Mill flew to Italy last month to take part in a documentary about the World Cup victory.

But German media revealed he suffered a cardiac arrest shortly after getting into a cab at Milan’s Malpensa airport.

A helicopter was scrambled to take him to the hospital for emergency surgery.

The 66-year-old was reportedly dead for a few minutes before doctors managed to restart his heart.

Mill was placed in an artificial coma for several days to allow his condition to stabilise.

Medics finally allowed him to be flown back to his German home city Essen to continue his recovery.

Mill’s family refused to respond to media enquiries about the former footballer’s current state of health.

Mill was capped 17 times by Germany and also made 20 appearances for his country’s Olympic team.

Mill won the German FA Cup with Dortmund and helped them reach the 1993 UEFA Cup final.

He had been playing for Dortmund’s veterans side as recently as last year.

West Germany boss Franz Beckenbauer named the 5ft 9ins frontman in his Italia 90 squad.

Mill, however, never got a game as he was faced with competition from Jurgen Klinsmann, Rudi Voller and future Liverpool flop Karlheinz Riedle.

He also played for Rot-Weiss Essen and Borussia Mönchengladbach and ended his career with Fortuna Dusseldorf.

How To Watch Freeview Online

If you don’t want to miss out on your favourite TV shows, whilst the engineering works are taking place, you can also watch Freeview on a connected TV via Freeview Play, on mobile phones and tablets through the mobile app and on the Freeview website.

The easiest way to way to access on-demand players such as BBC iPlayer and ITVX on your Freeview Play TV is simply to push Channel 100.

You can download the Freeview app on the App Store or Google Play Store.

This will give you access on your phone or tablet to an abundance of channels, such as BBC One and Channel 4.

To watch TV via the website, simply head to the TV Guide and click on a channel.

Recent Freeview Updates

This comes after Freeview viewers were urged to re-scan their TV boxes, following a huge channel change.

Channel 4 has boosted Freeview coverage for one of its channels in June, meaning if you haven’t already, you’ll need to retune to continue watching.

As part of Freeview’s monthly channel update, 4seven transitioned to a new frequency as of Wednesday 18 June, 2025.

This is because of an important technical change to the way the Channel 4 offshoot channel is broadcast on Freeview.

It will give more Freeview users access to the channel at a time when 4seven is increasingly used as an overspill for live events.

A popular Freeview box also received a key upgrade last month which fixed a bug affecting a slew of features.

Manhattan released the software update for its T4-R and T4 Freeview boxes.

The latest version – 2.06 – will finally fix a long-standing standby mode issue that has affected a number of users.

B&Q’s huge hydrangea is the cheapest around – it flowers for months & survives winter, growing bigger blooms each year

HYDRANGEAS are the perfect garden flower thanks to their versatility and popularity.

The gorgeous flower has trended this year and can now be snapped up for a bargain price at B&Q.

B&Q is selling the Hydrangea Paniculata at a bargain price[/caption]

B&Q
It is going for just £15[/caption]

The home and hardware chain has the Hydrangea Paniculata for just £15 for a 5 litre plant, whereas they can retail at other stores for anywhere between £20 and £30.

In the past month alone, there’s been 9.7 million Google searches for Hydrangeas, because people are catching on that they’re a great flower to have in any garden.

These 5-litre plants come in a mix of four colors and are available in-store now.

Why We Love Hydrangeas

The Hydrangea Paniculata is best known for its large, colourful blooms that flower in late summer and early autumn.

The range of colours include white, pink, green, and yellow, whose colour will not change depending on soil pH, unlike other varieties of hydrangeas.

Unlike the more common hydrangea varieties – Mophead, Lacecap, and Hortensia – “the Hydrangea paniculata is a striking panicle hydrangea known for its striking conical blooms and strong, upright habit”.

“These long-lasting flowerheads provide months of intense colour and structure, making them a great addition for borders or large containers,” said B&Q’s Outdoor Expert, Mark Sage.

Top Tips

Mark also shared his best tips to ensure that your hydrangeas will thrive for many years to come.

He recommended making sure they are placed in full sun for a minimum of four hours a day and water them regularly, because hydrangeas don’t like dry soil.

When spring comes around, be sure to feed them with a general purpose fertiliser and avoid excessive feeding during the growing season, otherwise you’ll end up with more leaves and fewer flowers.

Hydrangeas typically bloom from late spring to early autumn, depending on the climate and conditions.

Typically any colour changes occur because of aluminum availability in the soil, with pink or red flowers thriving in neutral to alkaline soil with a pH of over 7.0, while blue ones prefer an acidic soil of under six pH.

Hydrangeas are perennials, which means they come back year after year with the right care.

But over the winter, gardeners are told not to cut off the dead blooms, instead, they should be left on – even though they look brown and crispy – because they protect new shoots.

Then when spring rolls around, and after new shoots appear, give the plant a hard cut back – the more you cut back, the bigger the plant will then grow.

Hydrangeas can live for decades, in the right conditions, meaning they could be a good long-term investment for your garden. And they are easy to propagate – so you can have multiple plants from one, or swap and share with fellow gardeners.

Gardening mistakes that could get you fined

Gardening experts over at Toolstation have revealed the garden laws you need to be aware of not breaking.

While some of these laws could land you with a fine of up to £20,000 in extreme cases, a friendly chat with your neighbours can usually resolve any issues.

Tree removal and pruning: If you have a tree in your garden you want to get rid of you better think twice and do your research.

The gardening experts reveal: “If one neighbour wishes to remove or heavily prune a tree that the other neighbour values, disputes can arise over the impact on the view, shade, or privacy. “

While it might cause a row, if it is in your property boundary it is ultimately your choice, unless it has a Tree Protection Order on it.

“But, some trees may be protected by a Tree Protection Order which makes it an offence to uproot, top or destroy them, the experts warn.

The maximum fine for breaking this law is £20,000, so make sure you double check if it does have a TPO.

You can find out by contacting your local council for a map that shows this information. Alternatively, you can ask to speak with your local tree officer.

Property boundaries and fences: One of the main causes of neighbours falling out is through arguing over property boundaries and fencing.

To avoid this situation, the gardening pros recommend checking the deeds of your property to determine the correct boundaries

“Most of the time, it’s easy to determine who owns the fence as the fence posts will usually be on the owners side,” they add.

“Additionally, the height of fences or hedges can cause disputes between neighbours if one party feels the height has exceeded the two metre guidance.

“Hedges and fences should be no more than two metres high, and you could be asked by the council to take them down if a neighbour complains about the height.

“Luckily, standard fence sizes are less than two metres tall so you shouldn’t have a problem.”

Garden structures and additions: A pergola is the perfect addition to a garden if you want somewhere to relax in the shade.

But if it obstructs your neighbour’s view or violates local building regulations it could cause a dispute, as can sheds and other garden structures.

“If you’re not sure, have a chat with your neighbours to let them know what you’re planning and, if there’s an issue, get in touch with your local council who can give you more guidance,” advise the gardening experts.

Overhanging branches and plants: “When branches, vines, or roots from one neighbour’s tree or plant extend into the neighbouring property, it can lead to disagreements over potential damage to structures, blocked views, or the burden of maintenance,” reveal the pros.

However, it’s important to note you can only trim overhanging branches up to the boundary of your property otherwise, it could be seen as trespassing.

You can climb into the tree to carry out the work if needed, but only on your property and make sure to stay on your side of the fence if you don’t have permission to enter your neighbours garden.

How to prune a Hydrangea

The easiest way is to cut the dead bloom off the plant.

Snip as far down as the next new buds on the stem, if these are visible or to wherever looks appropriate.

For a more established plants you can cut old stems back to the base to encourage new growth.

Use clean, sharp garden shears or scissors to ensure a clean cut and no damage to your plant.

Ed Sheeran lookalike feared he was going to be killed after thugs targeted him for looking like singer in brutal attack

AN Ed Sheeran lookalike feared he was going to die when he was brutally beaten up at a festival.

Ty Jones was attending Parklife festival in Manchester a couple of weekends ago when he was targeted by a mob of six men – leaving him with a broken nose and two black eyes.

The 30-year-old, who is the UK’s best Ed lookalike – believes he was targeted because he looks so much like the singer and he heard chants of Ed Sheeran before blacking out, telling us: “It was horrible, I thought I was going to die.”

The incident, which his step daughter witnessed, has left him terrified to leave his house and scared to work again.

Explaining what happened Ty, who was attending the event for fun and not work, told us: “As soon as I got there everyone was just mithering me for pictures the whole entire day.

“My step daughter Kelly was going towards the main stage. and I was following, and then when they stopped, I was pushed like mad from the side very aggressively.

“I was like, ‘what’s going on here?’  I thought someone had just pushed someone into me. I didn’t think I’ve done anything wrong.

“And then they pushed me again in my chest, and these girls were asking for pictures.

“I was saying ‘there’s some trouble with these lads, I need to try and get away. I can’t have a picture, basically.

“So I tried to push past him, and as I’ve done that he’s dragged me to the floor.

“And there was another 4 of them basically behind him, and he just kicked and punched me. And they were like savages. They were just like coyotes.”

“it was terrifying. About 6 people kicking my head in on the floor, booting it like a football. Punching me all in the back of my head.”

Fortunately a man in the crowd stepped in and pulled them off him and helped get Ty to safety.

Ty believes he was picked on out of jealousy, telling us: “As I was going through the crowd, people were stopping me and taking videos and photos.

“And then these guys have probably noticed it from the side which I’ve not even noticed, and then shoved me out, probably jealousy, because they’re trying to show off in front of the girls.”

The attack, which Ty says was “very traumatic”, left him with a broken nose, black eyes and concussion.

Two young men with red hair.
Ed and Ty are both also the same height

But the psychological damage cuts much deeper, with Ty telling us it brought back terrible memories of being bullied at school for his red hair.

“ I broke down because it felt like I was a kid again, being bullied like I used to get it back in high school and stuff. So it really touched the nerve, and brought back a lot of trauma,” he says.

One of Ty’s biggest concerns was if he would be able to work again – he has been a full time Ed impersonator since the musician burst on the scene.

He’s now not sure what the future holds as he struggles to come to terms with what happened.

“It was a terrifying, horrible experience,  it really was, ” he tells us. “It scared me quite a lot to the point where it’s still terrifying, going out and, doing a gig?  I don’t think I could do it the same again, because of the anxiety that I feel like what’s around the next corner.”

Greater Manchester police are appealing for witnesses, they said: “Officers are investigating reports of an assault at Parklife Festival on Sunday 15 June.

“No arrests have been made and enquires are ongoing.

“Anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has any mobile phone footage is urged to contact police on 101, quoting the log number 2255 of 15/06/2025.”

I gave birth to ‘Ed Sheeran’s’ baby – I was exhausted but still went to the singer’s concert hours later

By Jon Rogers and Liam Coleman

A WOMAN who had a baby with an Ed Sheeran lookalike was at the singer’s concert just hours after giving birth.

Ty Jones and his partner Amanda Baron welcomed their first child together in June 2022.

They called their daughter Cherry Rose – in a nod to Ed’s wife Cherry Seaborn – and added the middle names Leigh and Sheeran.

And just hours after giving birth, mum-of-five Amanda, from Carrington, Gtr Manchester, was watching her idol in concert.

Having had barely any sleep, the couple went to see Ed perform at Man City’s Etihad Stadium.

Amanda was introduced to Ty by pals who met him at one of the star’s gigs.

Ty, who looks so like the Shape of You singer that he works full-time as an Ed-alike, said: “I feel phenomenal. Cherry is beautiful.”

And Amanda, who is an Ed Sheeran superfan, said: “She’s perfect.”

Cherry Rose, who arrived three weeks early, was born at Wythenshawe Hospital weighing 5lb 6oz at 4.08am.

She said of the baby: “I chose the name Cherry as it’s so sweet.

“We also wanted to keep the Ed Sheeran theme in the family.”

Jeremy Clarkson recently clarified why Harriet was brought onto the farm as speculation mounted over Kaleb’s future.

He said: “What happened is this, he went away on his speaking tour, for a couple of months because he imagined that after four years, I’d be able to manage on my own.

” I didn’t – I made a complete mess of everything and had to bring in a young girl called Harriet.

“Harriet is brilliant and looked after the fort until he got back.

“That is it – that’s the story!”

Fans are desperate to know if Harriet will remain on the farm when Kaleb returns and, so far, she’s keeping coy, telling them: “Hmm we will have to see.”
