Ashanti Regional Minister Frank Amoakohene has dismissed claims that he was attacked by an angry individual in the aftermath of the devastating fire that engulfed shops in Adum, Kumasi.
Addressing the reports, Amoakohene took to social media to refute the allegations, stating that the publication by Joy Prime TV was entirely false.
“I have received numerous calls regarding a false publication by @JoyPrimetv on Instagram claiming I was attacked by a gentleman at PZ.
“This is entirely untrue and a needless false alarm. I am safe and sound — and I am not the person in the said video. Kindly disregard the misinformation,” he clarified.
The Minister’s response comes after reports from Joy Prime suggested he was confronted by some individuals affected by the fire, which ravaged several shops in the bustling business district earlier in the day.
Authorities continue to assess the damage caused by the inferno, while investigations are underway to determine its cause.
