A LEGENDARY British Indie band is returning for their 15th album – and shared memories of their near 40-year career with Chris Moyles.
At the height of their fame in the 90s, this group shot through the charts with their tracks including If You Tolerate This Your Children Will Be Next, A Design For Life and You Stole The Sun From My Heart.
Now, the Manic Street Preachers are still going, but were completely unrecognisable as they appeared on Radio X on Monday.
James Dean Bradfield, 55, and Nicky Wire, 56, the lead singer and guitarist of the group, appeared on the show and discussed the ups and downs of their career so far – including touring with Oasis when the Gallagher brothers were at war with each other.
Nicky explained: “We were touring with them in America when they sort of cancelled the tour halfway through, which was brilliant.
“There was so much jeopardy and anxiety, and they were really, excitingly, on the edge.”
James added that it “wasn’t them falling apart for once” on the chaotic experience.
Reflecting on the secret to their longevity, James explained: “I think it’s a famous Orson Welles quote where he kind of said, ‘Some days acting is like driving a tricycle through a barrel full of molasses’.
“Some days it’s just rubbish. It is. But you know that if you just hang in there, keep in the game, stay in the game, the good days will just come. It’s as simple as that, really.”
“I’m not trying to be wise or… I’m not trying to be David Carradine wandering through the desert with a bit of wisdom,” he added. “But, kind of, if you just hang in there, it comes, you know?”
Over the course of the past nearly 40 years, the band have had notable bizarre experiences, including the mysterious disappearance of their guitarist and singer-songwriter, Richey Edwards in 1995.
To date, it’s still not known what happened to him.
James, Nicky and Sean Moore have remained with the band since they first got together in 1986, with a rotating group of touring musicians playing alongside them.
The band are now set to head out on tour, starting at Glasgow Barrowland on 11th April, playing through to Swansea Arena on 18th May.
AS we grow older, it’s natural to notice a few extra lines on our faces that weren’t there the year before.
With countless potions and lotions on the market, it can be overwhelming to figure out what actually works and what doesn’t.
And with the cost-of-living crisis tightening its grip on our purses, testing every product out there isn’t always an option.
Facials and cosmetic treatments can be just as pricey, leaving many searching for affordable alternatives.
However, one expert has revealed a simple anti-ageing trick that won’t cost you a penny.
The woman, known as ‘Wonderfacefit’ on TikTok, recently shared a video on her social media page, claiming that her beauty hack can deliver visible results in just 14 days.
Speaking to camera whilst demonstrating her trick, she says: “If you got droopy cheeks, no worries, we’re gonna fix that.
“Fill your mouth with air as if you want to rinse it.
“Push the air down to tighten the lower muscles of your cheeks.
“Swipe from right to the left.
“Continue doing it for 50 seconds and enjoy how your cheeks get lifted.”
In the caption of the video, she continues to explain her instructions in more depth.
She wrote: “Keep your back straight, relax your neck, train your face muscles.
“Due to excessive tension in the neck, poor posture, and weakening muscles, our skin begins to sag.
“By training certain muscle groups, we strengthen them and lift the skin along with them.”
Her video gained 21,000 likes with many people rushing to the comments section to ask questions, and share their thoughts.
One commented: “Doesn’t that just stretch it more and make it worse?”
But the beauty expert replied with: “Nope, we tighten the face muscles through the resistance to become thicker and stronger.”
Whilst others simply “thanked” her for sharing the hack.
Face The Future’s Head of Clinic, Kimberley Medd, shared the five skincare trends predicted to take off in 2025.
1. Exosomes
Exosomes are the buzzword for 2025, taking advanced skin regeneration to new heights. These micro-messengers signal skin cells to repair damage, boost collagen, and accelerate recovery, and they’re a gamechanger for targeting ageing.
2. Streamlined Skincare
The age of 12-step routines is fading as consumers shift to more intentional, multi-functional products. Streamlining skincare not only saves time but also reduces the risk of overloading your skin. In 2025, we’ll see a rise in hybrid products that combine active ingredients for simplified, effective results.
3. Vegan Collagen
Plant-based collagen will dominate the skincare world this year, providing a sustainable, ethical alternative to traditional animal-derived collagen. Expect vegan collagen in everything from moisturisers to serums.
4. The Rise Of AI
AI is revolutionising the beauty landscape, making it possible for consumers to get truly personalised skincare solutions. In 2025, we predict a dramatic shift towards AI-powered tools that help people understand their skin on a deeper level.
5. Hair Loss Solutions –
Hair loss is an issue that affects more men than we often realise, and it’s no longer just something we’re talking about behind closed doors. This year, expect to see a continued rise in demand for treatments that not only tackle hair loss but also nurture overall scalp health.
