‘This is a really good deal’ people cry as Tommee Tippee kit launches in Home Bargains for almost a third of the price
MANY new parents will know that buying baby supplies isn’t always cheap.
However, one shopper shared how they spotted that a Tommee Tippee kit has landed in Home Bargains for a third of the price.

The bargain hunter posted a photo of their First Tastes weaning starter kit, which was priced at just £5.99.
On the Home Bargain sign it said that the pack is usually priced at £15.99, meaning you save £9.01.
Included in the kit is a Roll ‘n’ Go bib comes with a crumb catcher.
It also has a number of Easiscoop feeding bowls, which stack inside each other to save on space.
They are said to be safe to use in the microwave, and BPA free – as well as being dishwasher safe.
There are also a number of ergonomically shaped spoons which are “easy to hold, without getting your fingers messy.”
The Tommee Tippee website says: “Our Softee weaning spoon is the perfect choice for their first adventures into solid food.
“The smooth, flexible tip is specially designed for tiny mouths – it tips food gently onto their mouth and is super soft on tender gums. The extra-long handle makes scooping and feeding easy.”
Meanwhile, the kit also comes with a weaning sippy cup to help develop tipping and sipping skills whilst preventing spills.
The bargain was posted on the Facebook group Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK, and numerous people seemed keen to snap it up.
One person wrote: “I want one.”
Another said: “need to grab this, that’s a bargain.”
A third commented: “Handy for little man.”
We previously shared how a mum spotted the Tommee Tippee anti-colic set, which is normally on sale for £39, being sold for just £9.75 in the Tesco clearance.
She only realised, however, that the price of the set had been slashed when she checked her receipt at home.

The lucky customer said the set is “still full price” on the Tesco website, so she wasn’t sure if the deal was available everywhere.
Writing on Facebook, she said: “Tommee Tippee anti-colic set from £39 down to £9.75 on clearance in Tesco, Mold.
“Still full price on their website. Comes with 4 bottles, 1 brush, 1 dummy, and 2 replacement heads. Not sure if this is nation wide, or not.”
The set is designed to ease colic, gas and reflux and includes nine helpful items.
It includes 2 150ml bottles, 2 260ml botts, 2x medium flow teats, 2 night time soothers and 1 bottle and teat brush.

What is baby led weaning?
Starting your baby on food can be a daunting, scary process.
And while mums have depended for years on purees and soft, easy to eat foods for their babies, there’s another approach that often causes controversy.
Namely baby led weaning (BLW).
Instead of spoon-feeding your baby pureed or mashed foods, BLW means offering them “only finger foods and letting them feed themselves from the start”, the NHS explained.
“You can offer a range of small, finger-sized pieces of food,” they added.
“Some parents prefer baby-led weaning to spoon feeding, while others combine a bit of both.
“There’s no right or wrong way – the most important thing is that your baby eats a wide variety of food and gets all the nutrients they need.”
‘Knight’ rushed to hospital after SWORD accidentally pierces his helmet during medieval battle reenactment at castle
A MAN involved in a medieval reenactment is in a serious condition after suffering a horrendous sword injury.
The 37-year-old man was wearing body armour when his opponent’s sword entered his visor just before 3pm.

He has been left in a serious condition after suffering a head injury.
Police have appealed for witnesses to come forward after the incident on Sunday at Bodiam Castle, East Sussex.
A large crowd including children were watching the reenactments at the 14th century castle.
They were left shocked and distressed by the “freak accident”.
One witness said: “It had been a really thrilling fight reenactment and then suddenly it went catastrophically wrong.
“It was a freak accident really. They must have rehearsed it a hundred times. It was clearly just dreadful luck.
“It was clear the man was very seriously injured and people were very shocked. Some kids were in tears. It was quite upsetting for everyone who was there.”
Police are specifically looking for photographs or video footage of the incident.
Detective Inspector Barry Chandler from Sussex Police said: “A man was unfortunately injured during the combat re-enactment.
“We are treating the incident as an accident and we are offering support to his family. His opponent, a 36-year-old man also from Horsham, and the organisers are helping us with our enquiries.
“We know the re-enactment had drawn a large crowd and understand that anyone who witnessed the scene could have found this distressing.
“We are appealing to anyone who has photographs or videos of the interaction that led to the injury to contact us so we can gain a clear understanding of what happened.”
The man was rushed to Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton after being treated by paramedics.
The castle, which is run by the National Trust, often hosts groups of volunteers with a passion for history and training.
Dressed in full armour, they show what medieval combat may have looked like, through showing weapons and explaining techniques.
Visitors are then invited to ask the participants questions to build up their knowledge of medieval life and combat.

I tried DIY stencilling my bedroom but when I unpeeled the finished look I was horrified – it was too advanced for me
DOING your own DIY can save you a lot of money, but some people make it look easier than others.
One woman shared how she had been inspired to stencil her bedroom wall, but it hadn’t gone according to plan.

TikTok user @lifeatthelma showed how she had picked out a gorgeous sage green paint and had then taped a decorative stencil to the wall.
She thought everything had gone swimmingly, until she peeled back the stencil to reveal her hard work.
To her horror, the paint had spread until the stencil and it looked messy and not like the design she had wanted.
On her video, which has over 1.6million views, she wrote: “Unfortunately I think stencilling may be too advanced for me lol.
“This bedroom really has been testing me.”
After she pulled off a larger section, she joked: “But do we think it is giving cottage core (the goal) or chain link fence?”
Many people were quick to offer their advice in the comments as to how she could fix it.
One said: “dry the brush as much as possible , almost no color on it and then multiple coats.”
Another added: “You need a stenciling brush and BLOT the paint off before you put it on the stencil.”
And a third commented: “Practice makes perfect. Either the stencil wasn’t snug against the wall, you used too much product, or you used the wrong applicator.”
The woman said she was going to continue, after making the recommended tweaks.
She continued: “So, people also said to get a box or, like, cardboard to wipe the brush off so it’s mostly dry. So we’re gonna try that.
“One other suggestion was to have adhesive for this. No one told me what kind of adhesive, so let me know, because if this doesn’t work, then I’ll try it out.
“Because it does pucker a little bit from the wall. But I don’t want any residue left on the wall, so that’s what I’m concerned about.”
STENCIL WAR

We previously shared how another woman had more success with her stencilling her front porch area, but it sparked a neighbour row.
A clip shared to TikTok showed how she had added the stencils to the front steps of her home, and also to the passageway leading to her neighbours’ houses either side.
She had abruptly stopped when she reached one of the neighbour’s boundaries due to a dispute.
The woman explained on her @__bambamx account: “When you help your mum paint her slabs, and she has two neighbours – but she doesn’t like one.
“Neighbours at war – Don’t get any more blatant than that.”

Five mum hacks to make camping a breeze – including how to make sure your kids don’t escape the tent when you’re asleep
SUMMER has well and truly arrived which means millions of families will be making wonderful memories whilst camping.
But as glorious as it may sound, camping is all fun and games until you realise it’s too cold to fall asleep and there’s nothing for lunch.

To help fellow parents ensure their next camping trip is a breeze, one savvy mum-of-two has come to rescue with five hacks.
Spot your tent right away
Mum and TikToker, only known as @adventuresofthewests, revealed practically everything you need to know – including how to prevent your little ones from escaping the tent during nighttime.
If you’ve been out and about exploring the local area all day long and return to the tent late at night, you’ll know it’ll be pretty challenging to spot it.
But there’s an easy solution – according to the savvy mum, from Brighton, this is where a bit of fluorescent tape comes to rescue.
You can find glow-in-the-dark tape for as little as 81p on Temu, £2 on Amazon and elsewhere – and it’s bound to make your next trip much easier.
Simply stick around the tent rope and you’re ready to go – it’s really that straightforward.
The tape will absorb all the light during daytime – and it’ll also mean you won’t trip all over the place.
The camping lover said in her video: ”This is especially helpful at festivals with lots of tents close together and looking the same.”
Keyring hack
As well as making your tent easier to find, adding larger keyrings to the zips will also ensure your kids are safe at night – and won’t open the tent for a little wander.
The mother-of-two explained: ”You can link it through two zips to stop them from getting out.”
Keep cosy at night
While today and tonight is still set to be rather toasty, there’s no denying that British weather is unpredictable – and we’re bound to have nights cooler than others.
As fun as camping may be, trying to fall asleep when you’re shivering is never pleasant – which is why it’s essential to pack items to stay warm in a tent.
Three camping tips from an expert
David Scotland owns camping equipment retailer Outdoor World Direct and knows all about how to make a camping trip run smoothly.
When visiting any campsite this summer it’s important to make sure you’re not making simple mistakes that could ruin your holiday.
Check your tent
David recommends putting your tent up a couple of weeks before you’re due to travel to give you enough time to repair or replace any damaged parts.
He told Sun Online Travel: “You’d be surprised how many people turn up with broken tents.”
Test the ground
Picking a good spot to pitch your tent is difficult, with lots of things to consider.
One of those should be the condition of the ground you’re putting your tent on top of, according to David.
He said: “Once you’ve found the perfect spot, test the ground with your pegs before you commit to camping there to make sure the ground is soft enough.”
Don’t nap in your tent
It may seem the perfect place for it, but a nap in a tent could end badly, if it’s done at the wrong time of the day.
David explained: “If the sun’s shining and it’s hot inside your tent – don’t do it!
“One of our friends nodded off in his tent during a heatwave at Glastonbury and ended up at the medical tent with heatstroke.”
Instead, he recommends finding some shade outside or somewhere well ventilated.
Although many of us may assume this means bringing loads of blankets to chuck on top of you, the Brighton-based mother advised to ”add more layers underneath” for the ultimate sleep.
”We used a blanket, a foil blanket and slot together foam mats underneath our boys’ inflatable mattress – and it works a treat.”
Prep your food ahead of time
There’s nothing quite as frustrating as realising there’s nothing to eat for lunch or dinner – only to then have to drive for miles on end to the nearest shop for pricey meals.
To avoid forking out a fortune and having to cook whilst camping, prepping meals ahead of time is essential, the mum said.
”One pot camping dinners are ideal, as well as pre-cooking pasta, so you can then just add a sauce.
”And pre-making pancake mix is another great one.”
This, she added, will also save you heaps of time not having to wash up as many dishes – which is never a fun part of camping.
Freeze meals and blocks of ice
As well as pre-cooking your meals, such as a scrumptious spag bol, the mum recommended freezing them, on top of freezing blocks of ice.
”This will keep your cool box way cooler for longer and when the water does melt, it’ll be trapped in the lunch box rather than making everything wet.”
Idaho sniper suspect Wess Roley’s chilling social media post hours before ambush that saw two firefighters killed
THE suspected gunman who lit a wildfire to lure firefighters into tackling a blaze before shooting them dead shared a sinister warning on social media – hours before the ambush.
Wess Roley, 20, allegedly killed two firefighters and left a third fighting for their life after opening fire in Coeur D’Alene in Idaho on Sunday.

Roley was found dead around six hours after fire crews received the initial calls about the blaze in the mountain range.
Cops on Monday shared photos of Roley wearing camouflaged gear that he shared on social media.
He shared lyrics from a Bjork song, warning: “I’m going hunting.”
Investigators are still probing what motivated Roley to carry out the shooting – which has left family members reeling.
Police revealed they didn’t find any manifesto.
Roley’s grandpa, Dale, said he had no idea his grandson could carry out the killings.
Dale told the New York Times that he was close with Roley, but the pair lost contact around a month ago.
He said that Roley had lost his cell phone.
Dale revealed that his grandson had dreams of becoming a firefighter.
“He was just trying to figure his life out,” he said.
“He seemed to be a little bit optimistic.”
