Aidan O’Brien drops significant hint he could use Coral Eclipse as rebound race for Epsom Derby flop
TRAINER Aidan O’Brien says Derby flop Delacroix could join stablemate Camille Pissarro in the Coral Eclipse.
The beaten Derby favourite has been slashed into 10-1 from 20s for the £1million ten-furlong Group 1 on July 5.
Delacroix was sent off favourite for the Derby at Epsom but trailed home in ninth.
Camille Pissarro won the French Derby and is just 5-1 for the race. But runaway Royal Ascot winner Trinity College will not be lining up at Sandown.
O’Brien said: “The Eclipse will come a bit too quick for Trinity College. Delacroix will take his chance with Camille Pissarro.”
THE ECLIPSE, Coral bet: 5-2 Ombudsman, 3 Sosie, 5 Camille Pissarro, 7 Cal-andagan, 10 Almaqam
Meanwhile Oisin Murphy was the king of Windsor again last night as he took the feature five-furlong Fitzdares’ Sprint Series race on Nogo’s Dream.
The ace jockey made it an incredible 14 wins for the season at the Thames track as he booted in Richard Hughes’ five-year-old speedster.
Murphy was riding the gelding for the first time and took it up a furlong out on the 9-5 shot who knuckled down well to beat Grandlad by three quarters of a length.
Murphy said: “I’ve been lucky to get on some nice horses here — and Nogo’s Dream did the job really well.
“He found plenty when I asked him to go and win the race.”
The reigning champion jockey is now on 49 wins in this season’s title race — 18 clear of nearest rival William Buick.

Mum sparks debate after her child was uninvited to a party because she missed the RSVP date but whose side are you on?
A MUM has sparked a heated debate online after sharing her frustration when her child was uninvited to a birthday party.
Taking to TikTok, Sarah, known as ‘momof_4our_’, detailed the moment she discovered her son had been excluded – and the surprising way it all unfolded.

In her video, Sarah explained that one of her children had been invited to a party, but she ended up replying to one of the parents a couple of weeks later to RSVP because she is “crap at texting people.”
She responded by thanking them for the invite and saying her child was “really looking forward to coming.”
However, they replied saying that the party had now been cancelled.
But Sarah soon found out that the party wasn’t cancelled and had still taken place.
She said: “All of my child’s friends were texting him saying why aren’t you at the party, how come you’re not here, we want to see blah blah blah.”
Sarah soon realised that the parent had “lied” to her by claiming it was cancelled.
Her frustration stems from the behaviour of the parents who, rather than addressing the missed RSVP directly, chose to lie about the party being cancelled.
She added: “Like why invite my child to a party if you’re going to pretend it’s not on anymore, I just don’t understand.”
Sarah explained that they all go to the same school and questioned what the parent thought was going to happen.
She went on to say how upset her child had been, describing the situation as “disgusting behaviour.”
The video, which has gained 157.7K views and 289 comments within 24 hours, has divided opinions online.
While some sympathised with Sarah and criticised the other parent’s behaviour, others argued that missing the RSVP deadline might have left the hosts feeling frustrated or overwhelmed.
One viewer commented: “Should have replied earlier, it’s so annoying when parents don’t text back for numbers and parents have to pay according to numbers. They probably meant your invite cancelled cos you didn’t reply.”
Sarah responded: “She said the venue had been double booked and she would let me know when they find another venue, so clearly didn’t mean that!”
Another added: “Just interested Sarah – When she texted it was cancelled did you reply with a ‘thanks for letting me know, shame etc etc’? Wondering if you didn’t respond & had done the response prior, late as admitted, could she have rebooked & thought you weren’t too bothered.

“Just a thought but if you did reply to the cancellation text then my theory is nada!”
A third said: “You replied weeks later. Maybe they felt bad saying they can no longer come so just said it’s cancelled.”
However, others were firmly on Sarah’s side. One viewer wrote: “Vileeeeeee! I’d have turned up to the party.”
Another added: “I would have confronted the mother, that’s not okay, poor children.”
Why designer school uniform is a total waste of money

Fabulous’ Digital Editor and mum-of-two Lydia Major has spent three years trialling different school uniforms and there’s “no way” she’d spend £4,000 on her kids uniform. Here’s why…
When my son joined reception in 2021 I wanted the best of the best for him – I forked out £80 on logoed polo shirts alone and what a waste of money it was.
They went grey after about three washes and worst of all, the poor boy had a terrible case of nipple chafing from the stupid, embroidered miniature picture of his school.
So, when he slipped on a M&S pure cotton one – which cost £2.56 (£12.80 for a 5 pack) it was a game changer. And shock horror, they’ve actually stayed white!
The truth of it is, no matter what you spend or what your kid wants to ‘look cool’, all uniforms are ultimately going to get trashed.
If it’s not gravy stains from the soggy school dinners, it’ll be totally torn shoes from footie or gymnastics at break time.
I’ve forked out £50 for Sketchers ‘all his mates had’ and they’ve lasted as long as the random sale trainers I found in Mountain Warehouse for £15.
And did my son give a hoot about them as long as he could run around? Nope.
Also, more importantly, school regulations on uniforms are there for good reason.
It puts all the kids on a level playing field no matter whether they live in the local manor house or the nearest council estate.
There’s no pressure for them to conform to the latest fashion fad and studies even show a uniform can be a great source of pride for children and help with confidence issues too.
If all kids (and parents) just stuck to guidelines on uniforms during this era where children’s anxiety and self-doubt is at its highest, maybe it could give them all the smallest boost in feeling like they belong.’
Football club in emotional plea for ‘hugely popular’ boy, 15, who died while swimming as family ‘devastated by tragedy’
AN emotional plea has been issued by the football club of a “hugely popular” teenage boy who drowned while swimming on one of Ireland’s hottest days of the year.
Talented footballer Kofi Owusu, 15, was enjoying the hot weather with pals in Co Meath on Friday when tragedy struck.

His body was recovered from the River Nanny in Laytown on Friday night — three hours after the alarm was raised.
Kofi, who also went by the surname of Jackson, became the second teenager to lose his life in the water this week.
He was from the Blackrock area of Dundalk and had travelled from the northeast town to Laytown with his pals.
Kofi’s football club Redeemer Celtic yesterday told how the untimely passing of their talented player has “left so many heartbroken” and “shook a community, town and further to its core”.
The club launched a GoFundMe appeal to raise funds that will “go directly” to support Kofi’s family with the unexpected funeral costs.
Paying tribute to their player, Redeemer Celtic said: “A child of fantastic talent. Hugely popular with a wide circle of friends.
“A child whose characteristics show he was raised as a highly respectful youngster. He was a credit to his loving family.
“A family that have been devastated by a tragedy, and sadly we have no words to ease their suffering at this horrendous time.
“This [appeal] can only help with support of the financial burden that also comes sadly at a heartbreaking times to so many.
“May God Rest your gentle soul Kofi, and gift strength to your family & loved ones at this time. Rest in peace Kofi.”
The Kofi Jackson Owusu GoFundMe has so far raised just over €7,000 out of its €7,500 goal, just hours after being set up.
In an emotional post by the football club last week, they lay two No 6 jerseys and flowers on their pitch in Kofi’s memory.
The club said: “We are Heartbroken. Closed until further notice.”
‘DILLIGENT STUDENT’
Kofi Owusu had just finished completing his Junior Certificate in Colaiste Chu Chulainn earlier this month.
In a statement, the school described his loss as a “terrible tragedy” for his family, friends, the school community and the local and surrounding areas.
A spokesperson said: “Kofi was a very caring young man with a wide circle of friends.
“He was a diligent student and a regular awardee for excellent attendance.
“Kofi was also an accomplished sportsman. He was a member of the school’s under 15 soccer team and represented the school in the recent Leinster Shield final on the 19 of May 2025.
“Kofi was also a member of the school’s under 16 basketball team and represented the school in the All-Ireland final on the 23 of January 2025.
“Our sympathy and thoughts are with Kofi’s family and friends at this time.”
SECOND TRAGEDY
The school confirmed that Guidance Counsellors and staff at the school will be helping students to deal with this tragic event.
The spokesperson added: “The school will be open to students and parents to support them and to offer them advice and guidance.
“The National Educational Psychological Service of the Department of Education and Youth have been in contact with the school and will be supporting and advising staff in their efforts to assist our students.”
Kofi’s funeral details are expected to be confirmed at a later time.
Gardai said they were aware of videos of this incident in circulation but urged people not to share them.
It marked the second such tragedy in a week after 17-year-old Peter Byrne died in the River Burrow on Tuesday.
Heartbroken pals of the teenage boy told he 17-year-old “would always stay smiling” in a poignant tribute at his funeral yesterday morning.

What happens if two teams finish level on points?
Points total is what usually splits the teams, but if they finish level, then goal difference will determine who goes through.
This has already been seen, as Atletico Madrid BEAT Botafogo 1-0 during the final group stage clash, leaving both sides on six poins.
The Brazilian side had a better goal difference, and as a result, went through.
But – if the two teams are level on points and goals scored, then it will come down to head-to-head.
Head-to-head means that if two teams are level, whoever won between the two sides will go through.
Group G may need another factor to decide who wins the group, as ahead of their clash, Man City and Juventus both have six points and eight goal difference.
If the sides were to draw the clash, it would go to goals scored, where Juventus currently lead 9-8.
