Trolls call me ‘entitled’ because I drive a Range Rover but live in a council house – I don’t care, haters are jealous

A MOTHER has been slammed by trolls because she drives a Range Rover but lives in a council house.

The first-time mum, who posts online under the username ‘Life With RM’, has been accused of being “selfish” and “entitled”.

But the content creator, who is on a mission to increase her followers, isn’t bothered by what the haters say and believes that keyboard warriors are just “jealous”.

Posting on social media, the mother responded to a rude remark from a hater that read: “You have a council house and a Range Rover. Something is wrong here.”

But eager to clap back and set the record straight, the young woman mimed along to Billy Joel’s 1978 song ‘My Life’.

Looking at the camera, she carefreely sang: “I don’t care what you say anymore, this is my life.”

The mother then pointed to the comment, shook her head and wrote: “That sounds like a you problem mate.”

The TikTok clip, which was posted under the username @life.with.rm, has clearly left many open-mouthed, as it has quickly racked up 21,700 views.

Not only this, but it’s also amassed 357 likes and 155 comments.

Big divide

But social media users were left totally divided by the woman’s clip – while some were eager to support her and questioned the unjust response from trolls, others didn’t agree and called her “selfish”.

One person said: “This is why council houses should be means tested, if you’re earning that much you don’t need a council house like those who don’t work or or a low income.”

Another added: “The fact is you wouldn’t be able to buy the Range Rover if you were renting on the open market.

“Social rent allows you to do this. After you earn a certain amount you should give the property back.”

A third commented: “This is exactly the entitled culture nowadays. Subsidised rent and keeping the true poor out.

“Selfish but to be honest I’d expect nothing less.”

But at the same time, one woman wrote: “Some people are so jealous, they lack common sense, live your life darling.”

The reality of living in a council house

LEANNE Hall, Digital Writer at Fabulous, has discussed what it was like growing up in a council house, and why those living in such properties are often judged...

When I was a child I grew up in a council house, and was blissfully unaware of the discrimination that came with that, until I became an adult.
My younger years were spent running up and down the stairs of my flat, meeting with other friends who lived there and making the most of the communal garden.
But now, it seems no matter your circumstance, everyone has something to say about why you shouldn’t be there.
Living just outside of London like I did, rent prices are still high, and as my mum was at home raising three kids at the time, it wasn’t easy to find a job that fit around that.
People in council houses are often labelled as ‘scroungers’ or ‘lazy’ but it’s nothing of the sort.
Most families in council homes experience overcrowding, and let’s not even mention the horrendous amount of damp and mould that comes from living in old social housing that hasn’t had work done to them in 50 or so years.
It’s not ideal for many, but it does provide a secure home without the fear your rent will shoot up every single year, which I would argue is vital to children growing up on the poverty line.

A second chimed in: “It’s just jealousy! You can have both! Enjoy it and shove your fingers up to the haters.”

Whilst someone else questioned: “What’s the problem with having a council house and the car you want?”

To this, the TikTok creator wrote back and alongside a crying emoji, replied: “Apparently we’re not allowed to.”

Princess Andre hits back as she’s accused of having lip filler after saying she won’t have surgery like mum Katie Price

PRINCESS Andre quickly shut down suggestions she’s followed in her mum, Katie Price’s footsteps and had cosmetic enhacements.

Princess who just turned 18 this week, shared a series of selfies to Instagram and was quickly inundated with negative comments.

Her mum, Katie Price, on the other hand has said she would never stop getting cosmetic surgery[/caption]

A person wrote in the comments section: “Oh noooooo the lips have been done.”

The teen replied: “No they haven’t? x”

Plenty of her other followers rushed in to defend Princess and told her she looked gorgeous.

“Actually they haven’t been touched with anything other than a lip liner and a good gloss!” wrote one person.

And another added: “Ignore it hunny. Some people have nothing better to be doing than putting comments like that up. Hope you had a lovely birthday.”

Princess is the daughter of singer Peter Andre and Katie Price, the latter of which has undergone countless procedures over the years including veneers, filler, Botox, BBL, facelifts and boob jobs.

But Princess has insisted she will stay natural, but did not judge anyone for the choices they made for their own body.

“I feel like everyone is entitled to do what they want to their body. But I personally don’t look at [cosmetic surgery] and think: ”Oh, yeah, I want to do that’,” she previously told The Sun.

“I think it’s important, especially for the younger generation on social media, to embrace natural beauty. My sisters are 10, and I want to set an example to them that they’re amazing how they are.”

Katie sparked an uproar when she posted a birthday tribute to Princess two days before her actual 18th on June 29 and then posted another tribute on the wrong date.

Getting her dates mixed up two days previously, Katie wished her daughter and “best friend” happy birthday before swiftly deleting the post.

Dad Peter’s tribute to Princess warned her to “be careful in this crazy world.”

Peter said in the post on Instagram: “Not enough words. So much love. My little girl is no longer a little girl.

“Keep being you. Kind, funny, sensitive, considerate and a bit bonkers….. oh, and a diva. But a diva full of heart.

“I know I tell you everyday but I’ll say it again. I love you so much.

“Happy 18th beautiful and please stay happy. But be careful in this crazy world. Im always here. Always. Dad.”

Lidl’s Parkside Plant Watering Spikes are tiny devices which can be easily planted in the soil, through its ergonomic stand.

All you need to do is fill the container and choose from one of the device’s eight settings.

The settings range from one, which gives a slow release of water, and eight, which allows water to flow freely.

Continuous watering whilst you’re away

Over time, the devices dribble water into the ground – allowing for a continuous irrigation of your plants

They can be used indoors and outdoors too and have a capacity of 0.5L, which is roughly equivalent to a store-bought bottle of water.

The watering spikes also come in green, allowing them to easily blend in with your lawn.

The clever creations cost just £1.99 and will be available from July 6.

Lidl often goes viral for its low-cost, high-quality products.

The German retailer’s plant range is a firm-favourite amongst shoppers, with many of its products selling for £1.99.

What else is in store?

Plants like the beautiful Hibiscus are available to buy in the store’s popular middle aisle, where it keeps homeware and discount items.

On July 7, a new range of plants will become available – at the same time as the watering spikes.

British bedding plants are only £1.99 for six plug plants, whereas garden hydrangeas are £8.99 each.

If you prefer a fragrant plant, why not add English lavender into a pot or border – only £3.99.

There’s also an assortment of clematis hitting stores on the same day for £4.99.

Mini roses and campanula are £2.99.

Interest in products like the watering spikes and its plant range has surged after the UK sizzled in roasting heatwaves.

Temperatures in the South East have soared in recent days, with highs of 33.6C being recorded in Kent.

The Wimbledon Championships had its hottest start on record, with temperatures of 32.9C being detected at the nearby Kew Gardens.

‘Good sunny spells’ & 22C temps to blast Ireland before rain & wind switch in major blow for thousands of festivalgoers

IRELAND will be treated to “good sunny spells” and temperatures will take a 16C switch this afternoon after plunging to a chilly 4C last night.

However, it’s not all sunshine on the cards, with showers of rain and heavy wind set to beat down on the country just as thousands gear up to attend Kaleidoscope and Longitude Festival’s this weekend.

Today will sit at between 14C to 20C as temperatures attempt to climb back up from that cooler overnight turn.

There will be a mix sunshine and scattered showers today with Met Eireann revealing “heavy” rain is set to fall over the northern half of the country.

Thunderstorms are expected there today too as showers spread in from the west.

Met Eireann said: “Today will bring a mix of sunshine and scattered showers, which will spread from the west through the morning and afternoon.

“Some of the showers will be heavy, especially over the northern half of the country, with the chance of few scattered thunderstorms there too.

“A clearance to mainly dry sunny weather will extend eastwards through the afternoon and evening, with just a few lingering isolated showers.

“Highest temperatures of 14C in the northwest to 20C in the east and south in light to moderate westerly breezes.”

Alan O’Reilly, from Carlow Weather, told us there is some more sunshine expected before a weekend turn.

He told The Irish Sun: “It’s a lot cooler but we will have some good sunny spells today and tomorrow, Thursday, but some scattered showers as well.”

However he warned: “Then the wind, the cloud and some more rain moves back in from the north west on Friday and the weekend is looking cloudier, breezy and showery.”

This weekend is a busy one across the country with Longitude happening in Marlay Park in Dublin and Kaleidoscope Festival getting underway in Blessington in Wicklow.

And while Alan O’Reilly said it’s still a little bit early to pinpoint an exact weather forecast, what he can say at the moment is not good news.

He told The Irish Sun: “Be prepared for some rain but it won’t be a washout weekend.

“But it certainly will be cloudy and damp with some some falls of rain.

“It will also be quite breezy so you might want to bring a few extra pegs for your tent.”

Some good hot spells are still expected[/caption]

Alan O’Reilly who runs Carlow Weather on social media said much of the same is expected for the full weekend

Met Eireann have estimated temperatures for the weekend will range from the high teens to low 20s, even with that wet weather.

Friday temperatures will sit between 14C to 19C during the day, while overnight temperatures will stay “mild and humid” dropping to just 13C to 17C.

On Saturday temperatures could soar to 22C Met Eireann have promised before coming down to between 10C and 12C overnight.

Sunday will be slightly cooler, with temperatures sitting around 20C.

DANGEROUS CLOUD

And Alan O’Reilly also weighed in on sightings of funnel clouds across Ireland yesterday before the weather turns a little stormy today.

These clouds were spotted along the west coast in places such as Galway.

He explained these clouds, often recognised as the start of a tornado, are a rotating, cone-shaped column of air extending from the bottom of a cloud.

When these reach the ground they turn into tornados, but Alan explained it is unlikely here.

He said: “When they come down and touch the ground then they become a tornado.

“But a lot of funnel clouds never reach the ground and are like the ones that were spotted in Galway yesterday.”

He added: “Tornadoes are very rare in Ireland and I mean we do get them but they’re very rare in Ireland.”

‘One in a million’ former jockey dies aged 43 after being kicked in head by horse as pal says ‘we lost our little girl’

A ‘ONE in a million’ former jockey has died aged 43 after being kicked in the head by a horse.

Heartbroken friends said they had ‘lost their little girl’ as they came to terms with the shock passing of Australian Peta Tait.

The former jockey was remembered as a ‘one in a million’ person after the ‘tragic accident’[/caption]

Tait rode 48 winners between 1998 and 2019 and had been working as a stable lass and work rider since giving up race-riding.

She was going about her normal business for trainers Trent Busuttin and Natalie Young when struck in the head at Cranbourne Training Centre in south-east Melbourne earlier this week.

Paramedics rushed to the scene and performed CPR but she could not be saved.

The trainers said in a statement: “Peta was an incredible person who was dedicated to her role and will leave a longstanding legacy. We are heartbroken by her loss.”

Jockey Daniel Moor wrote on X: “It’s difficult to find the words to describe a one in a million person, but that’s exactly who Peta was.

“So dedicated to her job and always so helpful. Constantly putting others before herself. She will be very sadly missed.”

Police are investigating the circumstances around the incident – although it was believed to be a ‘tragic accident’.

Tait rode her first ever winner for trainer Reg Manning aged 16 and he said: “It was just a freak accident.

“It was not as if she did anything wrong, or it was a bad horse, it just kicked out for whatever reason.

“I couldn’t have kids, but I have got three girls that all call me ‘Dad’ from different families.

“We helped all of them growing up and Peta was no different – we were very close.

“Fellow trainers Ian and Jan Hutchins were like family to her as well. She learnt a lot from them.

“They treated her very well, and they will be just as sad as I am that we have lost our little girl.”

Racing Victoria chief executive Aaron Morrison said: “This terrible accident serves as an untimely reminder of the thousands of unsung heroes working in stables each day to provide the best possible care to our racehorses.

“Like all within our industry, Peta loved horses and she forged a career working with them, helping numerous trainers prepare their horses as a trackwork rider or strapping them on race day.

“Peta made a valuable contribution to Victorian racing over more than 25 years and her sudden passing will be felt by many, particularly in Cranbourne where she was based.”
