Auditor-General South Africa (AGSA) is hiring 11 Audit Seniors in the Eastern Cape on a 2-year fixed-term contract. This is a strategic opportunity for professionals who have completed their articles and are working toward their CA(SA) designation.
Minimum Requirements
- Completed 3-year SAICA articles
- CTA qualification (completed) and currently studying towards CA(SA)
- Experience supervising audit teams
- Knowledge of audit planning, execution, and reporting in line with relevant auditing standards
- Ability to manage stakeholder engagements and coach junior staff
Key Responsibilities
Strategic & Planning
- Support implementation of Balanced Scorecard (BSC) initiatives
- Review planning documents and understand audit risks and business operations
- Monitor audit progress and manage RFI tracking
Audit Execution & Reporting
- Perform complex audit procedures
- Review audit working papers and findings
- Ensure audit findings are clearly documented and discussed with auditees
Stakeholder Engagement
- Engage with key stakeholders internally and at auditee institutions
- Keep management updated on audit developments
- Perform Status of Records Reviews (SoRR)
People Management
- Supervise trainee auditors (1st to 3rd years)
- Mentor trainees for academic and professional progress
- Review trainee assessments and adhere to training office timelines
Financial and Operational Compliance
- Monitor recoverability and manage resources to meet budget targets
- Comply with AGSA internal controls, policies, and procedures
