My 10p fake tan setting hack stops it being sticky in SECONDS – it’s so good it feels illegal, but it’s not

IF sitting in the glorious sun is not an option for you, you’ll know that you can buy a tan in a bottle.

But while nothing is better than waking up to a bronzed complexion after sleeping in fake tan, there’s also nothing worse than that sticky feeling – especially when the nights are so hot.

One Aussie whizz shared how a popular haircare buy can stop your fake tan from feeling sticky[/caption]

You’ll be pleased to know that you can find the remedy for as little as £1.29[/caption]

Luckily, one beauty buff, Indi Miles, has come up with just the right solution – and it costs just 10p per use.

What’s more, not only will it stop you from feeling grim and aching to jump into the shower for a rinse – you may already have the secret ingredient.

But if you don’t, you’ll be pleased to know that you can find the remedy for as little as £1.29.

Dropping the knowledge bombs on social media, the “pale skin girl” and founder of Romiie Tan, Indi shared her tip to banish that sticky feeling for good using nothing but dry shampoo.

The young beauty shared online: ”I’ve seen this all over TikTok that if you use dry shampoo after you’ve put the tan on it will set it.”

Indi, from Australia, then proceeded to spray a little of the haircare product onto her freshly-tanned legs, joking that it ”feels illegal”.

But despite the odd sensation, the Aussie stunner was amazed to discover that the hack had worked like a charm.

Giving her legs a pat with her hand, Indi exclaimed: ”It doesn’t even feel like I’ve put anything on.”

In the clip, Indi also then showed her fingertips after touching the tan – and there was no dark brown residue on her skin.

”Guys, can confirm – it works.”

The trick, perfect for ”lazy gals”, has since taken the platform by storm, winning the Aussie close to 86k views, 580 likes, 193 shares and dozens of comments.

One fake tan lover warned: ”I tried it, sprayed out white and wrecked my tan. Make sure you do it from a distance.”

Someone else was keen to give it a go, writing: ”Haven’t seen this hack Will have to try it.”

A third shared their go-to method, commenting: ”I just blast myself with a hairdryer.”

”I put talc all over, works a treat,” a fourth penned.

Superdrug Solait Self Tan Mousse Medium – £4.79 (was £5.99) Buy Now

  • Tester: Abby Wilson, Senior Fabulous Digital Writer
  • Review: “This product give a very natural looking tan and if you wanted something a bit bolder, I’d suggest leaving it on longer or choosing a darker shade. I’m impressed with the results, but now my entire room stinks of the stuff.  If you’re on a budget and want a tan for last-minute plans, I would say this is one to try. “

bBold Dream Mousse Tan in Dark – £9.50 Buy Now

  • Tester: Josie O’Brien, Senior Fabulous Digital Writer
  • Review: “The first thing that hit me about this tan was the “juicy watermelon” scent – it’s delicious. I was left with a natural bronze hue rather than orange glow. My only qualm is that the tan seemed to stick to my dry patches and accentuated ‘strawberry skin’ on my legs. I’m still adding this tan to my arsenal though – the smell, colour and texture are dreamy.”

St Moriz Professional Medium Tanning Mousse – £4.99 – Buy Now

  • Tester:  Kate Kulniece, Fabulous Writer
  • Review: “Not only does St. Moriz mousse leave you with a gorgeous bronzed glow, but it also smells fabulous – think Piña Colada on a sunny beach. At first, I was a little bit sceptical cause I’m a gradual fake tan girlie, but this quick developing St. Moriz number may change it all.”

This walnut product is receiving rave reviews for giving the “perfect fake tan base”[/caption]

Your pre-fake tan prep is just as important as the application itself.

Prepping your skin can also help your faux tan last longer.

Exfoliating removes dead skin cells that can cause the tan to fade more quickly, while moisturised skin will hold the colour better.

The tanning experts at Skinny Tan have claimed that its Pre-Tan Primer is all you need for a fruitful pre-tan routine.

“This essential step exfoliates and smooths your skin, creating the perfect canvas for an even tan,” they explained.

“Infused with crushed walnut shell, it gently buffs away dead skin cells.

“This leaves your skin silky smooth and ready to absorb the tanning goodness.

You get 125ml of the gentle scrub for £11.99.

And with an average of 10 uses per tube, that works out at £1.20 per use.

The hero ingredient of the scrub is Apricot Seed Powder.

“Our natural exfoliating ingredient gently buffs away dull, dead skin cells leaving smooth skin ready for tanning,” Skinny Tan bosses explained.

Final camogie group games sets up exciting quarter-final clashes as Galway right last year’s wrongs

NIAMH Mallon admits Galway’s experience of the All-Ireland senior camogie quarter-finals last year made them intent on winning their group this year.

Galway topped Group 2 after claiming a 0-17 to 0-11 win over Waterford on Saturday at Kenny Park in Athenry. And that sealed their place in the last four — having failed to automatically qualify last year.

Dublin won their first group game against Derry

The Tribes lost to Cork in their group finale 12 months ago to set up a quarter-final with the Déise that they had to dig deep in before winning 1-12 to 1-9.

Mallon and Co eventually made the Croke Park final last year but were undone — again — by old foes Cork. But last year is forgotten about and the Maroon are back in the semi-final.

And Mallon — who is now looking forward to an extended spell of preparation — said: “We learned a lot from last year.

“We got turned over by Cork in the last group game this time last year and we had to go to Croke Park the following week and win a quarter-final.

“We wanted to try to avoid that this year. It was probably unspoken but it was something we probably wanted to do and thankfully we have. We have four weeks now of training to prepare for an All-Ireland semi-final.”

Classy forward Mallon slotted over four points in the six-point win over Waterford. And she was aided by skipper Carrie Dolan who also recorded nine points.

But it was a tight game that the Tribes only won late on with the teams level at 0-11 apiece with four minutes of normal time remaining.

And Dolan said: “We came here to get a result and we got it. We knew we had our work cut out for us. It was a draw coming down the home stretch but our girls pushed on and got the next few scores.”

Waterford’s first defeat of the campaign means they play Clare in the first of next weekend’s two quarter-finals.

The Déise will face the Banner at 2.30pm on Saturday at GAA HQ as part of a double-header with the All-Ireland SHC semi- final involving Cork and Dublin.

But Clare will need to improve having been blitzed by Tipperary in a 4-17 to 0-10 defeat at The Ragg.

The Premier will face Kilkenny in their last-eight clash at GAA HQ on Sunday at 1.30pm as a result of their win.

The tie will be the curtain-raiser to the All-Ireland SHC semi between the two counties.

And Tipp boss Denis Kelly will be delighted with how his side dismantled the Banner as they head into that clash. Mary Burke and Casey Hennessy shared the goals between them and Grace O’Brien registered eight points.

But neighbours Kilkenny will be expected to represent a stronger level of opposition.

Kelly said: “It was good to get a performance and a good score.”

TIPP TURNAROUND

And the Premier chief admits he is delighted with how his side bounced back from their humbling 3-21 to 1-9 loss to Cork last month.

He added: “We got a bit of a knock-back with Cork at the start but it was probably the best time to get it. We’ve been improving since so we’re happy enough with where we’re at.

“Kilkenny will be a big step-up again the next day but we’re looking forward to it.”

And with his county set to bring a big crowd to Croker for the hurling semi-final, Kelly hopes his team gets backed.

He added: “We haven’t had massive support this year with the way the Championship is condensed.

“There’s a lot of hurling and other games on, which take supporters out. But it’ll be different in Croke Park.”

Meanwhile, Amy O’Connor hit 3-5 as Cork beat Wexford 5-21 to 0-11 at Wexford Park. Saoirse McCarthy and Clodagh Finn also raised green flags for the Munster side.

Dublin also recorded their first win of the Championship over Derry to ensure their senior status.

Like O’Connor, Emma Flanagan was in hat-trick scoring form for the Sky Blues. Aisling Maher also clocked up 2-7 and Kerrie Finnegan helped herself to a brace of scores.

That added up to a 7-19 to 1-11 victory over a lifeless Oak Leaf at Parnell Park. Jackie Donnelly hit 1-2 for the Ulster side but they will now focus on playing Wexford in a straight fight to avoid relegation.

‘Disgusting – I’m switching off’ rant Love Island fans as villa boys turn on Shakira

LOVE Island fans furiously slammed the villa boys as they turned on Shakira Khan during last night’s installment.

The ITV2 show came under fire following the show’s snog, marry, pie challenge, which saw Shakira, 22, targeted by multiple male islanders – including Ben Holbrough, 23.

Love Island fans furiously slammed the villa boys as they turned on Shakira Khan[/caption]

After smearing a cream pie in her face, the taxi driver had told her: “So, I think you and your friends’ attitude actually stinks.

“I think you always try and get yourself caught up in everyone else’s business, shouting across the garden, being a mouthy when we called it on day one.

“I just think you’re not the kind of girl I go for.”

Shakira responded by calling him a “d******d”.

Furious viewers described the scenes as “hard to watch”, saying it felt like a coordinated attack on the marketing engineer.

Taking to a Reddit forum, one asked: “What are your opinions on Shakira getting pied today ? do you think it was deserved?

“I’m surprised Shakira sticking up for her friends has backfired on her so badly wheras there’s no backfire for Meg when she said ‘it’d be funny if Harry goes back to helena so Shakira looks stupid.'”

Someone else added: “Men always turn on women they feel attracted to who’ve slightly rejected them. They cope with rejection by turning it into anger and disgust.”

Fans also questioned why Shakira was being singled out for speaking up, when other contestants like Meg faced no consequences for her comment.

Another said: “I’m surprised Shakira sticking up for her friends has backfired on her so badly, whereas there’s no backlash for Meg.”

A fourth chimed in with: “The way she reacted is how people react when they’re being bullied. It was uncomfortable to watch.”

Ben, in particular, faced sharp criticism, with some labelling him “a prime example” of the behaviour they felt had made the moment feel unnecessarily cruel.

One more concluded: “It makes me question whether I should actually watch this show. When a principled, self-assured, intelligent woman gets beaten down by awful men for calling out bad behaviour – it’s genuinely upsetting.”

Gloucester-based Ben was originally paired with Mancunian beauty Shakira, but their relationship was rocky from the outset as she constantly questioned their chemistry.

Earlier in the series, she was accused of leading Ben on – but during a later installment, dumped him outright.

Shakira gave a range of reasons for her decision, including telling Ben that he “dulled my sparkle.”

“We don’t speak of anything of note,” she told him as the pair argued.

Fans watching at home noticed that Ben looked devastated during the chat, but then thought it was bizarre that he outwardly agreed with Shakira’s reasoning.

“Nah Ben looked like he was abt to cry when Shakira said he dulled her sparkle,” one Love Island fan wrote on X, formerly Twitter.

Another added with a meme of a someone wearing multiple masks: “Ben telling Shakira he’s on the same page as her.”

And a third wrote alongside a skull emoji: “Ben pretending he felt the same way as Shakira.”

A fourth person commented: “Talk about different pages… not sure Shakira and Ben are even in the same book.”

Even though she’s now flying solo in the Love Island casa, Shakira may be rekindling her fling with Harry after the pair had a conversation about their future.

“I wanted to see how you were feeling, I think initially you were number one and I f****d it,” Harry told her.

They also discussed his romantic indecision as he is paired up with Helena, but also seems interested in Yasmin as well.

Shakira told Harry: “It was you, and still is you. But it’s your behaviour for me that I can’t tolerate.”

And Harry pressed her for the potential for a second chance: “If that could possibly be arranged?”

He also told Shakira: “You’re the one,” despite his moves on Yasmin and Helena.

Aldi’s £19 middle aisle buy helps give instant privacy to your garden and helps sun-trapped spaces stay cool this summer

Aldi is selling a £19.99 middle aisle bargain that will add instant privacy to your garden and help you keep cool.

With temperatures set to reach 35C today, Brits across the country are likely making plans to soak up the sun in the garden.

Beige garden wing tarp.
Aldi
The tarp adds privacy, and will also keep you cool[/caption]

However, there’s nothing worse than sitting outside with a glass of wine and a good book, only to realise that your nosy neighbour is peeking at you over the fence.

Putting up a large fence around your garden may seem like the obvious choice to keep away prying eyes, but this can be expensive – and can sometimes lead to disagreements with neighbours.

For a simple solution, Aldi’s Garden Wing Tarp can be tied across your garden or patio to instantly shield it from peeping neighbours.

The middle aisle bargain will land in stores on Thursday, July 3 and comes in two different shapes, triangle or rectangle.

Shoppers can choose from a beige or navy colour, and the tarp is water repellent, so you don’t have to worry about taking it inside during bad weather.

The 415 x 415 x 415cm tarp can also be used to shade your garden from the sun, meaning you can relax in the garden without getting too hot.

However, shoppers better set their alarms to avoid missing out on the bargain, as with all Specialbuys, once they’re gone, they’re gone.

More Privacy Screens

Shein’s Artifical Ivy Privacy Fence can keep snoopers out for just £8.

The fence, which has been slashed from its original price of £11.25, features a stylish green leaf design, that will blend in to your garden’s greenery.

And the purse-friendly buy isn’t the only privacy screen you can buy on Shein at the moment.

The e-commerce site’s High Strength Privacy Fence is priced at just £7.75, and comes in a wide range of colours, including brown and green.

B&Q’s Lifelike Grape Leaf Foldable Artificial Green Wall is another penny-pincher friendly buy perfect for keeping your garden secluded.

The stylish screen comes in a realistic leaf design, perfect for blending in to your greenery.

Plus, the product has been made with premium wood and weather resistant plastic, making it extra durable – so you don’t have to worry about it coming down in windy or rainy conditions.

How to create privacy in your garden

CREATING privacy in your garden can be achieved in a number of ways depending on your budget, and the size of your space. Here are some effective ways to enhance privacy in your garden:

1. Fencing

  • Install a tall, solid wooden or vinyl fence. This is one of the most straightforward ways to gain immediate privacy. Or use lattice panels, trellis, or slatted fencing to add a decorative touch while still offering privacy.

2. Hedges and Plants

  • Fast-growing evergreen shrubs or trees like Leylandii, Thuja, or Bamboo along the boundary of your garden can help with privacy. Grow a dense hedge using plants like Boxwood, Privet, or Laurel. It may take time to grow, but it provides a natural and green privacy screen. Use climbers like Ivy, Clematis, or Wisteria on fences or trellises to create a lush, green privacy barrier.

3. Outdoor Curtains

  • Hang outdoor curtains around pergolas, gazebos, or patios for an easy-to-adjust privacy solution.

4. Sound Barriers

  • A water fountain or small waterfall can help drown out noise, adding to the sense of privacy. Or install fencing designed to reduce noise if privacy from sound is also a concern.

A product description reads: “Bring refreshing greenery to your outdoor décor with this artificial hedge panel.

“Designed for versatility, it works as a fence screen, wall décor, or garden hedge.

“Its durable construction offers UV protection, while the breathable design ensures proper airflow.

“Perfect for balconies, patios, or terraces, it combines beauty and practicality without the need for ongoing maintenance.”

However, the privacy screen is only available online, so you will have to order it via the B&Q website instead of heading to your local store if you are keen to snap up the bargain.

Wimbledon fans told ‘DO NOT TRAVEL’ with queue already full on 33C hottest opening day ever

WIMBLEDON have told fans NOT to travel to the tennis today due to large numbers of people already waiting in the Queue.

At 7.30am this morning – three-and-a-half hours before play starts on the outside courts – an update was issued on the official Wimbledon website.

Thousands of people have been queuing for ground passes since the break of dawn – others even slept overnight in tents for the best possible spot – and by breakfast time, it had already reached capacity.

And with the temperature set to reach 33C this afternoon – if that happens it would make it the hottest opening-day for the Championships in history – there are concerns about punters falling ill.

A statement on the Wimbledon website said: “Please be aware that the Queue for Day 1 – Monday 30th June – is very busy.

“And to avoid disappointment we strongly advise you not to travel to the Grounds today.

“Please note there is hot weather forecast for Monday and Tuesday.

“In both The Queue and the Grounds there may be periods where shade is not available.

“Please plan appropriately, including bringing water, suncream and a hat.

“Water refill points are available in the Queue and around the Grounds.”

There were also reports of TFL staff telling fans at Earl’s Court Station – which runs the District Line down to Southfields and Wimbledon stations – not to travel.

Fans were given a shock when they were told to stay away from SW19 as it is already “at capacity”.

Wimbledon 2025 LIVE – follow all the latest scores and updates from a thrilling fortnight at SW19

An announcement over the PA system put a dampener on any excitement about watching tennis later today by telling travellers before 9am that the area was incredibly busy.

The Queue offers fans the chance to buy limited Show Court tickets or a Grounds pass, which are sold on a best available, one per person queuing basis.

A total of 500 tickets for Centre Court – excluding the last four days – No1 Court and No2 Court are available for the days that the courts are in play.

More than 40,000 punters are expected to be passing through the gates with former US Open champion Emma Raducanu one of 14 Brits in action.

The previous highest temperature for the first day was 29.3C, which was recorded in 2001.

Inside Aidan O’Brien’s life beyond horse racing with wife and children including trainer son Joseph

AIDAN O’Brien marked his latest career milestone over the weekend as Lambourn became the 20th horse to complete the Anglo-Irish double.

Aidan, 55, was joined in the celebratory scenes at the Curragh’s winners enclosure by wife Ann-Marie.

Son Joseph, 32, is a rising star as a trainer[/caption]

Here, SunSport delves into his life beyond the race track with Ann-Marie and their four children.

WHERE IS AIDAN O’BRIEN FROM?

The Ballydoyle handler hails from County Wexford though his yard is actually located in Tipperary near Rosegreen. It is owned by John Magnier and Coolmore Stud.

He was born on October 16 1969 as one of six kids. His dad Denis was involved in the racing industry but only as a small-time trainer with his day job being farming.

Aidan went to secondary school at New Ross’ Good Counsel College. Interestingly, he’s been a proud pioneer since his teenage days and has always abstained from alcohol.

WHO IS AIDAN O’BRIEN’S WIFE?

He and Anne-Marie tied the knot in 1991. They have four children with racing fans needing no introduction to son Joseph who at 32, has already established himself as a quality trainer in his own right.

But their three other offspring in son Donnacha and daughters Sarah Anastasia have also been jockeys before so the whole family is steeped in the sport.

Aidan is no relation to Irish racing icon Vincent O’Brien who dominated on both sides of the Irish Sea before Aidan took over the Ballydoyle stables after he retired in 1994.

PERSONAL INSIGHTS

The flat legend largely keeps his private life just that.

But in a rare feature interview last year with the Daily Mail he allowed one of their reporters to follow him around for a day Ballydoyle.

In the piece he’s compared to Pep Guardiola due to his renowned attention to detail.

But days of failure still come such as City of Troy’s flop in the 2024 Breeders’ Cup Classic.

Asked how he deals with setbacks like that, O’Brien emphasized compartmentalising is a crucial aspect of the racing game since it is such a relentless calendar.

He outlined: “Look, when the day is bad like that, I get on the plane and I sleep. That’s the first thing, to cut myself off.

“When I get home, I’ll have two or three hours work to do in the yard and set up tomorrow morning.

“That takes me to bed time. I’ll go straight to sleep and when I get up, I never thinking about yesterday. It’s gone.

“By thinking about it, you’re not going to get it back. You have to get focused on the days in front and learn from the things we need to be working on.

“I can sleep no problem. If you don’t sleep, the next day you’ll be destroyed and the reason I would sleep is to let your mind heal, relax and go on.

“If you start off the day after not sleeping it’s going to be a disaster the next day and that’s a little bit of a strange thing that I’ve done over the years.”

Drivers warned to take three items out of car TODAY – & expert reveals best spot to leave them if you can’t

Smartphone in car next to ocean.

DRIVERS need to be on red alert if they’re leaving gadgets in their car today.

Fire safety experts have told The Sun that there are three items you must take out of your car as the UK basks in an ongoing heatwave.

Leaving your phone in the car – and especially in direct sunlight – is a bad idea[/caption]

Like phones, laptops also have lithium ion batteries inside[/caption]

Heading down to the beach is great fun – but consider taking your gadgets with you and not leaving them in the car[/caption]

Thousands of Brits flocked to beaches over the weekend, and Monday is set to be a scorcher – with temperatures rising as high as 34C or 35C in parts of Britain.

But as Brits park up to enjoy the sunny weather, it’s important to remember not to leave gadgets in the car.

Fire experts named three gadgets in particular to be careful with.

“Most devices that we use every day, phones, power banks, laptops etc have batteries containing lithium-ion,” a spokesperson for Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue Service told The Sun.

“If exposed to high temperatures, they can go into thermal runaway, which is where they become volatile and can explode and start a fire.

“Although this usually happens if they are over-charged, being exposed to prolonged heat can also cause this.”

HEAT HURT

It’s not just a fire risk either: heat can damage your devices.

That includes permanently shorting the battery life of your smartphone.

If that happens, you’ll have to charge your mobile more often – and there’s no way to fix it other than by replacing the battery, or upgrading to a newer model.

“The interior of a car on a hot day is almost like a greenhouse, trapping heat and causing temperatures to climb high,” the fire service told The Sun.

“Even if it doesn’t lead to thermal runaway, prolonged heat exposure can also impact the performance of the battery and shorten its life.”

CAR ‘LAST RESORT’

The official advice is to take gadgets with you rather than leave them in a car.

But if you’re pulling up at the beach and want to go for a dip, it can be difficult to avoid.

If there’s no possible alternative, the fire service revealed one of the best places in your car to place a gadget as a last resort.

Close-up of gray velour back seats in a car.
Getty
Placing gadgets under the seats is one of of avoiding letting them get too hot, experts say – but it’s a last resort option and not as safe as bringing them with you[/caption]

“We would always recommend taking any devices that you need with you and not leaving them in a vehicle,” the fire service told us.

“If you do need to, think about where you park and try and find shaded areas.

“You can also think about where you leave the devices, for instance in the cooler parts of a car like under a seat.”

But you’re better off bringing your precious gadgets with you, if that’s an option.

Why does heat damage batteries?

Here's what you need to know...

  • Hot temperatures can cause permanent damage to batteries
  • That’s because batteries contain fluids, and work through chemical reactions
  • When heat is applied to a battery, the fluid inside starts to evaporate
  • This damages the internal structure of the battery
  • Components like the voltage indicator can be affected by heat
  • This can allow batteries to charge at too high a rate, which can lead to a loss of electrolytes

Britain is tipped to be hotter than Ibiza today, a holiday hotspot with a temperature of 29C forecast.

“It is a hot picture as we move across England and Wales, particularly towards the southeast where temperatures could be around 34C or maybe even 35C,” said meterologist Greg Dewhurst.

He added: “The heat of the day could spark one or two heavy showers across eastern England as we move through the afternoon into the evening.”

It means Wimbledon is set for its hottest opening day ever on Monday.
