Woman ‘knifed film director sister to death & taped mouth shut before cops arrested her with victim’s diamond Rolex’

A WOMAN knifed her film director sister to death before she was arrested with the victim’s missing diamond Rolex, a court heard.

Nancy Pexton, 69, is accused of murdering Jennifer Abbott Dauward, known as Sarah Steinberg, at her flat in Camden, North London.

Jennifer’s Rolex was missing from her wrist, a court heard

The 69-year-old had last been seen alive on CCTV on June 10 walking her beloved pet Corgi.

She was discovered on the floor of her living room three days later partially covered with a blanket and with black tape on her mouth, the Old Bailey heard.

A post-mortem examination found the cause of death was a sharp trauma to the neck with eight stab wounds identified

Prosecutor Ben Holt said the evidence suggested the tape was “applied after the fatal injuries”.

The court was told Jennifer would usually wear a Rolex and a Cartier bracelet but when her body was found, the watch was not there.

The Rolex was found in Pexton’s bag when she was arrested on June 18, Mr Holt said.

Pexton spoke only to confirm her identity during the hearing today.

Pexton was remanded into custody to next appear for a plea hearing on September 9.

A provisional trial was set to take place at the Old Bailey from April 7 next year.

She also ran a film production company and made a documentary called Gods of War.

My skin looks so good people are shocked when I tell them I’m 70 – it’s thanks to a posh cream I’ve been using since 40

THERE are hundreds of skincare products out there that claim to banish wrinkles, but this one might just actually work.

This comes as beauty fans have been raving about the stuff online, with one even claiming it’s turned the clock back decades.

Elizabeth Arden Visible Difference Refining Moisture Cream Complex.

Shoppers have been raving about the luxurious cream online[/caption]

Some beauty fans look younger than their true age thanks to the cream[/caption]

The Elizabeth Arden Visible Difference Refining Moisture Cream Complex would normally cost £40, but it’s available for just £15 right now on Amazon.

And if 60 percent off wasn’t tempting enough, the results speak for themselves.

“This classic formula cushions skin with moisture and provides an occlusive barrier to prevent moisture loss,” the description online notes.

Ingredients like plant-based squalene help to “restore smoothness and radiance” while also moisturising for “softer, smoother skin.”

Not only that, but the cream is perfect for helping with texture and clarity – and perhaps most importantly, the appearance of fine lines.

Impressively, the products has an average rating of 4.6 stars out of five on the Elizabeth Arden website too.

One beauty lover said: “I’ve been using this for 30 years and is the very best for my sensitive skin. I am 70 and my skin looks very good.”

A second was also surprised by how effective it was, she said: “The cream makes my black skin feel hydrated and smooth for the whole day.

“I have an oily complexion – it’s visible and dermatologists have confirmed it – but with this cream my skin is not greasy and not shiny. So far it works.”

And someone else claimed the cream helped them avoid wrinkles.

They said: “I am 64 years old and have been using this since I was 20 years old. Hardly any wrinkles and still love using this. Hope I never have to change….Please keep selling this wonderful product.”

The cream is also perfect for sensitive skin, according to another shop who said: “Bought from the airport as an impulse purchase, glad I did as I have used it every day and wouldn’t be without it.

“I have very dry very sensitive skin sometimes with eczema and it has not caused any irritation and has greatly improved my skin texture and redness. Will repurchase.”

More anti-ageing tips and tricks

Board-certified dermatologist Dr. Hadley King and Curel adviser shared her top tips to reverse the signs of aging – and they’re all free.

She previously debunked four common skincare myths, including one that Jennifer Lopez herself swears by.

NO SWEET TOOTH

Her first free method was to decrease sugar intake and other refined carbs.

Dr. King said that almost eliminating both will “decrease aging of the skin.”

Eating lots of sugar ultimately causes the collagen and elastin fibers to lose their strength and flexibility, contributing to skin aging.

Dr. King also encouraged people to amp up their fitness regimen.

SUN SMART

Dr. King challenged readers to “commit to daily sun smart behavior” because “much of the sun damage that accumulates in our skin is the result of daily incidental sun exposure.”

Avoid peak UV hours, seek shade, and wear UV-protective clothing.

Some examples she offered were a broad-brimmed hat, UV-shielding sunglasses, and topical SPF for all exposed areas.

SLEEP SOLUTION

One of the most important pieces of advice Dr. King suggested was getting enough sleep.

Not getting enough shut-eye per night can result in “stress [on] the body,” according to the expert

“Getting too little sleep has been shown to negatively affect the skin’s appearance,” she said.

How to reverse ageing in just 2 weeks, according to royal go-to nutritionist

LONDON -based Gabriela Peacock, who has helped the likes of Prince Harry and Princess Eugenie prepare for their weddings.

She told Fabulous: “The science is evident that we all have the power to make simple life changing alterations to better our future selves – no matter what genetic hand we might have been dealt with.

“The reality is, we all sometimes indulge in unhealthy eating habits like processed foods, smoking cigarettes, drinking too much alcohol, inhaling city pollutants, and even drinking water from plastic bottles – none of this is good for us.

“All this does is promote the ageing process, but we all have the potential to change this.”

It may be hard, but try to keep away from sugary carbohydrates, because they feed chronic inflammation, which is one of the worst enemies of reversing ageing.

Now only will you end up putting on weight if you consume them regularly, but your energy and hormonal levels will be affected and this will influence how you look and feel.

Whatever your age or state of health, it’s never too late to reverse how quickly you are ageing and embrace the energy and vigour of a younger you.

Antioxidants, such as vitamins A, C, and E, are essential in neutralising free radicals—the culprits behind premature ageing.

Integrating a spectrum of colourful fruits and vegetables into your diet provides a potent source of antioxidants.

Omega-3 fatty acids, abundant in fatty fish like salmon and flaxseeds, are vital for maintaining skin elasticity and hydration.

Omega-3s act as nourishment for your skin, locking in moisture and diminishing fine lines and wrinkles.

Collagen, a structural protein dwindling with age, can be replenished through collagen-rich foods like bone broth and lean protein sources.

Kelsey Parker’s mum posts heartbreaking message after tragic death of grandson

KELSEY Parker’s mum has broken her silence after her daughter’s baby was born stillborn.

Tom Parker’s widow, Kelsey, revealed the devastating news this week that her son named Phoenix Parker-Lindsay, died just one week before his due date.

Kelsey – who announced in January she was expecting her first baby with boyfriend Will Lindsay, shared the news via a poem on Instagram.

Now her mum, Diane Whitlock, took to her own Instagram to share her thoughts about the tragic news.

“Good morning everyone. So I woke up this morning and it was a new day and I get out of bed and then I remembered Phoenix being born and his soul had already taken flight and I thought to myself people will say that life is so cruel,” Diane said in a video.

“But what if we have to walk the path we walk to learn what we need to learn because I believe that everything happens for a reason and I have to believe that.”

Diane added in the caption: “A special thought to beautiful Phoenix as his soul finds peace.

“Life is cruel, but we have to keep going and keep following our path.”

Kelsey lost her childhood sweetheart husband Tom in 2022 aged 33 following a brain tumour diagnosis.

She shares two children, five-year-old Aurelia and Bodhi, four, with The Wanted star.

Kelsey went public with her new relationship in September last year, saying she knew her late husband would “send the right man for her.”

The 34-year-old excitedly revealed her pregnancy in January before being pictured ring shopping with her tree surgeon boyfriend, 27, earlier this month.

But she delivered the worst news this week when telling her fans Phoenix had been “born sleeping.”

Kelsey shared the devastating news by posting a poem to fans, “For Phoenix. Born sleeping, forever loved.”

The phoenix bird symbolises immortality, resurrection and life after death.

Kelsey also wrote on Instagram: “Before I receive an influx of lovely messages and heartfelt well wishes, I want to just say that I truly appreciate everything you are all going to say and share.

“But with the news being so raw, I would really like to ensure that we as a family are given space and time to process this devastating and earth-shattering news.

“I love you all and thank you for your understanding and space.”

If you or someone you know needs support following the loss of a child, please reach out to charity Sands’ helpline on 0808 164 3332.

I’m a fashion fan and found viral fleece in Dunnes Stores with stunning floral design that’s perfect for layering

A DUNNES Stores shopper has shared her experience hunting for a viral fleece in the store that has been a huge hit with shoppers.

The retailer has been famous for it’s fleece releases over the past couple of years.

The range includes anything from block colour options to wacky prints – and shoppers love them.

Fleeces are perfect for any occasion – whether it’s the gym, for lunch or to layer up when the temperature drops while on holiday.

Now, a fashion fan has taken to social media to share a look at her experience hunting for a specific fleece.

TikTok user Zoe Simpson shared a short video to the platform for her followers.

In the caption of the video, Zoe wrote: “Me in a fleece. My hobbies include seeing things on my fyp and running straight to get them, but I’m sorry how cute is this fleece?”

At the beginning of the video, she said: “I’ve seen this fleece all over my for you page in Dunnes and I need it – so let’s go and see if we can find it.”

She then can be seen in her car outside Dunnes Stores, and she adds: “We’ve arrived at Dunnes – let’s go see if we can find it.”

Zoe then walks into the shop, and adds: “We’re in, and I’m not too sure where to look but let’s go.”

She then shows a shot of a wall with a range of different printed fleeces for sale.

She said: “There’s loads of other fleeces but we’re not seeing the one that I want.”

Then, Zoe spots the viral fleece, saying: “Wait, never mind.”

She shows a closeup of the fleece, which is blue with floral prints scattered across it.

The flowers have pink petals with yellow dots in the centre, creating a colourful look for any occasion.

Halfway down the sleeves it features a piping detail which reaches the cuff for an extra bit of colour.

This matches the piping around the collar, down the zip and on the two side pockets.

She then tries on the fleece, which looks super cosy.

Zoe then can be seen leaving the shop with the fleece in hand.

10 OUT OF 10

She said: “Goods secured, Dunnes is 10 out of 10.”

Viewers took to the comments section to share their opinions on the fab piece.

One person said: “Gutted we have no Dunnes in Scotland, it looks class!!!”

Another commenter wrote: “This fleece is so YOU omg.”

Someone else commented: “This was made for you!!”

THE HISTORY OF DUNNES STORES

DUNNES Stores opened its first store on Patrick Street in Cork in 1944 - and it was an instant hit.

Shoppers from all over the city rushed to the store to snap up quality clothing at pre-war prices in Ireland’s first ‘shopping frenzy’.

During the excitement, a window was forced in and the police had to be called to help control the crowds hoping to bag founder Ben Dunne’s ‘Better Value’ bargains.

Dunnes later opened more stores in the 1950s and began to sell groceries in 1960 – starting with apples and oranges.

The retailer said: “Fruit was expensive at the time and Ben Dunne yet again offered Better Value than anyone else in town.

“Over time, our food selection has grown and that spirit of good value has remained strong.

“Now we offer a wide range of carefully-sourced foods from both local Irish suppliers and overseas.”

The retailer’s first Dublin store opened its doors in 1957 on Henry Street and a super store on South Great Georges Street was unveiled in 1960.

They added: “In 1971, our first Northern Irish store opened, and many others soon followed.

“Expansion continued in the 1980s in Spain, and later into Scotland and England.”

Dunnes now has 142 stores and employs 15,000 people.

Brits’ most loved 90s trends revealed – from Doc Martens to ‘The Rachel’ haircut

Doc Martens, baggy jeans, and ‘The Rachel’ haircut are among Brits’ most loved 90s trends.

A poll of 2,000 adults revealed the most iconic 90s fashion crazes – with crimped hair, perms, and leather or denim jackets also high up the list.

Other nostalgic staples included shell suits, high ponytails, and the iconic little black dress.

The 90s was also voted as the decade with the most influence on today’s fashion choices – with top overall trends revealed as Brit-pop, hip-hop, and grunge.

Respondents also voted for their favourite celebrity hairstyles of the era – with Jennifer Aniston’s iconic “Rachel” haircut, Johnny Depp’s floppy hair, and Victoria Beckham’s Posh bob the official winners.

Most iconic UK fashion moments were decided as Princess Diana’s revenge dress, Geri Halliwell’s Union Jack dress at the BRIT Awards, and Liz Hurley’s Versace safety pin dress.

Ashley Birch-Ruffell, spokesperson for FUNKIN COCKTAILS, which commissioned the research ahead of the launch of its new 90s classic cocktail, the Apple Sour Martini, said: “90s fashion is very on trend, and it’s fun to see what our official favourite styles are.

“There are clearly many iconic hairstyles and memorable moments from this decade that live on in the public consciousness.

“It seems clear that 90s trends aren’t going anywhere anytime soon – and why would we want them to.”

Younger generations are leading the revival, with over six in 10 Gen Z (64 per cent) and Millennials (63 per cent) saying the decade’s fashion still influences their personal style – compared to just under four in 10 (39 per cent) of the total population.

Ironically, three quarters of Gen Z (75 per cent) and Millennials (76 per cent) feel nostalgic for the 90s, despite many of them being too young to fully experience the decade first-hand.

In contrast, fewer than two in 10 Boomers (19 per cent) say they feel the same, despite living through it as adults.

Almost nine in 10 (87 per cent) Gen Zs and 82 per cent of Millennials would also jump at the chance to revisit the 90s for one night to soak up the fashion and culture.

There were also some key trends that appealed to the younger demographic in particular – with a fifth of Gen Zs big fans of the space buns and the YTK aesthetic (22 per cent).

Whereas Millennials were found to be number one fans of the curtain hairstyle (18 per cent) and rave wear (17 per cent), according to OnePoll.com data.

And despite agreeing Diana’s revenge dress couldn’t be beaten, other top fashion moments for Gen Zs were Victoria Beckham’s little black dress, Kate Moss’s grunge look, and Naomi Campbell’s metallic mini dress.

When asked who most embodies 90s style today, Harry Styles, Billie Eilish, and Rihanna took the top spots as beacons of this iconic decade.

To mark the launch of the Apple Sour Martini, FUNKIN COCKTAILS has teamed up with London based hairdresser, Duck & Dry to offer free 90s hairstyles alongside a trial of the canned Nitro cocktail.

Ashley added: “It’s clear that the whole culture of the 90s is still considered unapologetically iconic and we wanted to deliver the perfect cocktail to match that vibe – as well as helping people level up their 90s aesthetic.”

‘There’s conflicting accounts’, says mum of Irishman killed in Ukraine hotel bombing amid plea for help solving mystery

THE mother of a young Irish man killed in Ukraine has called on European Justice Minister Michael McGrath to help solve the mystery of her son’s death.

Ryan Evans, 38, was horrifically killed during a missile strike on a hotel in Kramatorsk, eastern Ukraine in August 2024.

He was working with news agency Reuters looking after journalists and photographers reporting on the conflict.

His family, from Lanesboro, Co Longford, have been in contact with MEP Ciaran Mullooly, who has flagged the death to Commissioner McGrath.

In a letter to the former Irish Finance Minister, shared with the Irish Sun, Ryan’s mother Geraldine Evans said: “We have been informed that Ryan sustained massive injuries and was killed instantly, however, there are some small conflicting accounts from official sources and eye witnesses at the scene, whom we have spoken with, regarding his injuries.

“We are therefore seeking to obtain the autopsy report from the Ukrainian authorities in order to learn as much as we can and try and understand our son’s last moments and find out how badly injured he was as we were unable to see him when his body was brought home, his coffin was sealed.

“We understand the report will be traumatic to read, however, we believe that knowing is better than guessing and imagining his injuries as we have been now for almost a year.”

Independent Ireland MEP Mullooly has said he has received a commitment from EU Commissioner McGrath that he will raise the issue with the Ukrainian authorities, specifically seeking the results of Mr Evans’s autopsy.

He told the Irish Sun: “Ryan worked for Reuters and he was an experienced security man. He wasn’t a journalist.

“He was in the Middle East hundreds of times. He did all sorts of stuff before, but he was killed in a hotel in Ukraine last summer. His injuries were really, really severe.

“Last week, we met Michael McGrath and as the commissioner he’s the right man in the right place and he’s taken it on.

“He’s going to use his role to put pressure on the Ukrainian authorities to  see what he can find out.

“On a broader note though, it’s clear that hotels are being targeted by the Russians in Ukraine.”
