old said: “And so I said, well, I don’t know, Billie Eilish. I’m going to figure out how to get you this shirt.
“So I thought of everybody that I knew, and I made a voice note and I was like, please, can someone get this voice note to Billie Eilish.”
She then pans over to the pile of merch that Eilish sent over, exclaiming, “You guys, I don’t even know what all this stuff means, but it’s signed for her!”
Meghan happily revealed she had managed to secure much more than a T-shirt for the youngster.

She also held up what she described as a “lunch-box” thing and jokingly quipped she “felt really old” for not knowing what it was.
In the heartwarming social media clip, Meghan said she had met the family while in Atladena with Prince Harry.

The pair were visiting a community where “all the homes were left in ashes” when they stumbled upon the mother and daughter.
Meghan then signed off the video clip by thanking a number of stars who helped make the teenager’s dream come true.
The Duchess gave a shout out to everyone who “showed up in big and small ways” and helped victims of the California wildfires.

“Honestly to Adam Levine and Behati, you guys helped get this over the line.
“Just thank you so much. I’m gonna go and email her mum now. Just wanted to share that with you guys.”
The Los Angeles wildfires that occurred in January 2025 are predicted to have cost in excess of $135bn (£109.7bn).

It comes after Meghan was spotted helping at an LA wildfire relief hub as she hauled in bags of donations last month.
The Duchess, featured in a short video, shared by support charity Altadena Girls, showing the work they’re doing for LA fire victims.
The mum-of-two came laden with bags of supplies, while dressed down in a casual black fit and LA cap.
It comes as Meghan also decided to delay the release of her new Netflix docuseries amid the fires.
With Love, Meghan, was due to air eight 33-minute episodes in January but this has been rescheduled to March 4.
What do we know about Meghan Markle's new cooking show, With Love, Meghan?
MEGHAN Markle's new Netflix documentary trailer shows her cooking with Hollywood pals.
The Duchess of Sussex gave fans an insight into her show, With Love, Meghan, which airs on January 15.
There will be eight 33 minute episodes featuring a host of Meg’s various Hollywood friends trying her simple, yet “elevated”, food.
A montage of various clips in the nearly two minute video showed Meghan walking through vegetable patches and fields.
She was also filmed browsing through florists hand selecting beautiful flowers for table arrangements, showing off her creative side.
The Duchess even tried her hand at beekeeping, fully suited up, as she collected honey.
In the exciting new trailer, Meghan shared: “I’ve always loved taking something pretty ordinary and elevating it.
“Surprising people with moments that let them know I was really thinking of them.
“I’m going to share some little tips and tricks. I see what colour I gravitate to, and everything goes from there. And how you incorporate these practices every day.
“This is about connecting with friends.. I love that we’re doing this together for the first time. Making new friends.. and just learning.
“We’re not in the pursuit of perfection. We’re in the pursuit of joy. I have to get it totally wrong, to get it totally right.”
The trailer showcased many “candid” moments, from Meghan accidentally squeezing some lemon juice in her eye, to knocking freshly baked goodies off a plate.
Prince Harry featured at the end of the video, embracing his wife in a warm hug.
