Freak jet-ski accident ripped my baby’s daddy from our lives – I said four words to him and then he was gone

CHARLOTTE LESCOTT held her four-month-old baby as she watched her partner Ali jump onto a jet-ski and wave him off.

But just moments later, the mum watched as the love of her life was instantly killed in a collision with the jet-ski instructor in Dubai.

Woman in interview, text overlay: never even explain.

Charlotte clutched her baby in horror as she witnessed the crash from the boat – it was the last time she would see Ali alive.

Now the mum of Soulie has opened up about the traumatic ‘freak accident.’

Speaking on the One Way or a Mother podcast, Charlotte said: “The instructor and Ali just collided, it was a freak accident.”

While the instructor survived the ordeal, Ali was killed on impact as he made his way back to the boat and to Charlotte and his daughter.

The horrific accident took place close to the famous tree-shaped Palm Jumeirah island in Dubai.

At first, Charlotte assumed he had broken a leg but realised it was fatal when a friend told her to sit down.

“What I saw with my eyes was absolutely traumatising,” she explained.

The trauma of the incident left Charlotte believing it couldn’t be Ali who she had seen in the accident she recalled.

But reality sunk in when her friend came over and told Charlotte to sit down.

“I just knew. I knew at that point,” she said.

The pair had moved to Dubai in 2020, and Charlotte recalls that the fateful day started like any other.

“That’s what’s so crazy is, like, we woke up that morning and it was just supposed to be a normal family day out,” she explained on the Topic Tuesdays podcast.

“Going on a boat, you wouldn’t think anything of it.”

Charlotte stayed on the boat with their daughter Soulie while Ali went off with some friends on the jet-skis.

The mum revealed that day was ‘lovely’ and she saw Ali off onto the jet-ski and waited for him to come back to the boat, as she wasn’t the biggest fan of the water activity.

There are no words to explain that feeling of going to bed without him there.

“And then the last words that I said to Ali was just ‘be safe, love you,’ that was it,” she added.

“That was the last words I’ve ever said to him.”

She recalls police being called to the scene, who asked Charlotte to come to the station, but she was so traumatised she begged them to let her go home.

“When I did, I went to bed, I went to bed without him there,” she said.

“That’s something I can never explain, there are no words to explain that feeling of going to bed without him there, knowing what happened.”

With a four-month-old child and thousands of miles away from home, Charlotte went on autopilot to keep herself going for her daughter.

“If I didn’t have her, I think it would have been a lot worse,” she said.

“I wouldn’t have anything to pull me through.”

Now, Charlotte and her daughter, who is almost five, share their life and journey through grief on social media to help others.

It comes after a Brit holidaying in Spain‘s Costa del Sol was also recently killed in a jet-ski accident.

43-year-old Debra Wright was riding a jet-ski when a speedboat crashed into her.

Spanish cops arrested a man described as a friend of the victim after the accident on Saturday night.

He appeared in court on Sunday to face charges of manslaughter and an alcohol-related offence after cops reported he failed a breathalyser test.

Police said the speedboat crashed into the jet-ski at 7.25pm on Saturday at a beach called Los Toros – just west of the popular Spanish holiday resort of Estepona.

Debra is believed to have died at the scene.

Suspect Lerry Gnoli, 54, had been working on a 15-tonne tracked bulldozer after a long evening out on the dunes at the Pinarella di Cervia beach on north-eastern Italy’s Adriatic Coast.

Police have accused him of reversing the deadly vehicle straight over the holidaymaker as she bent down to pick up a shell.

She was crushed to death almost instantly, cops say.

Witnesses say the bulldozer had no warning lights or audible reversing alerts as it ploughed into the retired teacher.

Lucy Letby cops arrest 3 senior members of leadership team at hospital where killer nurse murdered 7 babies

COPS have arrested three people who were in senior leadership roles at the Countess of Chester Hospital when babies were killed by Lucy Letby.

The killer nurse is serving 15 whole-life orders for murdering seven babies in a year-long reign of terror.

Letby, 34, also tried to kill seven others – including one baby twice – at Countess of Chester Hospital.

Cops yesterday arrested three people who worked at the hospital in senior roles in 2015-2016.

They were arrested on suspicion of gross negligence manslaughter and have been bailed.

Detective Superintendent Paul Hughes, Senior Investigating Officer for Operation Duet, said: “In October 2023 following the lengthy trial and subsequent conviction of Lucy Letby, Cheshire Constabulary launched an investigation into corporate manslaughter at the Countess of Chester Hospital.

“This focuses on senior leadership and their decision making to determine whether any criminality has taken place concerning the response to the increased levels of fatalities.

“In March 2025 the scope of the investigation widened to also include gross negligence manslaughter.

“This is a separate offence to corporate manslaughter and focuses on the grossly negligent action or inaction of individuals.

“It is important to note that this does not impact on the convictions of Lucy Letby for multiple offences of murder and attempted murder.

“As part of our ongoing enquiries, on Monday 30th June three individuals who were part of the senior leadership team at the CoCH in 2015-2016, were arrested on suspicion of gross negligence manslaughter.

“All three have subsequently been bailed pending further enquiries.

“Both the corporate manslaughter and gross negligence manslaughter elements of the investigation are continuing and there are no set timescales for these.

“Our investigation into the deaths and non-fatal collapses of babies at the neo-natal units of both the Countess of Chester Hospital and the Liverpool Women’s Hospital between the period of 2012 to 2016 is also ongoing.”

Chilling vid shows shark chase boy, 16, as he was hauled out of water with ‘arm left hanging off by sinew’ after attack

THIS is the unbelievable moment a shark chased a teen as he was hauled out of the water following an attack that left his arm hanging off by sinew.

Emergency services were called to reports of the attack at Cabarita Beach on New South Wales‘ north coast, Australia just before 4pm on Sunday.

The nearly seven-foot beast – suspected to be a bull shark – mauled the right side of the 16-year-old’s body, causing severe injuries to his leg, hand and arm, reports say.

Jaw-dropping footage showed fellow surfers and swimmers rushing to help the teen while the shark lurked closely behind him – visible only by its gargantuan fin.

Screams could be heard in the background as a brave person punched the shark while others scrambled to safety.

But rescuers continued to be stalked by the creature as they carried the injured boy to safety.

One shocked onlooker exclaimed in the clip: “Oh my God, that’s the shark.”

And another said: “Oh f***! That’s really scary!”

Thankfully an off-duty paramedic was at the scene and helped the teen using a tourniquet to help stop the excessive bleeding.

One of the heroes who raced to help the boy after hearing his deafening screams was Brazilian Thiago Collel.

Recalling the horror incident, he explained how the boy sustained injuries that left one of his arms hanging off by a thread of sinew.

The 39-year-old told Daily Mail: “When I got to the shore, he had been dragged in by a group of people including an off-duty paramedic who happened to be walking on the beach at the time.

“His bicep was destroyed – you could see all the muscle, flesh and bone.

“He lost a scary amount of blood. I was covered in it.”

The group then carried the boy out to safety on a surfboard they used as a makeshift stretcher.

Collel said he and several others “were just trying to keep him calm, holding his head and making sure he was okay”.

He added: “I just kept talking to him and he told me how he fought off the shark by kicking and punching it away.”

The boy was then airlifted to Gold Coast University Hospital by the Westpac Rescue Helicopter.

He remains here in serious but stable condition, the news site added.

A second chopper was deployed to track down the shark after the horror incident, but to no avail.

The species of shark currently remains unknown, but locals believe it was a bull shark.

Some even fear it could be a two-metre great white.
