I’ve been on Mounjaro for 5 months – my bank balance is depleting but I’ve hardly lost ANY weight, it’s not a quick fix

WHEN you invest in yourself, you want to see results quickly.

And one woman who is spending hundreds on mounjaro every month has been left disappointed by the results as she warns it’s not the magical drug many assume it is.

Despite seeing lots of success stories, Nat felt she wasn’t having the same experience[/caption]

Nat, from the UK, took to social media to share her frustration with the weight loss jab and the lack of weight she had lost since she started taking it five months ago.

She said: “Mounjaro people, I need to hear something different because everyone who is doing Mounjaro and is on TikTok is talking about how amazing and how quick it is and is showing their transformations.”

Looking for some support, Nat said she was gutted she wasn’t having the same results after only losing 1.5st in the last five months.

She continued: “I really thought after five months of being on it that I’d have something to show for it, and I don’t.

“I’m losing motivation and my bank balance is (throat-slit hand gesture).

She asked those who were also slow responders to the weight loss drug to share their success stories to keep her motivated.

Nat said she carries her weight in ‘strange places’ so despite losing over a stone, she couldn’t tell the difference.

“So if anyone’s in the same position or it was slow and now it’s like gone fast or if they’ve got any tips and tricks, please help me out,” she pleaded.

“Because yeah, like I said, my bank balance is done and I am losing the will to live.”

Nat’s video was a reminder that the weight loss jab is not a quick fix as many took to the comments to share they had similar experiences.

The clip went viral on her account @nat.lk with over 44k views.

One person wrote: “I’ve been on Mounjaro for 3 weeks but have lost nothing.”

Another commented: “I’m on mounjaro and the weight is coming off slowly and yes, like you I did feel a little disheartened, but it’s coming off and I’m not constantly thinking about food like I would be normally.”

“Started end of January. lost 2 and a half stone. The last month lost NOTHING,” penned a third.

What are the other side effects of weight loss jabs?

Like any medication, weight loss jabs can have side effects.

Common side effects of injections such as Ozempic include:

Nausea: This is the most commonly reported side effect, especially when first starting the medication. It often decreases over time as your body adjusts.

Vomiting: Can occur, often in conjunction with nausea.

Diarrhea: Some people experience gastrointestinal upset.

Constipation: Some individuals may also experience constipation.

Stomach pain or discomfort: Some people may experience abdominal pain or discomfort.

Reduced appetite: This is often a desired effect for people using Ozempic for weight loss.

Indigestion: Can cause a feeling of bloating or discomfort after eating.

Serious side effects can also include:

Pancreatitis: In rare cases, Ozempic may increase the risk of inflammation of the pancreas, known as pancreatitis, which can cause severe stomach pain, nausea, and vomiting.

Kidney problems: There have been reports of kidney issues, including kidney failure, though this is uncommon.

Thyroid tumors: There’s a potential increased risk of thyroid cancer, although this risk is based on animal studies. It is not confirmed in humans, but people with a history of thyroid cancer should avoid Ozempic.

Vision problems: Rapid changes in blood sugar levels may affect vision, and some people have reported blurry vision when taking Ozempic.

Hypoglycemia (low blood sugar): Especially if used with other medications like sulfonylureas or insulin.

Meanwhile, a fourth said: “Slow and steady is good. I’m the same though, always want to lose quickly.”

“It works a bit slower on some people you’ve just got to stick with it but you will lose,” claimed a fifth

Someone else added: “I’m thinking of coming off it for a month and restarting from scratch.”

Lawyer who defended ‘worst paedophile in history’ who raped hundreds of children dies in suicide just weeks after trial

THE lawyer for a French surgeon dubbed one of country’s worst sex offenders in history has died in an apparent suicide, a prosecutor has said.

Maxime Tessier, 34, had defended Joel Le Scouarnec, 74, who admitted at his trial to sexually assaulting or raping hundreds of patients between 1989 and 2014.

Many of Le Scouarnec’s 298 victims were children.

He was sentenced by a French court to to 20 years in prison back in May.

Frederic Teillet, chief prosecutor in the western French city of Rennes, said that an investigation had been started into the lawyer’s death.

“Everything points to suicide,” Teillet said.

Catherine Glon, his associate, said he “had a very high regard for justice and was therefore very demanding towards himself.”

Tessier had been one of two lawyers defending Le Scouarnec, who is considered one of the most egregious sex offenders in French criminal history.

Channel 5 launches new challenge show inspired by iconic Eddie Murphy film

An image collage containing 1 images, Image 1 shows Channel 5 logo

EDDIE MURPHY’s Eighties movie Trading Places is the inspiration for a new TV project.

The Channel 5 show has the same name and will see two people with very different lifestyles have to walk in one another’s shoes.

So you might end up watching a banker try his hand at farming, or a violinist become a lorry driver, or a ballerina ditch their tights in favour of working on an oil rig.

It is based on the story at the heart of comedy Trading Places, which sees Eddie’s down-and-out character Billy Ray Valentine trade positions with upper-class stock broker Louis Winthorpe, played by Dan Aykroyd.

Meanwhile, snobbish Louis becomes a street hustler and pals with local hooker, played by Jamie Lee Curtis.

A TV insider said: “While this has strong echoes of the 1983 movie, it has a retro feel to it for more than one reason.

“The new project definitely has a whiff of Channel 4’s Wife Swap or Faking It, which were hugely successful in the Nineties and Noughties.

“Though this does take things to higher level, as there is an implied amount of competition given that it’s two people trying to excel in the other’s field of expertise.”

But the experience goes much further than their nine-to-five job.

The participants will live in one another’s houses, take over their hobbies, and even socialise with their friends and families.

They will even have to follow the other’s sleep routines — and neither has the faintest idea what the other does for a living before they start filming the show.

DAMIAN’S GALAXY OF STARS

ACTING royalty DamiaN Lewis brought together a galaxy of stars for the launch of Lightroom’s Prehistoric Planet: Discovering Dinosaurs.

The attraction, in King’s Cross London, is a new immersive experience that takes visitors back to prehistoric times, 66 million years ago.

Damian, who played Henry VIII in the BBC’s Wolf Hall dramas, lends his dulcet tones to proceedings as the narrator.

But at the official launch he was also playing host to a string of famous pals including Billie Piper and GMB host Kate Garraway.

Other big names attending included Kay Burley, Anita Rani, Charlotte Ritchie and Matt Johnson.

The prehistoric world was brought vividly to life through Lightroom’s cutting-edge 360-degree projection technology – and all to the sound of a score by Hanz Zimmer.

LIAM’S GIFT TO SINGERS

NICOLE SCHERZINGER has told how co-star Liam Payne would put in extra hours behind the scenes of Building The Band to help the wannabes.

The late singer is also a judge and mentor on the Netflix talent show that launched yesterday.

It was filmed prior to his shock death last October.

Nicole, who was a guest judge on The X Factor in 2010 when Liam found fame with One Direction, said of his time on Building The Band: “He was in his happy place coming full circle, having started out in a similar situation on a talent reality show, and then having the global success that he has had, and then to be able to give back and to mentor bands.

“He put in the extra hours to work with these bands even off screen.

“He was giving back and that’s one of his gifts.”

AMY SET FOR LAST LAUGH

THE first comedian primed to join a new star-studded cast of Jimmy Carr’s Last One Laughing is Amy Gledhill

She has been snapped up by Prime Video for the second series of the hit comedy show, which drops next year.

Jimmy is back to host the show challenging ten of the UK’s funniest people enter a room for a six-hour battle of wills – where the last one to laugh is crowned the winner.

Amy will follow in the footsteps of Bob Mortimer, Daisy May Cooper and Joe Lycett who featured in the first outing.

An insider told The Sun: “Amy is not massively known as yet, but she’s a rising star who has already achieved acclaimed success at the UK National Comedy Awards and Edinburgh Fringe Festival.

“Last One Laughing is the perfect opportunity to show off her talent – and help catapult her onto the worldwide stage.”

ROSE’S THRILLER GROWS

ITV has commissioned a second series of thriller Code of Silence which stars Rose Ayling-Ellie.

The first, six part series was widely acclaimed when it aired on ITV1 and ITVX in May and June and the first episode consolidated with 7.5m viewers

In particularly, people tuning in were impressed by it putting a deaf character, Alison, at the heart of the action.

Former EastEnders and Strictly winner Rose, who plays the key role, said: “I’m so proud that Code of Silence has been recommissioned.

“The response to the first series has been incredible, and it means so much to be part of a drama that not only keeps audiences on the edge of their seats, but also puts a Deaf character at the heart of the story.

“I’m really excited to see where Alison’s journey goes next and to be working again with the wonderful cast, crew and creative team behind the show.”

A NEW trailer has dropped for series two of Netflix hit Wednesday, and it suggests Jenna Ortega‘s eponymous lead is in grave danger.

During one of her psychic visions, she learns her best friend Enid Sinclair (Emma Myers) will die and it is her fault. It lands on August 6.

NETFLIX’s longest-running unscripted series Queer Eye has been canned.

The lifestyle show followed the Fab Five – experts in fashion, design, relationships, grooming and interiors – as they made over willing contributors.Since its 2018 debut more than 90 episodes have been aired.

Stewardess, 20, brutally knifed to death in engine room of £9.5m luxury yacht off billionaires’ island

A YOUNG crew member has been brutally killed on board a luxury yacht moored off a billionaires’ playground.

The body of Paige Bell, 20, was found in the engine room after the vessel docked off an exclusive island in the Bahamas.

The alleged murder shocked the exclusive resort of Harbour Island

Paige, from Johannesburg, South Africa, was described as a ‘golden girl’ by friends and worked as a guest relations officer on the £9.5million charter yacht Far From It.

A 39-year-old Mexican mechanic who worked alongside Paige below deck has been arrested for her murder.

It is said she fought back but was overpowered by her shipmate, whose motive is under police investigation.

The engineer appeared at New Providence magistrates court in the Bahamas today charged with savagely murdering the 20-year-old last Thursday.

A statement from Paige’s family says: “Our family is facing an unimaginable journey.

“This evening mom and dad are flying to the Bahamas to begin the painful process of not only bringing their baby girl home but also seeking justice for the monster that took her life.

“We are devastated beyond words and now we must also navigate complex and costly legal proceedings in a foreign country – something far beyond our financial means.

“This heart-breaking loss has been deeply felt by everyone who knew and loved “Paigey” – her former captain, the boat owner, all the crew on board and our entire community.

“We are humbly asking for your support whether by sharing this message or contributing financially, every bit helps. Please keep our family in your thoughts and prayers.

“We are grateful for your love, support, and solidarity during this incredibly difficult time.

The alleged murder shocked the exclusive resort of Harbour Island which is a 3 mile by 1.5 mile playground for the rich and famous and a mecca for superyachts.

It lies 60 miles to the east of the capital Nassau just off the larger island of Eleuthera.

Bill Gates has a mansion on the tiny island and regular holidaymakers include Mick Jagger, Prince Harry, Tom Cruise, Kardashians, Harrison Ford and Tom Hanks.

It is known as the “Billionaires Backyard” as over 20 billionaires live on the paradise island.

A huge bash was being planned for Friday in the marina and on the yacht to mark Paige’s 21st birthday – which had been planned by her boyfriend.

Crew on the exclusive yacht which costs £120,000-a-week to charter were puzzled last week when there was no sign of Paige or answer from her phone.

They searched all six luxury VIP suites and the crew quarters before one member of staff went down into the engine room where they discovered the horror.

Paige’s dead body was reportedly found on the floor.

Her shipmate was lying close to her covered in blood with a knife in his hand, with both his wrists slashed, police said.

Officers were called to the vessel at 1pm on July 3 and found the suspect still alive but bleeding heavily beside the young victim’s body.

A Bahamas police spokesman said: “We are investigating a murder and a suspected suicide attempt after a woman from South Africa was found dead on a yacht at Harbour Island.

“According to a preliminary report shortly after 1pm on July 3, the police were alerted to an incident on a yacht and proceeded to the marina area and went aboard Far From It.

“Once on board the vessel officers discovered a female unresponsive with visible signs of injuries and a Mexican national close by suffering from severe injuries to his arms.

“The local doctor who had been called to the scene pronounced the victim deceased.

“As police investigated further it was discovered that the victim was missing for a short period before being found unresponsive in the engine room with the male suspect.

“We can confirm that a 39-year-old Mexican national will be arraigned before magistrates today charged with murder which stem from the death of a 20-year-old South African.

“She was found on board a vessel at Harbour Island, Eleuthera, on Thursday, July 3.”
