UK weather: Thunderstorms to hit as Glastonbury revellers queue for first day – before Brits to bask in 30C over weekend

THE Met Office has forecast rain and thunderstorms as festival-goers arrive at Glastonbury today.

Warmer weather is forecast as the festival continues.

However, temperatures are set to soar by the weekend, with highs of 30C.

Wednesday, June 25, is set to be “humid and very warm” in the south of England, with a “threat of heavy, possibly thundery showers” later in the day.

It could be a messy start to the festival, with its 1500 acres of farmland turning into a mud bath in previous years.

While the festival is best known for its music, revellers can enjoy the range of stalls, set up their tents and explore the grounds in the meantime.

The weather is due to get worse as the day progresses.

Forecaster Paul Gundersen said that thunderstorms with “lightning, hail and heavy rain” may lash the south east of England overnight.

On Wednesday at 10pm the festival will open with a theatre and circus act set in the Pyramid Arena, which will showcase acrobatic and circus performances, as well as a fireworks display.

Moving into Thursday, the weather should improve as the rest of the festival is set to be mostly dry and mild, with temperatures in the low 20s.

Gundersen said: “Elsewhere through Thursday, rain will move eastwards across the UK, clearing to showers, with some sunny spells breaking through at times.”

The Met Office website has forecast highs of 22C around 2pm, before dipping into the high teens in the evening.

A heatwave in the UK is met when a location records a period of at least three consecutive days, with temperature values meeting or exceeding the heatwave temperature thresholds.

Across the north and west of the UK this is 25C, and across Greater London and the Home Counties, 28C.

Gundersen added: “Friday will start dry in the east, with rain moving in from the west, becoming showery later.”

As the music festival kicks off, attendees can soak up the warmer temperatures as it reaches 24C by 4pm on Friday.

When opening headliner The 1975 take to the stage at 10pm, temperatures still remain mild at 18C.

Many parts of the country, including the Somerset-based Glastonbury, will stay dry on Saturday as the patch of rain moves south east and eases.

It gives revellers a chance to enjoy acts like Neil Young and the Chrome Hearts, Charli XCX, and Doechii without having to worry about the weather.

Sunday is due to see “variable cloud and showers” in the north, with “patchy rain and drizzle” in the west, but otherwise it should stay dry with sunny spells.

Rod Stewart is bringing the sun to his legends’ spot performance at 3.45pm on Sunday – with the Met Office anticipating highs of 25C.

The singer previously said he would be joined by his former Faces band member Ronnie Wood, among other guests.

With the festival coming to a close, the weather is set to stay dry and warm while making the journey home on Monday.

Parts of the south are set for another glorious weekend with temperatures set to hit 30C – hotter than Rio de Janeiro.

It comes after last weekend saw Brits enjoying the heat, as parts of the UK reached 33C on saturday – the hottest day so far this year.

Other performers include Irish singer CMAT, Prada singer Raye, US musician Brandi Carlile, Nile Rodgers and Chic, hip-hop star Loyle Carner, US pop star Gracie Abrams, indie outfit Wet Leg, Mercury Prize-winning jazz quintet Ezra Collective, US rapper Denzel Curry, and rising star Lola Young.

I never wore suncream as a teenager – my skin looked like leather & I looked 50 in my 20s – now I’ve reversed the damage

THE SUMMER season has well and truly arrived and now it’s more important than ever to look after your skin.

But while millions of beauty buffs kickstart their day by applying SPF, there are still plenty of those who skip the crucial step.

The mum has since managed to reverse some of the visible damage – and looks better than ever[/caption]

Now, one woman has revealed the shocking damage of her ”leather” skin after she gave suncream a miss as a teenager – and how she now looks totally different.

Mum Lora Croftcheck left TikTok users gobsmacked after she shared snaps of herself after skipping sunscreen in high school.

Lora, who graduated in 1999, told fellow social media users she never bothered with sun protection.

Sun safety should be non-negotiable and there are plenty of reasons to not skip this step, such as avoiding sunburn, minimising the risk of melanoma and premature ageing.

Sun damage, also known as photoaging, is skin damage caused by prolonged exposure to ultraviolet (UV) radiation from the sun without SPF protection.

There have been plenty of studies that show that skipping sunscreen can lead to premature ageing, uneven pigmentation, wrinkles, and an increased risk of skin cancer.

Sun damage is a significant concern because it can cause both cosmetic issues and serious health problem, experts have warned.

However, it wasn’t until later that Lora began to notice the true extent of the damage – and in her 30s, looked like she was in her 50s, she bravely shared in a now-viral video.

Uploading selfies, the mum said ”the sun damage and bags were awful” and admitted to always hiding behind cakey make-up to cover the spots and uneven skin tine.

But as she approached her ”upper 30s”, Lora decided to start focusing on skincare – and the results have left people with their jaws on the floor.

The mum, now looking more radiant than ever at 44, wrote: ”For the past seven years, I have worn sunscreen every single day, and I have never missed a day using skincare.

”I have used multiple brands over the years, and this is not a sales speech.

”It is just meant to motivate you to stay consistent, because it is truly key,” said Lora who’s also admitted to getting ”fillers and lasers” on top of using the viral Korean skincare.

The Importance of SPF

WITH summer finally here, here's everything you need to know about SPF.

1. Protects Against UV Radiation:

  • SPF shields your skin from harmful ultraviolet (UV) rays, specifically UVA and UVB rays, which can cause sunburn, premature aging, and increase the risk of skin cancer.

2. Reduces Risk of Skin Cancer:

  • Regular use of SPF can significantly lower the risk of developing various types of skin cancer, including melanoma, which is the most dangerous form of skin cancer.

3. Prevents Premature Aging:

  • UV exposure accelerates the aging process, leading to wrinkles, fine lines, and age spots. SPF helps maintain youthful skin by blocking these aging effects.

4. Maintains Even Skin Tone:

  • Sun exposure can cause hyperpigmentation and uneven skin tone. Using SPF regularly can help prevent these issues, leading to a more even and radiant complexion.

5. Essential for All Skin Types:

  • Regardless of skin type or tone, everyone is susceptible to UV damage. SPF is crucial for all skin types to maintain healthy skin and prevent damage.

6. Everyday Necessity:

  • UV rays can penetrate through clouds and windows, making daily SPF application essential, even on cloudy days or when indoors.

While it’s not possible to completely reverse sun damage, you can significantly improve the appearance of sun-damaged skin through various treatments and skincare practices.

These methods, especially introducing SPF to your beauty routine, can help reduce wrinkles, dark spots, and uneven skin tone, and boost collagen production.

Regular sunscreen use can minimise the formation of new sunspots and wrinkles and help repair some of the visible signs of aging caused by the sun.

Other skincare buys worth investing in include retinol, retinoids, vitamin C, as well as other antioxidants and chemical peels, explained the experts at Cleveland Clinic.

‘You de-aged 20 years’

The jaw-dropping video, posted under the username @loracroftcheck, has since taken the platform by storm, amassing over 4million views.

Close to 2,000 people flooded to comments in total shock, with one viewer writing: ”Australian here (so I know about sun damage) and finished high school in 1990.

”The difference between people who wear sunscreen and people who didn’t is staggering at my age.”

Another was stunned by the epic glow-up, commenting: ”you de-aged 20 years, great job girl.”

Someone else said: ”I’ve been using sunscreen everyday since I was 21 I am now 65 and skin is really good with no wrinkles.”

”Class of 2001! Tanning beds and now hiding my face from the sun!” a beauty buff chimed in.

Heart-stopping moment hero lorry driver pulls up against burning building so trapped man can leap onto his trailer

THIS is the dramatic moment a lorry driver comes to the rescue of a man trapped in a burning building.

Thick plumes of smoke could be seen pouring out from the three-storey property in Granby Row, Dublin, yesterday.

The lorry is shown reversing up as close as possible to the building, allowing the trapped man to jump out a window and safely land on the trailer.

Just before the lorry pulls up, the person can be heard shouting at people on the street for help.

He frantically screams “let me out” as horrified passersby gather below the burning building.

Footage shared online shows the Eurospar lorry arriving, putting its hazard lights on and backing up towards the building.

Taking a leap of faith through the smoke, the man – wearing a black hood and trousers – then jumps several metres onto the roof of the truck.

An audible thud can be heard as he successfully lands on the trailer.

There’s going to be uproar at my kids’ school thanks to new mobile phone rule – they’ll no longer be safe, I’m outraged

A MUM has predicted there’s “going to be uproar” at her children’s school due to a new mobile phone rule that’s been introduced.

Lisa explained that there was an email sent round to all parents in which it stated that “as from September, children are not allowed to bring their mobile phones on site to school”.

All students are forbidden from using phones the entire time they’re in school uniform, which means they can’t use them on the way to and from school[/caption]

However, Lisa predicted in a video on her TikTok page that it’s all “gonna kick off”, as she admitted: “I’m not happy about it at all, but I know there’s gonna be lots of parents that are not happy about this!”

And while she didn’t get a phone herself until she was 16, she said that times have changed, and added: “We have that luxury now to know that our kids are safe and they’ve got their phones if ever they need us.

“This is senior school. These children walk to school, some get the bus to school.

“How can they be expected not to have a mobile phone on them?”

Lisa continued to say that the school had initially allowed students to use their phones at break and lunchtime, but “swiftly took that away”.

“And I agree with that,” she said.

“That’s great that they aren’t allowed to use their phones at school.

“But to not be allowed to have their phones on site, I don’t agree with it. I don’t agree with that at all.

“It now means that I will be taking mine and picking them up because I don’t I don’t feel that it’s it would be safe for them to walk to and from school without a phone now.”

In fact, the letter goes as far as to state that “children are not to use mobile devices whilst wearing the school uniform”.

“They are not allowed to physically have a phone to their ear in any school uniform and they will be punished for that if they’re caught outside of school using their mobile phone in school uniform,” she admitted.

“Like I say, there’s gonna be absolute uproar over this, I’m sure.”

People in the comments section quickly sparked a debate, as many argued that a phone is a necessity for journeys to and from school.

“I would not be ok not being able to contact my child or them contact me should they need to,” one wrote.

“They shouldn’t be using it during the day agreed but there are too many weirdos around to not give them a lifeline!!”

“If they want to reduce technology use, then they need to stop making the homework online etc,” another added.

School Rules + Laws in the UK

“My kids will always go with a phone!”

“In my school there was multiple times where I had to phone my mum cause of an emergency,” a third commented.

“Kids need their phones in case something happens – they need contact with their parents whenever they need it.”

“That’s so controlling…. Yes no phones at school but how do they contact you if there’s an issue to or from school?!? Wow,” someone else raged.

“What happens if they get the bus to school and they miss it and need to call for a lift?” another wondered.

“What if they don’t live in walking distance and are going out with friends after school in that area?

“How do they call parents for a lift? What if something happens?”

However, others hit back and said they agreed with the rule, and kids shouldn’t need a phone at any point at school.

“If they can’t get to and from school without our a phone we collectively aren’t doing a good enough job,” one sighed.

“Honestly it doesn’t have to be such a huge deal.”

“Too right. Phones are wrecking their lives. Support the school,” another agreed.

I see no problem, we had no phones, we were OK!!!

My kids school is a no phone school and has been for years . And to be honest I think it’s a good idea stops the bullying and stops people filming fights and sharing it . But everyone is different

I’ll be devils advocate here a girl I worked with was voice recorded teaching a few weeks ago. The kids the used AI software to change what she said “sexual comments” and she’s under investigation. Hit rock bottom thinking her career is ruined! Kids do not need phones in school!

Smitten Tommy branded his love rival “disrespectful” but Conor hit back and said the power was in Tommy’s hands given he gets to sleep beside Megan every night.

And on Tuesday night, Megan dug herself in a deeper hole when she snogged Conor not once but twice on the terrace after admitting she’d recouple with him if the opportunity was there.

Now, raging Love Island fans want the Irish star axed after she kissed Conor after ‘gaslighting’ Tommy.

Taking to X, one person said: “GET MEGAN OUT OF THIS VILLA. #loveisland #LoveIslandUK,” while another added: “Megan is gaslighting the hell out of Tommy & that’s why she’s the biggest villain in that villa!! No accountability just blaming others!”

A third person wrote: “Ngl get Megan out of the villa, you could tell she was waiting for any opportunity to call it quits with Tommy, but to do it like that is insane.”

And someone else penned: “Get Irish Megan out this villa, and free Tommy kmt.”

Many Love Island fans held the same opinion, that Megan wanted to end things with Tommy and has gone about it in completely the wrong way.

Megan has spoken about the sexual chemistry she has with Conor, and after their first kiss they clearly both loved the intimate moment, with Conor calling it his “best kiss” and Megan rating it “11 out of 10”.

Tommy knew they were up there, but the duo purposely hid their smooch from prying eyes.

As a result, one viewer wrote on X: “Megan’s a nasty piece of work.”

Another said: “Going to the terrace and kissing Connor TWICE after you have been told Tommy was crying is crazy..”

A third posted: “Megan is insufferable I can’t stand her.”

A fourth said: “I can’t stand megan. The way shes only given tommy half the story and made it seem like shes not flirting back is so odd. Why lie???”

Fans convinced Chelsea have ‘scammed their way to Club World Cup final’ after Harry Kane’s horror last second miss

CHELSEA fans believe the team have “scammed their way” to the Club World Cup final after Harry Kane’s horror miss for Bayern Munich.

The England captain squandered a brilliant chance to salvage a draw for the Bundesliga giants against Benfica.

He headed wide in the dying seconds against Benfica[/caption]

Kane, 31, headed wide from just a couple of yards out in the 98th minute of the clash at the Bank of America Stadium.

Bayern, therefore, lost the tie as Benfica’s Andreas Schjelderup’s 13th-minute strike would be all that separated the two teams.

The win for the Portuguese side saw them claim top spot in Group C while Kane and co had to settle for second place.

As a result, this means that Benfica will play Chelsea in the last 16 while Bayern will play Flamengo.

The Blues have been drawn against Benfica as they finished second behind the Brazilian outfit in Group D.

Chelsea supporters now feel as though they have a much more favourable route to the final.

One posted: “How have we scammed our way to the final?”

A second commented: “Tactical second place finish from Chelsea I like it.”

A third wrote: “The best route for the Blues.

A fourth said: “Our path to the semi-final is now Benfica and then either Palmeiras or Botafogo.

“We’ve escaped both PSG and Bayern. We’ve got Delap and a star-studded squad.”

Another added: “Thank you Flamengo for beating us.”

Should they get past Benfica, they would then face either Palmeiras or Botafogo.

If they had been on the other side of the draw, then they could have come up against either Champions League winners PSG or Lionel Messi’s Inter Miami.

Chelsea could then face much tougher opposition in the semi-final with the likes of Real Madrid, Manchester City and Juventus potential opponents.

Botched tummy lipo made my boobs triple in size due to a side effect – I’m not complaining as toy boys can’t get enough

A WOMAN dubbed the claims her breasts got three sizes bigger after she had botched £7,382 liposuction on her stomach – and apparently, they are still growing.

Elaina St James was happily sporting a DD-cup prior to her surgery, which targeted fat cells to give her a more toned appearance.

Elaina is a 58-year-old woman who lives in North Carolina[/caption]

But the 58-year-old was stunned when she noticed an unexpected side effect.

In the months following the “botched” surgery – which left her stomach looking “lumpy” – Elaina’s chest inflated so much that the content creator was forced to overhaul her lingerie wardrobe to accommodate the changes.

The cougar is now a 36G cup size – but this could increase further.

“I thought I was going crazy at first,” said Elaina, who boasts 430,000 Instagram followers @elainastjames

“I asked my doctor if it was possible that the liposuction was causing my boobs to grow.

“I couldn’t think what else it could be, as I hadn’t made any major changes to my lifestyle.

“I was shocked when he immediately confirmed my suspicions.

“The doctor explained that when fat cells are removed during liposuction, sometimes the body compensates by kind of inflating them in other areas.

“Apparently, it’s not that uncommon.

 “I couldn’t believe it.

“I was blessed with naturally large breasts, so it wasn’t an area I had ever wanted to enhance.

“I had no idea this was even possible.”

A 2007 study shared in the US’ National Library of Medicine found that nearly half (48%) of participants reported an increase in their breast size following liposuction of the abdominal wall.

Elaina, who hails from the Midwest but currently lives in North Carolina, opted to go under the knife after years of feeling self-conscious about her stomach.

I had been wearing a DD cup size for years but suddenly they weren’t fitting right

Elaina St James

She said: “I started out in this industry as an older woman, so I always had a ‘mom bod’ – but I just didn’t feel comfortable being in front of the camera all of the time with my stomach out.

“Diet and exercise weren’t making any difference in terms of toning it, so I started looking into liposuction.”

Elaina explored different options before choosing to go with a large, national provider with “great reviews”.

But she felt dismayed with the finished look.

A few months later, she looked at options to get the lipo revised.

That’s when she noticed the bizarre weight fluctuation to her chest.

Elaina said: “I wasn’t gaining weight anywhere else but I noticed my bras were becoming too tight.

“I had been wearing a DD cup size for years but suddenly they weren’t fitting right.

“I was overflowing.

Women’s bodies fluctuate all the time, so it took a while for me to register the change

Elaina St James

“I knew it was weird but I was so busy with moving and being a mom, that I didn’t think too much about it.”

More self-conscious than ever, once she was settled in her new home, Elaina paid another $10,000 to get liposuction with a second doctor in February 2025 – 16 months after her first procedure.

This same physician confirmed that the first procedure had triggered her breasts to grow.

Elaina said: “They haven’t stopped growing since.

“It’s crazy.

“I now wear a 36G bra and with larger cup sizes you have to pay more for the brands that cater for them – so it’s expensive having to get a whole new set.

Do breasts get bigger after liposuction?

Plastic & Aesthetic Surgeon Dr. Leonard Josipovic shared that it isn't uncommon for breasts to appear larger after lipo.

It’s not as strange as it sounds. When you have liposuction, fat cells in the treated area, such as the stomach, are permanently removed. But your body still has fat cells in other places. If you gain weight after the procedure, those remaining fat cells can grow larger.

Since the treated area now has fewer fat cells, weight gain may show up more in other parts of the body like the back, upper arms, face or even the breasts.

Breasts are made up of both glandular tissue and fat. The amount of glandular tissue is influenced by hormones, age and genetics, while the fat content can change depending on your overall body composition. So if someone gains weight after lipo, it’s entirely possible that some of that fat gets stored in the breasts, making them look fuller. It’s not that fat has physically moved from one place to another, it’s just that your body now stores fat differently.

Liposuction is a contouring procedure, not a weight loss treatment. If someone keeps their weight stable and sticks to a healthy lifestyle after surgery, fat won’t suddenly shift to strange places.

But if weight is gained, it will show up in areas that weren’t treated – and that can include the breasts says Dr. Leonard Josipovic.

“It has cost me $450 to get new everyday bras that fit my new size.

“I’m hoping I don’t grow much more, because it gets to a point when boobs become too big to manage.”

While she isn’t overly thrilled with the unexpected side effect, Elaina’s new look has proved good for business.

She said: “It’s not the worst thing in the world to have big boobs – especially in my line of work.

 “Men love it.

Elaina values having a “natural aesthetic”, she is pleased with her new look[/caption]

“Some of my fans even spotted the increase before I did.

“Women’s bodies fluctuate all the time, so it took a while for me to register the change.

“I started getting comments that my boobs looked bigger.

“I thought it was just because my stomach was thinner, giving the illusion of a larger chest –  but they turned out to be right.”

While Elaina values having a “natural aesthetic”, she is pleased with her new look – including the unexpected changes.

She added: “There’s a lot of pressure to look good for women at every age and I’m all for it if you want to address insecurities.

“I remember getting comments saying I should do some sit-ups, put down the pizza or even go on Ozempic before having liposuction.

“I feel really confident in my body now and I’m embracing my new breasts too.

“Although I didn’t intend to get a boob job, I’m definitely not complaining!”

What are the risks of getting surgery abroad?

IT'S important to do your research if you're thinking about having cosmetic surgery abroad.

It can cost less than in the UK, but you need to weigh up potential savings against the potential risks.

Safety standards in different countries may not be as high.

No surgery is risk-free. Complications can happen after surgery in the UK or abroad.

If you have complications after an operation in the UK, the surgeon is responsible for providing follow-up treatment.

Overseas clinics may not provide follow-up treatment, or they may not provide it to the same standard as in the UK.

Also, they may not have a healthcare professional in the UK you can visit if you have any problems.

I had given up on men & my time to be a mum was running out – so friend got me pregnant using a cup & Calpol syringe

LYING down with her legs up against the wall, Tanya Bennet had decided not to get her hopes up about falling pregnant this time.

The 36-year-old had now tried two times to get pregnant with a cup of her friend’s semen and a Calpol syringe – none had succeeded.

For Tanya, a marketing manager from Telford, Shropshire, the clock was ticking for her to become a mum, but after coming out of another failed relationship, she had lost all hope of finding the one to have a child with.

Two years ago, Tanya was in a relationship and fell pregnant at the age of 34, she decided she was ready to be a mum even if it wasn’t planned.

Tragically, Tanya had a chemical pregnancy – a pregnancy loss that happens before the fifth week.

Speaking exclusively with Fabulous, she says: “After that, I was like, okay, I’m ready to be a mum now, I need to have a baby.

“It’s so weird. It’s like something just ticks in your head and you’re like obsessed with it. So then I got pregnant again.”

Unfortunately, Tanya had another miscarriage at seven weeks, leaving her feeling like motherhood would never happen for her.

She then found herself single once again and soon decided she would try for a baby without a man.

“I don’t want a boyfriend. I don’t like men. They do my head in. I decided then I was going to have a baby by myself basically,” she adds.

“I’m not waiting. I’m not giving up my chance of being a mum to wait around to try and find the perfect boyfriend that doesn’t exist,” she adds.

“I am financially stable, I’ve got my own house. You get a lot of help as a single person for childcare.”

Donor Finder

Tanya then had the task of finding a way to get pregnant without the opposite sex.

She decided to look into sperm banks and IVF, but it was way too pricey at £1,500 a pop.

“Obviously the plus with that is that it’s been vetted and you can kind of choose traits and features and whatnot. But that wasn’t an option because that was £1,500 per go,” she explains.

Tanya then went down a rabbit hole and found Facebook pages where men were offering their semen for free to women in need and she decided to take a look at what was up for grabs.

SPERM AND EGG DONATION RULES

DONATED sperm and eggs are used in IVF for people who cannot have their own biological children due to fertility issues.

The Human Fertilisation and Embryology Authority estimates one in every 170 children born today is conceived with the help of a donor.

It is illegal for donors to be paid in the UK, to prevent people doing it for the wrong reasons or prospective parents from being exploited.

Men aged 18 to 46 can donate sperm

  • They must go through medical checks to make sure they do not have blood-borne diseases or genetic defects that could be passed on to a baby.
  • You cannot donate anonymously. If a child is born using your sperm, they will have the right to know who you are when they turn 18, but you do not have a legal responsibility to look after them.

Women aged 18 to 35 can donate their eggs

  • They must go through medical screening for illnesses, genetic problems, and some clinics will not allow obese or otherwise unhealthy women to donate.
  • You can donate eggs to someone you know but there are strict rules against mixing sperm and eggs within families.
  • Egg donation is the same as the early stages of IVF treatment, and the donor has to take hormonal drugs to stimulate the production and maturation of the eggs before they are removed using a needle.
  • You cannot donate anonymously. If a child is born using your egg, they will have the right to know who you are when they turn 18, but you do not have a legal responsibility to look after them.

She explains that she had friends who were lesbians use the group to get pregnant and decided it was the right path for her.

But not long after joining the group and sharing her story, she found there was a grim side to being a single woman looking for a donor.

I know that sounds so bad but I could not wait this time to have a baby for it to look like the flippin sperm donor.

She quickly got messages from at least ten men offering their ‘help’ on the condition that she would sleep with them to get pregnant instead of providing the semen.

“There were the kind of weirdos that wanted to do natural insemination instead of artificial, and then there were the people that I just didn’t want my baby to look like that sperm donor.”

“I know that sounds so bad, but I could not wait this time to have a baby for it to look like the flippin sperm donor.”

“I don’t want to have sex with you. I just need the sperm,” she continues.

DIY Job

Fortunately for Tanya, she had a male friend who was willing to help her out after hearing her story

“I was just getting frustrated because every single month that was going past, I was getting older,” Tanya says. “So in the end, my friend gave me the donation.”

Tanya and her friend meet up three times to impregnate her, using an ovulation tracking app to see when it would most likely work.

Can you imagine all the seedy stuff that goes on in there?

As the pair was doing it at home on their own terms, they often met at her house or in hotels to get the deed done.

“So I did it at home and it’s pretty much kind of, you know, the old turkey baster way,” she explains.

“He just goes and does what he’s doing in the toilet, brings me the pot and then I just go and syringe it into the Calpol syringe and just put it in.”

The last time they met, Tanya made her way to a hotel where he and his boyfriend were staying for the night.

“Can you imagine all the seedy stuff that goes on in there? It’s funny,” she adds.

She then waited for him in his bedroom while he finished collecting the goods in the bathroom and then took the cup.

Tanya was sure they were too early for the sperm to make contact with the egg, but she still went through the process, keeping her legs high to help it swim up.

“They say that doesn’t help,” Tanya says, “But in my brain I was like no, that helped all right.”

“We were just laughing about it as I’m just sat there fully clothed with my legs up.

“And I’m like ‘Right, well that’s my 15 minutes done. I’ll see you next month.’

“It is literally that transactional.

“It didn’t feel weird because he’s my friend.”

Despite being skeptical she’d fall pregnant, Tanya checked a pregnancy test and found her dreams had finally come true.

“When I went for my 12 week scan, they said that I’d actually ovulated four days early and I was four days ahead in my pregnancy,” she says.

“So it actually turned out to be the exact perfect time.”

Going It Alone

While the pair are friends, they have decided that Tanya will be raising her son alone.

She revealed that later in life, if he asks, they are open to telling him who his dad is.

To be honest, I’d rather be a much happier mum to this baby than be stressed out and having a boyfriend that doesn’t live up to expectations.

Tanya continues: “He’d almost be like the uncle or a friend. It sounds so bad but I think in a way it’s so much better knowing that actually two people really really wanted you.

“And he wanted to help me as a friend, rather than I was with a man and a man can’t be bothered to look after his kid and has abandoned his child.”

As for the future, Tanya says she doesn’t plan to have another child or boyfriend.

“I think I’m gonna be one and done but only because I’m gonna be nearly 37 by the time I have him and in my head I think ‘Well, I can take this baby on two holidays a year,’ whereas if I have another kid who knows how long it’s gonna be till I get pregnant?” she says.

“It’s gonna be way more expensive with two kids.”

“To be honest, I’d rather be a much happier mum to this baby than be stressed out and having a boyfriend that doesn’t live up to expectations and I’m just being let down when I can just go and have a baby by myself.”

She adds: “My message to any kind of woman that is contemplating how they’re gonna have a baby and thinking they need to wait around for Mr. Right is to just do it by yourself.

“You’re gonna be, in my opinion, happier and less stressed.”
