Kneecap pack out Glastonbury stage & lead crowd in chants against Keir Starmer as defiant rapper roars ‘I’m a free man’

DEFIANT Kneecap member Mo Chara roared, “Glastonbury, I’m a free man!” as the Irish rap trio took to the West Holts Stage at the festival.

The Gaelgoir group, who hail from Belfast, have been in the headlines after member Liam Og O hAnnaidh, who performs under the name Mo Chara, was charged with a terror offence.

News broadcasts criticising the hip hop trio played from the sound system before they walked onto the stage were booed by the Glastonbury Festival audience.

Access to the area around the West Holts Stage was closed around 45 minutes before their performance after groups of fans arrived to form a sea of Irish and Palestinian flags.

Member Naoise O Caireallain, who performs under the name Moglai Bap, said: “The Prime Minister of your country, not mine, said he didn’t want us to play, so f*** Keir Starmer.”

O hAnnaidh, 27, wore a keffiyeh during the set, while member JJ O Dochartaigh, who performs under the name DJ Provai, wore his signature tri-coloured balaclava as well as a T-shirt that said: “We are all Palestine Action” in reference to the soon-to-be banned campaign group.

Rap punk duo Bob Vylan performed on the stage before Kneecap and led the crowd in chants of “Free, free Palestine” and “Death, death to the IDF”.

In the run up to the festival at Worthy Farm in Somerset, several British politicians called for the group to be removed from the line-up and UK prime minister Keir Starmer said their performance would not be “appropriate”.

Earlier today, the BBC confirmed they would not be live-streaming the set but said the performance is likely to be made available on-demand later.

A BBC spokesperson said: “As the broadcast partner, the BBC is bringing audiences extensive music coverage from Glastonbury, with artists booked by the festival organisers.

“While the BBC doesn’t ban artists, our plans ensure that our programming meets our editorial guidelines.

“We don’t always live-stream every act from the main stages and look to make an on-demand version of Kneecap’s performance available on our digital platforms, alongside more than 90 other sets.”

Earlier the band said on Instagram: “The propaganda wing of the regime has just contacted us….

“They WILL put our set from Glastonbury today on the iPlayer later this evening for your viewing pleasure.”

During their set at Glastonbury today, Mo Chara said: “The BBC editor is going to have some job.”

MORE PERFORMANCES

O hAnnaidh, 27, was charged with allegedly displaying a flag in support of proscribed terrorist organisation Hezbollah, while saying “up Hamas, up Hezbollah” at a gig in November last year.

On June 18th, the rapper was cheered by hundreds of supporters as he arrived with bandmates Naoise O Caireallain and JJ O Dochartaigh at Westminster Magistrates’ Court in Free Mo Chara T-shirts.

Also playing on Saturday afternoon were Leeds rock band Kaiser Chiefs and US star Brandi Carlile, who released an album with Elton John earlier in the year.

Irish singer CMAT, who played the Pyramid Stage on Friday, performed a secret set at the BBC Introducing stage on Saturday.

Neil Young, best known for songs such as Rockin’ In The Free World, Like A Hurricane and Cinnamon Girl, headlined the Pyramid Stage on Saturday night with his band the Chrome Hearts.

The BBC broadcast Young’s set after previously saying it would not be shown “at the artist’s request”.

Two more arrested in terror probe of Palestine Action’s reckless RAF Brize Norton vandalism

TWO more people have been arrested in a terror probe after Palestine Action’s RAF Brize Norton vandalism.

Counter Terrorism officers have arrested two more men after aircraft were damaged in Oxfordshire.

Two men, aged 22 and 24, both from London, were arrested on suspicion of the commission, preparation or instigation of acts of terrorism.

The arrests, which took place this afternoon, come after damage was caused to two aircraft at RAF Brize Norton on June 20.

On Thursday, a 29-year-old woman and two men aged 36 and 24, both from London, were also arrested in connection with this investigation.

Video posted online last week showed two yobs from Palestine Action vandalising Voyager aircraft at the base.

In the clip, one protester can be seen moving towards an Airbus Voyager air-to-air refuelling tanker while on an electric scooter.

The activist then appears to spray red paint into the rear of one of the aircraft’s two engines.

Moving the spout of the repurposed fire extinguisher around the rim of the jet engine, red paint can be seen sprayed deep into the aircraft.

Then, a loud thumping sound loud thumping sound can be heard as the camera pans to the activist’s scooter – also showing red paint on the tarmac next to the aircraft at the Oxfordshire base.

It is unclear if this sound is what the group claims was “crowbar” damage to the aircraft or just another form of damage to the engines.

The pair of activists can then be seen roaming free across the grounds of the airbase on electric scooters as they “evaded security”.

The MoD has slammed the “vandalism of Royal Air Force assets” in a scathing statement.

Brize Norton is the largest RAF airbase and home to more than 6,000 military and civilian personnel as well as the UK’s largest military aircraft.

A spokeswoman for the ministry said: “Our armed forces represent the very best of Britain.

“They put their lives on the line for us, and their display of duty, dedication and selfless personal sacrifice are an inspiration to us all.

“It is our responsibility to support those who defend us.”

Prime Minister Keir Starmer condemned the attack as “disgraceful”.

In a post on social media condemning the UK’s military action in the Middle East, Palestine Action referenced RAF flights over Gaza departing from the force’s base – RAF Akrotiri – in Cyprus.

It also claimed its activists had put the supply planes “out of service” while managing to “evade security and arrest”.

The Ministry of Defence has said it was working closely with the police, who are investigating.

Enquiries are ongoing at this time.

Rihanna stuns as she shows off baby bump in sexy black body suit at Paris Fashion Week

RIHANNA lets rip in a slashed black body suit as she supports A$AP Rocky at Paris Men’s Fashion Week.

The US singer, 37, pregnant with the couple’s third child, looked swell at the show for the 36-year-old rapper’s AWGE clothing.

Last month, she posed in lingerie from her Savage x Fenty brand and told fans she was playing “hide the baby bump”.

May also saw the singer dazzle in a last-minute Met Gala red carpet dash just hours after revealing she was pregnant.

The Savage x Fenty mogul strutted into The Carlyle hotel on Monday while debuting her growing bump with a form-fitting outfit.

Rihanna, who is already mom to sons RZA, 2, and Riot, 1, with her rapper partner A$AP Rocky, arrived at the famous New York City hotel in a gray top and skirt with matching boots.

The music icon then stole the show in a stunning black pinstripe suit as she arrived at the famed art gallery shortly after 10pm.

A$AP Rocky confirmed the news, telling the Associated Press: “It feels amazing, you know.

“It’s time that we show the people what we was cooking up, and I’m glad everybody’s happy for us, ’cause we definitely happy, you know’.”

The singer had sparked pregnancy rumors by appearing to hide a bump under baggy clothes.

At a Fenty Beauty event in Paris on Friday, April 4, she wore a very voluminous gold gown, and even held a newspaper in front of her stomach as cameras flashed.

Days later, she wore an oversized gray hoodie sweatshirt during a grocery shopping trip in Los Angeles.

In March, she wore a big blue jacket over a sexy see-through skirt as she watched A$AP Rocky perform in LA.

Paul Pogba seals return to football after doping ban as ex-Man Utd star joins Ligue 1 side Monaco

PAUL POGBA is finally back in football.

And having ended his 18-month doping ban at the age of 32, the ex-Manchester United midfielder has joined a club in home country France for the first time ever.

Monaco have signed the 2018 World Cup winner on a two-year contract.

The former Juventus hero last played in September 2023 but insists he “still feels like a kid”.

Pogba was suspended following a random drug test after the Italian giants played Udinese on the first day of the 2023-24 season.

He was banned for four years but that was slashed by 30 months on appeal last October.

The four-time Serie A winner pledged to ultimately resume playing.

However, Pogba’s contract with Juve was terminated by mutual consent last November.

Two months after that, he appeared to hint at a THIRD spell with the Red Devils.

Pogba teased United fans with an Instagram post.

He shared a cartoon drawing of himself next to Old Trafford ace Amad Diallo – with BOTH players in Red Devils’ kit.

Pogba sent speculation spiralling by adding the words: “Let’s see what’s coming…”

He’s been free to find a new team since March this year.

And it’s understood he hoped to attract interest from the Bundesliga as well as Juve’s major rivals in Serie A.

Instead, however, Ligue 1 runners-up Monaco have swooped.

The Old Trafford academy product left United for his first stint with Juve in 2012.

Four glittering years later, Pogba returned to the Red Devils for a then-British record fee of £89million.

But his Premier League form was more erratic than electric.

Pogba did help Jose Mourinho’s Red Devils win both the Europa League and League Cup in 2016-17.

But he reunited with Juve via a four-year deal and free transfer in July 2022, only to fail a drug test 13 months later

He was found to have taken banned substance  dehydroepiandrosterone, which boosts testosterone and can improve endurance.

But Pogba’s suspension was cut last autumn when the Court of Arbitration for Sport accepted his case it “was not intentional”.

Now the 91-cap star is revving up for a top-level return.

Just days ago, as he neared his move to Monaco, Pogba said: “II’m mentally and physically ready, and I’m eager to start again.

“I’m 32, but I still feel like a kid.”

Pogba also criticised Juve for rejecting his pleas for help.

He told French TV channel TF1: “I asked to get a fitness coach. I had the right, and I was always part of the team.

“They were not very kind to me, they did not support me, and I was shocked. I did not understand why.”

“I thought I was at war with anti-doping authorities.”

The hate mail came just weeks after The Sun on Sunday revealed Gemma was forced to call the cops over another “abusive and menacing” letter.

A source said: “The package was really scary and she was terrified to receive it.

“It was delivered by the postman, but had no postage stamp on it.

“Gemma was worried as it contained rat poison, especially as she has animals at her home.”

Gemma, who lives with businessman fiancé Rami Hawash, has since beefed up security with 24-hour guard dog patrols.

The source added she has passed on details of the latest incident to cops, who she had been already in contact with over the previous hate letter.

They said: “They’ve been fantastic and have some new leads.

“She’s trying not to let it get to her too much and doing her best to focus on summer projects.”

Gemma told a podcast in May she has had multiple stalkers over the years.

They threatened to kill her and sent letters to her boutique store in Essex — leading her to quit front-of-house work.

A spokesman for Gemma declined to comment. But sources confirmed she is in contact with cops.

Essex Police were approached for comment.

Indiyah Polack, 26, rose to fame in the eighth series of the long-running dating show in 2022.

She came in third place with her fellow co-star and has gone on to have a huge career outside the villa.

The reality personality is the co-host of the official podcast, Love Island: The Morning After with fellow former islander Amy Hart.

Any contestant competing on the show follows a strict set of rules that have been put in place by the producers.

“But we found out it was real and necked the whole bottle. It was fun for our first date!”

Because of this rule, the star admitted that the raucous group parties that are depicted on the show are far more tame in real life.

When asked about the villa garden parties, she exclaimed: “No they are not as fun as they look – shout out love island for making them look so fun!

“We’re probably dancing for like 10 minutes and then we have to go and get on with our chats.

The star also admitted that she is still close to a number of stars from her series of Love Island.

When asked who she would invite to a reunion, she admitted: “Probably Ekin, Tasha, Andrew – even though he and Tasha aren’t together anymore – he is a great guy.

She continued: “Jacques [too], Ikenna I’m still close to, surprisingly, and he’s friends with Dami.
