ARSENAL manager Mikel Arteta is losing one of his closest associates ahead of a crucial summer.
Arteta‘s assistant coach Carlos Cuesta is set to be named Parma manager at the age of just 29.

Cuesta – who joined Arteta’s Arsenal backroom team in 2020 – is set to make Serie A history after receiving the biggest opportunity of his ten-year career.
The Spanish tactician will officially become the youngest head coach in the Italian top flight this century.
The Mallorca-born coach is expected to take over at Parma at the age of 29 years, 10 months and 20 days.
That puts Cuesta only behind Elio Loschi, who took over Triestina in 1939 at the age of 29 years, nine months and 20 days old.
According to transfer insider Fabrizio Romano, talks between Arsenal and Parma are at the “final stages”.
And it seems the Italian outfit will get the green light from the Premier League giants.

The move is major blow to Arteta, who will be losing an assistant who has helped him transform Arsenal into title contenders.
Cuesta joined the Spanish head coach’s backroom staff on August 2020 after some impressive stints at Atletico Madrid and Juventus, where he worked as the Under-17s’ assistant manager.
That was just nine months after Arteta replaced Unai Emery at the helm.
This comes ahead of what many have described as a critical season for Arsenal’s manager as pressure is piling up for him to win a major trophy amid a six-year stint that has only seen him lifting one FA Cup.
Cuesta will be taking over Parma after a rough season that saw the former big hitters finishing 16th in Serie A, just five points above the relegation zone.
