‘This is ridiculous… it’s wrong’ – BBC pundit slams Wimbledon star after he controversially leaves Cam Norrie in lurch

A BBC pundit slammed Wimbledon star Frances Tiafoe for his controversial move against Cameron Norrie.

The American took the opening set before the British ace fought back to win 4-6 6-4 6-3 7-5.

The break lasted a total of seven minutes[/caption]

With Norrie in the driving seat after the third, Tiafoe left the court for a legal bathroom break.

But the 12th seed took an absolute age to return and it infuriated BBC commentator John Lloyd.

He accused Tiafoe of trying to kill “the momentum of the game” during the stoppage that lasted just over seven minutes.

Lloyd said: “We have seen this before with players.

“They come off at 2-1 down, go and have a bathroom break, change of shirt break, they come back and play completely differently.

“Maybe it is what he needs, to get away from it all and recharge.

“But this, to me, I don’t agree with this at all. I think this is wrong.

“This is ridiculous, I’m sorry, but this is ridiculous. Absolutely ridiculous.”

Lloyd’s co-commentator Andrew Castle joked: “Maybe he has forgot his pants and is going to come back on with a fresh [pair].”

Norrie sat down patiently waiting throughout as Lloyd suggested: “If I was him I would go out and hit a few serves.”

When Tiafoe was finally ready to restart the match, Castle added: “Now, where were we? What day is it?”

There is a five minute limit in place when players use the bathroom.

But they are only on the clock once they enter the facilities and not on their slow stroll there.

Tiafoe’s possible gamesmanship did not work as Norrie clinched victory in the fourth set.

The 2022 Wimbledon semi-finalist will play the winner of Jiri Lehecka vs Mattia Bellucci on Friday.

He joined Blackburn Rovers when 16 and was a regular in the underage set-up as well as making two first team appearances.

Grimsby boss David Artell said, “We are really pleased that Zak’s decided to join us, he’s a player we’ve had our eyes on for a while.”

“He’s a really good player with a lot of potential, excellent on the ball and we are really excited to start working with him.”

Love Island racks up over 1k Ofcom complaints in just days as show rocked by ‘bullying and misogyny’ row

LOVE Island has racked up over 1k Ofcom complaints in just days, with viewers raising concerns over alleged bullying and misogyny by contestants.

The 1,138 objections relate to episodes broadcast on 26, 27 and 29 June, and cite the behaviour of islanders Ben Holbrough, Meg Moore and Helena Ford.

On June 19, 123 complaints followed a heated game of Look Who’s Talking.

Then, on June 26, 884 were made after an argument between Yasmin and Ben.

The dispute began when Ben ended their relationship, saying he needed to “take a step back”.

And, on June 27, 131 came in after Helena and Harrison shared a kiss in the hideaway.

According to Ofcom, viewers accuse the show of failing to intervene appropriately.

The broadcasting regulator is currently assessing the complaints before deciding whether to launch a formal investigation.

ITV has been contacted for comment.

Fans previously called for Ben to be kicked off the show after his “misogynistic” behaviour was pointed out by the girls

The islanders were given the infamous snog, marry or pie task on tonight’s episode of the long-running ITV2 show.

As part of the game, the Love Island contestants get to choose to snog the islander they are most attracted to.

They also chose which fellow co-stars would be the nicest in a potential marriage and they could get their own back by slamming a cream pie in the face of someone they have the hump with.

After conducting each action, each player would give their reasoning behind their choice in front of everyone.

Alima chose to slam her pie into the face of Ben, as she admitted that she did not like the way he treated women in the villa.

She told him: “I’ve seen the way you move in the villa. Like the way you speak to women and about women.”

But she was not the only girl to do this as two other ladies chose to slam pies into his face.

After doing the deed, Shakira remarked: “He still think he’s in with a chance. I just thought I’d let the n****** know that he’s no good at all.”

Whilst Megan Moore said: “The way he’s been speaking to girls, I just don’t like it. I don’t think it’s very respectful”

Toni was going to slam her pie into the face of Ben, however she loudly declared that he “wasn’t even worth it!”

Despite Ben’s previously brutal takedown of Yas when ending their couple partnership, she didn’t choose to give him the pie in a surprising news.

But right before her decision she did lick some of the cream off her dipped finger before flipping him the bird.

Later on Aftersun – hosted by Maya Jama – even Olivia and Alex Bowen admitted they felt uncomfortable by the way he spoke to women.

Many viewers took to X – formerly known as Twitter – as they begged producers to send Ben packing.

They claimed that all of the girls have started to pick up on his ‘misogynistic’ behaviour.

One fan noted: “See the way they’re calling out Ben’s misogyny and he’s still there is crazy.”

“Meg is now clocking Ben’s misogyny,” stated a second user.

While a third commented: “Alima is such an it girl. Love the way she clocked Ben in his misogyny.”

Someone else wrote: “Ben need to look in the mirror and ask himself why most of the girls think you’re a n******.”

As a fifth fumed: “I actually need Ben out of my villa tomorrow. His mere presence p***** me off.”

The way he’s been speaking to girls, I just don’t like it. I don’t think it’s very respectful”

An additional viewer exclaimed: “Ben is actually haunting that villa get him out immediatelyyyy.”

And a seventh added: “Mmmmmmmmm producers get Ben out NOWWWWWWWWW.”

Ben has previously gotten on both the wrong side of fans and the girls in the villa with some of his savage comments.

In an argument with Yaz, he remarked: “No one rated you when you were in here let’s say. You’ve only come out your shell because you’re in a couple with me.”

Adding: “No man wants you in here.”

DUNNES Stores fans are set to love a stripey new co-ord with “flattering” fit that’s ideal for office – and it costs just €30.

The Irish retailer has dropped the perfect outfit for shoppers this summer.

The fabulous Gallery Pinstripe Longline Waistcoat is now available in stores and online.

Made out of cotton it features a sleek pinstripe design with a round neck line – a great choice to wear while in the office.

Dunnes Stores chiefs said: “This cotton-blend longline waistcoat features a classic round neckline and a sleek pinstripe design.

“The button-through front and faux welt pockets create a structured finish, perfect for wearing solo with the matching shorts; sold separately.”

The striking top is available in sizes 8 to 18 and comes in only the pinstripe design.

To take care of it, Dunnes Stores said to wash at 40 degrees with similar colours together.

They also warned buyers not bleach or tumble dry it and hang to dry.

It’s set to be a big hit, so savvy shoppers must act fast.

Style with the matching Gallery Pinstripe Pleated Shorts just €25.

The retailer said: “These pleated pinstripe shorts are the perfect blend of structure and comfort.

“Designed with a concealed closure and tailored belt loops, they offer a polished fit, while side pockets and two faux welt pockets at the back add classic detailing.”

The smart shorts also range in sizes 8 to 18.

Meanwhile, a Dunnes Stores shopper has shared her experience hunting for a viral fleece in the store that has been a huge hit with shoppers.

The retailer has been famous for it’s fleece releases over the past couple of years.

The range includes anything from block colour options to wacky prints – and shoppers love them.

Fleeces are perfect for any occasion – whether it’s the gym, for lunch or to layer up when the temperature drops while on holiday.

Now, a fashion fan has taken to social media to share a look at her experience hunting for a specific fleece.

TikTok user Zoe Simpson shared a short video to the platform for her followers.

In the caption of the video, Zoe wrote: “Me in a fleece. My hobbies include seeing things on my fyp and running straight to get them, but I’m sorry how cute is this fleece?”

At the beginning of the video, she said: “I’ve seen this fleece all over my for you page in Dunnes and I need it – so let’s go and see if we can find it.”

She then can be seen in her car outside Dunnes Stores, and she adds: “We’ve arrived at Dunnes – let’s go see if we can find it.”

Zoe then walks into the shop, and adds: “We’re in, and I’m not too sure where to look but let’s go.”

She shows a closeup of the fleece, which is blue with floral prints scattered across it.

The flowers have pink petals with yellow dots in the centre, creating a colourful look for any occasion.

Halfway down the sleeves it features a piping detail which reaches the cuff for an extra bit of colour.

This matches the piping around the collar, down the zip and on the two side pockets.

THE HISTORY OF DUNNES STORES

DUNNES Stores opened its first store on Patrick Street in Cork in 1944 - and it was an instant hit.

Shoppers from all over the city rushed to the store to snap up quality clothing at pre-war prices in Ireland’s first ‘shopping frenzy’.

During the excitement, a window was forced in and the police had to be called to help control the crowds hoping to bag founder Ben Dunne’s ‘Better Value’ bargains.

Dunnes later opened more stores in the 1950s and began to sell groceries in 1960 – starting with apples and oranges.

The retailer said: “Fruit was expensive at the time and Ben Dunne yet again offered Better Value than anyone else in town.

“Over time, our food selection has grown and that spirit of good value has remained strong.

“Now we offer a wide range of carefully-sourced foods from both local Irish suppliers and overseas.”

The retailer’s first Dublin store opened its doors in 1957 on Henry Street and a super store on South Great Georges Street was unveiled in 1960.

They added: “In 1971, our first Northern Irish store opened, and many others soon followed.

“Expansion continued in the 1980s in Spain, and later into Scotland and England.”

Dunnes now has 142 stores and employs 15,000 people.

Tottenham announce major change to stadium with iconic landmark from old ground brought back

TOTTENHAM have announced that the ‘Bill Nicholson Gates’ will be reinstalled in front of their stadium ahead of next season.

The gates were a famous feature of White Hart Lane, Spurs’ former home, but removed in 2015 when construction work began on the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

The gates become synonymous with Nicholson, who guided Spurs to a league and FA Cup double in 1961, following a photograph of the late manager standing between them, taken by Peter Robinson in the 1970s.

Fans have been hoping to see the iconic black and gold wrought iron gates brought out of storage, ever since Tottenham moved into their new glitzy home in 2019.

But they won’t have much longer to wait to see them take their place outside the stadium once again following an update from the club’s Fan Advisory Board (FAB) meeting that was held on Tuesday.

The gates will be given a new home within Paxton17, close to the ticket office on the Tottenham High Road.

The meeting was attended by club representatives, including new chief executive officer Vinai Venkatesham.

Work is under way to have the gates in place for Spurs’ opening Premier League match of the season at home to Burnley on August 16.

As with any new stadium, the club has been trying to underline connections between it and the old home.

The gates were one of the most recognisable and distinctive sights at the old ground, outside the car park in front of the main entrance facing the High Road.

CASINO SPECIAL – BEST CASINO BONUSES FROM £10 DEPOSITS

Chairman Daniel Levy said: “The Bill Nicholson Gates are such a significant part of our Club’s heritage and I am extremely proud they will be returning home this summer.

“We were never going to rush into a decision as to where they should be reinstated, given the huge amount of works that have taken place in the area over recent years.

“We look forward to welcoming fans back to the stadium for the coming season – as well as Bill’s family members and former players – to see the gates and feel that close connection between our Club and its rich history.”

Another key point from the meeting is that the club and FAB are working together to create a revamped Tottenham Hall of Fame.

Venkatesham also took the chance to explain the recent changes and thought process behind choosing Thomas Frank to replace the sacked Ange Postecoglou.

I’m a hairdresser and here’s my three major client icks, your floppy neck is just the start

A HAIRDRESSER has revealed the three things clients do that give her the “ick” – and eye contact is a major issue.

Danielle, from Aberdeen, regularly shares her styling tips and favourite haircare products on social media (@dp_blondeexpert).

A hairdresser revealed the three ‘icks’ that clients do at appointments[/caption]

In a recent video, the mum of one opened the lid on the annoying habits customers have that hair experts always notice.

Danielle said: “I thought it’d be fun to share my top three client icks because I’m a hairdresser and I have been for like 18 years.

“This is light hearted, it’s just a little bit fun.”

First up, she poked fun at clients with “floppy necks” – including her own mum.

She explained: “Every hairdresser has experienced this. Doesn’t matter how lightly you put your comb or your brush on your client’s head, they just lose all strength in their neck. I don’t know why. FYI, my mum is one of them.”

Next, Danielle revealed that clients running late can be an ick if they finally arrive with a specific item.

“When a client arrives late with a takeout coffee, you guys are bold”, she laughed.

“When I was younger, that used to p*** me off, but see now, I love it. Cause I’m like, you don’t give a f***.

“You’re like, ‘yeah I’m late, dare you to ask me where I was’. And I do not.”

And the hair expert has pleaded with clients to stop doing the final ick on her list which she insists that hairdressers find “creepy AF”.

She said: “When you are lying in the basin, you don’t have to shut your eyes, but what you do not do is like lean all the way back and stare at us.

“Like don’t, don’t make eye contact. When you’re in the basin, we do not appreciate eye contact.

“Don’t know what it is, but it’s like, just, it’s intense. Relax, close your eyes, zen out for a few minutes, but do not stare at us.”

Other hairdressers immediately flooded Danielle’s comments with their thoughts on her list.

“Number 1 is 100% the worst”, one insisted.

A second added: “When they come in with the take away coffee! Like babe if your gona be late at least bring me a coffee!!”

“Haha the basin one I would never”, added a third.

A fourth wrote: “Omg the floppy neck gets me every time and the basin stare.”

A fifth cried: “The basin eyeball, cannae cope with it!!! Always worry I have visible snotters on show. Actually had a client tell me one day that ‘I had a bat in the cave’,”

Meanwhile, a sixth echoed: “Ahhhhhh don’t stare at meeeeeee hahahahah it’s the worst isn’t it.”

Danielle earlier revealed the big mistake people make when washing their hair – and it could be wrecking your locks.

She said: “If you shampoo the ends of your hair, you are doing it wrong.

“Shampoo is for cleaning your scalp and roots of your hair.

“Shampooing the ends can cause tangling and possible breakage.”

She also revealed the three shampoo brands she swears by that she always recommends to customers.

As well as in-salon hair services, Danielle offers online tutorials to help her fellow hairdressers perfect their colouring skills – in particular, bleaching and balayage.
