AN INTERIOR designer has revealed the viral trend that will make your guests cringe.
So if you want a pad that will impress, you’ve come to the right place and will need to listen up and take notes.
If you want your home to look chic, you’ve come to the right place and will need to say goodbye to a popular, viral trendtiktok.com/@stylesosimpleHere, an interior designer has set the record straight on a design faux pas, leaving many totally stunnedtiktok.com/@stylesosimpleAlamyAoife Maria explained why matching furniture sets have got to go[/caption]
Bed KingsShe claimed that they will make your home look “cheap”[/caption]
Posting on social media, Aoife Maria, an interior designer from Ireland, shared the viral trend that she would never buy into, leaving many totally stunned.
So if you’re debating whether to buy a matching furniture set for your dining room or bedroom, you’ll need to prepare to be attacked.
In a short clip that was recently shared online, the interior pro said: “I think everyone knows this by now, but never get a matching furniture set.”
Matching furniture sets are co-ordinated collections of furniture pieces designed to complement each other in style, colour and material.
The idea is to create a cohesive and uniform look in a room – but Aoife believes these sets have the opposite effect and instead make your home look cheap.
She continued: “There is no excuse for your dining table to be matching your dining chairs, or your bedside locker to be matching your bed.
“When every piece of furniture looks like it’s come from the same showroom, it can fall a little flash and definitely not high end. It makes it look cheap.”
Instead, Aoife advised homeowners to pick a “statement piece”, whether that’s a bed or a dining table.
She then stressed the importance of ditching matching chairs and bedside tables, as she stressed: “I promise you, if you go for the dining table you love and mix it with some other dining chairs, it’s going to look so much better.
“This is because it actually gives the overall interior a more well thought out and bespoke feel.”
Big divide
The TikTok clip, which was posted under the username @stylesosimple, has clearly left many open-mouthed, as it has quickly racked up 915,700 views.
Not only this, but it’s also amassed 24,200 likes, 390 comments and 3,185 shares.
I don’t agree. I think it looks cheap when it’s all mixed up!

But social media users were left totally divided by Aoife’s claims and many eagerly flocked to the comments to share their thoughts.
One person said: “I disagree. Mismatch sometimes looks tacky.”
Another added: “Unmatching furniture gives me anxiety.”
A third commented: “I don’t agree. I think it looks cheap when it’s all mixed up!”
Homes with items purposefully selected always seem more interesting

Meanwhile, someone else wrote: “But I LOVE my matching dining set.”
However, at the same time, one interior enthusiast beamed: “OMG YES. I can’t stand to see a everything bedroom the same, looks like I just walked into a furniture store.”
A second chimed in: “This is actually good advice…. Homes with items purposefully selected always seem more interesting.”
Whilst another user agreed: “Agree!! 100%.”

Trends interior designers hate
IF you want to ensure that your home looks glam, here are the trends that interior designers can't stand.
NO YELLOW: According to Bilal Rehman, yellow paint in a bedroom is a big no no.
He said: “If you want everyone to know you’re a horse girl then yellow is perfect for you.”
SIGN OFF:Kelly Hoppen shared her honest thoughts on Live, Love, Laugh signs.
The interior pro explained: “Another gripe of mine – Live, Laugh, Love – those kinds of wooden things that sit on book shelves and floating shelves, that’s so 10, 12, 15 years ago.”
NO GREY YAY: Julie Provenzano explained that grey interiors have been overdone.
She stressed: “We took a good thing and we overdid it to the point that it now feels copy, paste, basic.”

A WOMAN who eats takeaway every night has defended her unique food plan, but admitted she makes “poor choices” when it comes to her dinner.
Saffron regularly shares videos of herself tucking into a pizza or greasy meal of an evening, and has found herself criticised for how frequently she relies on takeout food.
Saffron has a takeaway for dinner every night, but doesn’t payTiktok/saffronmariexxInstead she gets her devoted ‘pay pigs’ to pick up the cost of the mealsTiktok/saffronmariexx
However, in a new TikTok, she explained that she saves herself during the day so that she can chow down guilt free at dinner time.
“Eating really late means there’s hardly any options available, especially where I live,” she said.
And given that she relies on “pay pigs” to buy her meals for her, she always chooses to collect them from the food outlets.
“There aren’t many places you can really collect from,” Saffron added.
“So yes, we’ve got another Domino’s.”
But she admitted that if she had to use her own money, she wouldn’t choose the same food.
“Today with my own money I have had one meal, which was a green vegan juice, and an acai bowl – a mini one as well,” she continued.
“I don’t snack, so it’s not like I’m eating these big meals and then snacking all day, so I’m not making excuses for it.”
So while her “meal choices are poor”, when she buys her food herself, they “aren’t that bad”.
“I do have one other thing to say as well about all of this,” she concluded.
“A lot of the people judging me in the comment section, I’m pretty sure that you guys do other things that are worse than eating!”
As predicted, the comments was full of people criticising Saffron for her love of takeaways.
“Domino’s is processed crap, what’s proud to be about it?” one wrote.
“Grow up!”
“That’s pure toxic processed garbage that will end in disease/cancer,” another said.
“I feel bad for anyone who is naive like this.”
How to save money on pizza
TAKEAWAY pizzas taste great but they can hit you hard on your wallet. Here are some tips on how to save on pizza:
Cashback websites – TopCashback and Quidco will pay you to order your pizza through them. They’re paid by retailers for every click that comes to their website from the cashback site, which eventually trickles down to you. So you’ll get cashback on orders placed through them.
Discount codes – Check sites like VoucherCodes for any discount codes you can use to get money off your order.
Make you own topping – One savvy customer noticed that Domino’s charges up to 70p MORE for pizzas on its menu compared to ordering the same one through the “create your own” option. It’s worth trying out to see if it makes a difference before you place your next order.
Buy it from the shops – It might not taste exactly the same but you’ll save the most money by picking up your favourite pizza from your local supermarket. Some Asda stores sell freshly made ones from the pizza counter where prices start at £2.
“There’s about 4000 calories in that, and 700 calories in an acai bowl, so you gained about a pound today – wake up!” a third sighed.
However, others defended Saffron, with one asking: “Why so many hate comments?
“She’s gorgeous and seems so sweet and lovely.
“Everyone lives their life differently and does things their own way.
“Keep doing you and ignore the negativity!”
“Why are people so pressed in these comments?” another questioned.
“She’s not making you eat it!”
“I agree with you 100%, food with my own money is just diabolical,” a third laughed.
“However food being paid for by others, I’m straight on Ubereats!
“Don’t listen to jealous people in the comments who would probably do worse things than eating.”
“‘Random men pay for my food’ well what other use do they have?” someone else joked.
“Living the dream here! And I will never stop loving your honest videos!”
“As someone who’s pregnant and hates any food at home right now, if anyone wants to pay for me to have daily takeaways, I’m totally okay with that,” another laughed.
While someone else asked: “Would you ever be worried about the random guys showing up when you go to collect the food?”
“I’m really not because the chances of anything happening by a complete stranger is a real thing unfortunately,” Saffron replied.
“And most of these guys are from areas hours and hours away from me!”
She said that she always likes to collect the meals from the food outlets tooTiktok/saffronmariexx

FROM playing “Wembley” in his primary-school playground in Reading to playing at Wembley in the Champions League final, Jamie Gittens has already made quite the mark in his fledgling football career.
Yet the exciting winger, who will only turn 21 in August, is now starring at the Club World Cup for Borussia Dortmund and could be on the brink of a mega-bucks move to Chelsea.

RexHe is now in line for a £55m move to Chelsea[/caption]
The Blues have already spent £1.4billion to assemble their current squad, but club transfer chiefs are desperate to bring their former youth star back home.
In October, at 20 years and 75 days old, Gittensbecame the youngest English player to score againstReal Madridin the Champions League.
And only four months prior in June, he was starring in the Champions League final for the German side against Real, coming on as a late substitute for Jadon Sancho.
Gittens started his career at local side Caversham Trents before he was picked up by Reading aged seven, while also spending some time with Chelsea.
At Under-9 level he stayed with Reading before the Blues and Arsenal showed interest in him at Under-14 level, but he chose to snub both and join Manchester City.
It was a decision that was tough on him and his family due to the three-hour train journey which forced him to stay with a host family and change schools.
Despite the ordeal, Gittens said it was an easy decision to make, telling Secret Scout last year: “It was an easy decision.
“I could have gone to Arsenal but I chose City because they were producing players like Brahim Diaz and Jadon Sancho back then.
“At the start, I didn’t really believe it. I’m from a small town in the middle of nowhere.
“When they told me that they wanted me, I was just surprised, but thought that all the hard work I had put in was paying off.”
Then in 2020, he completed the Sancho-inspired journey to join Dortmund, where he has since developed into one of England’s brightest talents and had the chance to play alongside Jude Bellingham and Sancho.
Martyn Beney, Gittens’ former coach at Caversham, told SunSport last year: “A month into his training with us, we were thinking ‘Christ, this boy has got some serious ability’.
SOME of the world’s biggest clubs are in action at this summer’s Club World Cup in the United States!
Chelsea, Paris Saint-Germain, Real Madrid, Man City, and Inter Miami are among the 32 teams taking part in the tournament, which runs from June 14 to July 13.
The likes of Lionel Messi, Kylian Mbappe, Erling Haaland, Ousmane Dembele, Cole Palmer and Harry Kane are showcasing their skills to packed crowds across the US.
“His dribbling was incredible, even as a six-year-old. Jamie was a shy boy behind the scenes, with a really nice, sporty family, but they didn’t push him…
“They said they wanted him to be coached in a way where he could enjoy it, learn a few things along the way and can develop naturally. That’s exactly what we did…
“To see him develop and get this chance, which we all know is minimal percentages, from a local level, where his parents still live in the village, is a delight.
“To have mentors like Jadon Sancho and Jude Bellingham, who really was the first one to tell reporters, ‘Watch this kid, he’s coming up next’ and to know he started with us, is great. It’s a really nice story and one that the club is very proud of.”
It hasn’t all been smooth sailing for Gittens though, with him suffering numerous injuries including operations on both joints and a shoulder issue dating back to when he was 14.
He has also had to make major life changes, cutting out his favourite sugary treats like chocolate and sweets in a bid to make it to the top.
Fast-forward to today, and he has also lost game time since Niko Kovac was appointed on January 29, including playing just eight minutes off the bench in the final two Bundesliga games of the season.
But Chelsea’s interest in Gittens – who won the Under-19 European Championships with England in 2023 – has not faded, and they are set to table another bid of £55m to try and tempt Dortmund into selling.
BLUE MOVERS
CHELSEA have become adept at nicking some of the talent factory from rivals Man City – and it doesn’t look like stopping any time soon.
Jamie Gittens would be the EIGHTH high-profile name to move to Stamford Bridge from The Etihad, sometimes via a couple of other clubs in between – not including Jadon Sancho who spent last season at Stamford Bridge on loan.
Enzo Maresca
Chelsea’s current head coach was once part of Pep Guardiola’s backroom staff at City — and is such of devotee of his former boss he’s known as Diet Pep. Maresca, 45, – who also spent a season as Leicester manager – worked as manager of City’s Under-23 team.
Joe Shields
Chelsea’s Co-Director of Recruitment and Talent, who was poached from Southampton, where he spent just two months after leaving Man City in 2022.
Glenn van der Kraan
Van der Kraan was at City before joining as Chelsea’s academy technical director last October. He was head of coaching at City’s academy
Cole Palmer
The 23-year-old England star made the switch from Man City to Chelsea in 2023 for £40million, potentially rising to £42.5m. Palmer, pictured here with Lavia at Man City in 2021, has become the star man at Chelsea with 37 goals in 68 games for the club.
Romeo Lavia
The Belgium international midfielder, 21, joined Chelsea from Southampton for £53m in 2023. Before that he spent two years at Man City, making one appearance for the first team.
Tosin Adarabioyo
The 6ft5in centre back was at Man City’s academy for four seasons, and made his debut for the first team aged 19. Now 27, he spent four years at Fulham before moving to Chelsea on a free transfer last summer.
Liam Delap
The former City academy star moved to Ipswich for £20m a year ago, before moving to Chelsea for £30m in June.

LOVE Island’s whiplash “wife swap” took a saucy turn as The Sun can reveal Megan Forte Clarke and Conor Phillips spent a night in The Hideaway – and things got steamy.

Megan and Tommy had seemed to be one of the dating show’s most secure couples until this week, when her head was turned by Conor – sparking other Islanders to brand the situation “wife swap”.
But The Sun can reveal that after the four Islanders returned from The Sleepover at Casa Amor on Tuesday, Megan and Conor decided to cuddle up in the breakout bedroom and the naughty action went beyond just kissing.
The Islander’s return featured on last night’s show – but Megan and Conor’s private night may not air until tonight or even Friday.
The news will send Love Island fans into meltdown as they’re already up in arms over Megan ditching Tommy – who has fallen for her.
A source said: “After Conor and Megan snogged on the terrace the writing was on the wall, they were absolutely desperate to carry on, and so they decided to go into the Hideaway.
“Obviously the Islanders all went mental about it but they didn’t care.
“They were all over each other in there and, to use Love Island terminology, did bits.
“The No Invite Needed rule for The Hideaway is the best thing to ever happen to Love Island.
“It’s meant that instead of fairly pedestrian, shmaltzy scenes between settled couples, you’ve got the high passion of a new match or illicit link- up instead.”
TOMMY’S TEARS
Tommy previously branded Conor “disrespectful” for his conduct after he set his sights on Megan.
Earlier this week, Megan’s mood took a turn for the worse when Harry told Tommy that she’d admitted she has more sexual chemistry with Conor.
She and Harry later clashed in the bathroom with Megan yelling “stop getting involved”.
The bad vibes ran into the night as Megan and Tommy then clashed in bed, resulting in Tommy getting out and the pair sleeping separately.

He was comforted by Harry, who told him he’d “conducted himself like a champ”.
Megan dug herself in a deeper hole when she snogged Conor not once but twice on the terrace after admitting she’d recouple with him if the opportunity was there.
They both loved the intimate moment, with Conor calling it his “best kiss” and Megan rating it “11 out of 10”.
Viewers have reacted angrily to Megan’s brazen attitude and one wrote on X: “Megan’s a nasty piece of work.”
Another said: “Going to the terrace and kissing Connor TWICE after you have been told Tommy was crying is crazy…”
