THEY appeared to have it all, flying careers, three beautiful boys and an impressive country mansion – but out of the blue, it all came crashing down for Matthew Wolfenden.
His partner of 15 years, Charley Webb, brutally ended their marriage – and now for the first time, insiders have revealed why she decided to call it quits and move in with a star actress.
GettyInsiders revealed why Charley Webb’s marriage to Emmerdale co-star Matthew Wolfenden came crashing down[/caption]

In 2023, Charley, now 37, embarked on her first stage tour.
It was a big deal, landing a part playing Diana Ingram in Quiz – her first notable role since she quit playing Debbie Dingle in Emmerdale.
And she shone on stage – Charley received rave reviews and insiders say it sparked a burning desire to take her life in a new direction.
A source close to Charley said: “It was a big turning point for her when she landed the role and took to the road.
“It was the first time in years she was fully herself again, not mum, not Debbie – but a stage actress.
“There was a lot of downtime when she was on her own, and she really had a chance to think about what she wanted from her life.”
It was a tough time for me, it was a time of big changes and then this on top of things wasn’t the best news in the world
Matthew on the split
Husband Matthew was meanwhile at their home in Yorkshire, looking after their boys Buster, 15, Bowie, eight, and Ace, four, completely unaware of what was to come.
He had just left Emmerdale and was getting ready to head to London for a stage show of his own.
An insider revealed: “It was incredibly hard for Matthew because people saw him with Heather and assumed he was behind the split.
“He kept a dignified silence at the time and only decided to speak out about it all much later on.
“By that time, the dust had settled and Charley had found solace elsewhere.”
And that new independent direction was supported by close pal and fellow stage and screen star Sheridan Smith.
‘Out of the blue’
Matthew, 45, has since spoken openly about the break up – admitting it wasn’t his decision and he wouldn’t have gone about it in the way Charley did, revealing his concern for their boys.
He recalled: “Out of the blue, I got this news that she wanted to separate.

“It was a tough time for me, it was a time of big changes, and then this on top of things wasn’t the best news in the world. But things happen for a reason and yeah.
“It was a very very tough time, but these things happen, and I’m not the first person in the world to have separated from their partner with kids involved.
“It was the fact that the kids were quite young, and it wasn’t only a couple of years ago. That was a concern to me. We had to move onwards.”
He added on the podcast The Lewis Nicholls Show: “I didn’t expect it at all, it was a big shock. Separation is very difficult when you’ve spent 15 years together, your lives together and everything you own is together – just sorting out.”
‘Huge support’
Once he returned from London, the former couple kept their house for another year before putting it on the market for £900,000 in January this year.
After Charley moved out in late 2023, she move in with best pal Sheridan finding comfort with her fellow single mum, an award winning TV, film and stage star.
Sheridan, 44, shares a son, Billy, with her former fiancé, Jamie Horn, and recently split with her boxer boyfriend, Dave Ryan.
The pals’ bond grew further last summer when they jetted off to Greece for a sun-soaked holiday.
The two even spent Christmas together, which Charley called her “favourite Christmas yet”, sharing joyful snaps of their celebrations.
Charley became a big part of Billy’s life and has supported Sheridan, who she calls ‘bae’, with childcare while she works.

A friend revealed: “Sheridan and Charley have both been huge supports for each other.
“They have been through similar things and have also bonded over their love of acting.
“They love spending time together and even got a dog together.
“Their kids are all really close now too, so it just works really well.”
We’re always going to have a relationship.
Matthew Wolfenden
Initially, things were frosty between Charley and Matthew as they tried to work out their new arrangement, but the former couple have put their differences aside and found a way forward.
Matthew explained: “Everything was a bit up in the air for the first few months, but we’re very very amicable, we’re still friends and we’ve got kids together, so you have to be.
“We had the best 15 years together, and we had three amazing kids together. But in terms of co-parenting, we decided we’d do a week on, week off.”
And for now, the situation seems to be working well – Matthew is still with his new love, Heather, Charley is landing exciting new roles, but most importantly, their children are happy.
It’s thought Charley was slightly perturbed about Matthew’s decision to air their dirty laundry, but she is happy to move on.
She recently jetted off on a girls’ holiday to Bodrum, Turkey and delighted fans with a series of bikini snaps as she relished her new independence before flying home to Sheridan.
The friend added: “Matthew might have been blindsided about the split, but he has managed to work through his initial shock and concern. He feels better that people know it wasn’t his choice.
“They have really shown how to co-parent properly and are determined to keep things amicable – no matter what.”

NETFLIX is pulling the plug on over 20 games – including fan favourites like Hades, Carmen Sandiego and the Monument Valley series.
Subscribers have been given a “Last day to play” notice before the titles vanish from the platform in the coming weeks.
GettyNetflix Games is removing over 20 games[/caption]
Netflix Games has had a rocky nine months, with executive changes, cancelled projects and soon, the removal of games from both its mobile and TV libraries.
It was recently announced that 22 games – nearly 20 percent of Netflix’s mobile game library – will be axed on July 15.
July 14 is subscribers’ “Last day to play”.
Hades, Monument Valley (all three titles), Carmen Sandiego, Ludo King and Rainbow Six: SMOL are among the most popular Netflix games set to be cancelled.
A full list is available below.
Some of these games are still fairly new – Carmen Sandiego, for example, only joined the platform in January.
Monument Valley 3 launched as a major Netflix exclusive, but is now set to move to other platforms.
Several planned game releases – including Crashlands 2, Tales of the Shire and Don’t Starve Together – have also been scrapped.
The company first started adding video games to its catalogue of streaming TV shows and films in 2021.
Co-CEO Gregory Peters said in April that Netflix Games had made “decent progress” but remained on a “multiyear iterative journey”.
It comes as the streaming giant has confirmed plans to launch an animated TV series based on two of the world’s most popular video games.
Clash of Clans and Clash Royale have dominated iPhone and Androidapp stores for years – with over 65 million and 18 million monthly players respectively.
They will soon be transformed into a television show.
The series is in “early pre-production”, but no release date has been given.
Supercell, the Finnish company behind the games, is directly involved in the production of the series.
But Clash is not the first animated series to land on Netflix.
The platform already hosts Arcane, based on Riot Games’ smash hit League of Legends.
Other popular Netflix animations include Devil May Cry, Blue Eye Samurai, Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous and Sonic Prime.

For many intrepid travelers, the allure of Thailand’s most famous cities—Bangkok, Phuket, Pattaya, and Chiang Mai—has faded like the last rays of a sunset at Patong Beach. Once shining beacons of authentic cultural discovery, these bustling metropolises now grapple with the not-so-glamorous trifecta of overcrowding, inflated prices, and the relentless march of mass tourism. Where exotic adventures once lay, many visitors now find a homogenized rush, leaving them yearning for the genuine experiences that once danced tantalizingly beneath Thailand’s golden sun. Take Phuket, for instance—the siren song for beach enthusiasts and nightlife aficionados alike. Its beaches have been lauded as paradisiacal havens and its nightlife legendary. And yet, this dream has devolved into bumper-to-bumper nightmares, with hordes jostling for a sliver of sandy real estate. Commercialism pulsates to a beat that drowns out the island’s erstwhile charm, transforming it from a picturesque paradise to a clamoring tourist trap. Enter Koh…

In the tranquil setting of Sai Noi district, Nonthaburi, a stunning revelation recently unfolded, captivating the attention of law enforcement and the community alike. A 42-year-old Thai English teacher named Suchon, who had spent over a decade nurturing young minds at a local college, found himself ensnared in a legal drama of serious nature. Suchon was apprehended yesterday, June 24, following allegations of indecent conduct involving five male students aged 16 to 17. An arrest warrant, meticulously issued by the Nonthaburi Provincial Court under no. J.836/2568, marked the commencement of this intriguing tale. The investigation’s origin was surprisingly mundane yet crucial—a suspicious surge in electricity consumption at the director’s ostensibly unoccupied residence. College staff, perplexed by the power spike from a typical 1 to 2 units to an unsettling 23 units, rang alarm bells with local authorities. Their vigilance soon unveiled a group of male students clandestinely lodging at the…

FOR many families, the car is a part of daily life – from school runs and the food shop to weekend getaways.
But while most drivers don’t think twice about using their horn, vets are now warning that this common driving habit could be quietly harming the mental health of their beloved pets.
GettyAn everyday habit could be destroying your dog’s mental health[/caption]
GettyDogs hear car horns much louder than people do[/caption]
Motoring experts at Plates Express have teamed up with veterinary professionals to raise awareness about the unexpected link between frequent car horn use and rising anxiety in dogs.
It’s not something many pet owners consider, but according to new findings, the sharp, sudden sound of a horn especially when used often or near the home can trigger deep stress in dogs that builds up over time.
Dr Ellie Grant, a veterinary behaviour specialist, explains: “Dogs hear things far louder and more clearly than we do.
“A car horn might just be a quick sound for us, but for dogs, especially nervous ones, it can feel like an alarm or a threat.
“Over time, repeated exposure to sudden, loud noises like honking can lead to chronic anxiety and fear-based behaviour.”
Even small, daily honks outside the house can cause pets to associate the car or the driveway with stress.
For pets left at home during the day, these sounds can feel unpredictable and threatening, leading to pacing, barking, shaking, or even destructive behaviour.
Many dog owners don’t realise their pet is reacting to car horns, because the signs aren’t always immediate.
But the warning signs often show up at home.
Some of the most common symptoms of horn-related anxiety include barking or howling when they hear a horn, even on TV, and hiding or retreating when cars approach the home.
Your pooch could also show sudden aggressive or fearful behaviour during walks near traffic, or start to pant and shake when exposed to loud, unexpected sounds.
What’s especially worrying, according to the experts, is that repeated stress can impact a dog’s long-term mental health making them more fearful, less trusting, and more prone to panic in everyday situations.
While honking isn’t always avoidable, experts say most drivers can reduce their use of the horn and help ease the pressure on nearby pets.
Here are three simple changes recommended by Plates Express and Dr. Grant:
A spokesperson from Plates Express adds: “Most drivers never think about how their habits affect animals.
“But the simple act of using your horn too often, especially around pets can build up anxiety that lasts all day.
“We urge homeowners to treat the horn like a last resort and be more mindful, especially when pulling into their own driveway.”

LOVE Island has become embroiled in a new controversy after complaints were lodged with Ofcom following a row in the Majorca villa..
Viewers were left stunned by what they described as “bullying” behaviour from islanders Toni, 24, and Shakira, 22, towards Emily, 24, during Sunday’s dramatic episode.
The bullying row started when Toni previously said Emily was annoying because of her ‘Little Miss Sunshine’ personaErotemeShakira and Emily then clashed on SundayEroteme
Some fans called the scenes “difficult to watch” and “downright mean” on social media, with 56 lodging official complaints to the telly watchdog.
The drama began brewing on Friday night when Toni criticised Emily’s upbeat attitude in a conversation with Megan, saying: “I can’t listen to her. ‘Little Miss Sunshine’ all the time.”
She later doubled down, saying bluntly: “Emily’s just f**king nosey.”
Things reached a boiling point when Shakira confronted Emily on Sunday, telling her: “I feel like in situations, it’s a case of reading the room a little bit…I feel like you’ve not made an effort with us.”
Emily pushed back, saying she felt unfairly targeted.
She said “Just ’cause she’s in a bad mood doesn’t mean I can’t be in a good mood…you should have come to me.”
When Emily later discussed the exchange with other islanders, Shakira followed her and pulled her aside again – this time accusing Emily of being “bitchy” and gossiping behind their backs.
Emily stood her ground and denied the accusations, but the fallout didn’t go unnoticed.
Social media lit up with furious reactions: “What’s with the bullying in this villa????”
“So uncomfy to watch. All the girls just bullying one another—it’s disgusting.”
“Emily hasn’t done anything to deserve this. Shakira and Toni are bullies. Simple.”
It started when Toni previously said Emily was annoying because of her ‘Little Miss Sunshine’ persona.
Her behaviour was called out by Love Island winner Jess Harding.
She wrote about Ton’s “b****y behaviour” and said on Instagram: “Ok what the hell, just because someone isn’t your cup of tea doesn’t mean you can cause a big drama over it?!” Jess began her caption.
“Toni girl I loved you but I don’t like b****y behaviour & pulling crying behaviour.”
Jess continued: “Why can’t the girls be 1 big group cos these men be acting CRAZY.”
