The Young hitmaker has now taken to her Instagram page to post an emotional tribute.
She shared a childhood image showing her snuggling with her dad and the words: “Love you pops, rest in peace.
“Forever my father’s daughter.”
Heartbroken rapper Dappy, who was in the band with his cousin Tulisa, also previously shared the sad news as he posted a video of himself with his uncle, alongside a white dove.
I’m A Celeb star Tulisa commented on the post with a broken heart emoji and Dappy replied: “I’m so sorry T.”
Speaking last year about her father, she said on Paul Brunson’s podcast We Need To Talk: “Me and my dad’s relationship has not been a conventional one.
“I would say me and my dad now we’re just more friends that kind of have an understanding of one another.”
Plato was well loved within the music scene during the 1970s, as part of the blues band Mungo Jerry.
The band gained massive success after landing the Number 1 hit In The Summertime in 1970, with Pluto on the keyboard.
Other hits from the band include Lady Rose and Alright, Alright, Alright.
Plato contributed his incredible skills to the group while his brother Byron – who is Tulisa’s uncle and Dappy’s father – played the bass guitar.
Tulisa’s dad reportedly was in the band in its early days with Byron – who tragically passed in the early days of N-Dubz.
Speaking about her dad’s influence on her career, she said in the past: “My dad had a little studio in Dollis Hill and he used to bring me there sometimes when he was working.
“He put me on the mic at the age of five. I was singing Little Mermaid.
“I just knew there was nothing else I felt passionate about.”
The star has told in the past how her dad left her mum, Anne Byrne, and her when she was nine years old.
Tulisa became her mum’s primary carer at the tender age of 11.
Dappy shared a video of himself fishing with his uncle SteveTulisa with her dad at Christmas one yearMrPaparazzi.com
Anne was diagnosed with schizoaffective disorder in 2007, a combination of bipolar and schizophrenia.
When Plato left home Tulisa started staying at her aunt’s house more often.
She said in the past: “My dad left home and it triggered one of her episodes.
“One minute she’d look all mournful as if someone had died, the next she’d be angry and aggressive, smashing cupboards and shouting.
“Inevitably, she went into hospital again and I stayed with my mum’s older sister, Louise.”

The bargain hunter posted a photo of their First Tastes weaning starter kit, which was priced at just £5.99.
On the Home Bargain sign it said that the pack is usually priced at £15.99, meaning you save £9.01.
Included in the kit is a Roll ‘n’ Go bib comes with a crumb catcher.
It also has a number of Easiscoop feeding bowls, which stack inside each other to save on space.
They are said to be safe to use in the microwave, and BPA free – as well as being dishwasher safe.
There are also a number of ergonomically shaped spoons which are “easy to hold, without getting your fingers messy.”
The Tommee Tippee website says: “Our Softee weaning spoon is the perfect choice for their first adventures into solid food.
“The smooth, flexible tip is specially designed for tiny mouths – it tips food gently onto their mouth and is super soft on tender gums. The extra-long handle makes scooping and feeding easy.”
Meanwhile, the kit also comes with a weaning sippy cup to help develop tipping and sipping skills whilst preventing spills.
Another said: “need to grab this, that’s a bargain.”
A third commented: “Handy for little man.”
We previously shared how a mum spotted the Tommee Tippee anti-colic set, which is normally on sale for £39, being sold for just £9.75 in the Tesco clearance.

What is baby led weaning?
Starting your baby on food can be a daunting, scary process.
And while mums have depended for years on purees and soft, easy to eat foods for their babies, there’s another approach that often causes controversy.
Namely baby led weaning (BLW).
Instead of spoon-feeding your baby pureed or mashed foods, BLW means offering them “only finger foods and letting them feed themselves from the start”, the NHS explained.
“You can offer a range of small, finger-sized pieces of food,” they added.
“Some parents prefer baby-led weaning to spoon feeding, while others combine a bit of both.
“There’s no right or wrong way – the most important thing is that your baby eats a wide variety of food and gets all the nutrients they need.”

A MAN involved in a medieval reenactment is in a serious condition after suffering a horrendous sword injury.
The 37-year-old man was wearing body armour when his opponent’s sword entered his visor just before 3pm.

He has been left in a serious condition after suffering a head injury.
Police have appealed for witnesses to come forward after the incident on Sunday at Bodiam Castle, East Sussex.
A large crowd including children were watching the reenactments at the 14th century castle.
They were left shocked and distressed by the “freak accident”.
One witness said: “It had been a really thrilling fight reenactment and then suddenly it went catastrophically wrong.
“It was a freak accident really. They must have rehearsed it a hundred times. It was clearly just dreadful luck.
“It was clear the man was very seriously injured and people were very shocked. Some kids were in tears. It was quite upsetting for everyone who was there.”
Police are specifically looking for photographs or video footage of the incident.
Detective Inspector Barry Chandler from Sussex Police said: “A man was unfortunately injured during the combat re-enactment.
“We are treating the incident as an accident and we are offering support to his family. His opponent, a 36-year-old man also from Horsham, and the organisers are helping us with our enquiries.
“We know the re-enactment had drawn a large crowd and understand that anyone who witnessed the scene could have found this distressing.
“We are appealing to anyone who has photographs or videos of the interaction that led to the injury to contact us so we can gain a clear understanding of what happened.”
The man was rushed to Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton after being treated by paramedics.
The castle, which is run by the National Trust, often hosts groups of volunteers with a passion for history and training.
Dressed in full armour, they show what medieval combat may have looked like, through showing weapons and explaining techniques.
Visitors are then invited to ask the participants questions to build up their knowledge of medieval life and combat.
