InstagramSonia and husband Arron Machin announced their baby news in February[/caption]
Sonia, who is best known for playing Mel Maguire on the ITV soap, looked adoringly at the newborn in a sweet snap.
She wrote: “Sunday 22nd June at 10:26pm my life became complete. My beautiful boy Carter Benjamin Machin arrived, 7lbs of pure perfection. You are loved more than you will ever know little man.”
Sonia, who is married to Arron Machin, was congratulated on her bundle of joy as her friends and followers took to the comments section underneath the post to send their messages of congratulations.
Corrie stars including Lucy Fallon and Hollyoaks actress Jessica Fox were two of the first to send messages.
Lucy posted: “gorgeous, congratulations xxxxx.”
Jessica wrote: “Ohhhhhh congratulations.”
Chelsee Healey said: “congratulations darling carter is perfect.”
A fan shared: “Aghhhh congratulations Sonia and family! He’s perfect.”
Sonia announced she was expecting her second baby in February, just over three years since the birth of her first child, Sienna.
She had a baby shower with her nearest and dearest three weeks ago, even managing a few dance moves in a figure-hugging cream dress.
Writing at the time, she said: “The most perfect afternoon spent with the most beautiful people showering my little Prince.
“Thank you so much to the kindest, most thoughtful beautiful besties I could wish for organising my baby shower we love you.”
Sonia had memorable moments in Corrie as brainwashed salon assistant Mel.
She kidnapped Bethany Platt, threatening her with a wheel wrench before stuffing her into a car in a bid to stop the schoolgirl testifying against vile groomer Nathan Curtis in court.
Sonia told us at the time: “She knows what all these men are capable of and she’s petrified of them all but she’s in love with Nathan.
“He groomed her from the start; in his eyes, he knew what she wanted from Mel.
“He picked her because Mel doesn’t have a family; she’s a very vulnerable girl, and he knew what he could do to her, so in his eyes, he saw his victim straight away.
After her exit, she said: “It’s been an amazing time, it’s been great to work here.
“The opportunity I’ve had is amazing and it’s just a massive family and everyone’s so welcoming and it’s so nice to work with such great people.”
Last year she starred as school social worker Jamilah Omar for six episodes in Waterloo Road, before moving on to Hollyoaks in November, playing Kat Omari.

“Traffic held now around 18:35.”

The congestion formed after another crash earlier today.
This comes after we reported on a horror bus accident yesterday.
Benoy ArchitectsNottingham Forest have received the green light for a stadium redevelopment[/caption]
Benoy ArchitectsA new stand will be erected costing £130million and boosting capacity to 35,000[/caption]
The huge project costs around £130million — up £36m from its original estimates in 2019.
And Forest’s plans have now been approved by Rushcliffe Borough Council, allowing the club to move forward with building work.
They will now rip down the Peter Taylor Stand and replace it with a new 10,000-seater terrace coming in at 38m high.
That will boost the City Ground’s capacity from 30,000 seats to 35,000.
And it will also inject £13million a year into the local economy by creating hundreds of new jobs.
Forest revealed their “delight at the news” in a statement on Friday.
They added: “We look forward to working closely with our partners on the next steps and will provide a further update in due course.”
The rebuild comes at a perfect time for Forest, who defied expectations to qualify for the Conference League last season.
The City Ground has seen multiple improvements since it opened in 1898, with the last of five rebuilds taking place in 1996.

But once work is done on the new stand, Forest plan on another expansion.
The longer-term plan is to develop the Bridgford Stand, eventually taking the City Ground’s capacity to 40,000.

An apartment block of 169 flats is also in the works to built next door.
But that would not start until 2026 at the earliest.

NINETIES sketch comedy The Fast Show has been given trigger warnings by the BBC — including for one of its infamous Suit You Sir scenes.
The Corporation has flagged up two episodes of Paul Whitehouse and Charlie Higson’s classic series on iPlayer for using “discriminatory language”.
One is for episode five of series three, which aired in December 1997.
It is most likely for a sketch featuring the outspoken tailors asking a customer if they would like to have sex with a “she-male”, with the customer then declaring: “Come on you tr*nnies!”
Episode one of the second series, from February 1996, also has a warning.
That is likely due to a scene featuring the Middle Aged Guys who declare two women who rebuff their advances “lesbians”.
The BBC does not indicate which scenes their trigger warnings apply to. But the notes could also be for the beloved Chanel 9 News skit — delivered with fake Spanish word including “Scorchio”.
All 25 episodes of the Bafta winning show are on iPlayer.
The trigger warnings come after the BBC also slapped notes on The Office and Only Fools and Horses.
In February, Channel 4 was branded “humourless” for flagging a series of Father Ted episodes on its streaming service.
Regulators also hit Graham Linehan’s Bafta-winning sitcom The IT Crowd with advisories, with one telling sensitive viewers: “This episode was made in 2006 and contains strong, strong/offensive derogatory language and adult humour.”
And ITV has slapped 1970s comedy George & Mildred with a similar caution.

Shutterstock EditorialImran Louza wants to leave Watford[/caption]
GettyThe midfielder has fallen out with new boss Paulo Pezzolano[/caption]
Owner Gino Pozzo had been hoping to keep hold of the Moroccan international, along with the likes of Giorgi Chakvetadze and Kwadwo Baah, in an attempt to try and challenge for at least a Championship play-off spot.
But a week into the reign of Pezzolano, Louza has told club officials that he is looking at other options.
Louza joined from Nantes in 2021 for £9million but is now worth about £12m.
He signed a new contract in 2023 with his deal running to 2028.
Louza made 33 appearances, scored twice and picked up five assists last season having improved under Cleverley who left the club at the end of the campaign.
Prior to that, Louza had spent half a season out on loan at Lorient and seemed set to leave Watford.
However, after struggling initially last term Louza flourished under Cleverley, even captaining the team.
Following new boss Pezzolano’s arrival at Vicarage Road last month, Sporting Director Gian Luca Nani said: “Paulo has a hugely impressive track record working with young players, which is essential when you look at the age profile of our squad.

“He has had success at virtually every club, including league titles and promotions, but it is his work on the training ground that impressed the most when we undertook our research.
“He has innovative ideas and processes which he transmits passionately to the players.
“We believe Paulo is the leader we need as we refocus ahead of the new season.
“He is fully aware of our ambitions and determination to push for promotion and embraces that challenge.”

MAX VERSTAPPEN would rather be changing nappies at home than wearing a tuxedo on the red carpet.
They certainly don’t make ‘em like four-time world champion Verstappen anymore, who has been as real as they get this season in the world’s most luxurious sport.

GettyLewis Hamilton was among the superstars at the European premiere in London[/caption]
The Dutchman has swerved two red carpets for Lewis Hamilton’s new Hollywood movie, starring Brad Pitt, and has not even watched the film yet.
He would rather be on dad duties with his two-month old baby Lily, enduring sleepless nights and changing nappies which he admits: “Some are more smelly than others”.
Verstappen has also been dipping his toes in other areas of motorsport, like testing a GT3 in Spa during the first F1 movie premiere in New York as his patience continues to wear thin in F1.
He is focused on his growing family of girlfriend, Kelly, the daughter of former F1 world champion Nelson Piquet, their daughter Lily and his step daughter Penelope, who are based in Monaco.
Verstappen, at the Red Bull Ring ahead of his team’s home race in Austria, told SunSport: “Being authentic is not something I have to try and focus on. It’s just who I am.
“I don’t like to be on the red carpet and dress up in a suit. I don’t like to interact with people that I don’t really know, and have a fake smile and fake chat. It’s horrible, I just don’t enjoy it.
“I prefer to hang out with my friends and spend time with my little family. I also have a lot of other projects going on outside of F1.
“So any extra work like red carpets is not what I want to do. I’m at a stage of my career where I’ve achieved so much professionally.

“I’m just focusing outside of it now, like my big passions to make life more enjoyable and not just being performance driven.”
Verstappen is fiercely private when it comes to his family but when asked about his being a girl dad, he added: “It’s super cute. I’m trying to spend as much time making it all work.
InstagramVerstappen has been cherishing time with his daughter, Lily[/caption]
“With the nappies, some are more smelly than others!”
Verstappen rose to fame as something of a villain due to Netflix’s hit docu-series Drive to Survive.
There is also a dark side there, which was on show at the Spanish Grand Prix three-weeks ago when he rammed into George Russell to leave him one point away from a race ban.
But he has won over more hearts than ever in recent years, being unapologetically himself and unafraid to stand up to the sport’s governing body, the FIA, and its controversial president Mohammed Ben Sulayem.
He even won over his old rival Hamilton when he was ordered to do community service for dropping an F-bomb in an FIA press conference last year.
He has remained tight-lipped in press conferences this season, but his silence has spoken volumes for the dissatisfaction from most drivers towards the FIA’s rules.
He said: “I think it’s a bit of a Dutch thing. I’m straightforward. I’m the same on track. I say the same in the paddock as I do with my friends. It’s important to be honest.
“When I’m not happy with something I say it, I let people know, that approach works really well for me.”
There has been constant speculation surrounding Verstappen’s future with him growing increasingly exasperated with the FIA and the slog of marketing requirements for drivers.
After all he is the centrepiece of a sport stacked with millionaires flashing their cash, designer outfits and superyachts – but Verstappen just loves to burn rubber.
The SunVerstappen spoke to SunSport’s Isabelle Barker this week[/caption]
The Dutchman would rather avoid the spotlight entirely, so much so that he recently used a fake name Franz Hermann to secretly test a Ferrari at the Nurburgring where he smashed a lap record.
Verstappen’s next goal is securing a Nordschleife permit, a special racing license, to compete in events at the Nurburgring, including the Nurburgring 24 Hours, rather than chasing records in F1.
There has been talk of Verstappen taking a year off in 2026 and he says it is outside ventures like the Nurburgring appearance that are keeping him in F1, for now.
He added: “The fake name was because I wouldn’t be on the entry list. People would have known way far in advance and there would be way more people there.
“What I’m doing outside F1 makes me stay around a bit longer in F1. I’m trying to make it work and keep it fun.
“I want to get my license (Nordschleife permit), so I need to do a race in a slower car so I’m planning on that.
“When you do things outside of F1, it’s more relaxed, which doesn’t mean it’s less professional and my desire to win is the same. It’s something I really enjoy exploring.
“It’s important to enjoy my time. Time passes so quickly and I want to look back and be around for my family.”
